If you are looking for the best seafood restaurant in Myrtle Beach - look no further than Phillips! Their main menu seems limited at first but they have a nightly specials menu that is worth going for. I had the Bacon Wrapped Scallops and they were amazing! I am told that the chef adds a new special almost every night.

Seafood platter special was not described as being all fried. Not worth $23. Fried fish, crab cake, and 3 fried shrimp with fries. Waiter was nice and personable. Menu very limited for the seafood lover and not much available for those who like a limited amount of fish. Overpriced and not worth the time.

I have never in my life complained about my food in a restaurant but this place was down right awful. I ordered salmon and shimp my salmon was burnt on the bottom and my TWO shimp were overcooked. What really got me was my 2-year old could not even eat his hamburger sliders the bread was so hard it felt like a rock it was heartbreaking to watch myyour son try to eat and he couldn't. I could go on and on about this BC other people in my party didn't eat their food if they did they has problems the next morning. This restaurant was rated #2 on best restaurants in Myrtle Beach it should be rated #1 on worst list. Will never eat at this chain again. Absolutely disgusting.

An awful experience! Horrible food! Terrible atmosphere! No customers! A rude manager! After I visited I read the other reviews on this page and wished I read this page before I visited. Don't do it!

The worst salad bar imaginable. The soup was terrible. The broiled seafood platter was greatly over priced and not very good. The service was good. The atmosphere was good and the facility was beautiful. Not many patrons in the place and after we received the food we understood why.

I came to Myrtle Beach for the first time with my fiance and two of our friends June of 2012. We had a party of 6 people, 5 of which ordered the 1.5 lb crab leg meal with brocholi, a baked potato, and corn. For starters, the plates were steaming hot and the crab meat was COLD. Not warm, not room temp, but cold as though it had just been pulled out of the fridge. Second, the "baked potatoes" were completely overbaked, by about 20 minutes and 150 degrees. The brocholi (if you want to call it that) was BROWN! Absolutely disgusting!!! And as far corn goes, Green Giant does a better job with their canned corn. The manager was nothing to brag about either. After he admitted that he was aware that his crab steamer was not reaching the 260 degree temperature needed to steam crab legs, he offered to "resteam" them for us. If you want an overpriced meal that isn't worth a cent in your pocket...... go out to eat at Phillips Seafood in Myrtle Beach.

My wife and I went to Phillips Restaurant this week since it is under new management. The food was excellent. I had crab cakes which I always get when I go to Phillips. My wife had flounder and said it was every bit as good as what we usually have at Phillips in Ocean City. The management was very attentive and was making sure that everything was up to Phillips standards which it wasn't the last time we were here two years ago. Big change. Big improvement. We'll definitely be back several times this summer.

we went to phillips restaurant on tuesday nite, august 24th. we arrived at 5pm. we were in the cafe part in the front to get the $1 crabs and a couple of beers and a few other items. we ordered 18 crabs at 5:00, they finally arrived 40 minutes later. they were all over cooked, mushy and just plain bad. we were unable to eat them. folks, steaming blue crabs isn't rocket science. you put them in a steamer with old bay, water on the bottom. put on the timer for about 12 min and then take them out and let them cool. however, you can't figure this out. too bad. we are from maryland and lived there for 50 years and know how to do this. would you like me to show you because you can't even do the simple things like steaming crabs.

Went to the re-opening 5/19.2011- Crab dip was running-brown-salty with burned bread bowl. Crabcakes were ok-but served cold. Also potatoes cold with mushy vegtables topped with canned parsley flakes all over the dishes. Crab Imperial pretty good-should be there dip. Atmosphere is runned down and service wait staff sloppy looking and unfamiliar with chesapeake seafood. Chef needs new receipes and they need a manager who can build the standard of the the old Phillips reputation on the east coast.

We went again this year to Phillips but the placed changed. We have eaten at other Phillips in Maryland and we liked the buffet. They have eliminated to buffet for a limited menu. We went on the Saturday before Labor Day. I think there were maybe five tables in the whole place that had patrons. It was sad to see what was once a great place to eat so empty. The food was fine but ordinary and for the same price you could go down the strip a few blocks and eat at Captain George's buffet and get all you want to eat. The place offers everthing on their menu and the place was packed. I think that says it all. Captain Georges was packed and Phillips had maybe a total of ten cars in their lot.

We have eaten here several times since it opened and it used to be good but I will never go back. We ate out in the self serve fish market. The fried shrimp was straight out of the generic frozen food section of a bad grocery store (all breading and no flavor in the tiny shrimp) and our "fresh cut" fries were very dark & limp-as if they were rewarmed in the microwave. The hush puppies were like rubber balls-very tough. What happened? No wonder the parking lot was empty at dinner time on Sunday.
