The accoustics are lousy. The bar area is such that you get the feeling you are in Belks. For what you get the price is not average for NMB.

I nominated this place to my family after reading the reviews on this site. We set the GPS for 1101 Hwy 17 N. Then, we called ahead for seating for 6. It was a 26 mile round trip from our hotel and worth every mile! This by far was the best "restaurant" we have been to in years!

Their restaurant is the cleanest you will find. The interior is decorated from floor to mid ceiling in a very classy knotted pine. The decor is very simple and relaxing. The tables and chairs are placed perfectly in relation to the ample floor space. No one was bumping backs or elbows in the restaurant. The seating was comfortable. The staff was incredible! The food was fantastic!

We were met by the hostess who immediately sat our party upon our arrival. As we were being seated, we came into contact with a couple of wait staff who were delivering food to another table. Instead of your normal exchange of "who goes first", one of the staff members jumped into an open booth while the other went out of their way to give us room to walk past them and onto our table. Our table was already set for four adults and two children. The boys got actual coloring pages. Normally they only get a kids menu with a small portion to color. The actual coloring pages were a big winning point with my boys.

We met our waitress, Angela, who was extremely pleasant. There were several options on the menu that queued our interest. We had questions about the menu in regards to how the food was prepared. Instead of trying to answer them, she offered to get the chef, Lex.

As Lex came to see us, I immediately recognized him as the staff member who earlier jumped into a booth to allow our party clear passage to our table.

Lex went into detail about the preparation of each menu item of which we were interested. With his help, we decided on the filet, prime rib, salmon, and lobster pie. The boys both ordered fish plates.

The food was fantastic! The BBQ chicken nachos were very tasty. The house salad had fresh ingredients topped with a buttery and sweet croissant. The filet was fork tender with an excellent taste. The prime rib was perfectly seasoned. The salmon melted in our mouths. The lobster pie was an original compilation of crab meat, lobster meat, vegetables, and cheese. The baked potatoes were cooked completely. The corn casserole was amazing! The finale was the chocolate chip cookie pocket that held hot fudge in the middle and topped with delicious ice cream.

Having two boys, one being two years old and slightly clumsy, we had an issue regarding a spilled drink. Trisha, a waitress from another table, heard the sound of glass and ice crashing to the floor. Trisha immediately jumped to our aid and controlled the spill without bring any attention to the event.

In summary, Calico Jacks is my newest favorite restaurant! It is very clean, the staff is the most hospitable you will find in the Myrtle Beach area, the food was expertly prepared, and the value is unbeatable! I hope to visit Calico Jacks next year when we return to Myrtle Beach.

Wasn't really impressed. Had the shrimp alfredo. Had no taste at all. Doctored it up back where we stayed. So for the price of going out to a nice place--theres other places to go.

My husband, my daughter, and I have been vacationing in NMB with another family for about 6 years. We eat out every night, always looking for the restaurant version of "the sure thing"--a place where we can be seated fairly quickly, that has a relaxed, fun atmosphere, great food and attentive service. Since we sorely missed (the gone-but-not-forgotten) Santa Fe Station, we took a chance on Calico Jack's this summer. Our party of six was seated right away in a large booth. Our waitress (Tanya) approached the table immediately to take drink orders and let us know about the specials. Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I was delighted that cocktail napkins were placed on the table when she took our drink orders. I cannot stand dealing with the puddle of water formed by a "sweating" cold drink. These days, even in a bar, you rarely get a cocktail napkin without asking for one. I had the prime rib sandwich--really a French dip--and it was wonderful, very tender. My husband had a fish sandwich--salmon, maybe(?), which he loved. My daughter had the peel-and-eat shrimp appetizer as a meal (she's 10!), and she devoured every one of the 10+ large shrimp. Tanya was very attentive without hovering. She took excellent care of us, including rounding up some mouth-watering (Santa Fe recipe) hushpuppies for us. They are not on the menu, but if you ask nicely...! The food runners who delivered our dinners actually knew where to place each plate, without asking, "Who gets the prime rib?" It is clear that each member of the staff has been well-trained, and they work as a team to provide great service. We will certainly be making a return visit next summer--and there is a very good chance we'll eat there twice during our week at the beach. I highly recommend a visit to Calico Jack's this summer. By next summer, the secret will be out, and it might not be so easy to get a table quickly!

A wonderful experience, and delicious food. The house salads were awesome, and came with the most delicious, melt-in-your mouth homeade, light and fluffy croissant! The BBQ chicken was also YUMMY! My little boy thought the kids meal - cheeseburger was also very good. The baked potatoes were the BEST! TOTAL 5 STAR RATING!

We went to Calico Jacks for our last nights dinner in Myrtle, the food was great and plenty of it, and the entire staff was very thoughtful. We would positively go back, and since we do Myrtle every year, most likely will.

We could not get into Carrabbas which is next door. I am glad that we decided to eat at Jacks. The food was excellent as we had seafood. My wife had Salmon which melted in her mouth and I had Shrimp which was tastey. We will difinitely eat here the next time we are in Myrtle Beach.

By far the best meal I had while in Myrtle Beach. 8 of us went there for dinner on our last night at the beach. We all agreed that if we had gone there earlier in the week, that we would have eaten there more than once. The chef came out to the table to ask how our steaks were. We all ordered prime rib and was cooked perfectly. The house salad is out of this world. As for dessert, do not leave there without trying the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream.. The cookie just came out of the oven. I cant wait to go back again,.Our waitress was excellent as well. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Very nice server but manager was very weak. They are unable to cook a steak and would rather argue then fix it. I should have known when there was no wait that I would be disappointed!!!!
