I've been going there for ten years this is one of the best places to get great food and service. The family owned restaurant makes the experience there one of the best for me.. People alway seem to want to talk about the food and the views of the beach. I like to call this place my hidden gem... P/s I think they have the best crab cakes tooooooo........ All CRAB NO FILLERS!!!!!!

We used to stay at the hotel at the pier mainly because of Nibils. We have not been back to Surfside since the move. Even though we have not been to the new location, the review marks are set at "excellent" because, based on years of past experiences at the former location, they are well-deserved and leaving them at the default "average" may give folks the wrong idea. Would rather stay in quiet Surfside than Myrtle Beach but but probably will not. Another golden egg broken by politicians.

This will be our first year at Surfside Beach without Nible's on the pier.We have been loyal customers for since forever. The breakfasts were great. The view of the ocean, the smell of the salt air made it all a time to remember. I must also mention the staff;nothing less than fantastic. This place is already missed but we will make the trip to the new location.Great job folks. Visitors to the grand strand;don't miss this place.

Just went to Jack's new location up in Myrtle Beach. Great place!! The new restaurant is beautiful, and all the staff has a happy glow about them now that this "location issue" is over and done with. The food was great, just as always. The place is about one-third larger than the old dining room. Surfside's loss will be a great gain for the folks up in Myrtle Beach that will come to know Nibil's for breakfast and lunch. Good luck and best wishes, Jack!

So I just visited the NEW Nibils Restaurant located in Myrtle Beach since their move from Surf Side. I have to say...WOW...thank goodness they kept the same amazing food and service!!!!! I love you guys...thank goodness the bad choice of the city government at Surfside brought you closer to Myrtle Beach!! The stuffed mushrooms & hush puppies are my favorite!!!!!!!

We have been loyal customers it seems like forever. The last time we were there though they told us that they might have to re-locate because there lease was up. I remember when Hugo hit in 1990 and took the pier out and Nibils stayed and the restaurant was re-built. They told us after all these years they would have to put in a silent bid and the highest bidder would take the property. Shame on the city. After having such a wonderful group of people there and to kick them out like strangers. Anyway we would like to know of there new location! can anyone help?

Ok the first thing I have to say is that for the few people on here that have written bad reviews, you either hit them on a bad day, or you are the sick type of person who likes to complain just because they can. Nibils is THE BEST place to get a good meal in the entire Myrtle beach area. It is my favorite restaurant and I live in Tennessee, which has good, diverse meals that are made home cooked and delicious. But it doesn't get better than nibils! I have NEVER had a bad meal here, and ive been com in here for 13 years. We go at least 3 times during our weekly vacations in the summer, so I've tried pretty much everything on the menu! When I was younger I would usually go for a pb+j sandwich with your choice of either fries or potato chips. Now I usually choose their flakey, yummy flounder with fries or a baked potato. Their she crab soup is to die for no matter how much salts in it (for the complainer several below me). Every item on the breakfast menu is tasty! But altogether, nibils isn't a place to go to sit and critique your food, service, and happiness. It's a place to go to get a good family meal, to go and sit with your family and friends and talk and laugh, to enjoy the great view and atmosphere. Nibils is a tradition, NOT something to mock and complain about. If you don't like nibils, don't go. But don't sit there and douse other peoples spirits about it! So for the people out there looking for a scrumptious meal, service so friendly you'll feel like part of the family, and an amazing atmosphere, go to Nibils! You WON'T be disappointed!

Nibils has been my absolute favorite resturaunt ever since I was a little girl. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful! I still love seeing all the wall decorations and looking out over the beach every time I come! The waits never long, and the waiters are friendly every time! I will enjoy eating at this resturaunt for years to come!

Nibils is EXCELLENT -- so yummy! I used to visit them in Surfside but just visited them at their new location at 3301 N. Kings Hwy Myrtle Beach. I heard they had to move from the old place, but this new place is awesome!

The breakfast omelets are huge and tasty. The french toast is to die for, and the bacon is amazing. I had lunch the other day too with my girlfriend and could not get over how delicious the buffalo shrimp and she crab soup appetizers were. Then we had the crab cake sandwich and bacon cheese burger with fries (p.s. order hush puppies on the side), and were so stuffed but loved our lunches. Portion sizes are huge, the service was friendly and the price was right -- on top of having a GREAT meal. I'll come back for every visit in Myrtle Beach. If you are looking for Nibils' new address, their website is nibilsrestaurant.com.

It sounds like no one has commented since the restaurant was relocated further toward north Myrtle beach. From what I hear, and I won't be able to confirm until next week, Nibbles is no longer located on the water front. Have always enjoyed the Nibbles experience when it was on the beach near Surfside. I guess I will have to check it out and report further when I get there.

We go to Nibils every time we are in Myrtle. I love the She Crab soup! This place has an atmosphere of a local "go-to" place. The people that work there are "locals" and it has a homey atmosphere. This is stuff I LOVE but I'm sure isn't the atmosphere that everyone is looking for.

This was at the new location on Kings Hwy in Myrtle Beach where they recently moved. We had lunch today and were very disappointed. I had the fish sandwich for $8.99 was nothing more than a frozen piece of fish deep fried / greasy with a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato on a hamburger bun. My wife had a BLT sandwich and the bacon was burned, the cup she crab soup was good. Total bill was $21.00 for lunch with water to drink! Not Happy :>(

This website needs to be updated. Nibils is no longer at surfside pier. It moved to the northern part of Myrtle Beach on business 17. I am very disappointed to find this out. I had been eating at Nibils for 20 years. I would go to Surfside Beach at least 2 or more times a year. The last 3 years I have not been able to go because of some issues. I just got back to Surfside Beach for a 5 day trip after 3 years and found out Nibils had moved. I stay in Ocean Lakes and would eat there at least 2 or 3 times a day during my stays. It was the highlight of my trips. All that is now gone. I refuse to drive to the new location for just a plain restaurant. This was there opening weekend and it was packed. When I was finally seated it felt just like all the other plain restaurants in Myrtle Beach. The oceanfront was the best spot and I think they made a big mistake moving. The ocean gave it that special feeling. I hope another oceanfront restaurant opens in there old place. It would surley get all the old Nibils regulars. Nibils you were the best, but sad to say I will not be returning. I will be finding a new place in Surfside or Garden City for my dining. This review is based on the new location.

We discovered Nibils 4 years ago when we started spending a week in Oct. in Surside Beach. Our house is just up the beach & my husband & I like to walk down for breakfast. I love the fresh pineapple/yogurt comination &, of course, the veiw. Breakfast at Nibils is high on the priority list & one of the first things we do when we get to town. This year as a group (11 - not easy to accomodate) we all walked down for a casul dinner. There were no disappointments. My husband & a large group of golfers go the Myrtle Beach in the spring & they too have enjoyed Nibils. Love the local & can't wait till next year.

I have to agree with the previous review in regards to the parking issue when eating at Nibil's. It is a racket! My husband had to leave the restaurant, and walk across the street to add money to the meter in fear of getting a ticket! So much for a relaxing bite & a beer by the sea. I stayed behind because we hadn't even gotten our check yet. (Parking time limit is 1 hour.) This is in no way an unfavorable review of Nibil's Restauant, which will always be a favorite place for great food & value. It is a criticism of the City Of Surfside for such a poor solution to a parking issue. Not very hospitable. I've heard the City now owns the pier and hope that doesn't pose changes for Nibil's. It is one of the mainstays of Surfside Beach.

What an everlasting shame that such a wonderful restaurant as Nibils will be no longer, not to mention the truly wonderful family that ran it for all those years. Surfside Town Council why don't you go after places like Scotty's where the drugs are and will most likely get worse as time goes by. Nibils you are far better off and may your clientele triple.

This is a copy of letter sent to Town of Surfside Beach in reference to parking ticket at the pier while eating at Nibils: Oh, and if you think my action(s) (see below) only hurts Nibils then you have the Town of Surfside Beach to thank for that: As always, made a special trip to Surfside Beach to visit our favorite place to eat breakfast or lunch for the past 20+ years – Nibils. For 38 years – we stayed at the same house on 16th Ave South in Surfside until it was sold approx 5 years ago; since then we stayed at other houses in Surfside Beach. This year we stayed in North Myrtle Beach – first time ever and made the trip down just for Nibils. THIS WAS OUR LAST YEAR FOR ANYTHING IN SURFSIDE BEACH! Do you understand that??? After receiving a $25.00 parking ticket at the pier we have decided Surfside Beach including Nibils will get none of our business. As we were leaving the parking lot we saw 8 other cars with tickets. I realize it was designed to confuse people. It's a racket and I hope others will be mad enough to take away their business. Don’t be stupid and think one person doesn’t matter. I talk to a lot of people and share my experiences – good and bad. Stop being greedy and raise funds some other way. Oh, and I plan to print this complaint at Myrtle Beach Restaurants.com on their reviews section.

Are you kidding me?,,, Nibil's is an awesome place. My wife and I stayed in Surfside for the first time in 1995. We have since begun staying in South MB but always make a few visits to the best restaurant in the area. My wife loves the crab cakes as well as the She Crab Soup (the best we've evr had). The scallops are excellent as well. I've never had a bad meal and the staff are simply the best and most courteous. Love the atmosphere and decor. we always reccomend Nibil's to all our friends that visit. We will always be back.

Have been frequenting Nibils for 11 years and never have been disappointed. Nibils is an icon for the area. My son's favorite dish is the crab-stuffed shrimp. I pretty much like everything on the menu, especially the new shrimp and grits. Would not want to see Nibils leave the special place it holds right on the beach, overlooking the beautiful blue Atlantic! Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Nibils is always a family treat and when visitors come they always request we make at least one visit to Nibils! Thanks Jack and your family for all the wonderful times and great meals. May you be right there at SSB for years to come!

Hats off to Nibil's! You don't find many places like this anymore. Nothing beats a meal by the sea cooked to perfection. The view is spectacular and only matched by the low country charm of this place. Relaxing atmosphere with excellant food, service and price. A real jewel to the Surfside/Myrtle Beach Area. Will always be a favorite spot.

Excellent absolutely excellent - atmosphere is awesome - right on the ocean literally- sit anywhere in the restaurant and see the ocean. The most friendly and you feel like kings and queens - the food is superb and steaks are #1 black angus steaks and their seafood is all fresh and cooked to perfection. The prices are in line with all other restaurants and even lower in some cases. Something on the menu for every member of the family - every one will fine their niche and suit them perfectly. What more can I say! we could eat every meal here and be happy - we were once residents of surfside! .

We have been going to Nibil's every year we visit for about 10 years now. We love this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We had 5 in our party and everyone of enjoyed our meals. My mom-in-law had salmon ad she was delighted with it. My Husband had the she crab soup and the salmon, as well. He said the best she crab soup he has ever had. My dad-in-law had spaghetti and was pleased. Brother-in-law had fish sandwich with fries and said was fantastic. I had the fried shrimp with onion rings---YUM-O! We love the wait staff and the location. We have never been disappointed!

We love this place. Go to it every year, very casual with family atmosphere. Love the She Crab Soup and Oyster Salad, delicious. The staff was nursing a wounded crow that was living outside the resturant on the beach side. So sweet of them. I have found that crows eat everything, meat, grain, seafood so information for the staff. So drop by, see the outside crow and eat the best meal in Surfside.

My wife and I had dinner there during the week, we had to wait a long time for the waitress to come over and she did not tell us about the specials for the night. The She Crab Soup was too salty and could have used more crab meat. My wifes Prime Rib dinner was very good although again a lot of salt was used. There was a generous portion of meat. My fried scallops and fried shrimp were good. Nibils does offer good value for the money. Portions are generous. Overall, we would definitely go back. Noise level is high but view is great.

I've been vacationing in Surfside Beach every summer for the past 18 years. Each year my family and I have visited Nibils for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We don't just return to Nibils for the great food and lovely view of the shore, we also go for the fabulous waitstaff. The owner and his employees are always attentive and treat us with respect. Their breakfast is diverse and well priced, their lunch and dinners have always been fresh and well made, and their she crab soup is something I greatly look forward to every summer. I'm sure my family and I will be frequenting Nibils in the summers to come. And to the man below me.. You are obviously the kind of person who loves to complain just for the sake of complaining. So might i suggest you see a doctor about that stick in your butt and stay in Ohio where people are used to serving impatient jerks like you.

I recently visited Nibils Restaurant while on vacation from Ohio. This place must only be good for breakfast or the locals are just used to eating terrible food. I ordered meat that had to be cooked twice because it was obviously raw and they still did not get it right. When I removed the meat from the bun the bun was covered in red blood from the meat wish I certainly showed to the waiter. The waiter told the resturant manager who tried to offer me something else I refused, and was charged for my meal since I ate my side dishes while waiting on them to figure out how to cook meat. My wife ordered meat well done and it's obvious the only thing this place does well is over cook or under cook meat. The old man running the place must be losing his sight he couldn't tell good meat from bad. I was charged regardless the meal was tossed. It's obvious the restaurant manager isn't eating food here anymore. I have spoke with the Health Department pass on this place.

We have been going to Litchfield for 6 years and have never missed going to Nibils. The view of the pier and friendliness of staff would top the list. We have never had an unpleasant meal or experience. The fact that the staff has been there forever, speaks volumes for the owners. The great atmosphere and food will forever keep us returning to Nibils. I can not believe that the city is EVEN thinking of taking the pier away from the businesses there!! It would be a vey sad day to see them move from that beautiful spot.

Just got back from first visit. My wife and i were very pleased with experience and food. We went at 6:30pm when the wait at other places is long and had to wait a couple minutes. Our waitress was the friendliest we have had in myrtle beach. Good keeping me filled up with tea and bringing us stuff we wanted. Scallops, she crab soup, and onion rings were wonderful. Prime rib was on special for $13.99 and was okay. beautiful view. Small and crowded but we will be back. Most reasonable prices on food we have seen for sea food.

My family have vacationed in Myrtle Beach for the last 15 years. We would always look forward to Nibils one nite of the week. The seafood was so fresh and perfectly cooked. Oysters melt in your mouth. The prime rib was unbelievabley delicious. The atmosphere of looking at the waves, and people walking on the shore was priceless. We will forever come back to Nibils. Thanks for this wonderful pier restaurant.

I have been a customer at Nibils for the last seven years and have enjoyed every moment in this restaurant. You are greeted as soon as you walk in the front door, seated and again welcomed by your server. Service has always been timely, the food incredible, the view spectacular and the atmosphere is friendly and very sociable. I love Nibils shrimp salad/fruit platter (they make their own dipping sauce!). Chicken salad is delicious. How does a restaurant provide their customers with fresh, tasty fruit even in Dec.- Feb. I don't know, ask Jack Cahill.....but he does. Their breakfast is always great and then a walk on the beach. I hope and pray that Jack continues with "his" Nibils....it just won't be the same without him and his staff.

I visit Myrtle Beach once or twice every year to visit my grandparents, and probably my favorite place to eat there is Nibils. The seafood is definitely the best around, and I especially like the clam chowder. The veiw is wonderful, looking out on the beach and I like to head down there after eating. The atmosphere is excellent, with plants hung from the ceiling, and a general cozy feel about the place that definitely portrays the "restaraunt on the beach" theme. The service is also great, and eating there frequently you get to know all the employees. So, all in all, this is a very nice little place to eat, perched right at the base of the peir. I definitely hope other prople will come there and enjoy it.

We have been coming to Nibils for quite a long time being locals originally from up north and think it is an outstanding restaurant here on the Grand Strand. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner there 3-1/2 years ago and were treated very well and all of our guests were impressed with the restaurant. Jack and his family and staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. The food is terrific; I love the scallops; my husband loves the fries! The Grand Strand tourists and locals are fortunate to have such a wonderful family restaurant available to them for many years.

We love to eat breakfast at Nibils!! The view mixed with the lively atmosphere of the restaurant makes you feel so welcome!! It's a great way to bring in a wonderful day at the beach. There dinner is usually pretty good- but tends to be hit & miss as far as freshness. I've eaten there before and it's been my best dinner of the whole week- and also have eaten there and it's been the worst. The price is a bit high for the amount of food and value. Overall I do recommend Nibils- especially for breakfast. Gotta have some omelets and hashbrowns!!

We have been staying in the Surfside Beach area since 2004 when my sister and her family owned a house right next door. We knew it as the "great small breakfast place on the pier". Since 2007, we have been staying in North Litchfield and on Saturday night we always look to go out to dinner after the long drive from Ohio. One of the friends we were with asked if we wanted to go to Nibils because they had the best she-crab soup they had ever had. I didn't know where they were talking about until we pulled in and said "oh, that's the breakfast place I was telling you about"! Well, the she-crab was the best I had ever had from the Long Island Shore to the Florida Gulf Coast! I could have made a meal on that and the hush puppies alone. I ordered the scallops that were the special and they melted in your mouth like butter and I liked the very light breading they used. Not at all heavy or greasy. Only problem was, we all had to take doggy bags home as not one person in our party of 11 could finish their meal. We loved our waitress who tried to pass herself off as being from Surfside, but her Long Island accent didn't fool us as we are NY/NJ natives ourselves. The best part was when our friends from Michigan who recomended we go there for dinner were complaining that they have been trying to get the recipe for the she-crab soup for years and they wouldn't give it up. I left with the envied recipe, the highlight of our vacation to the beach this year. We will be back again and now we know Nibils isn't only the great place for breakfast!

Almost gave up finding this place, but tried one last idea...could it actually be on Surfside Beach, not Myrtle Beach, as the TripAdvisor address suggests? It was at Surfside Pier in Surfside, just a hop and skip down 17. I got the seafood platter at lunch. Excellent crabcakes, not the cheap, deviled crab cakes you find in most seafood restaurants. Big chunks of real crab that you could taste. Good fish; moist and flaky orange roughy. Scallops and oysters were also very good. Slaw left a bit to be desired, but that is the case in most restaurants. I even liked the tartar, which some places really ruin. Could have used baked potatoes and hush puppies, but they don't have them at lunch, apparently. Otherwise, very good. My kids liked it, and that says a lot. Great view of the beach and pier.

I am from Ohio, now living in Mooresville, NC and love Nibils. Funny how the "people forom Ohio" or yankees as they are referred to as (not really, it is the midwest, if we ever run into each other I will bring a map and a history book) don't like a restaraunt, they are labeled (please see last review).... seems a bit behind the times with a dash of old school bigotry, same thing most Southerners tell me they hate being labled by Yankees..... but I digress, Nibils is great, food, service and atmosphere. P.S. please do not let it get out where the owners are from or our last reviewer aka rocketscientist may not wish to return.

My husband and I got away for a long needed vacation and time together. I prayed for a wonderful time since we had little. Everything I hoped for was in Surfside and that definitely includes Nibils! The staff was so sweet and someone complained on these reviews about a stranger calling them "hon," well, you can call me that anytime and they did and blessed our day, as well. You don't find that in this crazy world anymore and I for one am grateful and encourage them to try to lift the day for others ongoing. The food was tasty and cooked right and I still want the recipe for their hashbrowns! :) The atmosphere and windows all around to view the sea was wonderful. I hope to come back again and bring my family too. :) Thanks to all of the waitresses for offering that extra smile! :)

At one time in Surfside, this was 'the only place in town'. Great view, good food, a place to take visitors to get the 'feel' of our little town of Surfside Beach. Used to go there a lot, and always had a positive experience. So, after a pretty long time (of trying all of the new AND numerous places) - went back for lunch with a friend yesterday. Everything was JUST AS GOOD - Why don't we go more often?.... The view, the food, the service ....We are lucky to have Nibils!

My wife and I arrived at the restaurant for the early bird specials. The offerings were six great dinner specials, I had the prime rib and my wife ordered the crab stuffed shrimp. The prime rib was a little underdone for me I asked to have it cooked a little more, and this was handled very quickly. The owner while very busy took the time to say hello. The service was great. In looking at the menu, it appears that the regular priced items were a good value also. We will go again soon.

The best thing about Nibil's is the view. The restaurant is noisy and the food just average (with no substitutions). The wait staff tries to keep up when crowded but they are loud and I don't appreciate being called "hon" or other familiar names from a stranger. When you come in, the owner tells you to seat yourself and I have never found him to take an interest in whether we enjoyed our meal or not. For tourists who want to grab a bite to eat and then slop down to the beach, you've found your spot. For others looking for a nice dining experience, go somewhere else.

My wife wanted to try out a new place to seat down and have a nice dinner, WOW! this place was the best, the food was great, the service was great, the price was nice. We paid $36.41 for the two of us. We had the crabcake with bake potato, stuffed jumbo shrimp and rice, stuffed mushrooms, hush puppies (the best), salad and sweet tea. Left that place full and satisfied. Even took a walk on the pier afterwards.

This firefighter's family owned restaurant has been our favorite for several years. The food and the atmosphere are tremendous. The father/son and daughters all work there and they seem to remember us when we arrive year after year. You will enjoy this wonderful family-oriented place right on the pier. Eat while watching the surf and the surfers and all the seagulls running around on the sand. We have never been disappointed with Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner at very reasonable prices. This is my favorite restaurant to visit on my twice yearly trips to Myrtle Beach Area. It is a MUST VISIT dining experience. I love the ocean view ambiance. The food is excellent and all at a fair price. The owner seems like a great guy and loves to chat with the diners.

LOVE their breakfast. If you like seafood with your eggs then try the seafood omlet, it is to die for. The omlet with fresh fruit and a side of their wonderful home fries is a great way to start the day....When we eat here in the summer we go for breakfast and then hit the beach and are set until dinner...This is one of our fav Myrtle Beach area restaurants. As for some of the negative reviews, as good as Denny's yea right! Try getting a seafood omlet with an ocean view there. And the locals there complain about almost everything. If theydon't like living in a tourist town they need to move.....

I have eaten at Nibils for so many years I hate to admit - all the way back to when we walked on the beach to watch the sun rise with our grandparents and not minding the early hour because the biggest treat was to have breakfast at Nibils! Our the years we have taken our own kids and eaten there as often as possible - after we sold the family beach house and came back to the beach for a visit, we stayed at the Days Inn next door just to be close to Nibils. Never had a bad meal and the staff treats you like family - remembers you from year to year - you wouldn't beleive how wonderful they made my grandmother feel when we took her back a few years ago - they all remembered her and came over to speak. This is one place we would be devasted to loose if it ever closed or changed hands. Our favorites are the fruit and dip or pancakes at breakfast and the better than any I've ever had shrimp salad at lunch. We have had several different entrees at dinner and they were all good. If you have to wait, it's worth it, and no more noisy than any other place that offers a family atmosphere, and yes the view is part of the appeal!

I am a native of Horry County, now living in Conway. I love the view so much, but everything I've ever eaten there was GREAT, which is why I keep going back. I've been going there since it first opened. I just don't get over there as often as I'd like.

I have to agree with the so many reviews here. Food is excellent but the service is not so up to par. When my tea glass is empty and the place is not too crowded, you can only blame it on poor service. Owners are super nice but staff could use a talking to. Nancy and I will eat there again. Looking forward to improvements in service !! Richard J. and Nancy K.

If you are looking for great seafood or a good piece of prime rib this is the place. My wife and I found ourselves returning 4 times while on vacation. Everything we tried was great. The servers are polite and friendly. The owners are great to chat with and what a great place to dine. The view from the pier is great and relaxing. So, for a nice evening meal and a quiet walk on the beach try Nibils Restaurant. We highly reccommend it. Ed and Diane from Warsaw, Ohio.

My wife and I spent a week in Surfside Beach the summer of 2007. We were so thankful to have lunch at Nibils. Loved the atmosphere. We were introduced to She Crab Soup there, it was the best seafood soup I have ever eaten. We are dreaming of our return to Nibils - Keep the soup hot for us!

My family dined at Nibils early one evening. There was only one other group dining at the time we arrived so we did not have to wait at all and got a perfect seat overlooking the shore. The seafood was excellent with very generous portions. The hush puppies were fantastic! Credit cards are accepted and the people were great. Definitely worth the drive from North Myrtle Beach.

We have been going to Nibbles ever since we started vacationing in Surfside Beach in 1990. I was in High school at that time and still love it just as much now. The owners are wonderful and the waitresses are so personable. A memorable moment of mine is when I was pregnant with my 1st baby one of the girls (who has been there forever) talked to my belly and the next year remembered that she talked to my belly and remembered my daughters name! She seemed so excited to meet her. We look forward to going to Nibbles all year long. They are patient with the kids and adults too!( we usually have a big party) So, Thank You to all, we look forward to seeing you over the week of the 4th of July again.
