I consider myself local, own property here and come down once or twice a month. We go to Magnolias every time for their lunch buffet. The food is great, fresh vegatables seasoned and the fried chicken is the best I have eaten anywhere. I don't like the buffets like Golden Corral and places like that, they are nasty and the food is terrible. Magnolia's is awesome. I have never had their menu items nor have we ate the breakfast buffet but their lunch buffet is the best I have ever had. Highly recommend this to anyone, but it is mostly locals and I kind of want to keep it that way.

Three years in a row, my husband and I have enjoyed New Years Lunch at Magnolia's. Best fried chicken in the area. Collards and black eye peas, delicious, although, this year they couldn't keep the pots filled, for some reason. My peas were not black eye peas, they were just some kind of pea! I think they just have so much traffic that it is hard to keep up with the demand. Overall the food was good today, but probably will not come back next year. I really hate that I feel this way.

My husband and I decided to try Magnolias right after tourist season ended. When we got there we stood at the door for 5 minutes, then as the lady finally came to seat us told me to pull up my hoodie because my shoulder and tank top strap was showing! She told me I had to keep my husbands oversized hoodie on the whole time, which I had only grabbed because it was raining and i was in a hurry. My tank top did have thin straps but covered everything, and it wasn't like i was showing my boobs in a low cut shirt! It was a tank I wear to the gym regularly. My husband glaced over the buffett and gave me the thumbs down. He said it looked dry and there was a very limited selection. Before leaving i spotted a Large, hairy tattooed man in a wifebeater and decided to ask another waitress about tank tops not being allowed in the restaurant, She was pleasant and told me that she wasn't sure what the lady saw wrong with my outfit and that it must just be because it was a "christian" restaurant. Overall I was dissatisfied and quite insulted. Remind me never to dine in "Christian" restaurants with my gym clothes on.

My husband and I ate at Magnolia's during our trip to Myrtle Beach. The food was awesome, everything was fresh because it came from their garden. The atmosphere of restuarant was cozy and we were sitted right away. When we visit MB again, this will be our first stop.

11/25/10 Thanksgiving Buffet: well, other than finding a worm in the squash casserole it was good. Although the waitress was horrified, I took the worm to the front desk and had them call the manager to see it. "Miss Hattie" the manager could care less and said it was from the garden. She brushed me away. The waitress said the veggies come from the owner's garden. As an avid gardener myself, I know worms (this was probably a garden grub) can hang on to veggies. However, if they are WASHED well before cooking . . . they shouldn't end up in the squash casserole! No fun for our family Thanksgiving dinner (I didn't tell my family until we left or they would have barfed - they didn't want to know until after!) Otherwise, the food was exactly what one would expect for a $14.99 Thanksgiving Buffet. The fried chicken was excellent, as was the pecan pie. I made a reservation several weeks in advance, however the lines were extremely long for the buffet (5:00pm) and the whole place was a big cluster****. The buffet attendants had to cut through lines of people to refill the pans of food. Will we go back? No. Should you try it? Go for it - other people seem to really like it. Our waitress was great but the biddies around the front desk were pretty clueless. Not bad, just okay - maybe they just couldn't keep up with the volume of Thanksgiving. Once again, exactly what you'd expect for the price - minus the worm "from the garden."

This has got to be worst food, I have ever eaten at any restaurant anywhere. When your order two steak dinners and only take one bite, it is bad. The steak tasted almost rotten. We informed the waitress paid the bill and left. When anyone serves a meal that bad, there is no need to discuss the issue. I would recommend that you avoid this place.

While visiting the Best Western Carolinian Beach Resort across the street, I was given breakfast coupons for this restaurant. I decided to try it for lunch on Tuesday, November 24th, before eating breakfast there on Wednesday morning and leaving town. We were seated immediately. After 20 minutes, no one had come to our table to offer us drinks. We chose to leave, but felt compelled to tell the hostess on our way out, at which point she was very concerned about us and wanted to know how this could happen. Not once was she concerned about the fact that we were leaving and had not eaten....she was concerned about which server was at fault. She did not offer us anything at all except to tell her who to yell at. The service level of the restaurant made our decision for us that this wasn't even a place we would take of advantage the next day for a free breakfast. The service here sucks. The food smelled quite good....would have been good to try it I guess. Never will find out because I certainly will not go here again. By the way, the Best Western Carolinian was exceptional. Stay there but ask them to get you breakfast someplace else!

Magnolia's is my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. I'm Southern, I eat Southern and I seek Southern. This is the type of food I have eaten all of my life. Over the years, I have travelled far and wide and have eaten in some of the nation's most famous restaurants. The wonderful food at Magnolia's is the mainstay I could eat on a daily basis. The staff makes me feel welcome and always has a smile. The quality of food is excellent. The service might not be an A+ but it's because they are always busy. It is truly a local's favorite and every time I go in I see people I know. Every one I take there loves it, goes back and takes others. If that continues, it will be around a long, long time. For the folks with negative comments....isn't it wonderful that we don't all like the same thing?? I wouldn't give you two cents for all of the Italian food in town, but I also don't go to Italian restaurants.

I ate at the lunch buffet today and the food was very good. It was just good country cooking. I could tell that a lot of the people eating there were local business people by the way they were dress. I read the negative review and the must have been wrong or just like to complain about everything. We will eat here the next time we come to Myrtle Beach .

We ate there last year and loved the evening buffet. This year we stayed in the same place and in checking to see what time breakfast was served read some of the reviews and was very surprised at some of the negative comments. It is hard to believe this is the same place. We were treated most kindly by the servers.

We really like this place and would recommend it to anyone. It is southern cooking but that's the best.

Magnolia's is delicious down home Southern cooking. If you like fresh vegetables fried or cooked in fat, it's wonderful. If that's not your thing, you probably won't like it. Don't come here while watching your waistline or your salt intake. The food is delicious, the service is usually adequate, the price is terrific- including the lunch buffet. Like most buffets, it's better at peak lunch hour, when the food is refreshed constantly.

By reading some these bad reviews, it makes me wonder if they went to the same place. I am a true local, born and raised right here in Myrtle Beach and this place is the best. Love the food and the service is great. Like the others have said, it is salty cause it is southern cookin.

After reading the horrible reviews, I have to take up for this place. It's the best southern cooking buffet on the beach. If you don't like collards, fried squash, okra and tomatoes, fried chicken, chicken bog, THE BEST clam chowder ever, peach cobbler (I could go on)...... then don't go. And yes, it's salty because it's southern cooking.......we like our salt! But if you want some good ol' country cooking, it is the best. I have never experienced poor service there, especially from the manager.

Was a terrible experience. The manager was very rude and the personel as well. Would of expected alot more being the restaurant looked nice on the inside and out. Food wasnt anything special especially for the price. And watch what time you get there. Because if you walk in at 10:20 am and leave at 11:06 am, Bobby will charge you for eating 2 meals...

We first visited Magnolia's last year while vacationing at MB...We ate there twice during our week long stay and fell in love with the food and the atmosphere...Magnolia's is one of our favorite restaurants and we could hardly wait to return...Last month we vacationed again in MB and Magnolia's was at the top of our list...Not to be disappointed, the food was excellent, we love the southern home style buffet, and the staff are so friendly...Magnolia's buffet is smaller than others, but the selection is delicious....This year we returned for the lunch buffet several times and already look forward to our next vacation. The prices are great...For us, Magnolia's is the perfect restaurant, the only problem, we wish it was closer to home, so we could eat there more often!

My father went to Magnolia's at 26th with business and to his surprise our favorite waiter works there! His name is Larry and he worked at another restaurant until they, unfortunately, closed. Larry is the best and we have missed is exceptional service! My father also said that the food was great which is exactly what everyone else has told us. Gotta hand it to 'em for using home-grown vegetables! It makes all the difference!

Recently, I attended a party that was hosted at the restaurant and was extremely ashamed in which the manager and staff acted towards our party. In the middle of a speech, the manager interrupted the celebration and rudely complained that some of the party was getting food on the ground near the buffet line. The language used was not at all respectable. I was appalled at the way the manager reacted to such a normal occurrence at a restaurant. Also, the food was decent if you enjoy having fried everything.

This a favorite restuarant of ours as it is within walking distance of the house. Have always entertained out of town guests and relatives for breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. The menu items are tastful and plentiful and should be tried. Service has always been excellant, food 'good home southern cooking' and the price is better than expected being so close to the ocean. This is a rare find.
