Someone should tell the help not to use his/her bare hands to put onions on a very expensive ho hum hot dog & then handle money. It grossed me out.

The sign said $2.75 for a regular hotdog so I thought I would order one to go to see if it was worth it. Then he said it would be $3.50 and I asked how much it was. And he said $2.75 for the hot dog plus tax and then a surcharge for carry out. And not very friendly he looked at me like I was wrong for asking, but the sign said nothing about being charged for walking out the door with your food. Very disappointed and will not go back ever but that is just me.

What a shame that Sam's has deteriorated to this level. It was once THE late night dog and burger place with big juicy hot dogs and the famous 5 cent cup of coffee. Now, you could buy a full steak dinner for the same price that they charge for a cut-rate skinny dog (one of those cheap RED things), an order of fries and a cup of coke over a LOT of ice. Didn't get enough soda to wash down the lousy dog? Be prepared to lay out another $1.50 for a refill. The majority of the current staff looks like they could use a long shower and they act like it's just too much trouble to take your order - not to mention being polite about it! Sorry, Sam's, buy a mop, clean up your restaurant, your employees, your menu AND your service. You've sunk too low for me! Even after a couple or three beers!

This was the first time to hit the Sam's at Myrtle Beach. Had been at the one in Garden City before quite a few times over the past years. Same great food. Cost was a little on the high side for a "dog " joint. Didint get to find out about the no refill policy, had a bottle drink. If that is the case they are one of the last not offering refills. That is one of the things that keeps me coming back to places. Service was ok - the lady at the counter was helpful with what came with what on it. The Myrtle Beach store still dosent have the same old feeling that the one in Garden City has. But I think I'll go to the one in Garden City next time.

After waiting for the lady that looks like she would be in the corner of a bowling alley smoking a pack of marlboro reds to acknowledge our presence we ordered 3 regular sized hot dogs 1 fry and 2 cokes for 15 bucks... unbelievable. Then had to pay for a refill, which by the way everyone doesn't have to do b/c shortly after my 1.49 refill another guy came up, got a refill and actually got a smile out of the lady with no charge for the drink. Even after paying the 1.49 for the refill she refilled it with the wrong soda. Don't waste your time with this place, the food really isn't that great and I love hot dogs.. I travel all over just for a good hot dog and will not add this place to my list of favorites.

Sam's used to be a place where one could get a great meal for a good price, not anymore. The last time I went the hotdog was not good and you had to pay extra for refills. That is crazy considering you just dropped all that money on a bad meal. If you want a hotdog you might as well go get one from a gas station, it will be just as good and a bunch cheaper.

The best hotdogs I've ever had. I travel and eat out a lot and don't always have to eat somewhere fancy. This is the type of small diner I would like to own. if I lived in MyrtleBeach. I could see myself waking up at 2,3,or 4am just to go to Sams Corner. Once I ate two footlongs and an order of fries and a steak sandwich, and went right back the next day. At Sams they even take time to lightly toast the bun which also makes a difference.

For a place that says they have the best hot dogs in town, a reality check is far overdue! The hot dogs were thin, the prices were inflated, and the staff were far from hospitable. I don't want to pay for a refill, I don't want to pay extra for relish, and I do want a smile now and then! Avoid Sam's and get a hot dog elsewhere!

My family has bee going to Garden City and Sam's for over 30 years. It was once an icon, but the original cast, owner Sam and family have obviously departed and left behind a dirty, expensive, disappointing shell of it's former. What a shame, a 'footlong, fries, and a cold beer' were once tradition. I can go anywhere and suffer rude help, filth, subpar food, and smell redneck sweat. But I choose to eat where I can pay the going rate f food, the staff speaks English, and has pride and tradition are stamped on the menu. Adios Sam's!

Sam's has a reputation of being a local treasure. Personally, I don't understand that. The service is rude, the food is overpriced and not all that tasty. You really can skip Sam's and rest assured that you did not miss out on a local gem.

I have been going to Garden City for the family friendly atmosphere for 6 years now. This past year I was astounded to be told that it'd cost me an extra $1.50 for a refill on a drink that was all ice in the first place!!!!

The food there is ok but it is NOT so good as to make up for nothing to drink unless you spend a fortune. The quality of the food does vary greatly according to which crew is there working. We stay easy walking distance from Sam's Corner and it's a pity they ticked me off like they did. I don't think I'll be back.

I have always enjoyed going to Sam's Corner and have been going there for over 20 years. I was very surprised on my last visit to be told that after paying $1.49 for a coke that I had to pay another $1.49 for a refill. YOU MUST BE CRAZY. You have just lost a 20 year customer and you can bet I will tell everyone that I know.

This has to be the WORST hotdog we have ever eaten. Plus they charge you 50 cents if you want relish on your hot dog! The hotdog was about the size of a pencil and the bun was hard. We had heard from a couple of people about this place and thought we would try it. WHAT A MISTAKE! Do not go here for hotdogs! I don't know about the other food and I guess we will never know cause we are not going back. Bottom line - POOR POOR POOR!

Last year I ate at Sam's corner more often then any other place on the beach I think.. That may seem a little odd considering all the different places to eat, but what put Sam's Corner above most others is that they are open 24 hours a day, so when I got hungry at around 2am it was no problem riding to Sam's and getting a hot dog and fries. They definitely deserve to be ranked one of the best on convenience alone, not to mention the food is great!

We visit MB every year and we always hit Sam's corner. Diner type atmosphere, but the hot dogs are great! The kids will like it. Coldest beer in town for sure. (It didn't hurt that the last time we were there, my friend won 100.00 on a scratch off lottery ticket she bought there.)
