I have been eating at the ghost ship since the 80's and this is the best sea food I've ever had.But the last few years I haven't been able to find them. If they have moved I would love to find out where, so I can be sure to eat there next time I go to Myrtle Beach. If they are no longer open please open back up .

I agree with some that "You can't please EVERYONE", but coming from someone that likes to eat at a buffet, this is the place to go. I was happy to see them in Garden City last year, and do hope they are open in two weeks when I return. Some of the BEST hot wings I have ever eaten. You can not beat the price in comparison to other places where you may have to wait for over an hour to sit down...and that is at 5:30. The staff is like being with family, and I have never tasted anything there that was not good. Selection is great for all ages.

I have been going to Ghost Ship Seafood ever since I was a little girl and have always loved it! The service is excellent and the food is always good. I have never liked much seafood except for fish but they have something for everyone! Plus I love the story on the back of the menu!

I always make it a point to eat at the GHOST SHIP. Great buffet fresh all the time. Crab legs need to be a little bigger. But, still worth the money. The new location needs to be advertised more. The old location at Murrells's is now a gift shop. The new Ghost ship is located on Atlantic Ave. I believe on South Myrtle Beach. Closer to the Beach. See you Soon....................................... CARL (email redacted - Editor)

i have lived in the surfside beach, garden city area for 15 years and visit many area restaurants. last night was the first time i had revisited the ghost ship since it's move from murrells inlet. crab legs were great, steamed shrimp excellent. everything else was fried dryed and laid to the side.you could plug nail holes in your tires with clam strips or the calimari. i suggest you pay a little more and eat at a restaurant like sarah j, or down in the inlet. pass this place by.

The Ghostship has reopened in Garden City on Atlantic Ave. As with any restaurant it is hard to please everyone but I for one think that The Ghostship restaurant is the best buffet on the Grand Strand. This restaurant has been serving seafood for over 35 years....they must be doing something right! Keep up the good work!

We live at the beach during the summer months at our ocean Lake Campground home as we have for the past 20 years...... We have eaten at just about every seafood resturant that has blown through the town and Ghost Ship is by far the BEST. It is the ONLY seafood resturant we will eat at while we are down for the summer! Not too far away from Ocean Lakes and MB but far enough away from all the hussle and bussle of the beach traffic. Kudos times a million!! :)

We went early on Aug 2, 2007. Our party of 6 was seated fast and found the hushpuppies to be good though a bit greasy. We paid the extra 10 dollars for crablegs which was a mistake. They were not fresh. Local Chinese restaurants have better crab. There was immitation crab on the bar- a BIG let down!! The scallops and shrimp were tiny, rubbery, and flavorless. The calamari was not good. The food was all mediocre at best. I would not reccomend it or ever go back. There are too many places to eat at the beach to settle for this. The wait staff was good but that is the best thing I can say about our experience.

We are "locals" now and have shopped and spent tons of money on foods from MB to Georgetown. We heard the Ghost Ship was for sale but seems they are now back Friday and Saturday only. For the money, best deal available. Not fancy but good and good folks. They are back and we are glad. Only other place we would consider is Hooks on Business 17 but long ride.

My family visited the Ghost Ship on 12/28/07. After reading the other reviews I'm wondering if I went to the same place the other reviewers did. Maybe it was a very 'off' night. We arrived about 7pm and there was only one other couple there, who were leaving, so of course the noise level was excellent as was the seating time. It went downhill from there. We elected to try the buffet. Every fried item, including the seafood, was dried out from sitting under the heat lamps for who knows how long. Even the cobblers were very dry. But the lamps had been turned off because in addition to being dry, almost every item was cold.I took one bite of the cold boiled shrimp (usually my favorite) & had to spit it out. The green beans were edible, as was the ice cream, but for $16.99, my money was wasted. We were constantly searching for our server, even though we were the only customers there. We left very disappointed and worst of all, still hungry. Had we not already eaten part of the buffet - mistakenly thinking the food would improve-we would have walked out & gone somewhere else. We'll consider this an expensive lesson learned and not return. I'm sure the other reviewers had an enjoyable meal and hope the experience we had was the exception. I know that if this was normal for the food & service, they would not have stayed in business this long.

My wife and I have been taking our family to Myrtle Beach for the past five years. We stumbled upon the Ghost Ship by accident and what a blessing. We have three children ages 6, 11, and 13 and they all are able to find something they like here. The service is friendly and fast. The food is hot, plentiful, and tasty. If you have a family with wide ranging taste in food, you can’t beat this Calabash style restaurant. They have absolutely the best fried calamari that I have eaten anywhere and their crab legs are wonderful. Looking for a casual dining experience while vacationing in Myrtle Beach, check out the Ghost Ship. You will not be disappointed.

My family and I visited the Ghost Ship on 7/12/07. This was not our first time there, as we have eaten there on every trip since we discovered it. As always, the food was wonderful, the service was excellent and the price cannot be beat !! I have been visiting Myrtle Beach for over 40 years, and have eaten at just about every restaurant between Calabash and Georgetown. Nothing even comes close to the Ghost Ship. As the old commercial says " Try it, you'll like it" !! On second thought, you'll LOVE it !

Our Family went to the Ghost Ship on July 13. 2007. The quality was excellant. Not what you normally expect from Buffets....Our waiter was very prompt and friendly. We arrived for the Early bird which was $13.99 per person and if you had Crab legs it was an extra $10. Well worth the additional expense. We will go back again and highly recommend!...It is located just inside of Murrells Inlet....The food was very-very fresh and appeared to be cooked just for you!

Good for the families. Price is right. No alcohol drinks We have Three Girls 7, 10, 14 One does not like seafood at all. She likes some fried fish. There was still enough for her to eat. Our kids tried things they would not have. Atmosphere Good but just a little loud. The buffet is good. Allot of fried foods. I would go when they're busy so the food is fresh. If you like Crag legs they're Great. They charge a little more for Legs. We are going back this year.

We went to the Ghost Ship on a Sunday afternoon and got there for the "early bird" right when the restaurant opened at 4 p.m. The buffet at this time is $12.99 and is slightly higher later in the evening. We got seated immediately. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. There is an extra charge of approximately $8 for crab legs with the buffet, as it is with most restaurants in SC, but well worth the cost if you love good crab legs. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return there during future visits to South Carolina.

The Ghost Ship impressed me. In fact, I was so impressed that after my first visit on Friday night, I could not wait to go back again on Saturday night. (We were the first in line both nights!) I have never tasted or enjoyed better food any place or anytime. Since returning home after vacationing at Myrtle Beach, I have told everybody about the Ghost Ship's food. I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the Myrtle Beach area. It is the BEST! Whenever I return to Myrtle Beach, I will return to the Ghost Ship.

My family has vacationed in Myrtle Beach, SC for over 30 years and each time we visit we try a different seafood restaurant hoping to find the "perfect" one. This year WE DID IT!!! Ghost Ship Seafood is by far the best seafood we have ever eaten! We will never need to search for a better place than Ghost Ship. It had everything we could ever ask for and more...there was even a live alligator outside to entertain my child! If you haven't been to Ghost Ship Seafood what are you waiting for?
