Have visited this restaurant several times and have thoroughly enjoyed my food each time. The first time I ordered one of their bowl varieties. The amount of food was tremendous, enough for me to take home for another meal. The next time, I ordered a Jr. Bowl and it was just as delicious. The spring rolls are also very tasty. There were several people in front of us with VERY LARGE orders but the staff was still smiling when it was my time to order. Love the food!!! ref: 26822

Ordered steak and shrimp dinner . Also a order of springs rolls. The steak was like eating burnt rubber, so tough I could not even chew it. I will not be returning. Also spring roll were tough and all you could taste was garlic HORRIBLE! ref: 26551

We have been dining at Mon Cafe for several years, going back to when it was Kyoto Express. Everything is very good. The steak is some of the tastiest and tenderest I have ever eaten. The rice is very good as are the vegetables that come with every meal. Gotta have the white sauce! The Shrimp Tempura dinner is one of my favorites. My wife loves their scallops. We will continue to dine there and recommend it to everyone. ref: 25709

I have been going to mons for years! I usally go with my friends, but itis my fav. place to go eat! they just came out with a gyu don bowl and it is amazing! the staff knows me by name they are very friendly, they get very busy so i know friday and saturday nights i call ahead and palce my order and its all ready for me when i get there :D ref: 24156

I love MON. We always call in advance for our order and its always ready when we get there. My favorite bowl is the Mon chicken Special. Lots of white sauce or mon sauce is the best!! I have never had anything wrong with my food and have never seen bugs!! Thats just crazyness!! If you have not tried it you need to. In fact Ill be going tomorrow. They always give you tons of food and I always get 2 meals out of the deal. Thanks MON yall are the best!!! ref: 19561

The restaurant is very beautiful. When I first walked in though, I didn't like having to dodge the banners that they have hanging from the ceiling. I got speedy service, but i didn't like that the girls behind the counter that packed up my food and made up one of the bowels weren't wearing gloves. While I was waiting for my food, the employees were acting very childish. At one point a female employee went into a door with another female and one of the females came out and called for a guy to go in there. They both came out giggling and I didn't see them wash there hands. God knows what they were doing. When I got home with my food I openedup my sushi to see that it was very poorly put together. My three year old could have done a better job. Not to mention the cockroach that was in my chicken. If I didn't live so far away I would have went back, but I stopped at this place on my way home from a long trip. I threw out my food and will NOT go back. ref: 18656

I accidentally found Mon CAFE in Surfside near work about 4 years ago (it was "Kyoto Express then") and I've been a frequent customer ever since....You'd agree if you try their teriyaki chicken!! It's DELICIOUS!! Dining here surely with your family would be the PERFECT Myrtle Beach experience, I guarantee. ref: 18639

Out of all of these types of americanized versions of japanese food, this one is the one I like the best. The sauces are good, generous portions, and the staff is very friendly. ref: 18250
