I just got back from my trip and Nibils was my favorite of all the places we went to eat. It was like eating at home but on the beach. Beautiful view, it really kept my 4 year old amused while eating. Great place for kids.

At one time in Surfside, this was 'the only place in town'. Great view, good food, a place to take visitors to get the 'feel' of our little town of Surfside Beach. Used to go there a lot, and always had a positive experience.
So, after a pretty long time (of trying all of the new AND numerous places) - went back for lunch with a friend yesterday.
Everything was JUST AS GOOD - Why don't we go more often?....

We love Nibils! We eat there every time we go to the beach. The she-crab soup is FABULOUS and even my son who is a very picky eater orders it. The crab cakes are delicious also. The owner always takes the time to greet us and the staff makes you feel like you're family. ref: 14931

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant for the early bird specials. The offerings were six great dinner specials, I had the prime rib and my wife ordered the crab stuffed shrimp. The prime rib was a little underdone for me I asked to have it cooked a little more, and this was handled very quickly. The owner while very busy took the time to say hello. The service was great. In looking at the menu, it appears that the regular priced items were a good value also. We will go again soon. ref: 14829

The best thing about Nibil's is the view. The restaurant is noisy and the food just average (with no substitutions). The wait staff tries to keep up when crowded but they are loud and I don't appreciate being called "hon" or other familiar names from a stranger. When you come in, the owner tells you to seat yourself and I have never found him to take an interest in whether we enjoyed our meal or not. For tourists who want to grab a bite to eat and then slop down to the beach, you've found your spot. For others looking for a nice dining experience, go somewhere else. ref: 14675

My wife wanted to try out a new place to seat down and have a nice dinner, WOW! this place was the best, the food was great, the service was great, the price was nice. We paid $36.41 for the two of us. We had the crabcake with bake potato, stuffed jumbo shrimp and rice, stuffed mushrooms, hush puppies (the best), salad and sweet tea. Left that place full and satisfied. Even took a walk on the pier afterwards. ref: 14426

This firefighter's family owned restaurant has been our favorite for several years. The food and the atmosphere are tremendous. The father/son and daughters all work there and they seem to remember us when we arrive year after year. You will enjoy this wonderful family-oriented place right on the pier. Eat while watching the surf and the surfers and all the seagulls running around on the sand. We have never been disappointed with Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner at very reasonable prices. This is my favorite restaurant to visit on my twice yearly trips to Myrtle Beach Area. It is a MUST VISIT dining experience. I love the ocean view ambiance. The food is excellent and all at a fair price. The owner seems like a great guy and loves to chat with the diners. ref: 13990

LOVE their breakfast. If you like seafood with your eggs then try the seafood omlet, it is to die for. The omlet with fresh fruit and a side of their wonderful home fries is a great way to start the day....When we eat here in the summer we go for breakfast and then hit the beach and are set until dinner...This is one of our fav Myrtle Beach area restaurants. As for some of the negative reviews, as good as Denny's yea right! Try getting a seafood omlet with an ocean view there. And the locals there complain about almost everything. I have eaten at Nibils for so many years I hate to admit - all the way back to when we walked on the beach to watch the sun rise with our grandparents and not minding the early hour because the biggest treat was to have breakfast at Nibils! Our the years we have taken our own kids and eaten there as often as possible - after we sold the family beach house and came back to the beach for a visit, we stayed at the Days Inn next door just to be close to Nibils. Never had a bad meal and the staff treats you like family - remembers you from year to year - you wouldn't beleive how wonderful they made my grandmother feel when we took her back a few years ago - they all remembered her and came over to speak. This is one place we would be devasted to loose if it ever closed or changed hands. Our favorites are the fruit and dip or pancakes at breakfast and the better than any I've ever had shrimp salad at lunch. We have had several different entrees at dinner and they were all good. If you have to wait, it's worth it, and no more noisy than any other place that offers a family atmosphere, and yes the view is part of the appeal! ref: 13756

I have to agree with the so many reviews here. Food is excellent but the service is not so up to par. When my tea glass is empty and the place is not too crowded, you can only blame it on poor service. Owners are super nice but staff could use a talking to.
Nancy and I will eat there again. Looking forward to improvements in service !!

If you are looking for great seafood or a good piece of prime rib this is the place. My wife and I found ourselves returning 4 times while on vacation. Everything we tried was great. The servers are polite and friendly. The owners are great to chat with and what a great place to dine. The view from the pier is great and relaxing. Whenever we go to Myrtle Beach, we ALWAYS eat breakfast every day at Nibil's! The food is excellent, the view is fantastic (we always get a table by the window so we can see the ocean!) the wait staff is wonderful (the back rubs are especially nice!).........what more could you want? My wife and I spent a week in Surfside Beach the summer of 2007. We were so thankful to have lunch at Nibils. Loved the atmosphere. We were introduced to She Crab Soup there, it was the best seafood soup I have ever eaten. We are dreaming of our return to Nibils - Keep the soup hot for us!

My family dined at Nibils early one evening. There was only one other group dining at the time we arrived so we did not have to wait at all and got a perfect seat overlooking the shore. The seafood was excellent with very generous portions. The hush puppies were fantastic! Credit cards are accepted and the people were great. We have been going to Nibbles ever since we started vacationing in Surfside Beach in 1990. I was in High school at that time and still love it just as much now. The owners are wonderful and the waitresses are so personable. A memorable moment of mine is when I was pregnant with my 1st baby one of the girls (who has been there forever) talked to my belly and the next year remembered that she talked to my belly and remembered my daughters name! She seemed so excited to meet her.
We look forward to going to Nibbles all year long.
They are patient with the kids and adults too!( we usually have a big party)
So, Thank You to all, we look forward to seeing you over the week of the 4th of July again.

We live very close to Nibils and have eaten there once for dinner and once for breakfast. I was not at all impressed with their breakfast, you can get much better food for your money at Denny's. I was not impressed with their dinners either. Not much selection and nothing special. I agree with other reviewers who said it's a tourist place. We came upon this restaurant by chance. We were staying right down the street and where walking around and my grandkids wanted to go there instead of eating at the condo. So we stopped and it was wonderful the staff was friendly and the food was GREAT!!! We went back 3 times that week and eat breakfast and lunch. Thanks for your kindness and great times. My family are from N.C.and we visit Oceanlakes campgroung several times a year,and each time we look foward to visit Nibils Restaurant ,the reason is that we reall love the quality of the food and servive we get and also last but not least is the smoke free atmosphere.The waitereses are the friendliest in Myrtle Beach,and so is the food. We have tried several restaurants in the area and none compare in any catagory.Please keep up the good work and don't change a thing and we will be looking foward to seeing you in the spring.God bless all of you and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This restaurant is awesome! The service is good southern service with a splash of northern hurry up! No other place on the pier is going to give you this kind of service. People do complain about waiting but that's how it is when you're the best! I waited for 10 minutes and it's hard to leave. The staff makes you feel at home. We've been eating at Nibils on vacation for 15 years or more. You won't ever find better prime rib anywhere and the broiled seafood is outstanding. The she crab soup is the best of anywhere we've ever eaten it. The prices are very fair and the portions generous. The view is fabulous. The family that owns it are all very friendly. We usually have dinner there at least 3-4 times per week when we vacation there. We've grabbed lunch and eaten it on the beach and it was always very good, too. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for a seat, but that's how it is when you're business is successful. ref: 8926

We're locals and visit Nibil's often - for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - all fantastic! They do accept credit cards. The owners are terrific people and service is always excellent. Meals are consistently great. For breakfast, love the fresh squeezed orange juice and fresh pineapple, or fresh strawberries (and their dipping sauce for strawberries is to die for!). We have a group of 15 that travel together once a year to Surfside Beach. For the past 10 years, our vacation would not have been a vacation without a Prime Rib from Nibil's! My husband goes as far as not even trying one from any other restaurant because as he says, "it won't even compare to Nibil's!" The view is just an extra when visiting this restaurant. It isn't a very large place which makes your visit much more personalized. Not only do you receive an excellent meal with excellent service, you leave there with a whole new group of friends! The breakfast experience with the Irish potatoes fulfilled my expectations. Wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. View fantastic. Had such a great experience that had to go back for lunch several days later on vacation and had the shrimp salad, which was every bit as good as the ones that I have had in Baltimore. My husband and I discovered Nibils over two years ago while searching for a retirement home in Murrells Inlet....We love it...especially the boiled shrimp...it is cold and peeled..we always get 2 pounds and two salads and the shrimp sauce will knock your shoes off....everyone is so friendly and the view is to die for.....soon we will be locals and plan to visit often..... ref: 8166

When we travel from Southern Illinois, we always eat at Nibils at least once, usually twice. We ate dinner our second night in town, then lunch on our way out of town. Our dining experience at Nibils was excelllent. Their seafood kabob was delicious as well as the deserts! The view was excellent, right on the pier! The best part of our dining experience was our server, Sarah. She was byfar the friendliest, most charming server we have had to date! I'm a local and have eaten at Nibil's several times and was not impressed each time, the food was fine but it wasn't *that* great....and especially not for the prices they charge, that's for sure. It's obviously more suited for tourists and the atmosphere (being on the oceanfront). I guess speaking from a local's perspective, there's just too many other better places to choose from when dining out than Nibil's. ref: 7213

This is the first time my family and I have stayed at Surfside Beach. I read all the excellent reviews about Nibils online and was not disappointed. Nibil's has been my breakfast place for many years. The food quality and the service are unsurpassed, as is the view. Nibil's is a true family run restaurant with a smoke-free environment and is very child-friendly. Great food and service. With a liitle bit of a wait for breakfast the wonderful food sure did come out fast!! The service and food was so good for breakfast we went back for dinner. We made reservations(suggested by our a.m. server) and we had just as good as meak as we had in the morning if not better!! The stuffed shrimp and crabcakes are out of the world!!!! ref: 6894

We have been going to Surfside for many years.We always
go to Nibil's for breakfast at least three times. The orange juice can't be beat. Lots of things have changed but Nibil's remains a gem at Surfside Beach. ref: 6639

You cannot find a better breakfast restaurant than this on the Grand Strand. The luncheons are excellent and the special Dinners are well worth the visit.
Jack Cahill, the owner, is a perfect host but his wife is the real charmer. The staff is really outstanding and includes members of the family as cooks and waitresses. All very efficient and pleasant to be with at any time.
The location, overlooking the beautiful Surfside Beach is a taste of real GRAND STRAND.
Hard to beat the Irish for making people feel at ease and happy. ref: 6542

I have been to Nibil's at least once a year for the past 6 years with my husband, and honestly, the best thing about Nibil's is the location and the view of the beach. You may actually get to see the beach if you're lucky enough to be seated at the windows or at a table where you don't have to sit with your back to the view. The food is average at best, and the service is ok. I guess we keep going back because it's at the pier and you can grab an average hot dog if the wait isn't too long. I guess I keep hoping that the food and service will get better. ref: 6200

The family who runs this establishment is kind, and welcoming, and they are great at what they do. Wonderful location, atmosphere, food, service, and hospitality make it an amazing place to go for any meal. The pancakes at breakfast, and chili fries at lunch are phenomenal. Me and my family have been going to myrtle beach for as long as I can remember, and one year we traveled away from where we were staying and found Surfside Pier and Nibils. They had AMAZING food, and GREAT SERVICE! I love thier shirts too! Last year while we were on vacation we went fishing off the Surfside Pier and then came in for a late afternoon lunch at Nibils, I had the chicken fingers and fries which was DELICIOUS! I live in Garden City Beach and Nibels is one of my favorite places to go. They have a chicken salad plate with fruit that is to die for and the grilled salmon in white wine is terriffic. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I saw the reviews for this restaurant on the internet. Therefore, my husband and I drove down one morning from North Myrtle Beach. We were there on vacation. The food was delicious. You'll know how to cook grits!!!! The fresh pineapple gave us reason to return the second time for breakfast.

When my family used to visit Surfside 15 years ago we routinely ate at Nibils. Last week I drove 1-1/2 hours from Oak Island to have breakfast and specifically get some of Jack Cahill's Irish breakfast potatos. My husband and I ate here for the first time on our honeymoon. We have beeen married for 7 years and 2 kids later we eat here EVERYTIME we come within an hour of the restaurant! The hash browns are delicious and ham and cheese omelette is to die for! The service is prompt and very family friendly. Nibils has been a must for our families for 10 years! The She Crab Soup is to die for! The menu is deverse from Corn Dogs to Steaks and Fresh Seafood. Truly one of the best Family Restaurants in ALL of the Greater Myrtle Beach area. Have eaten dinner there with friends from that part of the island several times, and have subsequently stopped by for breakfast prior to several business trips in that direction. The view at both morning and night was spectacular. The Irish food selection was a nice plus for a place with seafood and American dishes, and the hush puppies were the best anywhere below Southport, NC. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous, and the service was incredible, notwithstanding the large crowds that seemed to come through this smaller family restaurant. ref: 1741

I took some out of town guest there for a late lunch last week. It took quite some time for them to figure out who had to serve us. An adorable busboy brought our drinks. Finally we got our food and it was really good. But then a waitress began to vacuum around our feet. It was not only annoying but you could see the dust flying in the sunlight and there was that old vacuum smell. The kicker was when she left it running and went to talk to a friend. I heard the table behind us complain to her about this. Upon paying I said something to the cashier about it and was told with a snap that they vacuum everyday at 2 pm. I had to show ID with my credit card because a lady had her purse stolen at the Bi-Lo the day before.? It was ridiculous. I tipped the busboy and left...for good. I work in housekeeping and am sure to throw out all Nibil menus from our 720 units. ref: 1702
