The food and price was good at breakfast. We never have had to wait long for either our table or our food. The reason we return there is the honesty of their employees. I dropped my Pandora bracelet accidentally in their parking lot. When I called the next day to see if it had been found, they said they had it and held it for two weeks before I could get it. I had no expectation of ever having my bracelet returned...much less held for me. We will return there for breakfast every time we visit Myrtle Beach and I will recommend it to everyone for breakfast.

We have been to N Myrtle Beach several times and have always wanted to eat here. I was there again in June and took my kids...restaurant was pretty empty at 9 in the morning...seated promptly, but the food and the service was VERY slow. They have live birds in there in cages. That doesn't seem very healthy with fans blowing bird dander around. I asked the server about it...she acted like it was no big deal. Birds carry disease. They weren't in an enclosed area. They were just in cages and on some sort of a balcony. Bad food, bad service and birds. I picked the wrong restaurant that time.

We went against some of the reviews and came in at 10:30am on a Saturday to find we went to the wrong place. The service was ok but a far cry from what you expect. It took 30 min for our food to come out and it was COLD!!!!! Everything from the eggs (they look and taste like powdered egg mix) to the toast (butter didn't melt since it was ice cold and soggy) tasted like product waste from a Waffle House! There were even things floating in our drinks! When I approached the manager on duty (wouldn't give her name but was blonde and older) she got defensive and proceeded to come over to our table and get an attitude with us. I don't know what rock she crawled out from but she needs to go back!!! We will never return to this "toilet" of a restaurant and we will also make sure we tell everyone we talk to it's best to avoid as well!

We arrived at 5:25 pm for dinner. The restaurant was not busy at all. At 5:45 pm we had our order taken. At 6:35 the waitress said it was almost ready...a few other customers had been served and finished their meal by this time ...as we had already waited more than an hour for our food..we got up and left as politely as we could as the waitress informed us it was about to come out...it was a simple dinner special ...nothing out of the ordinary...it was the worst service I have ever encountered in my almost 50 years of my life and I have traveled around the world to third world countries with dirt floors in restaurants an had better service....

The quality of the food was great although the temp. Of the food could have been warmer than it was but it was edible and we were hungry. The service was also great and done with a smile. The atmosphere was very nicely put together however, there were cobwebs on the light fixtures, and around the windows as well as food particles on the floor under our feet. Many of the blinds were bent and made the window arrangements look cheap.. There was relatively no wait time to be seated and the noise level was normal for a restaurant. My biggest complaint that will make my wife and myself never return to this restaurant or suggest to relatives that come to myrtle beach area to visit with us for a vacation, is the deception in advertising this restaurant does to attract customers in an area that has over 2000 restaurants competing for business and that is this: the sign out front advertised the meal for $5.99 including drink. I figured thats cool and we need to check this place out for lunch. We eat out frequently bring our visiting families and friends out to eat at the many different restaurants here in myrtle beach and up through calabash, nc. I like tomatoes and onions so I asked waitress to include a tomato and some onions on my plate. She said no problem. The sandwich was excellent. When I got the bill, there was a $1.00 charge for one very thinly sliced piece of tomato and another $1.00 for no more than10 tiny pieces of onion on my sandwich. I have never been charged like this before at any restaurant for a tomato and onions. There should be notices someplace about these foolish charges. I can see if we ordered a side dish of vegetables or a desert but not a tomato and a few onions. I was quite upset about these charges but did not say anything to the waitress or the cashier about this. I figured if the restaurant wants to capture customers with their deception in advertising and then get them at the register with these foolish charges, then they do not really want my repetitive business in the future. I can only wonder how many other visiting vacationers have gone through the same thing at this spring house restaurant. For a few pieces of onions and a thinly slice tomato, this spring house restaurant has lost my vote of recommendation to anyone as a destination for the family meal out while on vacation. It is really not that we cannot afford the extra $2.00 for the tomato and onions,it is the princable of the whole charge we dislike. The next thing you know they could be charging you for salt and pepper to be put on the table..

My family and I have been coming to myrtle beach for our yearly vacation. This year we happened upon Spring House and could not have been happier. The atmosphere of the resturant was cozy, and the service and the food was great, and a great price on top of that. We are already making plans to go back for breakfast. I would advise anyone visiting the area to stop in and check them out, you wont be disappointed. Oh yeah when you go make sure and try the sundae it is greeeeeeaaaaattttttt.

I will not go back. I will start with the ceiling leaking on our food and it got worse. The waiter was in training which is okay if being trained, but he was not. We were there on Wenesday and they had an all you can eat alfredo special, they charged a 10 year old 80 lb. girl for an ALL YOU CAN EAT special. They also refused to allow another in our party to order chicken alfredo off of the menu instead forcing them to order the all you can special which was more expensive. Our bill for two 10 year old girls, two 17 year old girls and my wife and I was $106, but I guess we got the added pleasure of having the celing leak on us.

We are locals and have eaten here many times. We went in for lunch on New Years Day and expected the same lunch specials as usual as posted on the billboard out front. To our surprise, not the case. Although the specials were advertised they were not offered even when asked for. This is wrong and unfair to those visiting and those of us that are frequent local customers. I guess the message here is don't expect the advertised specials to be honored.

We visited this place on our last night in Myrtle Beach (09/12/09), 5 adults and two children. I'm a GREEK and have been in the Restaurant business for over 20 years. I take my Family on vacation every year to MB and on this night, we made the biggest mistake of our lives going to this place. I have never in my life experienced such poor service, the wait staff bringing the food to your table with no shame in the presentation and quality, the baked potatoes must have been reheated for three days straight, they were as black as black could be which should have tipped off the staff to not serve, the kids French fries actually dripping grease from them. My Mother had the fried chicken (Breast & drum stick) and did not find one piece of white meat within the fried chicken, it was grease burnt through and through. The kids asked for ketchup and that took almost 10 minutes for the waitress to bring to the table. I express my concern to the wait staff about the baked potatoes, burnt chicken, fries dripping and she could give a rats a#$. The worst part of this god awful experience is when I brought this up to the Manager, after a few minutes listening to him, I realized that this is a daily occurrence and that this place does not have any repeat Customers. The Health Inspector for the Myrtle Beach area really needs to pay this place a visit but in all honestly, this is the type of place that will shut itself down due to poor Customer Service, the worst quality food that could possibly be served and obnoxious wait staff. I can tell you this, if a Greek ran the place, you would have an hour wait time to be seated. The owner /owners of this establishment should be ashamed that they allow their wait staff to even present and serve food in this manner.

We ate here on our vacation and even though the food was pretty good, I'd wouldn't go back unless you have lots of time to wait. The service is VERY slow. There was another table who came in just after us, and when we were done eating and walking out the door they still hadn't had their food. It took forever for them to give us our food. Then they add 18% to your bill. I liked their food but I won't go there again.

This place was gross! I'm sorry, but not only was service very very slow, the food was not that good and our bill was outrageous because they automatically added 18% gratuity for our party of six which was actually 4 adults and a 2 year old and a 4 year old. We waited for about 30 minutes for our food and my parents ordered soup to be brought out before our dinner and it took the waitress about 15 minutes to bring it. They were not even remotely busy so we were quite confused on what the hold up was. I would never eat at this place again. I ordered a cornbeef ruben and the meat was so hard and full of fat that it was almost impossible to eat/chew. It was just flat out gross...DON'T EAT HERE!!!!!!!!

We weren't offered the regular menu only the special menu and when we paid the bill we realized why. We ordered two for one entrees and weren't told a gratuity was put on bill when ordering the two or one specials. Service was good at first, but once food was served the waitress disappeared. Drinks weren't refilled. The two for one special was around $14 each so we got two meals for $14, but $10 was added automatically for gratiuty... rip off when you weren't told until you paid the bill. Won't go back there again!

Every year we would visit the SHFR for breakfast but we haven't been to MB for the last 3 years so we were excited to return to one of our old favorites. WE WERE COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED! I ordered the veggie plate and couldn't eat the mac & cheese or cooked carrots since both were extremely soggy with absolutely no taste whatsoever. However, I was able to enjoy my side salad. My husband ordered the combination sandwich with french fries and it was good. Sadly, we will not return to SHFR ever again.

I cannot caution people enough not to go here. We thought it looked good and heard that the prices were great. My family of 7 adults and two kids went there and thought it was odd that we could just walk in and be seated since most restaurants there is a long wait. We soon knew why. Birds flew across the ceilings (gross) and the air conditioning vent leaked onto our table. As if that weren't enough, we had a waitress who clearly hated her job, and the food was bland, small portions, and all but inedible. Thankfully the price was low. We'll never make this mistake again

I thought the restaurant was incredible for an unusual reason--a waitress from new jersey, who was exceptionally nice, by the way, looked just like my mother! I wish I had asked her name--she told me her middle name was kay--i would send her a picture of my mom so she could think I was nuts, except my friend mike thought she was just like mom, too. It is a small world.

This place was a total disappointment. We went because my mother was dying for turkey and gravey. She got it, it tasted good...that's about it for the good. Our slovenly gum chewing waitress brought dinner but she have forgotten to bring the salad before. The grilled seafood platter was mostly deep fried. I didn't try it because by that time I was ready to scream. The worst of the experience was when my six year old niece noticed a spot on the ceiling moving. Yep, you guessed it, it was the largest cockroach I'd ever seen. We left.

Was quite excited to try this place after reading some of the reviews, but I have to say I was disappointed with the trip. First off, the size of the portion is not as generous as advertised. My boyfriend ordered the country fried steak and he only received one piece that was about the same size as a hamburger patty. I ordered the grilled pork chops, which were not grilled, and bent my fork while cutting the meat. While I did enjoy my slice of pecan pie for dessert, our waiter took forever in coming back with our bill. We also visited during the offseason and only counted six other tables being served, so being busy should not be an excuse.

We ate at Spring House for breakfast. They have a 10% off coupon in many of the coupon books. Be careful if you plan to use it not to order anything on the menu that has special in the name...because they are not included in the coupon. Even without the coupon the meals are reasonable...priced less than some of the breakfast chains (like Denny's, Perkins). Our food took longer to arrive than we thought it should for a table of 6 (after all, it was nothing more than eggs, pancakes french toast, sausage and bacon). It was, however hot, fresh, and delicious. The menu had a wide variety to choose from. The birds on the second floor in cages did make quite a bit of noise, but not enough to ruin your dining experience. The restaurant was bright and airy and with the greenery and birds, did remind you of a fresh spring day. All in all it was a good breakfast at a good price, and we would eat there again.

My Mother, Sister, Daughter and myself, stopped in this past week for lunch. It was our first time at the Spring House and we were just overwhelmed. The waitress as mentioned above is a real sweetie. The restaurant is very accomodating. The food came out quickly, and was just great. The desserts are TDF...I know because we tried 4 and took 4 back to the condo...lol. The reeses pie truly is TDF! The restaurant is super clean and the prices are very affordable. You won't go wrong with this place! Try the chicken salad croissant and potato salad-YUMMY!

We decided to try this restaurant because they have a 10% off coupon in one of the coupon books and found this place to be excellent. The waitress we had was from West Virginia and had the perfect personality for a waitress. She was great! They are flexible with their menu subsitutions to try to please the customers (over heard a waiter at a table near by doing the same). Seating was quick. The food was very good and fairly priced. The Reese's pie is to die for. Would definitely recommend for anyone.

My family has been coming here for years - we used to live in the area and made a point of stopping in as often as we could. Since we moved from the area, we make sure to stop in whenever we vacation in Myrtle Beach (which is frequently).

We've never had to wait to be seated. The restaurant is always clean, the service is efficient and friendly. The food always comes pretty quickly and is hot and fresh. The portions are huge. We can never finish everything. The menu is also huge - tons of selections for entrees and side dishes. There is something for everyone.

The prices are very reasonable, especially when you consider the quality and portion sizes. I just can't go to the beach without heading to Spring House for a turkey dinner!

Another reviewer mentioned faux parrots - the parrots are real, sweetie :>).

One very small critcism .. the last time we went (June, 2007) the southern green beans were very flavourless, but I suspect that was a "bad green bean day" kinda thing as I'm sure they wouldn't have changed the recipe. It did disappoint me, since I'd been salivating over the idea of the green beans for at least two weeks prior to our vacation (we just can't get those in Chicago).

On the whole, this restaurant has been a consistent performer for us since 1999. We'll be back, and we'll be looking forward to it.

I've had breakfast at the Spring House several times. Nice folks, but you can find many places on the beach to go out for breakfast that will will have a better breakfast for less,

Utensils were dirty and had to be sent back. Food was very bland for breakfast. Other restaurants in the area offer better quality.

Enjoyed the selections on the breakfast menu; the food was very good. However, the length of time to be seated was quite long, and we had to wait a while on our food, too. It was a good value for the money, though.

Warning! nasty place. A genuine greasy spoon! Noticed the filth after we ordered, were afraid to eat. The lunch wasn't very good at all, only ate a little. The carpet was unbelievably dirty, the desert case had food caked to the glass sides and there was an off smell in the restaurant. The health department must visit this place!.

I had come to Myrtle Beach with my grandmother and my mom. We were driving on the highway looking for something interesting to eat and found Spring House. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we stopped there again the next morning for breakfast (their pancakes, bacon, and belgian waffles are incredible!) and of course thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The decor is outstanding with stained glass windows and faux-parrots. I highly recommend spring house for families or any simple occasion.
