We can't say enough about Bummz Beach Cafe. We love it there. Every time we come to Myrtle Beach this is a definite stop for us. Food is always good, drinks are refreshing and the atmosphere is spectacular. Don't change a thing. We really enjoy the entertainment as well.

Horrible service, people left without being waited on. We would have left but it was raining and we were on foot. Food wasn't bad, but service was terrible. People were getting their own silverware, ketchup and napkins. Those waitresses did not have a clue how to wait tables. It seems they are only worried about the drinkers, because everyone there to eat was ignored.

We went there on a Wednesday night with family from Ohio..it is definitely not a restaurant for families with kids. We sat outside due to the fact that you can smoke inside. But the food was horrible. Every one of us ordered a hamburger meal and they were burnt and flavorless. Not charred, but burnt. The in-laws were horrified by the fact that kids meals do not include drinks. They have 5 children under age 12. We were better off going to McDonald's.

I have been coming to Bummz for years with friends. We always enjoy the food, the atmosphere and enjoy the outside patio. If you want to Karaoke and you have a good voice, you will be allowed to sing as much as you want. And if you sing what the DJ thinks the crowd will like, you will be the star of the night! That takes the fun out of it for many people and there is special treatment given to those who frequent often. Lastly, the bar tender is a good bar tender but gives the best of service to men. It appears that the more people drink, the bigger the tip. I have waited on a seven up for more than 15 minutes while others who come up after me get served right away. It would be nice if this bartender would also force a smile sometimes. I do not know, perhaps she is burned out. So go enjoy Bummz but watch your money and tip big or you will get ask for it!!! Not OKAY!

This place is AMAZING! Me and my family go on vacation and stay at Breakers which is right next door to Bummz. We eat dinner there almost every night! It's a great family place! There is live music and good service! The food is delicious! Very good prices too! Love that its right on the ocean. They even have cornhole you can play while waiting on your food. The BEST fries in the world! Can't wait to go back in 10 days! =) My kids even like that smetimes theres lizards walking on the beach that they go and look for. They brought me back a bunch of snails last time we ate there!

We took our visiting relatives there for dinner. Boy were we embarrassed. We had heard that the food was good and not overly priced. Well...lets just say that all 15 of us were disappointed. How can you mess up a hamburger? Really? Well..as my son the Chef would tell you..you burn it! And that is what they did. It was 216.00 + tax and tip for all of us to eat..or try to eat that food. We left hungry and with a bad taste in our mouths. We wont be back.

We went there the other evening with family from out of town. There were 16 total in our group. It was not busy at all. Everyone including the kids ordered burgers...all of them were burnt and had no flavor what so ever. I was so ashamed that we took our guests to this establishment. We hadn't been there before but we had heard decent things about the place from friends. Sorry to say, we wont be going back there...I think we'd rather eat at McDonald's.

I was justing rating another restaurant in the area and decided to check out Bummz. I was astonished at the mean reviews about Angela. I've been going to Bummz for a few years now and I find Angela to be very pleasant. She has been my favorite waitress there. All of the staff there are friendly and never once have I seen anyone being treated badly. They seem to go the extra mile every time I'm in there. Sorry if you had a bad day but don't blame it on the Bummz staff.

I LOVE THIS PLACE....My first trip to Bummz was on a weekend get away with my (then fiance').....we went to Myrtle Beach for the weekend just so he could take me out to eat there for the Grouper Fingers.....We were married in Aug.2010 and went there for our "wedding party"....I took flowers and had our pictures made out by the beach and used their flora and fawna as a backdrop, everyone was so nice to us....they do not make reservations for weddings, but I had a very small party and they were glad to have us there....I even got to sing with the guy who was performing @ on the accoustic stage....It was so much fun.....going again soon!

I have only gone there once and I will most likley go there again ( because so close to my time share) but I will not order draft, the small cup of Blue Moon way over priced($3.50) and I will not order any of the way over priced entrees.(20% to much) Stick with appitizers. I wish I had spent my $ at Margaritaville.

We usually go to Bummz at least once during happy hour because of the location (right on the beach). They usually have some live music which is always fun, and it's a great place to hang out, have a few drinks and relax. Don't go to Bummz if you're looking for a gourmet meal or really great value, but do go if you want to have a great time and really feel like you're "on vacation." The food is mediocre, but it'll certainly do if you just want to grab a burger or a quick bite to eat. I think the prices are too high for what you get (but they're still reasonable and a lot cheaper than many other places in MB). I guess you pay more for the great location, and when I'm on vacation that's what I'm looking for.

Me and some friends went and ate at Bums for the first time and it was one of the best places I believe I had ever been. They had the best Burgers and Onion Straws. Our waitress was incredible and so nice her name was Lindsay. This girl really deserves a raise due to her hard work to bring us our drinks and food and make sure we were happy all night. So if you ever go to Bums ask for Lindsay to wait on you she will make your night wonderful. Had a great night there and we will be back on our next trip down.

My girlfriend and I went searching up and down Ocean Boulevard for a restaurant or cocktail lounge on the beach. This was the only one. We were in Myrtle beach at the end of the high season. The outdoor atmosphere was perfect. A young man was playing accoustic guitar who reminded me of Jonh Mayer and he was taking requests. The sky was clear. We stayed as the sun went down and the stars came out and sipped on drinks the whole evening. The service was mediocre but I didn't mind going to the bar and getting my drinks. I like to stand up every once and awhile. Drinks were about what expected in price and quality. I think we were there for 6 hours straight. I do not want this place to become overly popular because I think it is the only little known sweet spot of Myrtle Beach.

Family weekend at Myrtle, decided to dine on the beach rather than go to the nasty MB Buffets that carpet Hwy 17. Glad we did...we ordered from the appetizer menu and had a few drinks. Excellent waitress, food was very good, no complaints. We sat at the rear patio, outside and the atmosphere was so beachy and islandish...really liked it, not to mention they had live entertainment! The guy could do "Van Morrison" like Van Morrison does Van Morrison. We stopped in to say Hi to Nick Julian who is a cook there, as we are friends of his family, the legendary "Nuckles Barbecue" people...Hey Nick...buddy, sorry we missed ya!

We have been to Bummz many times over the years... at various times of the year. It is one of the few actual bars ON THE BEACH. The food is decent but it is the atmosphere that is the most entertaining and makes the place worth visiting. Since Bummz is one of the very few bars on the beach, there always seems to be a decent and eclectic crowd there no matter what time of year. It doesn't hurt that the place is situated among the many hotels either. We enjoyed Ken, our bartender, more than a few times. He can hold a great conversation and has also pointed us in the right direction for some good local fun. He has even tagged along with us as an informal 'guide' and he definitely knows how to party. Regardless of his 'interesting' background, please congratulate Ken on his expectant child due in a few months! We know he is looking forward to it! Congrats Ken! And thank you for being part of our great and memorable visits! ;) We hope to see you again next time we visit Bummz!

We ate at Bummz last night based on the reviews we had read here and it was just what we were looking for. Part of outside area is rustic and covered and since there were high winds, the plexiglass sides were down. There was a singer who sounded like Rob Thomas who was very good, and we could see the ocean. Our server Katnetia was fun, very efficient, and friendly and she made some menu suggestions such as the grouper fingers and blackened grouper which we enjoyed. The kids loved their meals too. Inside is more of a typical sports bar which was quite lively. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and funky place to go.

My husband and I visited Bummz on the beach on August 13, 2008. We spotted it the day we arrived in Myrtle beach for our vacation as we were cruising down Ocean Blvd so excited about the week we had ahead of us and spotting out what looked like good places to eat. I told my husband as soon as I saw it that we had to try that place. The exterior of the building is not much but when you walk in, it is so comfortable feeling and people were very hospitable. We only ordered sandwiches and fries but they were exactly what we expected from a beach bar and we thouroughly enjoyed them. We purchased 2 shirts for our kids and they thought they were really cute. We will definitely return there on our next Myrtle beach vacation. Completely satisfied with the service, atmosphere and food. I only wish it was not raining on the day we visited as I would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the beach and outside atmosphere.

I've gone to Bummz all my life and I know everyone there. They are very polite and helpful in anyway they can be. Im sure if you were working for about 5 hours with all different types of people you would be alittle on edge too. I know Angela and she would never say anything rude intentionally. Everyone there works very hard to please the customer and they are human just like we are. The food is very good there and the laid back atmosphere and the friendly people tie it all together for a pleasant experience!

We went to the cafe for dinner one evening and the experience was not a good one. It took forever for anyone to acknowledge and greet us. When we were finally seated, the waitress was very rude, practically throwing the menus to us, which were lunch menus and not dinner menus. She never brought us any water or even ask if we wanted anything to drink. We sat for 15 minutes and she never came back. Eventually, we left and went to another restaurant down the street.

I had lunch the same day as the last reviewers and Angela was my server, also. I was well taken care of in a most friendly way. I don't understand why these people who obviously had overstayed their welcome would risk costing someone their job. This girl could be a single parent and maybe she needed to get out of there to see her kids. I have worked as a server (NEVER a WAITRESS) for 28 years and always give others a break because you never know what they may be going through. If they needed a place to hold a meeting of some sort then they should have made prior arrangements with management. Never assume that your server has the entire afternoon to spend with you. Shifts usually end around 2 or 3pm. If they spent a long time at the table a 20% tip was no favor to anyone. She could have turned that table and made twice as much. This restaurant will always be successful due to it's location and party atmosphere so don't waste your time putting it down.

We're locals, and we love Bummz.

Yesterday, though, we had a waitress - ANGELA - who was rude, and I mean repeatedly rude. Kept trying to get us to hurry out of there, even though we were having a productive informal business lunch with appetizers and drinks for four. Every time she returned to the table she made snide, rude remarks, even after making mistakes (like emptying an ashtray into a 1/3 full drink), saying very snottily, "There's plenty more where that came from". Never once did she apologize for her mistakes or her rudeness. None of us at the table responded back to her utter rudeness, paid the $80+ lunch tab, and still tipped her a completely undeserved 20%.

We eat at Bummz all the time, and have for years and years, but for the FIRST time ever -- we left feeling bad for spending our money there - all because of an extremely rude waitress named Angela.

We'll still eat at Bummz every month or so, but if she is ever assigned our table again, I'll immediately insist on another waitress. She has no manners and is not courteous enough to ever receive another gratuitous dime of our money.

Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I ever had. The wife and I sat a table for 20+ minutes and were never greeted/served although groups at the tables to the left and right of received constant attention. I eventually approached a waitress and requested menus. I then returned to my table and continued to wait for service as I watched two more groups come in and receive instant service. The wife and I walked out without ever being served or acknowledged. Not my type of place!

My husband and I just went there last week and we LOVED it. We went on a friday evening (6pm or so) and there was a band that was great. The ocean breeze and the sound of the ocean was amazing. The drinks were great and the food was awsome (try the oyster rockafeller). The service was attentive and very helpful. This is a place to go unwind and relax. There is a little yard area the the kids can play in while you relax. Nice place for families or couples. Highly reccomended. I just wish we would have found it sooner.

I've been several times, only because my co-worker always suggested it as a mutual meeting area for our groups. I was always disappointed. The t.v. commercials make it out to be more than it is. Wait staff was always unfriendly and unattentive. Food was mediocre...nothing special at all. Rolls were dried out on two occasions.

I went to Bummz with high expectations and was a little disppointed. We sat outside, which was very nice since this restuarant is located on the beach. But the service wasn't as great as at other restaurants and the food was just ok. I imagine this is a better place to go for drinks during the day since there is an outdoor bar.

Great ambiance, but mediocre food, poor service, and a nasty attitude on the part of management. Watch it or you will be double-charged for mixed drinks or cocktails without prior notice, and no recourse except pay or go to jail. When I was charged $22 for 2 black russians with house vodka, served in plastic cups, and took it to the manager I got the "that's how they do it all over myrtle beach" routine. I have drunk black russians from alaska to boca raton and never been double-charged like that before. Very mercenary, especially considering that the grouper served was not grouper, and the salad consisted of iceberg lettuce with store-bought dressing in small plastic tubs. They don't know the meaning of "customer service." .

Nothing really good or really bad. Just your typical M.B. tourist trap. The outside bartender is excellent and very helpful with advise on the local happening's. Best thing about the place.

I am a local - had a friend in from out of town - decided to show him what I felt wass one fo the nicest beach bars in M.B. - stopped by for a Bloody Mary - on a Sunday afternoon and we were very dissapointed that the Bloody Mary was in the smallest cup size available - possibly the size of a juice glass - and I believe it was $4.75 for bar brand vodka. Not the greatest impression for an out of town friend.

What a great place. Had the grilled grouper, it was very good although they did put spices on it and I would rather have plain grilled, but it was good none the less. The prices can't be beat either. We were actually there the Sunday when the COLTS (Go Blue) played the Redskins and there were several Colts fans there, so we had a great time....plus the Colts won! The service was good, they even changed a couple of the TV's so we could see the game better.

What a great place !!!! Beautiful view of the ocean and people on the beach from the outside deck. We had the nicest waitress who was talkative and very friendly. The food was absolutely excellent - and portions were HUGE.. we couldn't finish what we ordered. We'll go back again and again.
