This is a large restaurant with a large buffet. It's not quiet, but one should not expect that in this sort of place. We had children with us and we waited in the children's play area, a very nice touch. Our waitress was fantastic. She was prompt and constantly bringing our messy table napkins, refills, etc. One of the kids spilled his water and she was there in seconds cleaning it up. I thought the food was OK for a buffet. Don't expect quiet/delicious/romantic at this sort of place, and you'll be fine. There was plenty of steamed seafood, and that was good. There is a lot of fried food - too much - but the little I had was good. The dessert bar was good and the kids loved the soft serve ice cream.

When we arrived, there were very few customers. We specifically aked the manager if the food on the buffet was still fresh. We were told that it was. The food tasted like it had been out all day and some food was not even hot. When we talked to the manager, he did not offer an apology or even a discount or a coupon to come back. After returning home we sent a concern to the home office and still no response. It seems like the manager and home office was only interested in the $120+ dollars they received from us that night. What they failed to think about was our future visits. If they had only showed some concern, future visits would have been likely since we visit often.

I have NEWS for you......You are not the Original Bennett's Calabash Seafood!!!! That was Mr.R.B.Bennett in Calabash N.C. It was called Bennett's Seafood and i know this because i worked for Mr.R.B. in 1985.....He was a wonderful older man who had worked very hard to build his business in Calabash and did a wonderful job of it!!!!!!The food at Bennett's in Calabash was very tasty and cooked to perfection.....Have no clue why the children of the Calabash Resturant owners wanted to go to Myrtle Beach and claim that they are the original Calabash because up until that time Calabash was known all over the world!!!! Now you say Calabash and most think it's resturant row M.B.S.C. AND PEOPLE IT'S NOT!!!!! Calabash is it's own lil place across the NC/SC line and i promise you will be very pleased to make that extra lil ride to the lil town that sits on the river right off the intercoastal waterway about 1 mile from the Little River Inlet that goes right straight out in the ocean!!!!

This was one of the worst buffets we ate at while in Myrtle Beach. The price was ridiculously expensive for the quality of the food. The crab was ok, but the prime rib was awful! Not a lot of choice, and dessert bar was terrible! There are soo many better buffets in Myrtle Beach to choose from!!!

Pricey for Food provided. $29.70 for buffet and ice tea and this is with coupon. Salad bar and dessert bar very sparse. Food selection minimal for a buffet. Most food was dry from sitting for a long time under lights. Watched many folks left after being seated. On the bright side the Crab Legs were good. On flip side, wife got sick afterwards. I would definitely not recomend this restaraunt and will not return.

We were seated very quickly,The waitress was friendly and prompt. We don't eat crab legs and felt the other items on the serving line did not justify the cost.. The boiled shrimp and chocolate chip cookies were the only bright spots of the meal. The quality of the hot food was terrible. The seafood was overcooked and/or greasy. The fruit was not fresh and the other desserts were below average and not well prepared. Overall, this was a waste of our time and money ($70 for 2 people). Will not be returning.

We were there on Feb 27th and everything we got was either cold or lukewarm. Salmon is our favorite & this was tough, chewy and cold. Very disappointed as we have eaten there often throught the years and always enjoyed it - except for the dessert bar which is inadequate. This has been our favorite seafood bar for years but don't know if will ever go back again.

The food was not tasty at all. Food did not tasted like it had any season on it. Even the crab legs were very, very fresh. And you know it won't do any good to sprinkle salt on crab legs. Awful experience.

We ate here july of 2010 and loved it. We will deff be back this summer and to the couple who ate here for their anniversary but had to sit by a family with children I understand you left yours at home for this special occassion but I have children and in my oppinion if you didnt want to eat were there is children you should have had a romantic meal on the beach or in your own home and sent the kids off. This offends me knowing that this place is always packed you knew it wasnt going to be a quit evening when you arrived!!

We ate at Bennetts on 11-14-10. Very disappointed. While the crablegs were still the biggest on the strand and good, the service was poor. Read earlier post about service and totally agree. First you are seated and told to help yourselves to salad bar, it takes atleast 5 minutes longer for hem to bring you a plate for buffet. The another 5-10 minutes for crackersand butter! It's like they try to discourage you any way they can from eating the more expensive items. The fried seafood was vey good and the fried chicken was good, but prime rib and steak was terrible. No doubt it had been setting on the bar all day! To top it all off had the section by the waterway closed off! Then set us by a family with 4 little kids. We were here for our anniv. and left our kids at home, we didn't want someone elses! Ate here in June and thouroughly enjoyed it, but won't come again. If you want good seafood do yourself a favor and get it at a sit down restaurant, always better quality. We have now learned the lesson, we are done with buffets!

Checked this Buffet out online and wow were we fooled! This place was TERRIBLE. All meat items were overcooked, all fried food tasted the same, didn't matter if it was fish, shrimp or chicken. The price was $26.50 per person. I have never been so disappointed in a buffet in all 50 years of my life. I am from Oklahoma, and most seafood is good to me. My wife is from Maryland, I thought she was going to throw up before she finished her first bite. The dessert was not even edible, one bite of a chocolate cake and I had to toss it. My 15 year old wouldn't even eat his strawberry cake. The ice cream machine was broken too. Absolutely nasty experience!

We ordered the buffet. We had a male server that was a real jerk. Dustin was this young man's name. The buffet price was 27$ a piece which was kinda pricey but it was ok. The server just ruined our meal. He just kept playing around the whole time we were there. It was just uncalled for. My husband and I couldn't finish our meal because of it. It was just rude.

We had a great server. She was a local american. She had a strong southern ascent. Yet the others that worked in the restuarant weren't friendly at all. They were Russians or something. They didn't do anything but stand around and speak their own language. They were very rude even to our server. The young lady told us she was very sorry. When we went in to be seated, the girl seating us was dressed very, very provacative. It wasn't descent for my children to look at. We over heard the Russians talking about the americans there. They said they hated americans and they were all fat, and stupid. So WE will never go back here. We had been going here every summer. We won't anymore. They don't even appreicate getting a job here in America. They shouldn't be able to work here if they don't like us. I'm afraid they spit in my food. I told the manager about it, he didn't even care. He wasn't even American. Well he said he was born here, but he didn't even speak good English. It was terrible

Went here once just after Labor Day weekend, and while we found it to be a good buffet with an excellent and huge selection of food, the prices were outrageous. Our bill came to well over $70 for two people, and we could have eaten the same quality and amount of food elsewhere for much less. We won't be back. It's a good restaurant, but it was more of a "tourist" experience for us, over priced and a bit underwhelming.

Great food for the price! Not the best seafood I've ever had, but crablegs are on the buffet. You can't go many places and get all the crab legs you want for around $20. Great service also! We were seated within seconds of walking in and our waitor was wonderful. We didn't have to ask for anything. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Best Calabash in the Grand Strand hands down! Huge selection and always fresh food with little wait time to be seated, even peak season. I moved away from the area several years ago, and its always one spot I have to eat every time im back in town!
