I went here to eat on 7-21-09 and was pleased with wait time and the food was ok. Not worth over $20 a plate. Steaks $30.00?! I don't feel that it's worth this much.

Love the Key West Grill. Been coming to Myrtle Beach on vacation for many years and the past few years we always make it a point to eat at the Key West Grill. Love the tomato, onion, cuke salad with feta cheese and balsalmic vinegar dressing (will feed 2). This year (2009) we had a wonderful waiter by the name of Brad. We have never been disappointed.

I have no idea how this place is still in business. Terrible service, a fight occured among the staff, food was below average quality. This place should just fold up so a real restaurant can take over this valuable real estate.

It was wonderful! The crab cakes were wonderful and the nachos are to die for. We had a great waitress. The service was wonderful. The atmosphere was awesome. You can feed the fish while you eat. Really enjoyed the overall experience.Very romantic. The steak was great also. We will go back again for sure.

My husband, children and I took a vacation this spring to Myrtle Beach with my extended family. We went to the Key West Grill for dinner. Being slightly early for the dinner rush (it was about 5:00), we were seated with a minimal wait at Key West. Our waiter was great, and was very patient as we had a few young children with us. The drinks were really good, and the food was even better. The waiter was amazing. I foresee many trips to the Key West Grill on future vacations to Myrtle Beach.

My son and I came to eat at this restaurant the other night. I have eaten here before . It is pricey for the type of food served. But, it's typical for the MB area. We had planned on going to 'Margaritaville' as we had not been in there before. However, the wait time was going to be an hour so we walked back to 'Key West;. We were seated in a far off corner. The lighting was so dim it was hard to read the menu. The waitress had such a strong accent it was very hard to hear /understand her over the clatter of the busboy slamming dishes in his tub. We decided on an appetizer first. It was an over sized portion of nachos that could easily have fed four people. It was way too big and overloaded with gooey cheese sauce. Too large to finish,we didn't have any appetitie left for an entree. Our waitress kept trying to remove it (not finished yet!) and acted huffy when we didn't order anything else. Three cocktails, these nachos and 2 pieces of pie cost $48.00!! She came back with my son's change, slapped it down into his hand with the receipt and flitted off. And they wonder why they get low tips for poor service? Unless you just don't care how much money you spend, there are plenty of other great places to eat in MB.

I went to the key west grill last July with 3 friends. I spent $40 alone and I'm not complaining one bit. I ordered the filet mignon and it was undoubtfully the best filet i've ever had. Service was a little slow, but within reason considering it was very busy. Waiter was excellent and we loved it. We are certainly going back again and I'm not going to spend any less. P.S the salad was excellent as well.

Place has gone downhill like a ski slope. Place was 1/4 full and the service was so slow I was about to walk out when it came. Shudda walked out because the Jambalya was dry, and over cooked to the point where it was tasteless. I'm a local. Have eaten at most of the places at Broadway. This is by far the worst. Nice atmosphere but that's about it.

Waited an hour for food when place was less than 50% full and waiters were lounging around the reception desk. Music was horrible drumming 'island' music that was so loud we could not have a conversation. We asked the manager to reduce the volume and he said it was out of his control and only "corporate" could reduce the volume. The food arrived cold and fish was still raw. Bill for 4 adults was $231.00 with NO bar bill and no desserts. Absolutely the worst meal we have ever had in Myrtle Beach. DON'T GO!!!!

Me and my boyfriend have been here 2 times, last yr. On 4th of july(2008) & feb. 14th (2009) and we love it. Back in july we had to wait, but who doesnt when it's the 4th?! we wanted to sit outside to see the fireworks and sure enough one of the hostesses got us a seat outside, she was very nice. When I first looked at the menu I thought "expensive!", but once I ordered my food, the price of it didnt matter, it was that good! the steak is to die for! our waiter was very good, I knocked my glass over into the water and he was back in 5 mins to bring me another glass. We didnt have to wait long & service was great again. I would recommend it..

Went to Key West and sat at the bar just to get a beer and maybe an appetizer. The service was the worst. The bartender or supposed to be bartender was more interested in goggling on the computer than waiting on patrons. We received a menu but she never asked if we wanted anything to eat. We have been to Key West for many years and this is the worst service we've ever seen. If I were the manager I would have told her to find another occupation

Went out with some girlfriends for a drink and an appetizer. We were seated immediately and out waitress came to our table quickly. We were looking at the appetizers and our waitress recommended the appetizer platter. We all agreed. We got our drinks....they were horrible. Finally our appetizer platter came. The food was horrible also with the exception of the coconut shrimp. We did not eat not even a third of the platter. What a shock when the bill came! $98.00!!!! We almost died! The platter (that was not even on the menu) was $40.00. There was only 4 of us so we ended up paying $25.00 a piece. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AND KEY WEST GRILL!!! I recommend you go to Crabby Mike's or Bennett's. All you can eat crab legs. I will never go there again!

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Food was overpriced, cold and mi-represented on the menu. Our waiter was horrible! Worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. So much so, I tipped 10%, and the waiter added an additional $20.00 to the tip on his own, and was subsequently fired. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! Go to a local joint in Murrell's Inlet instead.

My first clue that we shouldn't have eaten here, was the waite staff outside the front door trying to get people to come in and eat. We looked at the menu, and it was quite pricey but the waite staff told us it was a 4 star restaurant so we figured we would try it. It was so noisy in there my husband and I could hardly hear each other speak. We both ordered the crab stuffed chicken and a salad. With prices starting at $23.00 (and up) I was surprised that everything was served on plastic plates. Even the drinks were in plastic cups. I was wondering why they didn't have a plastic fork and knife to go with the other plasticware. BUT...they did have cloth napkins. LONG wait for food. When it finally arrived, the waiter only brought one chicken dish not two. He thought we wanted to split it..must have been the noise in there and he didn't hear two chicken dishes. Chicken was dry along with the bread brought to the table. There was hardly any crab stuffing in the chicken. The salad was brought in a huge serving bowl with no salad tongs. Therefore, we had to scrape it out with our fork onto a plate. Bathrooms were dirty with toilet paper and paper hand towels all over the floor. Do yourself a favor, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! EAT at Landrys. It is a much better dining experience.

I had lunch at Key West Grill today. There were only a few other patrons there, so I had no problem with noise. I was seated immediately and my waiter came very quickly. I ordered the Key West Signature Salad and it was awesome. Vegetables were fresh, Presentation was very nice. The salad was more than enough for a meal. And of course seeing Kiwi (the Macaw) is always a treat. I will go back.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on our honeymoon in October 2007. I had the Gulf shrimp and the baked potato, which was delicious. The Cuban slaw was a new experience that I enjoyed very much. The service was prompt and friendly. I loved the pirate like atmosphere. I would definitely go back if I had the chance. I have eaten at Key West Grill during every visit to Myrtle Beach for the past six years or more. I'll even eat at KWG two or three times per visit to the beach - yes, it's that good! The food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced. The calamari and escargot are great starters. There is a great variety of fare on the menu and unlike the famous gigantic buffets in the area, the seafood is EXCELLENT! I love the huge booths, decor and view. The wait staff is always friendly.

In a simple word +SUCKS+. Do what you will eat as you shall. But be forewarned to this child's level attempt of a restaurant. I only can hope the collage kids who seem to run everything there stay in school, for they are the dumbest morons I have every come across in my life. Burger King has better service and food. Nothing special about this place, the decor in nice when they feel like cleaning off the tables and sweeping the floor. I guess that job is below the college kids working there. ENJOY YOUR MEAL!

I read these recent reviews and determined that these people must not have gone at the right time. Key West Grill has the best happy hour specials every day from 4-6! My boyfriend and I have been several times and have enjoyed the specials very much. They have a decent menu with all items priced at around $6, and the well liquor drink are only $3 (and our drinks are always quite strong!). We are very big foodies and are critical of taste as well as portion size and value- we wish that there was a restaurant like this in Wilmington! We're heading back to MB next weekend and will definitely be back for Happy Hour again!

The food was by far overpriced. For appetizer, we all split the Nachos which were unbelievable. I had the stuffed flounder as my entree which was absolutely terrible. My sister and her husband had the surf and turf which was excellent, but not worth $80. Our server, Maverick, was very professional and was happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. We asked Maverick to send over the manager after we completed our meals so that we could appraise him on the outstanding service he provided. Our server seemed hesitant to send over the manager, but did so anyway. The manager seemed to not be interested in what we had to say and completely ignored us. It is obvious that the restaurant is ridiculously overpriced and has a poor management staff who doesn't care about their employees or customers. If it wasn't for Maverick (I doubt was his real name) it would have been one of the worst restaurants we have ever been to while on vacation. I would not recommend going to Key West Grill unless you expect to pay for overpriced food and great service.

I recently tried the Key West Grill for the first time as well and the food was terrible. I ordered fried calamari for an appitizer and it was chewey and very odd flavored. It was obviously frozen and flash fried, but tasted really bad. I had to send it back. My boyfriend ordered a gin and tonic, which was missing the "gin", there may have been a splash, but certainly not a normal portion of alcohol. Our dinners were over priced and lacked flavor and quanity. The portions are very small for the price. We were very disappointed and will not be returning to the Key West Grill.

Our food was terrible...the "white pizza" was just pizza without sauce with no flavor. Also my friend ordered a turkey and apple sandwich, it came out with ham on it! When we told our server he said that "their turkey was pink" I insisted thatit was ham, since i can tell the difference in taste and appearence! He took the sandich in to the kitchen only to bring the same sanwich out accompianed by a piece of ham all he said was "THIS is ham and THAT is turkey" motioning to the two plates....end of story it was ham! Also the drinks were overpriced and i dont think they used any alcohol in them...as a bartender and waitress this was the worst restaurant I have ever been to and I will NEVER go back!

We ate in this restaurant this week, tempted by a sneak peak at the menu. Wish I'd read the reviews first as without a doubt, this was our worst dining experience so far in Myrtle Beach. Unorganized wait list for seating, rude hostesses. Our waiter certainly seemed to be trying and was nice, but he clearly wasn't good or experienced. He couldn't open our wine bottle, spilled drinks on the neighboring table, forgot utensils for our kids, served our 3 year old son last (by about 10 minutes), etc. Our food was all disappointing. My dish was dry and lacked any flavor. Appetizer was just so-so. The clincher was that our bill came to almost exactly what our bill had been the previous night at Landry's. $124 for family of 4 with 1 bottle of wine and 1 appetizer. (Actually we'd had dessert at Landry's so technically they were a little cheaper). Yet Landry's food, service, and atmosphere were all 1000% better than Key West Grill. So in summary ----- go to Landry's if you want higher-end service or to Joe's Crab Shack if you want something more affordable. Both had better food and service by far.

This was a bit of a dissappointment. Being very hungry while shopping at Broadway at the Beach, we decided to stop in for dinner. Although seated quickly and somewhat well attended to by our waiter, the whole dining experience left alot to be desired. The food was boring, the prices high and the entertainment (and I use that term losely) of the 'pirate' walking around trying to do tricks and jokes left us hoping we could eat and get out quickly before he spotted us. I would definetly not waste my money going back. If you want to spend 25 plus dollars on an entree, find somewhere better to spend your money.

My husband and I have been there a few times and the price has increased a lot especially for the lunch menu. His burger wasn't cooked well done as he ordered it but was rather red in the middle. The waiter was very pleasant and he had no control over the prices or the quality of food. We were seated quickly and the atmosphere was ok, the biggest issue is the quality of food for the price.

My sister and I ate here for lunch and loved the whole experience. The atmosphere is upscale-casual. Our waitress was excellent and the food we had was awesome. I ordered the shrimp sandwich which was great. My sisters sandwich was turkey, brei cheese and apples with a special mayo that was a little fruity. AWESOME. The cuban coleslaw was excellent. Definitely would recommend this place for lunch. My sister had a mango mohito. She said it was the best mixed drink she ever had.

I've been to Key West Grill about a dozen times over the years. I've had really great servers and food and I've had instances in which it took forever to get the food or a refill. Not very consistent, but I still like going there.

We went for an early dinner. I had the tilapia with mango pineapple salsa, which was perfectly cooked. My son (who is one) substituted grilled chicken and veggies for the kids menu chicken fingers and fries - a much healthier option, and it looked and smelled amazing. My husband had the mahi mahi. We had oysters as well, which were great.

Our waitress was professional and attentive. Our meal was outstanding. One of the best we have had in the Myrtle beach area.

After a long day we wanted a good meal, walked in, saw three other party's there and it was 7:00 P.M. on a Satruday, should have walked out then. The waiter deliverd a much too long speach. Most people working there just stood around the bar, and the waiter, while nice, seemed bored. Dissapointed in food, and VERY inflated prices. Also, im pretty sure these positive reiews are by people whoe work there. Oh and the person saying bad service should be accepted, and they are overworked, well how come we had good waiters everywere else?

I have been going to MB for 20 years. Even though I do not make it all the time I am looking forward to going to KWG. The mango margaritas are delish! I am hoping they are still serving these when I come back in July. The wait is not long at lunch and your line is long everywhere in MB at night. The prices are $$$ for $$$ food. This is not a chain "get in and out" place. You are on vacation, appreciate your company and enjoy the wait!

We went here twice. Once for dinner and once for desert. The black bean soup was outstanding. The grilled scallops were the best I have had in many years. Browned and not dry. The waiter was real nice. We also went for desert and coffee another night and while the seserts were $7.00 each, they were good. Good variety on the menu.

Horrible Place. After being seated no one came to greet us or anything for over 15 minutes.....an abundant number of employees were busy talking to each other....the place was dead quiet with virtually no one there but us and maybe 12 employees.....not a single one cared.......when we were leaving and complained to hostess as we passed the front desk but she was so busy chatting with a male employee that she asked us to 'hold on'//// while she finished her conversation.....this place needs to close

Service was poor even though place was less the 1/3 full.. Worst place we have ever eaten in Myrtle Beach. Will NEVER go back. Avoid this place like the plague. Had better food at McDonalds.

I can't help but wonder when I read some of the previously posted reviews. It seems to me that whoever is writing these has no clue...when you visit a restaurant in a tourist area, do not expect to be "in and out" fast...no matter how many people are in there! You're going to have to wait to sit down and you're going to have to wait for your food to be prepared. Period. Secondly, while I agree $8 seems like a lot for a mixed drink, that is the average price these days (obviously you don't get out much). I've only eaten at KWG twice, but each time the service was just fine. No, my server didn't kiss the ground I walked on (as some of the previous posters believe should happen!), but the service was friendly and efficient. I could go on and on but the bottom line is this is a family restaurant in a high traffic, tourist area...do not go here looking for a "fine dining" experience or expect the most spectacular food and service...but if you do want a good burger in a good atmosphere, you should check it out!

Myself and a relatively large group of friends ate at this restaurant yesterday. The service was terrible with a seemingly unconcerned and unmotivated waitress and a bartender incapable of following simple instructions. The food was overpriced and poorly cooked. Three of us ordered the shrimp special and two of us are feeling like we may have food poisoning. I will never recommend or eat at this poorly managed restaurant again.

My wife and I (retirees) took advantage of a early bird special on February 10 '08. The food was fine and we were not unhappy until we got the bill.

The food was priced as advertised, but we were charged $10.00 for a SMALL glass of house wine.

We complained to the waiter who called the manager - His only comment was that they charge what the OWNER dictates. He said the prices were in the menu. But, we were only given the early bird menu which does NOT have beverage prices.

We should have learned from an earlier mistake - Last year, we also had a bad experience at this restaurant - But, being aging retirees, we had forgotten ;(

WE WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS RESTAURANT!!

For several years we have visited Myrtle Beach during the winter and enjoyed at least one evening/occasion per trip at Key West Grill. Generally the food was fine. Our visit on the first of February was unfortunately an exception. The service was poor -there were only two or three other parties in the restaurant at about 6:00PM yet we waited for 15 minutes for a waiter. The food in general was not up to the standard that we had grown to expect - a salad is no longer offered with the main course and my wife's steak was several degrees beyond done. For reference our check number was 165941. We won't make the same mistake again.

We ate here this past summer. For not being much of a line, it took a little while to get seated. My only real complaint is the value. The food at best is average, but for the price its a rip off. They charged $4.00 for a side salad that was literally a bowl of iceburg lettuce. The atmosphere is nice. But the service was pretty slow again for not being very crowded.

This was a new experience for us. We had never eaten here and did not really know what to order. When it came to my turn to order, I wanted a suggestion from the waitress. All I got was " I have other tables that need me, I can't wait on you to order." I was definitely offended. The waitress did not care, she recieved her already figured in gratuity. She did not deserve one penny. Will never go back! Very disappointed!

This place, bar none, has the WORST managing staff I've ever encountered in my life. Can't really blame any of the employees who have no ambition to perform their jobs, given what they put up with. Employment turnaround rate is HIGH, even for a restaurant. There's a reason there is always a blurb in the help wanted ads with their name on it. Don't support this rag-tag, unorganized, overpriced establishment. You'll only leave disappointed.

The restaurant was not even busy. When I told the host about the poor service they acted like they expected to hear it. Worst service I've ever received. My family has enjoyed this restaurant in the past so returned there this past August. Big mistake!!! My husband and son arrived at the restaurant first (while my daughter and I were waiting in line at Victoria's Secret just across the way), but even though the restaurant was mostly empty they did not want to seat them (until my husband insisted) because "they do not seat incomplete parties." Our waitress barely spoke English and service was terrlble. My son ordered a $28.00 lobster pasta entree that was about 2 cups of food in an enormous bowl...no salad, nothing came with it. I had a mojito which turned out to be $8.00 (no prices were listed on the drink menu). The bun on my burger was completely soaked through so that I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The bill was enormous...this was the most expensive meal we have ever had in Myrtle Beach, and that includes fine restaurants like the Parson's Table in Little River where you would expect the check to be high and it would be worth it. Skip this one, folks.

We went on a Saturday night with a group of 6 and were seated shortly thereafter. Our server was very nice but didn't do a good job at all. Yes-they were all very busy but they should have more staff members on hand. The floor was very slippery at the front door where the kitchen staff was going out to get lobsters from the tank. At one point, we were ALL without drinks, for a long period of time. The food was WAY over priced........good thing I checked my bank statement when I returned home because the TOTAL amount was charged twice. And-because we were a party of 6, we were charged a gratuity of $7 each. He got a $21 tip for HORRIBLE service. Don't go there expecting good service--its not going to happen. We will not return.

This was hands down the absolute worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I was with a group of friends who all agreed that the Key West Grill is absolutely a horrible establishment, almost entirely due to the staff, especially management. Our waiter was not rude, but he was completely nonexistent. It took 15 minutes for anyone to even take a drink order once we were seated. The waiter constantly seemed confused and like he had somewhere else to be. The entrees that my friends and I had were nothing special, very mediocre, and very overpriced for the small portion that was served (and mine was pretty cold, by the way). I wanted another drink but could not find our waiter so I took some cash up to the bar to get drinks for all of us. The bartender was pompous and rude. The worst part of the evening came when we asked for our check -- our waiter never came back! After waiting for over 25 minutes, we finally had to flag down a busboy who said he'd try to find our waiter. After we could not take it anymore, we went to try to find the manager so we could pay something for the horrible experience, as we were very ready to leave. The manager could not have cared less -- he was very snippy and condescending. Two of my friends were incorrectly charged for drinks that WERE NEVER SERVED to us. When we asked the manager to correct the bill, he rolled his eyes and sighed as if he were disgusted with us. At this point, it had been almost an hour since we had asked for the check. We were literally chasing staff around the restaurant to try to pay for this excruciating evening! It was absolutely unbelievable that we paid anything that night. I did not leave any tip, and this is the first time I have EVER done that. I have dealt with the public all my life in the jobs I've had, so I know what it is like, and I always tip well, even for mediocre service. I feel like this restaurant would be good ONLY if the entire staff, especially management, were FIRED and replaced. What a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place -- DO NOT GO THERE.

This was the worst restaurant I've ever been to. We asked to be seated outside, and they tried to seat us inside. We were told that the Margaritas were $4...all of them. Yet the one that we ordered was mysteriously $9.99. The food was extremely overpriced for the substandard taste. We got up and went to the bar for our drinks because we almost died from thirst waiting for our server. This was ALL night. Last but not least, we tried to pay for our dinner. We asked for the check at 9:00 pm and received it at 10:00 pm. We talked to 2 managers who obviously haven't been through management training. They were so rude that we went from being mad at the server to feeling sorry for him that he had to work in such a place. The manager said he discounted my bill yet I was $15 overcharged to begin with...Thanks to his wonderful discount I only paid $5 more dollars than I should have!!!!! I will never eat here again!

This was perhaps the worst dining experience of my life. The service was awful. It took us twenty minutes after placing drink orders to receive water or drinks. The waiter never came by to check on us, and the worst - after we asked for the bill it was 40 minutes before the waiter came to the table to tell us that they had lost the bill. We complained to the manager who was nonchalant, pompous, and completely rude. At this point, it had been an hour since we had asked for a bill and we now felt like we were trying to chase people down to give them our money. We spoke to another manager who was equally as rude and who ultimately sent the shaking waiter back to us with our bills (slightly discounted). I quickly stopped being upset about the waiter's performance and realized it was more than likely that poor management was the cause of this mess called a restaurant. Management disappeared at this point and threw the waiter into the lion's den, so to speak. It was surreal. DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT.

After waiting an hour to be seated when told that it would only be 20-30 minute wait, the other three individuals I was with waited over an hour and forty five minutes for our main course to be served. Every one of our dishes was incorrect and when we confronted the server about the issues he became very defensive. I felt as though we were extremely patient during the entire ordeal. In fact, one of managers came to our table an hour and fifteen minutes into the wait we did not raise a fuss. He was actually amazed that we did not yell at him about the poor service. After speaking to yet another manager, they made an adjustment to the bill, which I thought was rather insignificant and almost insulting. After the manager finally took care of the entire bill we were so disgusted with our dining experience that we all let without even eating a single bit of out food. I felt as though the staff there was unapologetic and was not concerned with the reputation of their establishment. By fare my worst dining experience in Myrtle Beach to date.

Myself and a group dined with this restaurant, and it was the worst restaurant experience we all have ever had. At first the afternoon started off great, but then it took 45 minutes before we received any drinks. The waitress kept bringing glasses of water instead of the drinks that we ordered. We ended up having three glasses of water in the middle of the table and not any of the drinks that we ordered. We had to go up to the bar ourselves and get drinks because we had waited for so long. Even when our meal arrived, the waitress still had not brought the original drinks that were ordered. The waitress brought out my appetizer 10 minutes before my meal, she didn't bring out my friend's appetizer at all, and she didn't brink out my sister-in-law's salad either. Never once did we receive an apology for these mistakes. She just said "OH" but never tried to make anything right. We gave her our Myrtle Beach VIP cards to take off $2.00 on the appetizer, which she didn't take off, and the restaurant charges 18% gratuity per person per meal ordered. We then asked for the manager to ask to have the tip lowered because of bad service. He then informed us that there is no way that the tip can be lowered any, "That's the way the computer rings it up." So basically the waitress can provide all the bad service that she wants because she is automatically going to get an 18% tip from everyone. Just from our table alone she made a $120 dollars tip, and her service was awful!! Our whole experience could have deescalated with a simple apology, if not from the waitress, at least from the "manager", but neither never looked the least bit worried and never apologized for one thing. Also, a friend in our party was talking to the manager about the waitress not separating the bill, as was asked of her earlier, the manager just turned around and walked away in the middle of my friend's sentence. That is just rude, nasty, and not a good work ethic or manageral skills at all. This restaurant provides very poor customer service, and they have very bad attitudes. So if you go and your server is Denise, RUN!! None of my party, including myself, is never going to return to this restaurant.

Hands down, this was one of my worse dining experiences ever.

I did not receive what I ordered, the food was poorly prepared, the service was AWFUL, and to make matter worse, the manager was rude and snippy when I complained. I will never go back.

Avoid this restaurant!!

The worst place you could ever eat ! that is if you get your food. Our family waited an hour and an half and was promised to be seated outside to watch the fireworks. That never happened! Then we waited at least 45 min before we ever got the salads which were hot and half of us didnt even get the salads.at that time I went and spoke with the manager which told me he would take care of everything asap ! I still have not seen the manager. Our drinks were never refilled! We then complained again to our waiter, who at that point laughed in our face. We should have left at this moment but we had been there so long and knew we would have to wait again somewhere else. I got up to go and talk with the manager again and there were 4 other complaints in front of me. He never came out of the kitchen! Take my advice dont eat here. My family and I have never been so upset and treated so bad in our lives! Go somewhere else. Waiting 2 hours somewhere else is well worth it ! They should shut this place down !.

It was one of the worse times I have ever had at any restraunt ever. My Fiance went there and it took 90 minutes to get our appitizer (It was nachos) and we kept talking to others there who kept laughing at how long theres took as well. Then we got our food. Lobster for my Fiance, and I had like a combo meal. EVERYTHING INCLUDING THE NACHOS WERE COLD!!!! My fiance complained and waitress laughed and walked away. Over all were were there for almost 2 1/2 hours and everything was horrible. We will never go again.

We took our son and his two preschool daughters who are from Atlanta to the grill for lunch. Most of the restaurant was shut down due to the cleaning of the floors. We had to walk through puddled water (and cleaning products, obvious from the odor) to get to our table. The staff was cleaning the floors during service time. The floor was slippery. We waited for about an hour after being seated before we received our food, which was of poor quality. We are locals and had eaten at the grill before (a couple of years ago). The food was, previously, fairly good and the service was okay. Today's experience was unacceptable. We will not be returning, nor will we ever recommend this restaurant again. If this grill were not located in the tourist trap of Broadway, it would never have survived this long.

When we walked in the door the Hostess did not even acknowledge us. We had an infant with us and when we asked to be seated in a non smoking area they look ed at us like we were crazy. After we had been seated we waited for about 20 min and no waiter or waitress came to our table. I immediately looked for a manager to no avail. We decided that this restaurant's staff and management was horrible. I cannot believe a place like this stays in Business! We quickly decided that this place did not deserve our business and left. On the way out the hostess did not seem to care that we were leaving and when stopped by the restroom on my way out I was disgusted with how dirty it was. There was even traces of what appeared to be cocaine on the sink counter. I guess that is what you get when you let idiots manage your restaurant's. I am going to contact the franchise owner of this place and submit a formal complaint. On the up side, we stopped into UNO's to eat and the service was first class. I think we were greeted by every member of the staff and the food was fantastic!

This used to be a favorite of ours. We went back last night and things have definitely changed. The new menu is awful. A lot of our favorites have been eliminated - and what has remained on the menu have been altered. They have increased their prices, which were high to begin with. We ordered an app. and our meals, and then sat patiently for 45 minutes with no food insight. Our waitress, Roxy (who was wonderful!!) came to the table and said that something happened to our order in the kitchen and that they were now preparing our meals. About 10 minutes later our app came out and about 20 minutes after that, our meals came out. We asked to speak to the manager who proceeded to blame it on our waitress. He had a terrible attitude and was very rude. We will not be visiting the restaurant again.

We are locals and have been to Key West Grill several times over the years but not in the last 2 years and certainly will never go back! It's so pretty but that's the extent of it! We arrived with our 3 kids, one that's just a toddler and were seated on the deck after about a 30 minute wait. We were greated by our server after about 5 minutes which was acceptable as it is June and there are lotes of tourists but it was 8:45 in the evening so not quite the rush of normal dinner hour. Anyway, our waitress, along with most all of the others was very blonde in more ways than one but seemed nice. We had already gone over the menu while waiting so we were ready to place our entire order right away. We ordered tea for everyone but the baby as he had a sippy cup already on the table. We ordered for the kids from the kids menu 2 cheese pizzas, and chicken tenders with fries @ 6.99 each. You would assume that these would include a drink as most restaurants do, right? Especially for that price! Mu husband ordered crab stuffed shrimp with baked potato and I ordered a captain's platter so he could have some of the flounder, mine also with a baked potato. They both come with Cuban slaw that is beyond a terrible blend of flavors! We didn't realize until we were leaving that everyone else around us had gotten bread when seated. When she brought our drinks, there were 5 and none of them with a lid for a child but we thought nothing of receiving 5 at the time although we didn't need one for the baby. Our food arrived and the kids seemed to enjoy their pizza but our oldest daughter said that the chicken tenders tasted funny and rubbery so she only ate her fries. My husbad's meal @ $21.99 had 6 average sized "crab" stuffed shrimp, french fries and that slaw. My platter was huge and nice looking with scallops, shrimp, oysters, flounder and again that horrid slaw. No baked potatoes in sight and no tea refills or waitress either. When we asked another waitress to find her, it was about another 5 minutes. We asked her for more tea, tartar sauce and our potatoes. She returned another 5 minutes later with all but the tea, she brought sour cream but no butter. The tartar was inedible and so again we waited another 5 minutes and asked her for butter and a manager since our food had some issues. 2 of my scallops were great but everything else tasted like scorched milk, except the flounder that was pretty good but by this time my taste buds had nothing but the scorched flavor! I didn't even think to taste the chicken tenders but I'll bet they had the same flavor. When the manager came over he said that our waitress had a really bad night which we understood because I had waited table for many years. He also said that one of their fryers was having problems getting too hot and that he would adjust our bill. Remember, I ate 2 scallops, a bite of scorched shrimp and another bite of scorched oyster, 3 bites of flounder and neither of us ate potatoes because we never got butter! My husband ate his 6 shrimp and my daughter ate her fries. The 2 little ones did enjoy their pizza. When she finally brought our bill, the manager had taken off $20 and we had been charged almost 13 dollars for 5 tea's, oh yeah, when we finally got a refill after we were finished, it was so sweet that you could not even swallow it! So here we are paying almost $72 for a non-edible meal. When we were ready to pay, it was about 10 minutes before our waitress came to collect our credit card! Needless to say, I am either going back tonight to discuss this with a manager or I will call them but this is ridiculous! There are so many good places at Broadway at the Beach, don't make the mistake of eating here. Go to Joe's Crab Shack or Landry's or Margaritaville! For God's sake not Key West!

It was rainning outside and we decided to head into the Grill for an early dinner. The hostess asked if we would like to sit outside--we of course asked if it was covered-and she looked at us like we were idiots and said of course it is covered-well it had a roof overhead, but given the fact there were period of downpours and the rain was coming in sideways-we said no thanks-she then took us to a booth for 4 and there were 5 in the party-this I could understand if they were busy(should have been a clue), but there were many tables available-we again ask to move-okay I know, at this point we should have just split-then there was our Nick-the only intelligent employee we encountered noticed that we had been waiting for some time and decided to serve our table despite it not being his table. We then were served our food-not only one entree, BUT two entrees had noticeable hairs in them-we politely asked that they be removed. The brilliant "Manager" came over to the table and states "are you folks the table that had the hairs in your food"? He apologized in his thuggish demeanor and walked away. Nick was so embarrassed-I think he actually thought his manager would act appropriately-if you make the same mistake we did at least try and get Nick's table-but my guess Nick is smarter than that and will leave soon-eat there if you dare.

I've eaten there twice. The manager was a jerk to the poor young waiter because I offered to put my own food in the box-to-go as I saw he was overwhelmed with the large crowd. The manager fussed at the waiter that I was not to be doing this. The manager took my plate from me and scraped it in the box, although I assured him that I had offered to do it and it was not necessary. My sister and her mother-in-law ate there once a couple years ago. They ordered the same seafood dish and both became so violently ill with vomiting and diarrhea at the same time several hours later they had to go to the emergency room. The husband called the restaurant and spoke to management to warn him that this particular dish was bad--so he wouldn't serve it to anyone else. The manager at the time denied the sickness was due to the restaurant and dismissed his call. No one in our extended family has ever gone back. This was a couple years ago. Maybe things have changed but there are too many other choices out there so why bother?

Have been a long time fan. I've eaten there every year since 1998. Probably the best coconut shrimp on the planet. This year (late May) we visited and ordered two crab stuffed entrees. Neither entree had any crabmeat, only a bread stuffing. The Manager attempted to correct things but stated "the kitchen guys seem to be skimping abit tonight, don't they"? He deducted some money, but I don't think we'll return. In my opinion, when ordering a crab stuffed entree at the beach, it should overflow with crab. Especially when the price exceeds $ 25.00. Proceed with caution.

I recently took family members to Broadway at the Beach for an "afternoon out". We stopped at the Key West Grill to have lunch. The hostess was very rude!!! We should have left then, but we did not. Everyone was hungry and tired. After a very long wait, we were seated. We noticed many empty tables in the resturant and could not understand the long wait. The waiter seemed preoccupied, forgot silverware, and confused our order with another table. There was only four in our party, so it was a little hard to understand the poor food service. We considered the prices high for the quality of food. Yes, we are experienced with Myrtle Beach prices, but felt the prices were about twenty to thirty percent higher than compariable resturants. I know many resturants depend on a "never-ending" supply of tourists for their income, but they should realize that Locals and frequent visitors will give them repeated business if the prices, service, and food are at least Average or above.

I've been to Myrtle Beach many times in the past and this time we decided to go into the Key West Grill. It was quiet in there, and I guess we should have taken that as a warning... the least busy place at Broadway. We ask the hostess if we could get a table by the window and she took us to quite possibly the furthest table from the window next to the bar, which is the smoking section. There were several tables near the window that were clean and available, and after asking politely if we could move to another table, we got an attitude and she threw the menus on the table and walked away. We should have just left right then and there, but I was hungry and there was a wait to sit at any other restaurant. It took our waiter forever to even get our drinks and even take our order for our food. We ordered an appetizer with our drinks and it came out only minutes before the food came to the table, so we didn't get to enjoy it. Luckily the food came our cold and underdone, so we had to send it back and it took about a half hour for cooked food to come to the table. This was probably the worst experience I have had in Myrtle Beach from any restaurant. I don't know how a place like this can stay in business. The management needs to do something. I wish I saw these reviews beforehand becuase I wouldn't have even bothered. BEWARE OF THE KEY WEST GRILL!!!!

It was over all a poor experience the last time I was there. We were seated promptly but then it took 10 minutes for someone to take our drink order and that was after we found someone to help us. You would think after getting service ourselves that they would remember to stay on top of the ball, not so! It took another 10-15 minutes to bring the drinks back. The food came about twenty minutes after that. I could understand a little if it had been busy but we were practically the only ones in there. For the price of the little bit of food you receive, I expected better service. The drinks are over priced also for the size they give you.

After reading the reviews that have previously been posted I think that a lot of them are posted by individuals who have no idea what it is like to work at a restaurant. This is a restaurant that is located at probably the largest tourist spot in Myrtle Beach. Do you really expect to be in and out in 30 minutes at a restaurant that seats 600 people? I THINK NOT! The servers there bust their asses to make the little money they do only to have people think that they make a base wage. GUESS WHAT!!! It's 2.13 an hour... GET REAL! You expect STELLAR service then you should include a STELLAR tip! Don't come to this restaurant expecting to get a lot for nothing... In fact not any restaurant! It's hard work! Also, for those of you who treat the server like they're nothing more than a peasant from the old days.. GET OFF IT.. Most of the servers are college students who are only doing this to pay their bills. In fact a lot of them are probably a lot better off than you! GET OVER YOURSELF and GAIN SOME COMMON SENSE! Next time you want to complain about something think about all that I've just said! Get a life and if you are a complainer... You're not wanted in ANY restaurant anyways!

Visited this location on October 28, 2006. Never really had a great experience at Key West, however we thought we would give it one more chance. Well, should have left well enough alone. We did have reservations, so seating was not a problem. The menu is still over priced for the quality and amount of food. Our waiter was very good and promptly took care of all of our needs. The food was good, although not as good as the price. One thing that really bothered our group was the "Pirate" that walked around and rudely stood by the table making unwanted noises with all his little toys. This was not a very good atmosphere to eat a nice dinner. I thought for a minute that I was in "Chucky Cheese" or something. I would get rid of the Pirate. Very distasteful!! Undecided on whether to return or not.

Things have definitely changed over the years for Key West. As the years progress, service gets worse, food gets worse, and prices don't decrease. Too high prices for what you get. Perhaps owner/management needs to regroup. It is a shame that a restaurant that was once such a pleasure to dine in has become a waste of time and money. WOULD NOT GO BACK UNDER CURRENT SITUATION.
