Despite arriving during the peak dinner, were served quickly & efficiently. We had the veal special offered that evening & a seafood stew combination that exceeded our expectations. Since the wine list was extensive, we had the wine steward select us a bottle resulting as an excellent choice complimenting our meal. The Italian food & flavor is outstanding and a definite recommendation for those seeking an authentic Italian meal with atomosphere & service.

I've had Italian food all over the world, NY, SanFran, Ottawa, Montreal, Caracas, Santiago, BuenosAires and I had one of the best meals I've ever had here this weekend. The stuffed banana peppers were to die for and the Tagliatelle was home made and melted like butter in your mouth, will definitely be back !

My wife and I first had dinner here several years ago and our memory of it was not favorable. We couldn't remember why we did not enjoy that experience and decided to give it another try. Whatever caused us to have negative thoughts was completely erased after a wonderful dining eperience last night. The service was excellent and the dinner was one of the best we have had in the North Myrtle Beach area in many years. I missed Tony's when they closed and I still do but we have now found a new favoirite for an excellent authentic Italian dinner. We highly recommend this restaurnat.

I'm typing this entry on March 20, 2009. We just dined at Chianti earlier this week, March 15. It was again outstanding. The attention to detail here is great, and it's a restaurant we've dined at now four or five times. We had always passed by it, but didn't really consider dining here until we saw the commerical advertisement for it on BeachTV while staying one summer. The chops are great, and the fettucini alfredo is the best I've ever had. I can't say for certian if this is the best italian restaurant on the Grand Strand. We've only dined at Rossis and Giovannis back in 2002 on our honeymoon when it was open. But if Chianti South isn't the best, it's pretty close. The only negative is that if you go here, you WILL pay. I dropped $168.00 here Sunday, not even including the tip. I had the veal chop, with a side order of fettucini, two beers, my wife had one glass of one, fettucini with shrimp, my daughter had the same and my son had fettucini. Food, service, atmosphere, attention to detail, experience, it's excellent, but this is by no means a cheap establishment. Be prepared to pay a pretty good chunk of change.

We are from Montreal and 2 yeras ago bought a condo at Brunswick We spend 8 weeks a year there and make sure to include Chianti at least and sometimes 2 x a week when we are there. Arturo is excellent as are all the waiters and watresses,. I usually have the veal margarita and it is perfect. The wine selection is out of this wrold and nothing compares to the home made blue cheese dressing. I have sent may other people there who visit us and they all love the place. Will be there again in a couple of weeks. Ian and Linda Montreal Quebec

My husband got steak which was delicious and perfect, but this is an italian restaurant and his pasta was soggy and sauce salty and bland. My crepes "something" was tasteless. We were seated immediately because the place was not crowded but our dinner took almost an hour to be served. The veal chops that my friend had were at first over-cooked and then the 2nd time, totally raw. The salad was simple green leaf, nothing else. I was very disappointed in our over all meal.

My husband and I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for several years now. We ALWAYS make a point to dine at Chianti South every trip. It is without a doubt the most consistent restaurant in terms of quality of the food served and the food is always excellent. My husband thinks the mussels are the best of any restaurant. It is a dining experience not to be missed in Little River, SC.

After waiting for our dinner for three hours we finally left. We never received an apology from the manager or the waiter. Acutally the manager tried to make us pay for the salads we finally received. We did pay for the wine we drank. Other tables that had reservations after us were finished and ready to leave and we had yet to receive our food. We will never ever go there again although we used to recommend this restaurant to friends. We can see that it has clearly gone down hill.

Excellent dinner - Veal Shank was tremendous. The wine list was endless, great selection....nice outdoor deck. The only drawback was the wait - we had a 7:30pm reservation and weren't seated until 8:30pm. It seemed as though thy were understaffed, only one bartender while the place was a madhouse.

FANTASTIC! We are from NY and were worried about getting a nice Italian meal. This place was great! Best things about this place: The Water (yes, even the water tastes great!) The bread is to die for! They give you a real glass of good wine! The blue cheese dressing will ruin you for all other blue cheese...never had better! Each dish was authentic and DELICIOUS! I know I sound like a commercial, but we will go there every time we visit. Service with a smile makes it even better.

Discovered Chianti's by accident this year. We had gone with friends to Calabash and found the restaurants were really crowded. Returning, I saw Chianti's and remembered that I had read a great review of the restaurant. This is now on our list of "favorites." Each of the four of us had something different and no one was disappointed. Our waitress was efficient and friendly. Food was outstanding. Since we are "snowbirds," we will definitely return to Chianti's.

Everytime I am in the area my wife and I make it a point to dine at Chianti's. We have been at the restaurant 2 times in the past 2 weeks. This time I will have to say that the food was excellent, but the service was less that satisfactory. We were seated promptly based on our reservation, but had to wait a long time for our server to come to our table. After placing our order he came back twice ... once because he couldn't remember what dressing my wife wanted on her salad. The second time was because he couldn't remember what my wife had ordered. We waited a long time to have our meals served,(others who arrived after us had better results) but when we did they were great. Even with this experience we will be back and would recomend Chianti's to our friends. Also, please note that the last time we were in the service was excellent. Hopefully our server tonight (Male) was having a bad night and that the next time it will be better.

I went here with my fiance to meet his parents for the first time. They are italian, and like the restaurant. When we got there, they had made reservations and were already seated, and then when we came to join the family of 6 they had us crammed into the smallest room in the place!!!!! If you know italians then you know that they love to hug and kiss. Well this was a fiasco considering that the 4 other tables crammed into this room were occupied by others, so meeting the parents was a lot of chairs and tables being knocked over. So we got a lot of dirty looks by the other people. To make matters worse, the waitress we had must have had 17 tables to handle at the same time because it took her forever to get us refills. Lastly, when we did finally get our food, the waitress kept leaning over me to hand other people their food, and sure enough, she dumped the entire plate of oysters and sauce all over my head, shirt, WHITE PANTS, and into my PURSE!!!! she quickly apologized, and then continued to SERVE the rest of our party, not bothering to get me any towels, or anything to wipe up. Needless to say, i would've thought that they might had at least comp'd my meal, but they didn't!!!!! It's a shame too because the food is decent, but the service is AWFUL!!!! (at least that lady was) My entire future family has not been back since!!!! We continue going to Luigi's even though it is further for us!!!!!

One of the most knowledgable and friendly waiters ever encountered. Food was a wonderful surprise. The appetizer - banana peppers and italian sausage was as good a start to a meal as all eight of us could ever remember. Every aspect of the meal was excellent.

Asst Pro at Oyster Bay recommended we eat at this restaurant. This will become a must for future golf trips to Myrtle Beach.

Our family has been coming to Chianti South for years and thoroughly enjoy the food. We have three children who all like different types of food and they always find something great on the menu. Our favorite is the hot seafood appetizer that we all share and the seafood combination dinner that we order fra diavolo. We have told numerous friends and relatives to come here and they have never been disappointed. We are from upstate New York and the owners originally started their business in Newburgh, over an hour south of where we live. Great news for us since we have a second home in MB and are here quite often. Call for reservations and you won't be disappointed either!

This may be the best Italian restaurant on the Grand Strand. The staff is among the nicest, most professional you will ever encounter. I had the veal chops when we went down in March, and they were perfect. The demiglace and potatoes were spectacular. My wife believes Chianti's Fetticuni Shrimp Alfredo is the best she's ever had. We also agree that their house merlot is also the best we've ever had. A wonderful dining experience, and we plan to go back again when we visit the strand in June.

We have been vacationing at Ocean Isle Beach for 20 years and have passed this restaurant numerous times on our way to Myrtle Beach for dinner, never noticing it or stopping to try it. I read the reviews on it here and we decided to give it a try. We have been twice within 1 month, everything we have had has been excellent. The bread they serve beforehand could easily make a meal: Very crusty italian with a wonderful soft interior, served with olive oil and parmesan cheese....I'm drooling already! My husband tried the lentil soup, insisting I at least try one bite. I have hated lentils since childhood, but to appease him I agreed to have one tiny bite. Needless to say, I am now a big fan of their lentil soup, it's not to be missed! Please try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed!

We discovered Chianti South a few years ago and now it is a must every time we visit the Myrtle Beach area. Really fine Italian cuisine here, and classy but not expensive. Can't wait to go back. The wine list is fabulous, and the Castello Banfi Pinot Grigio does not disappoint. Love the huge LiveOak tree outside the window. The staff and owners are friendly and attentive.
