My wife and I made a special trip from Myrtle Beach last Friday night, Sept. 14, 2007. We both had flounder; her's was broiled and mine was fried. Her's had a little taste, mine was utterly and disapointingly tasteless. Also, the salad was meger and of poor quality, and the tea was weak. Our waitress failed to inform us of their daily specials. The price was high for such a poor meal. Only my baked potato was up to par. We could have done better at Capt 's and it would have been a lot less expensive.

I've been going to russell's since they opened , the best place over all the places i've gone to around here. The owners and staff do the best they can to make your dining experience wonderful. Unfortunatly people have very different tastes. Some people you can not please, I personally think they should stay home, but russell will do whatever he can within reason to make it right. So if you don't like russells, you need to be scolded by your grandparents!.

We went here on a friends recommendation. I paid 22.00 for a special that was described as scallops, shrimp, sliced mushrooms in a wine and butter cream sauce. It was terrible. It was a few shrimp, overcooked, very large tasteless scallops sitting in a water bath with no flavor!! It was awful. My friend paid 19.00 for the broiled scallops, again very large and tasteless, as well as tough and chewey. No flavor at all. Will not go back there. Oh, and the hush puppies might actually have been the best part except they were soaked in grease. YUK.

After living in Myrtle Beach for 12 years we finally got around to dining at Russells. Now I feel bad that we wasted all of those years! Russell is a great guy who personally greets you and keeps checking back to see if everything is o.k. The food is excellent, (she crab soup to die for), service was very prompt and friendly. There is a beautiful view of the inlet and the ocean. Prices were surprisingly below what other restaurants charge and portions were larger. We will go back again and again. I highly recommend Russells, it is a great place for locals and tourists that want great food at fair prices.

Russell's is THE BEST place to go for seafood if you're visiting this area!! The 'all u can eat' places are tourist traps with bland, often old food. Russell's has wonderful atmosphere - even the wait is pleasant with the upbeat band - and the food is truly superb!! As far as the smoking / lack of non-smoking, its a choice... if you do not want to be disturbed by it, dont go to Russell's. I do not smoke or enjoy being surrounded by it, but there was no problem as the air circulated well and doors were open, which left it a little warm, but fine. If you are looking for WONDERFUL food, a unique and friendly setting, and overall great experience, I fully reccomend Russell's!!!!

A friend and myself stopped for dinner one evening this spring. We flipped a coin while driving thru the MI to decide where to stop. We were quite happy with our luck. The wait staff and owner were great , the salad was very fresh & the mahi was out of this world, unfortunately I could not recommend the flounder as it was mushy & tasted alot like mud. As our waitress was very observant she asked if we didn't like our flounder, told her the problem and it was immediaaately deducted from our bill and offerings to prepare something else right away came from her & the owner. We declined butonly because the mahi was so awesome and such a large portion along with the wonderful chees potatoe balls that we were stuffed. The owner and wait staff made what was a horrible flounder meal disappear, and our dining experience was great. After a little coxing from the owner as to how great the flounder should be I would give even it another try, as long as mahi wasn't the catch of the day.

While vacationing at Surfside Beach Russell's was suggested to us by a local repairman while working in our home. We were surprised to find a wait at 5PM. We decided to eat on the deck. It was a lovely warm evening with a nice air blowing. The service was exceptional. The food was hard to beat. Unfortunately, just as we started eating, a thunderstorm passed and we dashed inside. Everyone was so helpful in assisting us to a table while we finished our meal. We will be referring everyone we know to this great place to eat & enjoy.

Excellent, fresh seafood! Laid-back atmosphere. Yes, you may have to wait, but the deck and music and a drink make it really enjoyable. Personable service, and Russell or his dad are always there to say hello. The BEST she-crab soup EVER! I'm a formal local, and I send everyone who's headed to Myrtle Beach to Russell's.

We have been going to Myrtle Beach on vacation for 20 years and always dine at Russell's. We always have the fresh grouper with cheese potatos and cole slaw and it's wonderful every time. Russell makes the rounds and greets everyone, and this is always an enjoyable evening.

My wife and myself eat at Russell's quite often, some time we have fish, sometime we have steak. It is always very good. We have to thank our friend in Surfside Beach for telling us about Russell's. We usually bring food home because of the generous portions that you get. Go To Russell's you won't be sorry,Russell and Karen will make you feel at home.

Nice people, with good attitudes, especially the owner, who personally checked on every table. Food was OK, but not what we hoped for. Pricing and quality was better than Inlet Crab Shack. We sat outside to avoid the smoke, but unfortunately there was a female singer that night who kept increasing her volume in spite of our requests to keep it moderated. Finally, unable to converse, we gave up and left. Shame.

We were told about Russell's about eight years ago by two locals, they highly recommended this restaurant. We have eaten there many times and have always been very impressed with the food. You will notice all of the SC license plates on the cars in their parking lot. Try Russell's you are sure to keep coming back as we do. ENJOY...

Advised by a "local" to try...glad I did..great food...steak & grouper are a must, flounder stuffed with crabmeat are a must!

Great service from all the staff, Russell & Karen, the owners, are very friendly..they try hard to meet & greet, thank & say goodnight to all....not to mention the best (&free) juke box around!

Stumbled onto Russell's the first time we were in Murrells Inlet and have been back several times.

The food has never disappointed us and the service is excellent. By far, the best she-crab soup I have had anywhere. Russell's is a reason to GO to Myrtle Beach!

We have eaten at Russell's many times. The food and service is GREAT! The ONLY downfall is everyone else knows how great it is so the wait is sometime longer than you would like.
