I was looking for an italian restaurant while in vacation in MB and saw in the phone book that this was rated the best italian restaurant in MB 4 yrs in a row. They gave you a lot of food however, for someone that wants to eat healthier there is limited options on the menu. The bread they give you w/ the marinara sauce was excellent. The soup was doused in parmesan cheese and the salad drenched in oil that i could not even finish it. i ended up getting the chicken parmesan for an entree which was just OK but then again i am from NY and from an italian family so i am used to having good italian food. My fiancee liked his gnocchi however. I don't know that i would go back but it wasn't bad and reasonably priced for all the food you get w/ your meal.

We were there on June 4th for the first time and we loved this place. The atmosphere was wonderful; the owners were friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The food was delicious and very plentiful. We were allowed to relax . . . no rush to order. And, our waiter, Frank, was efficient, friendly, but not intrusive. We're planning a return trip to Myrtle Beach in early September and we can't wait to return to Villa Romana

We decided to give Villa Romana a try. The service was excellent in the beginning. A waiter encouraged us the food menu items that are expensive, however we ordered for pasta and paste meal instead and the meatballs were ok to us. The waiter did not come to us to check if what we need like refilled bread while we were eating. The light was too dim, we barely were able to read the menu. We arrived early, before the rush. Toward the end of the meal our server was nowhere to be found. He was busy serving the other people that were being seated. We recieved our check which not mention that the 15% gratituity for the four of us was already included.

We pre-ordered with the owner Veal Ossum boca, filet pomodoro. The owner came out and joined us for a chat and went home to be with his family, as his grandchildren where leaving the area. It was a truly great adventure, out of my area, which is Connecticut in this Italian feast. As we are Italian Americans and eat this type of food everyday, it was a joy to be received so graciously and so accomodating. Also, I took home one of your surprise recipes. We are coming down in August with Our Aunt & Uncle, who are also entrepreneurs. We plan to come to your restaurant Sunday August 17,2008 for sure because that is Pasta day. Please advise if we should make reservations now. Looking forward to seeing you then! Chao

My fiance and I came to Myrtle Beach approx. 3 years ago. WE FEEL IN LOVE with Villa Romana. The food was excellent and the service great! We just loved Michael on the accordian who played music from our generation and had people in the restaurant singing along. What a down home feeling and atmosphere at Villa. We have planned our next vacation in April and have plans to go back to Villa. I have even told a friend of mine who is going to Myrtle Beach the earlier part of April to visit! Looking forward to another great time at Villa Romana!!!!!!!!

I was so happy to find this restaurant. I am from NY and always thought we had the best Italian food.....well...Villa Romana is excellent. The owner and his wife are very friendly...they make you feel like your home. The wait staff is very professional and friendly. I love the accordian guy from NJ....he is so funny...I never knew I could like an accordian...he made it fun...the food was just great every time I went. I go to myrtle beach about 10 times a year and make it a point to have dinner at least one night at Villa Romana. sincerely, pat olsson...Long Island, NY

Every time we visit Myrtle Beach we make sure to also visit this excellent restaurant. Being Italian myself, I know good food and this place excels in it's freshness and it's ability to capture the homemade goodness I remember growing up. You can't do any better for Italian food in Myrtle, and the accordian player, Michael, makes the night even more memorable. I also used to play accordian as a kid and he just adds to the trip down memory lane. We'll be back!

I can not say enought about this place. Every time Jason and I go we are treated like family. The food is just simply put true authentic Italian food. Prepared in the most excellent way. The staff is intune to our every need. Michael playing the accordian just adds that much more to the ambiance. Although, he has never played for us because we spend to much time talking with him. To sum it up...I have reccomended this place many times and look forward to gracing the doors again for excellent food, wine and friends. Not to mention the cello!!!!!!!

On Nov. 30th my wife and I visited after reading the reviews on here. We arrived about 8 pm and were seated promptly. We were not sure if we had made a good choice or not because of the strong cigarette smell from the smoking section. As soon has the food started arriving, we knew this place was a winner! The portabella mushroom appetizer was fantastic. The salads were very tasty and the perfect size! My wife loves eggplant and Villa Romana really satisfied her taste buds. I had the veal and it was tender and great. The site made pasta really was great...fresh is best! .

Other than allowing smoking, the place is darn near perfect. We'll be back and tell others about it!

Read all the 4 star reviews about Villa Ramana on line, decided to try it not expecting all that I read. Folks, let me tell you it was more than I expected. Food outstanding felt that I was back in Italy. Say hello to Fran the owner, her husband from Rome is a true restauranter. I had the veal absolut and my husband had an equally good veal dish. You can't go to Myrtle Beach without dining at Villa Romana. Bueno Appetito! Ciao..

Growing up in in Italian Restaurant, I consider myself to be an Italian food snob. This place is the real deal! Authentic food, Authentic atmosphere, Outstanding Food and Wonderful service (We usually request Camille) . The owners are wonderful people and are often seen in the dining room, going table to table, insuring that their guests are satisfied. The meal includes bruschetta, soup, salad, the best bread rolls in myrtle beach, and the main course. The veal dishes are world-class, as well as my favorite gnocchi. You really cant go wrong ordering from their menu. The prices include a gratuity, however, we always through some extra dollars Camille's way, due to her fine service. The accordian player is extremely talented and humorous. He plays Italian traditionall music mixed with contemporary music (Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin) and is excellent with children. Make sure he does "Old MacDonald" for the kids. Best Food in Myrtle Beach without a doubt, and very reasonable prices! Trust me - you can't go wriong!

I went with a group of friends who were visiting Myrtle Beach from all over. We had never eaten at Villa Romano, but looked the menu up online and were impressed with the prices (similar to Carabbas, but much more food....). The wait staff is excellent, from the hostess to the guy who loaded our to-go boxes. They are very accomodating and very nice. I had the Shrimp San Marzano....and it was excellent. I couldn't finish it because I had filled up on salad (great dressing), bread (crusty and the dipping sauce is addictive) and soup (which was tasty). The portions were excellent and everything well cooked. I would highly recommend this place and can't wait to introduce it to others!

My mother and I went to the beach from Virginia last year. Villa Romana was definately one of the hightlights and we decided to go twice. the second time we went we thought we would have to wait and we didn't care we would have waited all night! I'm taking my fiance there this year and can't wait to go. Sure there's the beach but I think I'm more excited to eat at Villa Romana. I tell anyone headed to Myrtle to GO!

We have been told by friends to try Villa Romana and have never made the time. This year we did, and are we glad. The food was GREAT. I haven't had Italian food this good in a long time. The staff sat us immediately, go early it filled up in about 15 minutes after we arrived. Make reservations. They start you with warm bread and sauce to dip, then soup and salad, and then your meal. We had dishes with Veal and they were delicious. Wish they'd open one in New York. Wait Staff was always there for any refills or to ask us if we needed anything. There will always be time on future visits for Villa Romana.

My husband and I are regulars at Villa Romano and know the excellent entertainer and accordianist personally. During the summer months it is a difficult trip to the restaurant from Loris. The craving for italian food got the best of us and led us to try Umbertos for the first time. Never, never again. Poor service and poor food. The veal was thick and rubbery and the sauces tasted as though they were reheated many times. We love you Villa Romano and will see you again in Sept.

Villa Romana has been in Myrtle Beach since 1985. I consider myself to be a "foodie". I would describe the food as upscale homestyle italian. I have eaten at the restaurant 5 times in the past 4 years and it never disappoints. The atmosphere is family oriented with many large parties of families who return year after year. The value for the money is excellent. You get a complimentary plate of bruschetta and then soup and salad with your entree. All of the food is prepared from scratch and made to order so if you are expecting to get in and out in 45 minutes you may want to reconsider. The family takes great pride in the restaurant and it shows. The food is among the best of homestyle italian (vs. fine dining italian) that I have ever eaten. The kitchen can only put out so much food at once so sometimes the meals take awhile (not the servers fault). The wine list offers plenty of choices at different price points. This is a Myrtle Beach institution not to be missed!

My wife, son, and I ate there on 7/17/07 and we thought the place was great. They came by to make sure everything was to our satisfaction, refilled our beverages as we were finishing them, and the food was some of the best Italian we've ever had. I asked the hostess if it was possible to come to New York to open another. Great Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

My family of four decided to give this restaurant a try after reading other reviews. We arrived around 5:00 and was seated right away, however the manager told the hostess that we would be the last ones being seated without a reservation. She was very unprofessional when speaking to the hostess. We felt bad for her. The meal was excellent and our waitress was very attentive. However, after we ordered the restaurant was getting crowded, I guess, with people that had made reservations. We all of a sudden became less important to our waitress. We waited over 45 minutes getting our check and paying our bill and the gratuity was already added to our bill. My husband didn't question it since we already waited so long. Overall, it was way overpriced for what we ordered. Our next trip to Myrtle Beach, for italian, will be Carrabba's.

We recently dined here on our vacation. The waitress seemed a little put out to serve us. I don't believe she had the job she needed. Our food took quite a long time to be served, when we got it two dinners were less than satisfactory. One was eggplant parm, one of my favorite meals. It was very dry and rubbery as if it was not freshly prepared. The second unsatisfactory meal was fetuccini with shrimp, the noodles were overcooked. My children ordered spaghetti which was o.k. I chose to not mention my dissatisfaction with the eggplant parm because of the waitress' negative behavior. I did insist my son mention he was not satisfied with his meal. By the time we could even find the waitress to let her know. The rest of the family was done eating. She took his meal away, came back 10 minutes later and said they would charge us 5.00 due to the fact some of the shrimp was eaten and that he could order something else. He ordered another dinner and asked to have it put in a to go container since we were long finished eating. The waitress never inquired why I didn't eat my dinner or wonder why I didn't want a to go container even though I took only two bites and left the rest because it was horrible. This was a total disaster, very expensive and no one seemed to care..

Everything about Villa Romana is wonderful. We requested to be seated at this little area that has only one table. Surprisingly, they had it waiting for us! I figured I would try to get it for the privacy but I never expected to get the seat so easily. We have never waited longer than 5 minutes to be seated. We've been to the Villa 3 times and we love it. I can actually say that the Villa is my favorite! The taste and price of the food is beyond excellent!

Having eaten, what I considered to be, great Italian food, all over this country, I have decided that Villa Romana is now my favorite Italian restaurant! Actually, it has become my favorite restaurant period!

The staff makes you feel just like your are eating at their home and the food was absolutely delightfully delicious! We ate at this restaurant twice during the week that we were in Myrtle Beach and we would have eaten there absolutely every night if we had discovered it earlier.

I would find any excuse to re-visit Myrtle Beach, just so that I could dine again at Villa Romana. It is clearly a "jewel" in Myrtle Beach and It comes with THE Highest of Recommendation by a guy who considers himself to be like a human-version of "Morris The Cat", when it comes to great food!

We stumbled on to this place from an ad in the yellow pages and I am glad we did. This place is by far not only the best Italian food that I have ever eaten but one of the most entertaining evenings that I have had in a long time. The wait staff was very professional and helpful, the accordian player was cool, the atmosphere was very laid back.

We stay down at Pawleys/Litchfield area and rarely venture up into Myrtle Beach to eat since there are so many great restaurants such as Frank's, Louis, Austin's, Rice Patty. I have to say that this place has become my new favorite and we will make our first stop everytime we come to the area.

I strictly went here to Villa Romana based on the reviews this site got and by checking out the Restaurant's website too. Being an Italian American myself, I seen prepared food items on that menu that I've only had and tasted as a child growing up in Upstate New York near Syracuse. So I arrived there with my family and my best friend's family for dinner (Nine of us) after driving 15 hours to Myrtle Beach and getting ready and thinking about this meal all the way down I-95 We were very hungry and we had 6:30 reservations and we called to see if we could possibly bump them up earlier to like 5:00 PM. No problem, they were very accomodating. Next we were seated by the hostess in the back as our tables were moved together for our party of 9 that soon became 8 because the 14 year old became sick all of the sudden from the drive down to SC. Anyway, our waitress introduced herself to us now I can't for the life of me remember her name right now but we did notice that she was originally from the Bronx, NY and now she lives down there with ya'll. She was an excellent server and definately knew how to work the table, even with the kids sitting at the table, she was so patient with them and made their dining experience a pleasureable one. You know how hard it is to take kids to places and keep them entertained. But anyways, the food was totally amazing from the Bruschietta to the soup, to the Italian dinner rolls, to the salad to appetizers to the main course. In my opinion, this restaurant blows away the competition from almost any other Italian American Eatery from the North, South, East or West., and I've eaten at quite a few everywhere I go. This establishment was amazing. We went back there 6 days later to try it again, and we weren't disappointed again. The second time we were there, the accordianist was playing and singing and the children really got a kick out of that. Amazing Italian Cuisine. If you're a tourist down there in Myrtle Beach or a resident of MB, do yourself a favor and go to eat here at Villa Romana. ...... The Chef even comes to your table personally to see how you've liked the meal, now that's class and committment. I can't wait to eat here again and again in the near future.

Grazie Rinaldo, Franca e Bianca

Grazie Mamma Lucia per le vostre ricette ed il vostro amore di cottura. Grazie per potare una parte de Roma noi qui alla Spiaggia, del Myrtle.

We finally visited this restauant last month. All the reviews you read here are true. The salad dressing and sauces taste just like my grandmas. The only negative I can think of is that its so crowded that it was hard to get a parking spot at 8:30 at night in the off season. Be prepared for a wait but the wait is definitely worth it.

One of the best italian meals we've ever had. My wife asked for chicken marsala (which wasn't on the menu) and they gladly made the dish for her. It was easily the best chicken marsala either of us had tasted. The accordian entertainment was authentic and pleasent. The interior is partitioned with plants and waist high walls that gave an outdoor garden feel. The staff knew their business and moved quickly to clean the tables in order to minimize the wait. The cost was in the olive garden range but the quality and taste is vastly better. Next time we're in mb, we'll be back..

This is the place in MB for authentic Italian food with outstanding service and atmosphere. Have been frequently this restaurant for 21 years and never had a bad dinner or poor service. Have had several special occasion dinners with many guest which were arranged with the owners Rinaldo and Fran. Everything was handled without problem. Rinaldo & Fran took the time to create, print a special menu for the occasions freaturing each possible dinning choice-meat, pasta, seafood. Service is superb even when the restaurant is busy especially highlighted is Camille, Duffy and John (the manager) or of course, can not forget Michael the accordian player who has a great sense of humor and a various repertoiry of musical selection. This is one restaurant that is a must to visit while visiting MB because it will be come a favorite for the future.

The wait staff have many years of experience and polish. The strolling accordinist is funny and talented. Rinaldo's food is second to none. This is the real thing, lovingly cooked from scratch. As a local, I give it the highest possible marks for value, consistency, entertainment, and cuisine.

Simply the best italian restaurant in myrtle beach. I've been a visitor to mb for 37 years, and have been a permanent resident for 2 years now. I've tried just about every italian restaurant around, and this is the best. I get the eggplant parmesan and my friends and family have tried the veal absolute, chicken parmesan and other veal dishes. They serve a wonderful brucheta appetizer, bread and salad before your entree. The italian beer is wonderful too. Once time when I was there, the chef came out to meet us--wonderful! the servers and everyone that works there are excellent, and now every other italian restaurant pales in comparison. If you're a vegetarian like me, they will accommodate you kindly.

We ate at the Villa Romana restaurant on our recent trip to Myrtle Beach(July 2006). I choose this place because of all the positive reviews from this website. I am really glad I listened to all these. The food here was absolutely the best we had in Myrtle Beach. It was very reasonably priced for all you get. You will definately not leave here hungry. We loved the accordion player who went to the different tables. He came to my 15 month old granddaughter and was playing childrens songs for her. This will be one of our first stops next year when we return to Myrtle Beach. One of the best restaurants we have visited.

I am a local to Myrtle Beach and when people ask me where to get great seafood, I send them to Villa Romana. Their blackened grouper is to die for ! I also love the Veal Ceasar (topped with creamy crabmeat sauce), Veal Marsala (best I've ever had) and the Veal Absolut (they say it's their own recipe), it's loaded with fresh mushrooms and a creamy vodka sauce, yum ! I could eat there nightly and have on many occasions eaten there twice in one week.

I recently had a very fine dining experience at V.R. I had the Veal Chop and it was divine. I plan to try other items when I return. I'm a local and plan to be back many times in the future. The service was excellent and the waitor was very personable and charming. (I think his name was Daniel) If you love REAL Italian food, I suggest you dine at the Villa Romana.

My parents, brother, and I went to Villa Romana in May 1999. It was a WONDERFUL experience...we enjoyed ourselves SO MUCH that I wrote to them to thank them. I've been on their Christmas card list ever since! How about that?!?

My husband and I are returning to the area in May 2006 and I wanted to see if Villa Romana was still getting the same kind of rave reviews I gave it 6 years ago. I'm not surprised to see that people are still quite pleased with their experience. I cannot wait to introduce my husband to Villa Romana!!!

Want a piece of authentic Little Italy food and ambiance while in Myrtle Beach? It's definitely here, at Villa Romana!

I'm a local here, and I STILL try to eat at Villa Romana at least every couple weeks.

The food is amazing, but the ambiance definitely beats anything I've seen before. Rinaldo, the owner and head chef, will come by your table to make sure everything is ok (which trust me, it'll be more than ok!) and Mike, the accordian player will make sure you enjoy your trip.

As an Italian from Northeast PA, and I am accustomed to being surrounded by a plethera of great Italian restaurants.

Until now, my wife and I have been unable to find good quality Italian food in Myrtle Beach.

These folks do it right. Food and customer service are top notch. Prices are less than I would have expected!

Absolutely the best! We are locals - and I am current president of the Sons of Italy, so I think I know good Italian! Owners and chefs are all Italian-born and raised, so Villa Romana is as authentic as it gets. Food is to die for, service is wonderful (well, ok, so m-a-y-b-e they spoil me a little!), and Michael on the accordion will entertain and amuse.

This is the place to eat if you want great food and service! Everything is prepared fresh in house. We dine here frequently, bring friends and family, recommend it to others, and never has anyone been disappointed! The food is superb, the service is excellent, the atmosphere is filled with wonderful accordian music and lots of laughter. For a wonderful dining experience at a very reasonable price, go to Villa Romana!

Four of us have been coming to the Myrtle Beach area to golf for 16 years now. We were lucky to discover Villa Romana the first year down. We've gone back every year since. This is some of the best Italian food I've ever had! Make sure to go Thursday - Saturday to catch the accordion player. He's very funny and can play anything!

This is the best Italian restaurant in Myrtle Beach !! It is homey, friendly, superior food, and good service. I always go the Villa Romana when vacationing in South. Carolina. I am from the Northeast, where Italian Restaurants are plentiful. This restaurant is better than some up here !!
