Love to "hit" Crabby Mikes every April when we get down for a week. Has to be the best time of year to go with no lines or waiting. I hear summer is a whole different story. Food as always is very good, lots of variety, something for everyone. We Luv the crab legs and sure eat our $ worth. If you like all you can eat, then Crabby Mikes is worth the trip! ref: 5698 |

I live in the middle of the desert in Arizona. The nearest salt water is in San Diego, 340 miles away, and yet the :fresh" seafood that we get there far surpasses the crap we had here on Sunday, 12 November, at 5:30 pm. Everything tasted the same! I think that all the food had been in the steam trays for a day or more! the desk at the motel said we should have talked to him first, as he claims to have steered many, many guests away from this place, for exactly the same reasons that I complained about! with his advice, the rest of dining experiences for the next week were extremely enjoyable. We went here in April & were seated immediately. The service was excellent and we tipped a little extra for it. The food... was typical buffet food. The fried food was surprisingly good. Light & crispy, not greasy. However, the "scallops" they had out were clam bellies!! I admit that we are a little biased about seafood, coming from Maine - we KNOW seafood! - but this meal left us with the urge to come home & fire up the lobster cooker & have seafood our own way! All in all not a bad place to go for the novelty but don't go expecting gourmet food! Glad I went, as I'd been looking forward to it, but probably wouldn't go back again. ref: 5602 |

Crabby Mike's was good. It is better than some of the all you can eat restaurants. Plenty of selection and the food was good. Did not take a long time to get seated and service was excellent. If you are looking for a buffet seafood place, try it out. These places are still way overpriced but this is better than most when it comes to the quality of the food. ref: 5248 |

Unfortunately I am a local and I have had the experience of all the restaurants in the area. Crabby Mike's food is not the best by any means. The food is not fresh and not from around the local docks. I feel that if they would purchase more of their seafood from some of the local fisherman then it would be more fresh with a higher quality of flavor. Also the fact that the food is cooked earlier in the day and usually not cooked to order and previously frozen has a big effect. Other than that the service was great and the atmosphere was wonderful. ref: 5162 |

My husband and I enjoy eating at Crabby Mike's when we vacation at Myrtle Beach. It is one of the anticipated high-lights of our vacations. The hushpuppies they serve you after you are seated are crispy, fresh, and very delicious! There are so many foods to choose from on the very large buffet, you are bound to find something you truly enjoy even if you are not easy to please. They keep their food FRESH. The waiting staff is very attentive. You feel WELCOMED when you come in the door!. Upbeat (but not loud) music plays and the atmosphere is FESTIVE!!! In other words, Crabby Mikes get you IN THE MOOD for vacationing!!! ENJOY! ref: 5027 |

My family and I go to Crabby's at least once a year or when ever we're in town. We're really big eaters and it takes a lot of food to satisfy my brothers! So Crabby Mike's is the place for us. I don't think it's too expensive because if you ordered the amount of food off a menu in another restaurant, you would pay a lot more! I don't find the wait any longer compared to other restaurants. I love the she-crab soup and the chilled peel-and-eat shrimp. If your family loves to eat a lot, Crabby Mike's is for you! Momma also likes to buy the cute shirts when we go. ref: 4456 |

I was staying in Garden City so I decided to go to Crabby Mikes because it was close. I arrived right when it opened at 4:00pm. I got seated right away & went right for the crab legs & the Prime rib. The crab legs were hot and cracked well, the Prime rib was just right on the rare side. My waitress was great she kept the butter flowing & the fresh plates coming! As for the rest of the buffet I can't say because that is all I ate! About 10 lbs. of legs & about 4 prime ribs & I was done! With tax, tip & coupon it cost me $23 & change but it was well worth it to me! I will go back again! Thank's Crabby Mike. ref: 4443 |

This was our first visit to MB and we were all very hungry for seafood, so we tried Crabby Mike's on the first night there. Well, the service was very good, got seated right away, the place is clean and not too noisy for such a large area. I guess being hungry for seafood and this being the first place we tried, it was good at the time. I was disappointed that almost everything was fried, I would rather have baked or grilled, but overall it wasn't bad. The only thing that didn't taste good was the tuna. It should be grilled medium, this was cooked well done so was hard and flavor wasn't that good. Didn't get to try very many sides as we filled up on crab legs and shrimp. We were all stuffed to our gills, but after trying several other places during our visit, we will probably not go back. ref: 4276 |

We eat at crabby mike's all the time and have always had a great meal there. I don't know what buffet those people from Delaware went to, but it surely was not Crabby Mike's. They have alot of seafood that is not fried. There are five or six different kinds of baked and grilled fish. There are crab claws, raw oysters and cold boiled shrimp on the raw bar. We think it is a great value and still plan to blow our diets there at least once every two weeks!. ref: 3777 |

This place was a joke, not only with it's overpriced buffet, but with the waiting line. I was shocked when I went to the buffet to get my food. All the seafood was fried, yet mushy. as if it had been on the buffet for a while. I put 7 different things on my plate, sat down, and tried all 7. Found all where nasty. Went back, tried some other foods, found 1 item worth eating, the mahi mahi, even though overcooked. Yeah, the crab legs were good, but that was the only thing to enjoy. Its a shame, because the decor is great, the atmosphere is also very nice. too bad it couldn't have better food. Won't be back! ref: 3562 |

For years, I've refused to do the "Calabash/All-You-Can-Eat" places in Myrtle Beach. However, my wife wanted a bunch of crablegs, so she compelled me to take her and our two teenage daughters to Crabby Mike's. We went on a Monday night at 8pm in high-season, waited approx 15 minutes to be seated. The food was surprisingly very, very good. The crablegs, beef were great. I'm a big fried-chicken guy, and their fried chicken (broasted, perhaps?) was excellent! A huge selection of food. My only disappointment was the desserts - not a big selection and the cheesecake was all of 1/4-inch thick. Tasty, but what's up with the flat cheesecake? A lot of activity/commotion, what with people running back and forth from the buffets, but the floors and buffets were surprisingly clean. I saw busboys constantly running around tidying things up. Waiter service was surprisingly attentive for a buffet place, ours was constantly taking away our dirty plates, giving us new ones, keeping the softdrinks filled during a busy time. Four adult buffets, two softdrinks, a pitcher of beer, and tip cost us $126. Changed my impression of all-you-can eat places. ref: 3313 |

I went to Crabby Mike's last year and had a great time. The buffet was enormous and the staff were constantly bringing fresh pans of crab legs. I was disappointed that the seafood selection consisted of mainly fried and breaded fish. It would have been nice to have a larger selection of grilled fish. The shrimp was the best tasting item with a spicy cajun marinade that was perfect. I recommend skipping lunch and arriving 15 minutes before they open to get a great table and first crack at the buffet. Our waitress was great and the environment was nice too. I'm going to the Original Benjamins this year and will compare the 2. P.S. If you bring a small child they will be frightened if you put a crayfish on them, use this knowledge for good or evil. ref: 2996 |

Food is of the best quality especially for a large buffet and I do mean large buffet. Service is good considering the large parties and groups they deal with. If you want a lot of atmosphere it may not suit you, but again this is a large place and seats a lot of people so don't go there to get away from it all. I was impressed with the price for the great variety and quality of the food. Large parties may take a little longer to seat, but I thought they seated people in a very reasonable length of time. It is a little noisy, but it is a large and open area restaurant and the crowds are tourists which accounts for a lot of noise and talking. Go for the variety and quality and you will love it. I wish I lived 800 miles closer to it. ref: 2843 |

If you're going here for the crab legs and prime rib, then the price is well worth it. I'm sure our party of 7 ate over 10 pounds of crab legs. They were wonderful, especially when you got them fresh, hot and steamy. I also enjoyed my rare prime rib. That was all I got. I noticed that most people go for the crab leg. The selection of foods was vast. My tiny elderly mom, who rarely eats anything these days, had 3 small portion plates of food and 2 plates of desserts! ref: 2809 |

We had another fine trip to Mike's several weeks ago. Mid-May has no crowds, no waiting and the food was great. The crab legs kept coming, the prime rib was perfect and the other items I tried were the best I have had at any of the seafood buffets. And the stone crab claws on the salad bar were a real treat. We have eaten here very early and very late and found the food to be consistently good - not dried out nor scarce. For the money, we feel this is the best buffet and although this time we were staying near Restaurant Row, Mike's is well worth the drive to Surfside. ref: 2443 |

My family and I recently enjoyed an evening at Crabby Mike's. We are from Michigan and one of the best things about vacation is an all-you-can eat seafood buffet. Crabby Mike's didn't let us down. The crablegs and corn on the cob were piping hot and the dessert bar was very impressive. I think the menu said 120 items and I believe it. Our server was friendly and efficient. My mother and I were to attend the show across the street at Legends so I chose a location for dining close to the theater. I had just moved into the area and selected Crabby Mike's based on a friend's recommendation. Boy, was that a mistake. We chose the buffet without looking at it first and that was our second mistake. My mother is in her eighties and never complains about the food in any location that I select but she had some choice words for this one! We were shocked at just how "American" the buffet selection was. As best as I can remember the buffet had some seafood, but was abundant with lasagna, stir-fry "surprize" and alot of other items I didn't expect to find on a buffet in this price range. Overcooked food is never a pleasant dining experience and they featured plenty of that. The worst thing I noticed was the crappy presentation of overcooked food all over the buffet and with managers standing around chatting with each other not paying any attention to the quality of food being presented for purchase by their patrons. I went back to the buffet area several times in hopes of fresher food being supplied by the staff. Never happened. I just about had to knock some of the staff chatting with each other out of the way to get to some of the selections. Was I wearing an invisible man costume that night? I have no idea. The most pleasant thing about the whole experience was the friendly bartender who didn't complain when I didn't order a cocktail but stood over in his bar area and enjoyed an after dinner cigarette (which is the only smoking area in the place). Considering that I paid with tip approx. $50.00 for two buffet dinners with beverage and no cocktails (This amount after a local's discount) I was very disappointed in my visit. But the trick's on them because I had just moved into the area to work front desk at one of the Myrtle Beach Blvd. hotels and have kept plenty and I mean hundreds of people from making the same mistake I made this past summer. Sometimes it just pays to pay attention to the task at hand guys, and provide the very best food, service and atmosphere.(this place is very loud and disruptive). ref: 1734 |

Very disappointed. Fish was curled up from cooking to fast in too hot oil. Oysters underdone. Small shrimp. Small scallops both not very flavorful. I got a small platter which has the same items as the buffet. Decided I would like to upgrade to the buffet for $3 more. Waitress asked the manager - he said no.!! Nothing like customer service - glad he didn't start Walmart! Overall the whole experience was lousy. My aunt came from England and this was our only seafood at Myrtle Beach all year. Don't go there. Over-rated. Go to Murrell's inlet (Original Calabash) or Bennetts buffet. ref: 1483 |

Dined at Mike's 2 nights in a row. This was our first time at Myrtle Beach and could have scouted more but the goal was to enjoy fresh seafood (not frozen, fried Sam's Club "seafood" -read Herrons of Duck, OuterBanks, NC). Found delicious food that was worth the wait. Lots of fun in the wait line for the kids and adults with conversation, DJ and events. Family oriented, busy, noisy, had to buy the T-shirt. Will definately return. ref: 1013 |

This is my Hubby's favorite place to eat when we dine in Myrtle Beach on vacations. His name also happens to be Mike. I (we) would definitely recommend this restaurant with its nice atmosphere and very large, delicious food buffet. ref: 241 |
