This place is good for what it is. They are a hamburger joint and they don't try to be anything else. I had the cheeseburger, my girlfrend had the bbq pork sandwich. Both delicious. The only downside to the service was that I ordered a Heineken and got the light version. I didn't complain and when asked for a refill my order was corrected. Not sure if the waitress realized her first mistake, or made a second by not bringing me what she brought the first time but it really didn't matter to me. All in all, next time I'm in town, I will return and put up a dollar bill on the wall. Enjoy yourselves!!

We had the best experience at Joes. The beer was cheap, the food was good, and I love the burgers. just enough to fill me up but not overstuff. Service was great. HB Joes is my new favorite burger chack.

The only good thing about hamburger joes is the dollar beer. I don't understand why a BLT or Bologna sandwich cost more than a hamburger. The servers act as if they are doing you a favor and don't really care if you come back or not. I have been there a couple of times and have seen servers eating behind the bar while at work. The reason that I will not return is because of the chicken wings that I ordered came out and was not cooked all the way through. I did get more but did not recieve an apology at all. I recomend Fat Jacks for wings and Five Guys for burgers.

Having been a great fan of Hamburger Joe's in North Myrtle Beach, I was so very disappointed to find that the Surfside location was nothing in comparison. Our food was tasteless. The burger's had no flavor, the onion rings were really bad ( hardly any onion taste, just greasy batter ), the hot dogs were bad quality and our server was less than friendly and had very little knowledge of the menu. Furthermore, my mother was visiting from Pennsylvania and couldn't wait to eat there because this has been one of her favorite stops for the past 25 years. She was very, very disappointed as well. We will not be back.

The previous people that said that the burgers were frozen didn't pay attention to the fact that the cooks, who prepaire the food right infront of you, pull out fresh never frozen 1/4 pound burgers and place them on the grill to cook to order, YUM! Best burgers in town and at the best prices on the Beach!!!!!!!

Joe's should serve the appearance of a burger as the ad I seen on t.v. My burger was served grilled properly on top but the bottom had a boiled look to it. The burger patty had no life to it - no sizzle no heat - I did send it back to the cook and received what I should have received in the first place. Excellent in taste and sizzle . Burger, fries and a coke $7.00, a little too much I think. A little more quality control and consistency should improve. If the cook cooked a burger for himself would he have cooked like my first burger or like the second one ?.

As the above reviewer stated, it's okay, not great. Decent value, the burger was tasty for a frozen patty, the fries were good, if small. I would go again, but I wouldn't drive out of my way for it.

My husband and I just moved to Garden City from Maryland this past summer. We stopped into Joe's for a quick bite, and ended up coming in at least three times a week after that! The food is great for the price. The beer is cheap, and most of the servers are very friendly. You won't get a better burger for the great price anywhere else.

Stopped in for a quick lunch one day. Even though we live near Joes, this was a first..(and last). Burgers were just average, fries were just OK. Tea was good but the small 12oz sodd (filled to the top with ice) is limited to 1 refill. There is about 3 oz soda & 9 oz. of ice. Guess it' back to River City & 5 guys for burgers.

I thought the hamburger/cheeseburgers were one of the best I have eaten. They were cooked to perfection and not greasy like most. The onion rings were awesome. It was just a fun place to eat and this is the second time that I have eaten there. BLB

We come to the beach at least once a year and we just tried HB Joe's for the first time this trip. If you are looking for a HUGE hamburger and so many FF or onion rings that you can't eat them all, then no...this place is probably not where you want to go. I thought the serving sizes were perfect. It fills you up but doesn't stuff you to the point that you need to let your pants out to breathe. The burger was tasty and the homemade ranch dressing is out of this world (great on fries). Very good sweet tea. I would absolutely go back.

Went for dinner on a Saturday Evening. Five Guys does burgers better. The hamburger at Hamburger Joes tastes like the ketchup is mixed in with the meat. The beer battered onion rings are nothing more than frozen food. Sorry, Hamburger Joes, not very appetizing.

We tried Hamburger Joes for the first time in summer of 2006 and were in fact a bit disappointed. The entire experience was just "okay". Nothing outstanding, just average.

The burgers were good...not great. The fries were okay. Service was good. Tea was good. But nothing that made us say "we have to come here again".

For burgers, we've found that Five Guys are just about the best we have ever tried in Myrtle Beach. I'm not saying that you shouldn't go to Hamburger Joes...but for the money/value/taste, Five Guys beats it hands down.

If your main objective is to drink beer this might be an okay restaurant, but if you want good food go elsewhere. We had burgers, fries, and onion rings. The hamburgers were little flat frozen patties, not even as good as the kind we get at the local little league baseball park at home. They were served on a little tiny paper plate. The servings of fries and onion rings were okay but not that big. It was lunch and we were seated immediately because the place was almost empty but the servers still ignored us most of the time. If you want a good hamburger in a fun atmostphere I would recommend Cheeseburger in Paradise - much, much, better restaurant.

You gotta try the fried bologna sandwich. They will put anything on it you want. Thick fried bologna with all the toppings. Brings me back to MB each year. You can have the sun and sand... I'm here for the fried bologna at Joe's!

Hamburger Joe's was the nicest surprise of my trip down last week. The food (cheeseburger) was excellent, the sweet tea outstanding and the onion rings were out of this world. I look forward to coming back on my next trip and sampling the beer selection. Top notch my friends.
