Our experience was excellent! The food was wonderful as was the atmosphere. Priced typically for an upscale Japanese Restaurant. Small waiting area and they quoted an hour wait, but it was 30m. Chef and waitstaff outstanding!

The whole dark meat crap is a northern thing. I like the fact that its actually hibachi and not a wok pan serving of crap. Im from north carolina and japanese there was never bad and always white meat. They made their shrimp/white sauce by hand instead of plain mayonnaise where they got plain mayo is beyond me. Ive been to japan twice 2 months at a time and though its ok here in japan you taste every flavor of what they add. Sadly most places come here from up north and it just tastes awful.

I have lived here all my life and have been to Miyabis many times and i have never gotten a bad meal.I just when't recently with my daughter for my birthday and bilo was our chef,he was very funny and very entertaining and he cooked our food to perfection.I love their sushi bar too,my favorites are the kamakazi roll, mexican roll, and the spicy calimari roll.We will always go back.Never had to wait long to be seated and cant complain about the prices, because there are enough leftovers for lunch the next day. Treat yourself and give the place a try.

we went in when it was almost closing, we waited maybe 10 minutes. the atmosphere is beautiful! our chef was very lively and funny. we received so much food! the shrimp sauce is amazing. we ate the leftovers for the next three days. it was a bit noisy, but it was mostly laughing and people just having a good time will definetly be going back more often!!!

My family and I went to Miyabi for my birthday. It was our first time there. W did have to wait a little while, but it was a Sunday and a three day weekend, so we expected it. The lobby area was awesome, the ceiling is so cool and the waterfall kept my 2 year old entertained while we waited. After we sat down, our waiter brought my daughter a bowl of fruit and a balloon to keep her entertained at the table. Our cook was good. The food was good, especially the filet. My husband's chicken was a little overcooked, but still rasted ok. My only complaint was that they gave you a TON of rice. We also had to wait a while for our sushi, but it was worth it and the waiter gave us 15% off to make up for it. I definitely will go back!

I'm a local and have given this restaurant chance after chance and we leave disappointed. No more chances...never again. If you had a good experience, then good for you.......but like many locals.....many of us HAVE NOT time and time again. Whether your in the restaurant business yourself or a tourist or retired.....you should not ever get bad service. Locals have voices too!!!!

If your complaining about your wait than don't go during the summer or make your reservations early. They can't control how long other people will be using the tables. I lived in SC for 22 years and went there all the time. Now I live in Va and we still go back 3 to 4 times a year. We always have excellant service excellant food and have never had to wait on a table longer than 10 to 15 minutes and that was if it was summer.Anyone who says this food is bad obviously has no taste in food. Love you Myabis will seen you in April!!

My family ate at Myabi's during the Christmas holidays. Our food was not prepared as we had requested "no sauce" to be added to our food when it was cooked. This request was made 1 time to the waitress and 2 times to the cook, and sauce was added anyway. The price we had to pay for our meals here was much more than the quality of the food received. About 2/3 of our plates were filled with rice and veggies. Not much meat or shrimp on the plate. We were very disappointed with this restaurant.

Ate at many Japanese Steakhouses all over the country and this one ranks near the bottom. Extremely nice building but takes forever to be seated. The waiter spent most of his time over in the corner texting while we thirsted to death. The cook made a big square 14x7 of our rice on side of grill and when he finally served it he sliced it like a cake. It was terrible. He then poured water on a big burnt place on the grill and proceeded to cook our chicken in it. Surprise the chicken tasted like burnt grill water. Another thing this place gives you dark meat chicken unless you pay extra for white meat. This is a place to stay away from. Yomatos at Broadway is far better and cheaper.

I moved away a year ago and I miss this restaurant very much. I ate at the sushi bar every weekend for about 15yrs. and I was never dissapointed. Take is the best head chef that I ever knew. He's the best!! I moved to CT and there is not one Japanese restaurant that can even come close. My name is Bruce Fortenberry and I hope I will be able to come and visit, because the first place I will go is to Miyabi's to eat sushi. I miss you all. Again Take your the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is one of our favorite places to visit every time we are in mb. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere always fun. Our chef jeff's comments while cooking were all sexual and at times a little personal. Not quite what was expectable around kids and my mother. Also our sushi was a 30 min wait on a monday night; horrible. We will be back next summer. And continue to eat Miyabis in Columbia the best Japanese food around.

I have eaten at Japanese Steakhouses for 20 years all over the country. This was the worst I have ever experienced. The table that we sat at had food remnants all over the grill and table. We looked at other tables and they were left in the same condition. It instantly took away our appetite. We asked the waitressif this would be cleaned and assured it would be. IT WAS NOT!. The fried rice was horrible as they do not know how to make it. Merely warming rice with a little soy sauce is not acceptible. The manager wanted to blame us for not saying anything even after we told him we asked the waitress. I have never been seated at a restaurant with dirty tables and they stayed that way. Horrible, horrible experience.

REPEAT VACATION VISITOR: VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH WAIT TIME.We had reservations for 7:30, arrived 10 min. early, and were told it would be 20 minutes. WE WERE NOT SEATED UNTIL 9:30. Manager wasn't there, assistant said it was because of a party of 50 earlier. She was not sympathetic. There are a lot of families waiting and when it gets close to 9 p.m. it's hard to go to another restaurant. Very cavalier attitude; several upset families.

Dont GO! stay away from Muaybi.. there are 2 other Sushi rest. in town on the same road.. go there. get chef Henry will burn your food, then say nasty to you when you leave. They did not bring enough soup, and when you ask to replace soup with salad, they say yes, and CHARGE YOU! They burned shrimp and chicken. The grill was BLACK!! because Chef Henry was a BAD chef.. stay away.. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE.. did I mention the entire restaurant has SAND FLEAS?? I just came back from dinner., which was salad and rice.. and I still had to pay for the meal!! I spoke with the mgr. who told me to have a nice night. well my night is nicer.. We're locals. I've lived her all my life. I know a good restaurant, and I'm not a "free loader". I work very very hard for my paycheck and am very cautious how it's spent........especially if it's to go out to eat. The restaurant better be worth it on all counts to earn my patronage.........needless to say. This place IS NOT WORTH IT!! If you live here year round, you'll hear what a lot of locals say about this place. It is NOT as good as some of these write ups claim to be. I imagine the majority of people who will never go back there do not know of this site to post the HONEST truth about this place. What will also be interesting is to see if this post actually ends up on this site. This site seems to be very selective with Myabi's.......can we all say "kick back" ???

Sometimes you have a wait, but what can you expect from a place with awesome food that's located in a tourist destination??? Can't imagine why anyone would give this place a bad review!

My finace and I LOVE coming here. We come about two nights a week. We go out all the time, never coming here because we thought it would be expensive. But its actually the same, or less, if you were to go out anywhere else. But you get more food here. The service is always great, and we never wait too long, even without a reservation. I would recomend this place to anyone. Its wonderdul!

My wife and I have eaten at Miyabi's in Murrell's Inlet for some time now and really love it. We ate there yesterday and learned for the first time, that the reason it seems so busy so early is that the employees are allowed to park IN FRONT of the restaurant. There were 15 parking spots nearest the door taken up by employees. I'm certain they would do an even better business if the employee's parked in less premium spots and left the premium parking to the customers.

Amazing! We have always wanted to go this place! The parking lot is always full no matter what time of the year (must be good) It was my dad's birthday and decided to take him there! MAKE SURE YOU MAKE RESERVATIONS!! We had them for 7 and we got there alittle early but we seated within ten mins of out reservation 7. If we had not the wait time was an hour an a half! You sit at a table made for 8 with other people but you still get the privacy. The chefs are really good at cooking anf keeping you entertained, The food is amazing and you get so much! Also they did a happiness song for his birthday. They come out with a drum, cup cake and a candel. They sing and make you get up and do the chicken dance it was great!!

overall i think that the murrells inlet miyabis is a great resturant for anyone. the food is great and i think that the best part of this restruant is the fact that you get the food being cooked in front of you. the service is great too. not only servers but bus boys and cheifs will go the extra mile by refilling your drinks, getting unessary items out of your ways, and also giving you that fun aspect that not alot of resturants can provide. the price is not high, because people do not add in the fact that its more than just a fine dinning resturant. there is more than just one intangable. honestly if i had to wait over an hour of my reservation time then that fine because i wouldnt be surprised if that place brings in more than 1000 costomers a night. Miyabis is a great place to just enjoy yourself, if you havent been there then i def recomend you to go there.

I don't make it a point to mention a bad experience online, but I came across this website, and noticed a lot of other people who had the same horrible experience I just had at Myabi's. I also read the other reviewer who called those who complained "a bunch of freeloaders" is an idiot. This site is obvious established to let viewers read other people's opinions, even if you don't like it. -Anyone with a reservation, having to wait almost 2 hours to be seated has every right to complain. (like we did) -Anyone who doesn't get their meal cooked as requested (serving well done steak when asked for rare) has every right to complain. -Anyone who made a reservation specifically stating they DO NOT want to be seated in the "pit" yet still get's seated there, has every right to complain. (thank goodness they did away with the pit) -Anyone who had to wait almost 2 hours to be seated, and doesn't get a single apology of the the extremely nasty and snippy hostess, has every right to complain. So for me, I should of known not to bother going back to this restaurant. I has continually declined in it's service and it's management.

Called for a reservation for 4 around 5 P.M. for dinner at 6 P.M. Got there right around 6 P.M. and only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Overall everything was great. The food was yummy, I got the Sashimi Deluxe. After ordering our food it did not take long for it to come out. Our chef, Kenneth, did a great job at cooking the food in front of us. The noise level was nothing to complain about. I would say that my experience was very positive. Before going to the restaurant I read all the reviews and I was wary about dinner, because there were a lot of negative reviews. But I did not experience anything worth complaining about. I'm sure it gets more busy during the summer months, especially on weekends when more people are on vacation. I will definitely dine here again!

Ok, people seriously need to stop complaining on this website. First of all if you think the sushi is overpriced then you are probably the people who hardly tip anything! Second the sushi at Miyabis is one of the cheapest compared to King Kong or Emi's! don't mention peoples names your just unclassy! Get over yourself your not better then anyone.

My wife and I have been eating at Miyabi's once a week for about 15 years. We remember when the sushi bar was smaller than what it is now, it was great. I like it when it was smaller because we got more personal attention. When they enlarged the sushi bar it was nice at first because most of the time we sat at the sushi bar. Also the employee's normally knew us and they did their best to sit us at the bar. Also since they have changed employee's so much we now treated differntly. So the experience eating there has lost the appeal it once had. One of the other things is that there is no hot water in the mens room. Is it because they are trying to save money or what? Take is the greastest sushi chef my wife and I have ever known. He is a master chef. We figured that we had spent and average of about $60.00 with tip per week, so just think how much we spent in 15 years. I hope things will change. Thanks Bruce and Dawn

Very good food. Prices are bit high, but the amount of food you get is well worth it. Our server was slow, never filled our drinks, and was, at best, unfriendly. Other than that, our chef was amazing, a very funny guy. Wicky was his name I think? The bus boys were amazing, they move so fast and were down right sexy. The hostesses were friendly as well and entertained us while we waited (you WILL wait, we did for an hour after walking in).

Overall, it was a very nice experience. However, we visited again about a week after our first time and went to the sushi bar. Our server was very rude and rather uninviting. I think her name was Micah, or something weird like that. The sushi was very, very good but I would say a bit over priced.

Waste of time, once again. This place is filled with tourists, so that's why it's so busy.......but to wait over 2 hours WITH A RESERVATION is unaccepatable! We had a party of 7, perfect number for 1 table. When we finally got seated (with no apology, no compensation whatsoever) there were a total of 5, I do not kid, 5 EMPTY tables! No explanation, and when we repeatedly asked the host why the long delay....she merely smirked and said "we're just that good"........well, not anymore!!! Go somewhere else where if you call ahead and make a RESERVATION, you should not be left to wait over 2 hours.

The food is excellent, but the restaurant is not well run. I called to make a reservation and was told the first available was two hours later than I wanted. I made that reservation, and when we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told we'd have to wait an additional hour and forty-five minutes to be seated. They were seating walk-ins along with the people who had made reservations ahead of time. Tourist area or not, that is unfair and it is bad business practice.

Ive lived in Murrells Inlet my entire life, and have gone to Miyabi at least once a year for most of it. This is our favorite place to go for birthdays and other celebrations, and actually we are going tomorrow for my sister's birthday. It is less expensive and stuck up than most restuarants and we always have a good time. Honestly, Im tired of hearing about the wait at this restuarant. You are in Murrells Inlet, a tourist location. You will wait at EVERY place you go for dinner (especially at peak times). At least when you are at Miyabi, you can have some good drinks (try the plum wine) and then a great, entertaining dinner. Plus, you will always have leftovers, and they are GREAT the next day.

I'm not sure why there are such terrbile reviews on this site! Our experience was absolutely wonderful at this restaurant. We waited about 20 min past our reservation time and they were PACKED. You have to consider that they need to pair up parties to fit at one table. (EX: Your party is 3 but the table seats 7, so you have to wait for a part of 4 to be ready as well) We sat at the bar and the service was quick and friendly. The drinks were moderately priced and a decent amount. The chef was entertaining and highly skilled and clean. The food was unbelievable and definitely under priced considering the amount of food that you get. If you plan on getting an entree, beware the amount of food - you may want to share it (though they do charge an additional $7.50 to share an entree but they increase the amount of food which is not necessary!! :) ) The entrees average about $15 - $23, but it includes two shrimps as an appetizer (not big though), a house salad (the ginger dressing is wonderful!), and a scrumptious chicken soup that has fried onion straws and fresh thin mushroom slices with chives. It's similar to Benihana as you sit with others. We had the tempura shrimp appetizer which is fried and comes with fried zucchini, the beginner sushi appetizer and the filet mignon/shrimp and teriyaki chicken entrees. If you go - MAKE SURE YOU GET PLENTY OF THE SHRIMP SAUCE!!! It's fantastic with anything that you're eating. The total was $80. I'd give this experience a 5 star rating out of 5 anyday and will be sure to make that trip there again soon!!!

We are locals and have eaten at this restaurant many times. The wait is always long, even with reservations. But when you have reservations, and an hour later still not seated, things get heated. For our 1 1/2 wait we were offered free appetizers. Finally got to be seated. Upon walking through the restaraunt to our table we noticed several empty tables, so why did we have to wait so long. Like maybe somebody forgot us. Seeing how the six of us were the only ones waiting to eat, and numerous conversations with the hostees, somebody would have done something. In todays economy, I don't think anybody wants to loose a customer. Especially someone local that supports this restaurant all year long. The problem is they don't care about your business. So after we get seated, our order is taken. The purpose of going to this type of restaurant is to have fun. Our cook came out, no entertainment at all. He just cooked, and threw what he had on our plates. We knew something was wrong with the amount of food he was cooking, because we knew it would not feed all six of us. The problem was that they ran out of food. They didn't even have any RICE. What kind of JAPANESE STEAK HOUSE RUNS OUT OF RICE? Also lets touch basis on the SAKE. Like I said have eaten there many times. Use to be one bottle of SAKE would do you fine, but after THREE (3) LARGE bottles and no BUZZ, something's wrong. The sake is so watered down that it is useless to drink. And this is not just one occassion, but three times. If you drink anything with alcohol in this restaurant, make sure it is either beer or wine, or it will be watered down.So after all the problems the manager came out and told us she would give us another large bottle of SAKE for free, which I declined. No since to drink another bottle with the same results. Then after that she came and told us she was giving us 50% off of our bill for the problems. Upon receiving bill it was no where near 50% off. The very least they should have done for 11/2 hour wait, limited food left to serve, and NO RICE; would have been to not charge us for the meal, or give a free meal in the future. And by the way I have lived in Georgetown county for 50 years, and have eaten at just about everything from Georgetown to Myrtle Beach. I am not picky nor do I look for things to complain about in a restaurant, and I always leave 20% tip when I leave. Even waitress at Myabi received 20% tip.Now I will let travelers now where to eat where you will be taken care of. Best PRIME RIB and RIBS on the beach is at TEXAS ROADHOUSE in Garden City, S.C., but eat early because they will run out very quickly. Everything at this restaurant is consistantly excellent, if it is not the General Manager and his staff will make it right. For fine dining at the beach, there is only one place to go. Thoroughbreds in North Myrtle Beach. It is a five star restaurant, and service is excellent. If you want the best service in the house, ask to be seated in the library, and ask for Lenko as your server. You want be disappointed. I am a 50 year old man, and this is my first review I have ever written about any restaurant, so that will tell you how pissed off I am at MIYABI'S. And this restaurant is the one in MURRELLS INLET, S.C. or Garden City area. I hope this will help who ever may read this review, but I will assure you it si the truth. One more thing about this Miyabi"s in Murrells Inlet. If you do go there make sure you do not wear good cloths. Under the edges of the tables there is so much grease, that it will ruin your cloths.

Me and my boyfriend have enjoyed dining here for many years. At times the wait has been unacceptable even with a reservation, I was always taught that a church thats not growing is not doing something right, so I guess this proves you are definetly doing something right. We love it despite the long wait. We will continue to come as much as possible.

My husband and I went in for sushi last night and I must say that the food was excellent but the service was HORRIBLE! I have worked in a restaurant in the past so I know how it feels to have people walk in to eat at the last minute, however, my husband and I came in 30 minutes prior to closing time and we felt as everyone was angry that we had come in. In my opinion if you want to stop serving food at a certain time then that's the time you should close therefore people will not feel uncomfortable and awkward. Finally I would like to add that we spent a lot of money in there last night and with the economy being the way it is they should be happy to even have customers at all, we were rushed from start to finish, and didn't even want to touch our food. What a waste of time and money.

Horribly disappointed ONCE AGAIN. I do not know why I bothered to go back to Myabi's because the last 2 times it was just as disappointing. My out of town guests wanted to try it, and I felt....."one more time". Well, as usual, the female manager that I recognized is just as snippy as she's always been. We had a "new" chef who messed up our order, which is very surprising because he repeated out order back to us minutes before cooking it. It's was a huge disappointment, but needless to say......this restaurant will no longer steal my money from me.

I used to work at this restaurant years ago so I may be a little biased but I always loved the food even when I worked there. I know that it takes a while to be seated and that can be frustrating but overall it's a great dining experience. I still eat there these days. Service is usually excellent and the utmost care is given to remedy any unfortunate incidents. When I stumbled upon this website I found some nice things said and that is great but I also found a lot of complaining by a bunch of low life free loaders who probably are unfamiliar with Japanese tipping tradition where the chefs are tipped out a percentage of whatever the bill was regardless whether or not there was a tip. Which means that whenever you leave a 5 dollar tip on a 100 dollar tab, the waiter/waitress has to pay out of his/her pocket to have waited on your constant complaining and sniveling!

We are locals, a d have frequented this restuarant a lot over the years. To say we are disappointed in it's decline in service would be a understatement. The food is always good, whether or not we get a very out going chef or not. The service, though, is another issue all together. The host staff is very put off and seems to "talk down" to almost everyone. (especially the one who's been there a long time). Even if you have a reservation, you WILL end up waiting up to an hour to even be seated. This is very typical, yet still unacceptable. The waitresses are not the friendliest, and I think take it for granted they will receive a large tip because the bill itself will be substantial.......a tip means To Insure Proper Service.......it is NOT a guarantee. This means a waitress needs to earn it by providing good service.......and I mean the basics.......refilling drinks.....clearing away salad plates and soup bowls......and not having to be reminded repeatedly for something as simple as a side of sushi. This restaurant has dropped down in the local peoples eyes. They need to get their act back together, and get a better wait staff and hostess.

We always loved Miyabi's and ate there several times each year but this fall we had a bad experience. I doubt we will return. It took too long to be seated. They were clearly over booked which was reflected in the quality of the food. I always order the shrimp, steak, lobster combo plate. The steak was overcooked, the shrimp was tasteless and the lobster was just ok. The chef wasn't very friendly and his performance was very lackluster. A good chef with a great attitude can really add to the enjoyment of the experience but ours was a bit unfriendly. I didn't enjoy the meal and for the price I don't think I'll return. It's too bad they are letting the place go down hill by overbooking and putting out below average food.

I was very disappointed with the restaurant. I had been several times before and wanted to take my son and daughter in law. The cook at our table knew the other 4 people seated at our table and gave all attention to them He did not talk or entertain our group. I watched other cooks at tables and they went through the whole program (slicing, cutting up with crowd, throwing food in hat, onion, smoke, etc.) I wanted my family to experience this. I hope this is not a norm because I want to go back but I hate to spend 100.00 and feel disappointed.

I went to Myabi's for my first time this summer with my family of 6.We had made reservations the night before for a party of 6 at 8:00.We did not know that most reservations were made for eight o clock. We got there about quarter till eight and we had to wait for an hour.It gave us time to look at the fish and to look at the amazing ceiling that they have and the flash fountain. It certainly is beautiful. The atmosphere was really good.Everybody seemed like they were having a good time.alot of people at the bar which they cut off from where you eat and i think that it is a good idea. They had some really good deals the night that we were in there. My stepdad got a special of steak, chicken and shrimp or only $22.I got chicken and steak for $12.The food was very tasty. The chef was very gppd and he made us all laugh. We had alot of fun and will want to return on our next vacation:)

I use to love both sides of this restaurant, great food an a friendly atmosphere. Tonight things have changed, no more will i patronize inconsiderate waitresses an restaurants. I ordered on the sushi side for three people. I recieved slow service an a $68. dollar bill. I left the waitress with $80. an put another ten in the chefs tip jar. What made me feel so humiliated was the waitress was counting the money an said to another waiter " are you serious " talking about the $12. dollar tip she was recieving. It made me stop an think why do we not tell these people hey if you would'nt charge $3 dollars for a unsweetened tea that probably paid cents for then maybe you would recieve a better tip. However that tip was over 15% so where do these people come off with their attitudes? No more for me though, and i hope the tourist wise up also an realize that thye don't have to eat out when they come to this over rated city of restaurants.I paid my bill in five dollar bills if hopefully the waitress is reading this , maybe she will realize that a tip is earned an appreciated or maybe someday she to will have to live on a fixed income !!

We have dined at your restaurant in Murrells Inlet many, many times. Last week I had visitors from out of town and took them there. The service was so below average. We were rushed through our dinner, the waiter was standing with boxes and we had not finished eating. They never cleared away the salad and soup dishes. The chef we had rushed cooking our dinner and was not very personable. Our waiter stood there and waited for us to finish so he could pack the boxes. It was not enjoyable. We were also celebrating my granddaughters birthday and I had to ask twice for them to acknowledge it. We just felt like we were being rushed out and did not enjoy the evening. The food as usual was very good even thou we had to bring most of it home.......as they were anxious to clear our table and get ready for the next group..........we will most likely go back but I will have to give it some serious thought..........

Enjoyable visit to the Murrells Inlet Miyabi Kyoto Japanese Steakhouse in June 2008. Went as a group that filled an entire hibachi table (8 + highchair). Atmosphere nice.. clean, elegant, relaxed. Food preparation was entertaining. Server checked on us frequently and kept drink glasses filled. They offer early bird special on several dishes prior to 6:00pm that saved us a bundle.. was happy to tip generously.

We've been coming to the Myrtle Beach area for over 20 years, from Ohio. Kyoto's, now Miyabi's, has ALWAYS been one of 'must do' restaurants. The food is ALWAYS good, ALWAYS very generous in portions, and mostly the chefs are fun, entertaining and awesome. Only once or twice did we get a quiet one - but the food was still awesome and they still amazed us with their skill! We are coming down again in a couple of weeks and can't wait to get to Miyabi's!!! It's all we've talked about for the last two weeks! I read some of the other reviews and I have to add that we don't do sushi. Seems poor comments are related to the one waitress at the sushi side! Other than that, our service has always been excellent, sometimes above average, depending on how busy. And this restaurant is ALWAYS jumping!!!!! As for the noise, well, it's a very authentic Japanese restaurant. If you want quiet and romance, this wouldn't necessarily be the place. If you want EXCELLENT food, entertainment and generally a great time - this is THE PLACE!!! Rick, Connie & Jamie - Ohio

We've been coming to Charleston for 5 years now (at least 4 times a year) and every single time we're there we go to Miyabi's!! We just love it. Our favorite is the Volcano Roll. It's much different than the Volcano Roll we get here in Pittsburgh, which by the way, there is only one place in Pittsburgh, that makes the Volcano Roll. We also love the atmosphere of your restaurant and everyone is always so very nice and friendly. I'm coming for a visit this coming weekend and am so looking forward to stopping by for my "usual" Volcano Roll!! I can't wait to get there!

I'm local and I love this place. We go for 4 birthday parties every year and then probably go at least 4 more times just because we like it. They give you so much food that we finally decided to start splitting a diner entre. They charge you for the extra plate but you get your own app and salad and soup. We always still have food to take home and it really helps because it is a bit pricey. I highly recommend this place and the staff is wonderful. Never had a bad meal or time here.

I travel extensively, and this is the best food I have had in a very long time. In addition, the people are amazing. This is authentic japanese food at it's best. Not cookie-cutter sushi or steakhouse experience. There is real talent here. I highly recommend it. Worth every penny.

We come to Myabis often and have never been disappointed. The chefs always put on a great show and the food is delicious! I always leave with a full belly & enough for lunch the next day. Sometimes the wait is a little long so make sure you make reservations. See if you can get Toyota the Chef, he's the best of the bunch.

After having great experiences at this restaurant several times over had a very bad one last year and despite writing directly to the company I received no reply or apology. This is a big blemish on them and they should be ashamed and rectify their customer relations department procedures in a major way.

We recently ate there and it was extremely hot inside, we looked at the thermostat on the wall right next to our table and it read 88 degrees! We had to fan ourselves with the menus to try to cool off to no avail. For $100 meal, we were not able to enjoy it at all. I've never been to a restaurant where I've sweated the way I did there. It was miserable and I cannot believe the management allows their customers to suffer like that. They should know the grills generate heat and it being summer so they need to see that they have adequate air conditioning. It's doubtful I will ever return.

This restaurant is hands down our favorite restaurant at the beach!!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is fantastic, and the food is excellent!! We go back again and again and it never disappoints us. Though it is a bit on the pricey side, it's worth every penny. If you are looking for a great dining experience this is the place!!

Excellent Excellent Excellent! I have spent much of my life at MB at our family vacation home, for the past 25 years. I ALWAYS plan to eat here every visit!! This is the utmost japanese experience!! Ask for your steak and shrimp to be "barbecued" - it is "off the hook"!! They won't do this back home!!

Miyabi's is amazing! As a young local I eat there several times every year and it never gets old. There's entertainment, great food, hilarious chefs, and it's just a great atmosphere. If you're not a big sushi eater then I recommend the steak and shrimp. Its so full of flavor that you can't stop eating even when you're full. To add to the amaziness of the restaurant the food taste just as good leftover. So make sure you get a doggie bag!

I go here at least twice a week for sushi and although the restaurant part is always packed, the sushi bar always has an open seat. I do not know where the guy below has gone that has had cheaper sushi but I believe the prices are very reasonable, I can eat 33 rolls for 25 dollars to me that is a great deal. If you go you must try the volcano roll!! Take, Yu, and Kenny are fantastic and I will not stop going until I either move or they close. and yes I am a local..

Had not been to MB in ages, this place was recommended and boy, was it worth it!
- As to quality, best hibachi steak and shrip I've ever had. Worth every penny!
- Service left a bit to be desired in the sushi area....a friend had to wait an extraordinary amount of time for his, though to their credit the place was packed.
- good atmosphere, they had a guy with a small drum (not as annoying as you would think), a neat waterfall in the lobby, and friendly staff. Chef was a hoot.
- as for value, not cheap but not too pricey, but worth it all. - average time to get a table and for the chef to start up. - a tad noisy, but not annoyingly so and mostly fit atmosphere. But you don't go to a hibachi restaurant for a quiet romantic dinner...

Overall, loved it, can't wait to go back, highly recommend!

We live in Murrell's Inlet and frequently go to Miyabi's sushi bar for family dinners. Due to repeated bad experiences with one waitress, who seems to be the sushi bar waitress every time we go, we will not be returning. I don't know her name, but she has a chin length bob and a mole above her lip.

She rarely checks on us, leaves us with unfilled drinks, and leaves dishes and trash (wet naps, chopstick wraps, used napkins, etc.) piled up on our table to the point that she has to stack stuff to make room for our new platters. Despite the fact that we are frequent customers and good tippers, she has yet to even smile once while serving us.

The final straw came during our last visit. My youngest son always orders clear soup and fried rice, since he doesn't like sushi. As usual, I explained to her that we need his rice to be served at the beginning of the meal. She left my child hungry, with nothing to eat for nearly an hour! The rest of the family was left in an uncomfortable state, not wanting to eat our food until his arrived.

Despite asking her and another waitress for the rice multiple times, it was only after I complained to the sushi chef that this situation was resolved.

She was true to form in other aspects as well, ignoring us for long periods of time and not being visible at all in the sushi bar for us to summon her attention, leaving us thirsty with empty drinks, and letting our table become a cluttered mess as she refused to bus anything.

We paid $80 for this meal!

We will no longer eat at Miyabi's, choosing to visit the Divine Fish House's sushi bar instead.

The food was good but ..... The reservation system is a joke.. With a reservation at 7pm, waiting for well over an hour is ridiculous. Whomever is managing the business side of this restaurant.. Should take a few pointers from the cooks. I will not go back. By the way the day before we made reservations we went and waited for about 2 hours( after being told on the phone to come on and "the wait is approx 45 min") when told again...it would be 45 min- hour upon arrival at 6:30 pm. We finally gave up and went elsewhere and had a nice seafood dinner. Lots of those in murrells inlet .the front desk at miyabi is a joke, disorganized, and seem to not give rip if you are there or not. Unless you have at least 2 hours to waste after you get there at your reservation time, do your self a favor and simply find another restaurant which understands how to handle a reservation system. The food is good, but not worth the hassle. I will not go back. .

I dine here alone often. Always shake the chef's hand at the end of the show so you can slide him 5 or 10 dollars extra, a lot of people are ignorant of this gesture. Derrick in the sushi bar is a sweetheart and treats me like a celebrity. Toyota is the best chef in my opinion although they will all make you laugh out loud.
