My husband and I were looking forward to an authentic Italian meal and this restaurant was recommended by a local. The atmosphere was nice, tables had white linen tablecloths and napkins, music was soft and the place appeared to be very clean. Our waiter lacked experience, asked if we were ready to order when getting our drink order and didn't mention any of the daily specials. Upon ordering he said he'd bring the drinks, salads and bread right out. A bit of time passed and still no drinks, we had ordered ice tea. When he came out with our salads and bread he explained that more tea had to be made and he would bring it as soon as it was ready. He finally brought the tea and I asked if we could have another loaf of bread, as ours was burnt on the bottom. He brought us another loaf of burnt bread when he served our meals (lasagne and spaghetti w/meatballs). I decided to give up on the bread, but asked if we could have a refill on the tea. He brought me another tea but told my husband that he would have to make more and would bring his when it was done. We proceeded to eat, my lasange was good with the exception of not having quite enough sauce and the noodles being less than al dante; my husband's spaghetti dinner awful. The sauce tasted like Chef Boyardee and the meatballs were full of filler, on the line of Chef Boyardee as well. Not sure if we hit a bad night, but not willing to try it again to find out. I'll keep looking - certainly Myrtle Beach has a good, authentic, family owned Italian restaurant.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with this dining experience. I made the reservation for 2 six days in advanced. When we arrived, there was no reservation in the log. From this moment on, I new that the evening was going to be questionable. The restaurant was full but not packed. The noise level was very loud and the ceiling fans were running on high making it feel like you were in a wind tunnel. We were at our table at least 10 minutes before we were just acknowledged by our server. We had looked at the menu on line, so we knew what we wanted. When server did come around, this 1st thing he said was that there would be a corkage feel for the bottle of wine we had brought with us. When he took the bottle to open it, it was at least 10 minutes before he returned. Realizing that this was going to be a long evening, we said we wanted to go ahead and order. The server informed us that salad and bread, along with vinegar and oil was included. As more time went by, he brought out the bread....nothing else. I had to ask again about the vinegar and oil. Our salads arrrived by a young woman whom we expressed our dissatifaction to how this dining experience was going. To net the evening out, we will never go back. There are other Italian Restaurants that we enjoy a lot. The food was good, so if you don't care about the entire dining experience, give it a try. But don't say you weren't warned.

My family and I went tonight and had a different waiter, an italian one, and he only had a couple other tables. Ours was not the important table, first of all we had to ask to have our drinks refilled, and then we gave specifics for our order, for example, I had chicken piccata without mushrooms, and my son had filet mignon and request the sauce on the side. Well, my meal came full of mushrooms, and my son's had the sauce all over his steak. My son and his girlfriend ended up going somewhere else to eat afterward. I love this place and eat here frequently, but know I will not sit in his section from now on. It was not an enjoyable experience.

Giovanni's is awesome! The minute you walk in the door and hear the bar singer playing and singing his tunes, you are ready for an awesome dining experience. My personal favorites are veal scallopini is fabulous, as well as the lasagna The homemade bread and dipping oil is out of this world, incredible..I just enjoy the opportunity to come in after a tough week at work and enjoy a fabulous italian meal, best at the best, and listen to 70's tunes (and more) and have fond memories of my youth..The lounge singer is very talented and after a few glasses of wine, well..I'm ready to jump up there and be a back up singer for him...ha..anyway..the food is outstanding, and is well worth what you pay.. WONDERFUL...

Well I must say that Giovanni's rest. is always a treat for my family. The service there is always fantastic. I always feel welcome, his lamb is probably one of the best I've ever had by far. Seeing how. He created all of his recipes and cooks almost all of his food, its no wonder why his resturant has so many awards. I give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5.

My wife and I have eaten at Giovanni's many times since 1998 and were always very pleased with the service, quality of food and atmosphere. not having been there for a few months we thought we would go last night for their early bird not ever having had their early bird before we assumed smaller portions, with a salad and side of pasta. We were seated ordered our usual drinks. At the table next to our another couple were eating their dinners and see recomended the VEAL PARMESAN stating that it was so tender she could cut it with a fork. So I decided to ordered the early bird Veal Parmesan and my wife ordered the Manicotti, at which time I question does a salad come with the early bird and Rob our waiter said not any longer it would be additional. Thinking I was geting a small plate of pasta along with ny Veal Parmesan I said no that would be fine. Well our meal arrived and to my surprise it was just simply a plate with a substantial piece of Veal Parmesan NO PASTA. So I questioned thw Rob and he said that would be an additional $3. I was a little disapppointed not because of the additional cost but the simple fact he never informed me when ordering. As much as I wanted the pasta I did not order it at the time my meal was served knowing it would be finished my Veal by the time my pasta would arrive. So I simply ordered a glass of wine and proceeded to eat my Veal. To my surprise and disatisfaction the veal was GROUND VEAL PATTY. No wonder you could cut it with a fork. Later Rob gave me our bill and I told him I was very disatisfied with his service because I never did receive that glass of wine I ordered and asked when they started serving GROUND VEAL and he acted surprised. Needless to say I was very disapointed for the first time last night at Giovanni's. but will probably return because of the atmosphere and the previous quality of food and NOT AGAIN ORDER OFF THE EARLY BIRD

Love the restaurant, love the food. The price on the menu is not always the price on your bill. Check your bill carefully . If you change your pasta you will pay $3.00 more and will not be told when ordering.

We used to dine at Giovanni's when it was on Kings Highway. Now that he has relocated to Carolina Forest, we are just 3 miles from the restaurant and eat there often. We have never had a bad meal at Giovanni's. The bread is terrific and I personally recommend the Linguini ala Giovanni, which is clams, mussels, scallops and shrimp over linguini. Sometimes on the weekends they have a person playing an accordion, which I find annoying because it is loud. I preferred the pianist who played at the previous location. Anyway, when we dine there, we prefer going during the week because there is no loud live music.

Horrible Customer service. Young "Hostess" at the front door was extremely rude to my wife while we had company in from out of town. Stated that since we didn't make a reservation they couldn't help us and turned her back on them!!!! I called the restaurant to find out why all of a sudden we need a reservation and they hung up on me. Food is hit or miss depends if giovanni is cooking or one of his kitchen help. Do not waste your time they haven't been a good restaurant in 15 years!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful dining experience at Giovanni's. The atmosphere is cozy, classy and comfortable and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our house salads with the warm and delicious bread. The veal rollatini was outstanding and the steak/lobster dinner was extraordinary. The portions are large and we didn't leave enough room for dessert. We visit Myrtle Beach once a month and will definitely return to this restaurant. It's a little out of the way, but worth the trip -- plus there's ample parking.

Giovanni's is the best dining experience in Myrtle Beach. Delicious entrees, great atmosphere and you may even get to experience Giovanni's singing of old Italian melodies. Every new friend in town becomes a welcomed visitor and returning customer.
