"Southern-Style Home Cooking" enticed our family of four to the Farmer's Daughter restaurant. HUGE mistake! Service was okay. The mac & cheese was bland, the chicken was dry, the mashed potatoes were watery, and the toilet was occupied.

Wow, i'm shocked at some of these reviews. The Farmer's Daughter is one of our favorite places to eat when we're in myrtle beach. The food is awesome..the service is just as good. As far as the price goes, anywhere you go for dinner is going to be at least 20 bucks. Maybe the people upset about $16.95 (for all you can eat) prices are use to dining at burger king? I would highly recommend The Farmer's Daughter. In fact when planning our trip it's on the top of the list! .

Remember when you see a buffet restaurant with no line that it's probably not that good. This was the case with Farmer's Daughter. Even my young kids didn't want to eat the mac & cheese. Save your money (and this place isn't cheap) and go somewhere else, even if it means waiting in a line. Service was not great either. We were often looking for where our server went.

All of y'all crying about four extra dollars. You're in Myrtle. You're on vacation. The Farmer's Daughter has some of the best grub around. And the service is even better. That's highly commendable. They're in a new, spacious facility, so as always, you get what you pay for.

If you want cold crab legs, scallops in congealed butter, and soggy fried chicken, then don't try this place.

We typically stay three nights - three times a year - and we hit TFD at least two out of the three nights. And we always will.

The Farmer's Daughter is our favorite restaurant in the whole world. We go to Myrtle Beach every year, and this is the meal we look forward to the most. We love the variety of food, the kids love the country foods and we love the seafood portion of the buffet. Plus the desserts are to die for! We have never gotten bad service here. We ate here a couple of weeks ago,and our drinks never even got half empty. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very clean and neat. We were there right at opening,so the place was packed. But,the waitress was right on her toes. I would definately recomend this restaurant to anyone who visits Myrtle Beach. The price might seem kind of steep, but when you account for the amount and quality of food you are getting,it is well worth the price.

My family ate here while on vacation in May '08. The food tasted like it came from a box. The salad dressing was very watered down. The cost was very high. Almost $17 for the early bird buffet. Next time we will go to Red Lobster.

My husband and I were in MB in April, 2008 and decided to eat at The Farmer's Daughter - what a mistake! The food was not that great for the price and the desserts were dried out from sitting out on the counter. For me, it was two trips in one - first and last!

Why did the chicken cross the road? To get AWAY from the Farmers Daughter! The food was disgusting and price was way too high for such poor quality food. The reason why the length of time to be seated was rated 'excellent' was because we were the only group in there. I guess the locals are smart enough to not go there...

We ate here September 22, 2007. The food was awful. The fish was dry as a rock, too many fried items, not homemade, best thing on the buffet was the jello brand cheesecake mix. The service wasn't good and the price way too high for what we got. Very disappointed. I was going to say something on the way out - but the cashier never once said hi - or how was your food - not even a thank you! Then the next day my husband was sick - for three days - had a lot of symptoms similar to food poisoning... NEVER EAT HERE!!!!

The food was ok...nothing special...and certainly not worth the 17.95 price! For the quality of food on this buffet, I would expect to pay around 8 bucks or so...The pork chops were so dry they were almost like leather, instant potatoes, limited meat selection, and not-so-tasty deserts are a few of the things you can expect. Yes, the fried chicken was pretty good, but I can get better at the KFC for 6 dollars! Now I know why there was plenty of parking spots available when I got there. This is certainly not representative of good southern cooking.

Not much country food on the bar or seafood. Not at all worth the money. You have baked apple pie but, no ice cream to put on it? They don't have a very good selection on the salad bar either. Would not recommend it all.

We were here in September 2006. We thought the food was great, found plenty to eat from the buffet, paid extra for crab legs but they were good. I personally loved the pork barbeque. The bill was quite high (dont remember exact costs- M-I-L paid for it as her treat) but could have been because added crab legs. Service was fantastic, we were there right before closing and our waitress was very attentive (again could have been because the place was empty but friendly nonetheless). Overall would I go there again? If was getting "treated" yes definitely otherwise would think twice if coming out of my wallet. Good but bit pricey.

The early bird price was $16.95 which was way over priced and did not include your beverage. The food was not home cooked. It was instant potatoe's, canned vegetables and frozen mac-n-cheese. I visited this restuarant based on reviews from this sight, but will never eat there again.

What a wonderful place. Great southern cooking!! The fried chicken was excellent. The sweet tea was awesome too! The service was also great. Out waitress checked on us frequently, and our drinks were always refilled in a timely fashion. The buffet is $18.95, and well worth every penney. I will definitely go back again!!

Every year we make it a point to stop at The Farmers Daughter, however, we will no longer be making it a usual stop as the price seems to have jumped, and my 11 year old daughter will be considered an adult next year. With the coupons we have, we were able to eat at a full seafood restaurant, all you can eat crab legs, for about the same price. (Even when eating the "early bird" special at The Farmers Daughter.) Great food, however, over priced for a "country" buffet.

We have always come to the Farmers Daughter and ate there at least twice every time we came to Myrtle Beach. However, this time we were surprised that the cost had jumped up $4.00 per person. We were expecting $12.95 like our coupon book had said. This is a serious increase for a family of 5, and we won't be going back. We were very upset and our coupon price should have been honored since it said $12.95.

I was quite impressed by The Farmer's Daughter. It wasn't a "chic" restaurant, as the name implies... However, it was homey, warm, friendly, and very well managed. The food was wonderful, with a wide variety of dishes served from the buffet. There was fresh fruit, a salad bar, and even broiled fish for the health conscious. I was very, very pleased with the service. The waitress was kind, fast, and knowledable. Wonderful dining experience all around. Five stars!

This restaurant is buffet only, but does not have crab legs. (Can be purchased at addtl. cost.) Buffet was okay, and more reasonable than some in Myrtle Beach. ($15.95 per adult.) Strawberry shortcake was very good. Place is extremely clean and spacious.
