I've been to McAdoo's several times. My brother introduced me to this place when I was 16. I'm now 48. And been going there ever since and have taken friends there too. I took my boyfriend there this summer (2011) and he loves it. He isn't into the larger bar scene. He and Dale hit it off. We would lie on the beach all day and then go to McAdoo's to get cooled off with a nice cold beverage. My BF drinks beer but I like a nice mixed drink and Dale sure knows how to mix them! Going back Labor Day weekend. Can't wait to go say Hi.

I started going to McAdoo's in the 80's. Wet T-shirt contests, Pepsi giveaways. Then I worked there part time when Judy Garcia owned the place. It was Claudio, Edge, Jackie and her husband Ray and their son Allen. Ben Whaley was the weekend entertainment.I have to tell you those were great times. I wish all those that go to McAdoo's have the same experience I had, and to my friends I worked with and the patrons who still return each year, God Bless and have a beach of a time. Greg Smith and hello Claudio,

No place on earth is as cozy and can put a smile on your face even on a rainy day. I have been going to McAdoos for more years than I even want to admit. Claudio is the best. Hope to make it back to Myrtle before the summer is over.

OMG there is no place in the world like McAdoos. I started coming here when my oldest child was 2, would sit on the beach and listen to the band, send my husband in for a Coke. It has gotten me through one divorce, and I hope it will stay open through my next one. The bartenders, especially the old-timers, like Dale and Claudio, are priceless, and you too Pete. Let me send a shout out to Vic in the corner, too. McAdoos is a fixture on all our beach vacations. It is just like Cheers at the beach, "Where everybody knows your name..."

I did a Google search for this restaurant, and found it still exists! I spent every day of a Myrtle Beach vacation 21 years ago! My cousin and I took a post college trip and had the time of our lives. McAdoo's was a big part of that wonderful memory, drinking cold beer just about on the beach, having wonderful appetizers, and playing The Catalina's Summertime's Callin' Me on the jukebox. Priceless memories, and I'm so glad it's still there. Can't wait to go back someday!!

Went to Myrtle Beach 2 yrs ago on vacation in Sept and stayed on the beach. While walking a very short distance from the hotel we came across this ocean front, quaint, lively little place with a big patio and lots of outside tables, karaoke and the wonderful ocean right in front of you. The place was not crowded but it was not tourist season. Service was good, and if you are looking for a place not in the tourist trap, come here. We'll be there again in October. This is more like a bar than restaurant.
