Went there for our 40th aniversary salad was so-so bread so-so baked twice patatoe was excellent, asked for prime rib supposed to be the best on the strand, I don't think so asked for med rare got well done a little tough. Waiter said special was prime rib and shrimp scampi I got about 6 pieces of shrimp in a little bowl of butter, you can get more shrimp and better at Filet's or Capt. Poo's during happy hour for $5.00. Won't go there again.

This was our first visit to Cagney's. Food was good but not above average. Wife has prime rib, it had a good taste but was a little tough. I had the lobster, it was a little overcooked, again little tough. Potato that came with the dish was a little dry. Would go back to see if this was just a bad day.

I started eating at Cagney's when Resturant Row wasnt very much of a row. All i wanted back then was a decent hamburger. I found it at Cagney's. Cagney's has remained consistent in the quality of food and service it provides. My favorite is the flounder cagney. My wifes is the steak cagney.I have never eaten there when the manager or one of the owners have not come by my table to see how everything was.

This is the second year that we've eaten at Cagney's. We returned because the food was great in 2008 and just as great this year. The lobster tail was tender and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was attentive, and our overall dining experience was positive. We will definitely plan on returning in 2010!

Both myself and my wife decided to try Cagneys and my wife ordered a lobster and it was very rubbery. We were not going to make a scene so we emailed them and explained there was a problem and the owner said,so what do you want from me? Anyone who gives them a 5 star is probably freinds or employees trying to boost their ratings.I will NEVER go back!!!!!

The service by our waitress Annie was prompt and friendly but that would soon be spoiled by management. We are locals but haven't frequented Cagney's because they are inconsistent. My 76 year old handicapped friend ordered prime rib for which they advertise to specialize. We asked for another slice since neither he nor I could slice it with the knife. When we tried, it just wiggled. I asked them to leave off the au jus because it filled the plate. The second slice for my friend was just as dark and tough with the au jus on the side. We told the server that we didn’t believe it was fresh and she quickly stated she would get a manager. When he came to the table we stated that we didn’t think the prime rib was fresh. I have eaten in nice restaurants in NY, San Francisco, Miami and London and I have never been treated like I did by the manager. I told him we didn’t want another slice or we didn’t want it adjusted off the check, but we did expect him to admit that prime rib that he thought had been re-cooked didn’t look pink though out. I stated that I would be on the internet to let you know about our experience. He stated that we were mean people and should not go out to dinner if we couldn’t behave better. I'm 54 years old and I have never been told that I have mis-behaved in a restaurant so I did something I’ve never done; I picked up the prime rib with my hand and said are you saying that this is fresh prime rib. He then threatened to have us removed from the restaurant. Did I handle myself well? No, but I have never been placed in a position where a manager has come to my table to argue about the food. I had the Flounder Cagney which was good, but I don’t recommend the prime rib and it goes without saying that I will never return the Cagney’s.

I waited quite some time before venturing to Cagney's. I had heard that it was a bit pricey. Outrageous would be more like it. The service left a great deal to be desired and the wait for food was unforgivable. I enjoy good food and do not mind paying for atmosphere, service or food. It was dark, uninviting and the food at McDonald's is better. The filet was overcooked and cold. I will not be going back.

This is the best prime rib you will get, anywhere! The reviews on here that say it is bad; those are the people that can't have anything right, anywhere. Do not believe that, everything was outstanding. My girlfriend and myself split the 24 ounce prime rib, ($24)we got around half-way done, took the rest back and made another meal. The owner and manager made their way around and one of the two greeted the customers, were very personable and polite. Like I said earlier the 'bad' reviewers are those kind of people. If that statement offends you, guess what, your 'that kind' of a person.

Had been going to Cagney's since they opened back in the 70's. It was always a definite every trip to the beach. When we went this year, we were very disappointed that they had changed their menu. I had only ordered 1 thing every time I had been there - the seafood coquille, which was absolutely fantastic. I was so disappointed they no longer served it. My son and husband were not as impressed with the menu or their food as they used to be either. Cagney's used to be a fun place to go, even though it was a little pricey. They even used to have "directions" on the table for how to properly eat their french onion soup! It was our "special" night out. I hate to say that we will probably never go back because it has changed.

This place has gone down hill, have been eating here every year on vacation since 2004. Besides the prime rib , the portions are very small for the money, quality is good though. There ar alot better places out there to eat for your money. Atmosphere is great for all. Have never waited to be seated. Will eat here again, but it just isnt what it was before..

We ate at Cagney's for the first time September 2006 and are returning to MB next month. Although I think its pricey, the food was really good. The waiter was off that night, so we didn't tip him as high as we normally would-that is what the tip is about-showing your level of gratuity toward the service you received. We were planning on returning to Cagney's, but now I am concerned that the place had changed for the worse. :- (

We received a nice seat (not one of those seats next to the bathroom) and our waitress took our orders quickly and our wait for the food was not long at all. The ambiance of the restaurant is very beautiful and the prices were very good for what you get. My family and I will definetly be back.

Four of us went to eat at Cagney's towards the end of last summer. The atmosphere was not quite what we expected. The place is nice but we had always been told that it was a really nice, higher end place to eat. The four were suprised at how many kids were there. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, we just expected different. The service was average and the food tasted ok at first. To make a long story short, 3 out of the 4 of us (all 3 of us ate the she crab soup), got food poisoning. After the hospital visit and $1200 later, I called the manager and asked for the owner to call me back in regards to a food poisoning incedent. I told the mgr. the situation and that I am a local business owner and I would personally like to speak with the owner to let him know how disappointed I was for starters and secondly to make him aware that he may have some bad she crab soup on hand being served to patrons that he may want to dispose of. The owner had the manager call me back and say that his soup was not bad and that he wouldn't be calling me back. What a way to run a business. We ended up telling everyone we know about the incedent in hopes that people will think twice before giving the owners of Cagney's their money due to what happened to us and the inconsideration of the owner himself.

This is our first time to try this restaurant. We picked it out in part because of descriptions here. We called ahead for seating and were given a time. As it is a little early in the season it really wasn't necessary. We were seated immediately. Service was good. Both my wife and I ordered prime rib. Both were cooked exactly as ordered. The salad was good as were the rolls. They serve a sort of twice baked potato (I forget the exact name they called it). It was very good. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Salad was limp, like it was pre-made and stored for a day in the fridge. My wife would not eat hers. Steak was okay, bread was almost stale. Meal was way over priced by normal standards but Myrtle Beach restaurants are overpriced for the most part. Needed ear protection because of the very loud patrons. Could not hear my wife (I'm not hard of hearing) unless she yelled, like all the other patrons. Service was so-so. Overall, was a bad dining experience. Meal was not worth the money and was not fun. Local advertising promises much more than the restaurant delivers. We will never visit again. Beware of obivous fake "excellent" reviews for this restaurant.

Cagney's is an outstanding restaurant. I remember the first time I contemplated going there, I had just watched a review of it on BeachTV. The attention to detail here is exceptional, and the food is superb. The owners here have done a great job of maintaining consistency, which is very important. The prime rib and lobster is what I usually have, and it has always been fabulous. Lovely atmosphere.

We went here for our anniversary because of the ratings and ads for prime rib. I ordered a Cagney signature fish dish. It was so loaded with cheese that I couldn't taste the fish. My husband got their prime rib and it was tough and full of fat. Not at all what we expected. We won't make any attempts to go back.

My husband and I ate there last night based on the prior reviews. We were disappointed! I ordered prime rib and found it very bland. I used to work in a restaurant that served excellent prime rib and believe me this was not even in the ballpark. They served it with the au jus poured over the prime rib so I was afraid the entire time that I would get it on me while cutting the meat.

My husband got a New York Strip that was overcooked and not a very good cut. The potato was ok but again not great.

To top off the night our service was lousy. The waiter didn't keep our beverages filled nor was he very attentive. They leave serving trays set up around the restaurant which makes you feel like you are in a diner.

Best in MB!!! This is the first and last restaurant we go to when we are down. My husband swears by this place and has recommended it to many others who he knows will be visiting Myrtle Beach.

The "Steak Oscar" is SUPURB and their mixed drinks are excellent. Aside from the beach bar at our resort, this is the best place to get Long Island Iced Teas. My son-in-law stole everybody's twice-baked potatoes. Quite a tussle at the table. A really fun place.

Very touristy. The caesar salad was warm and limp; the steak Oscar was cooked to our preference but was somewhat bland; the rib eye was an uneven cut and, therefore, was not cooked properly; the prime rib was also average. The lack of choice for sides added to the poor rating. I would not race back to Cagney's. Not bad, but certainly not worth $140 for three people. Kelly was our server and she more than made up for the food.

We recently visited Cagney's on our vacation to Myrtle Beach. We decided on this restaurant because of the wonderful reviews it received on this web page. We were not disappointed. We have been in many places up and down the east coast and this truely ranks among the best. It not only has a extensive entree selection, it also has a wonderful children's menu. Excellent quality and service. Thanks for a great experience.

My family's all time favorite! We make it a point to go here everytime we vacation near Myrtle Beach. My husband raves over the prime rib. Everthing is good from the steak to the seafood dishes.

Have eaten at this restaurant for over 20 years. Even before we moved here, this was my favorite vacation restaurant. I always have their lobster. My husband orders their filet mignon. Service is geat, food delicious, atmosphere is unique. I love that the owner, Dino, visits while you dine...it's like family.
