There were (4) of us who dined here in July and it was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was great. Not much more you can ask for! Plus the blood orange margarita was amazing.

The food was fine, but not such that it would beckon us to return for anything that we had eaten. Our waitress, Caroline, was very attentive. We enjoyed her sunny, yet genuine personality. Our appetizers were presented promptly, and the time until our entrees was a typical wait . The portions were average to slightly small. The atmosphere is modern, yet attractive and subdued, with just enough of a noise level to afford diners their privacy. It was a nice dining experience. The only thing that we were disappointed about was that they no longer serve sushi/raw bar items.

My daughter and I were vacationing, and staying down the street from UMI's. We stopped there to eat, because the location was convenient, and we were so happy we did. The waiter and the waitress we had were the best I have ever experienced The food was superb. I had scallops, and my daughter had the hibachi. We were in MB for two weeks and we both ranked UMI's food as one of the best we had while vacationing. The atmosphere was very serene and the restaurant was impeccably clean. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting MB if you want fine dining at a reasonable rate.

We have dined in top restaurants around the country and in Canada. This restaurant rates with this class of eating experience. This chef knows what he is doing. The soup was superb, the salad and the house dressing were outstanding and the main dish were first class. The service was professional. Nothing else in the Grand Strand compares with UMI.

While in Myrtle Beach it was suggested that we visit Umi Pacific Grille; what a treat? The decor is beautiful and the service superb. The Executive Chef Walton out did himself with our food. The waiter told us about the food, the chef and we enjoyed the wine very much. The salad, chop chop salad was to die for. I would suggest to anyone with a special person to visit Umi Pacifi Grille. Ten stars for this

A group of 13 had dinner last night (08/13/08) for a friend's 40th birthday. It was not very busy yet it took us over an hour to get our food. One girl ordered only crab cake appetizer and salad. She never received her salad. After approximately a 15 minute wait after ordering a beer from out waiter, my husband finally went to the bar and got them himself. We were told by members of our party that the waiter was out back where they were smoking a cigarette. Although he was very nice he is probably in the wrong business. The food was very good once we got it but there are too many great restaurants around to subject ourselves to that kind of service again.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING! Don't let location in supermarket parking lot fool you. When you walk in decor is elegant and soothing-like you are under the sea. Service is prompt and courteous. Signature cocktails are delicious and different. Menu has something for everyone and 5 stars on taste! Will be back again and again

Your spending about $50 to $75 a head on noodles and rice. Not worth it. Place is huge and it feels like your eating in a warehouse. We were there on a friday night and there was about 10 tables in the restaurant. If thats all they can manage i dont see them staying in business too long.

This is an excellent restaurant. Reservations are recommended, but we came unannounced and were provided comfortable seating in the bar. Though we were chilly and the wait staff was cordial, but yet knowledgable about the new menu, we loved the food and dining experience. "Eat the meat," was my teenage daughter's advice. I'm a flexitarian (mostly vegan, but will try a bite of flesh now and then) and found the menu to fit both our tastes. "Best steak I've ever had," said my husband who has overpaid for Kobe several times. We'll be back....

For those that think this place is too pricey or not enough food, all I can say is stick to glutting yourself at the local golden corral! this place was excellent, great food, service, atmosphere and price. Very classy, cutting edge, for the true connoiseur. Anyone else should probably hit the greasy calabash buffets. :-).

This is a must for anyone who wants a fine dining experience in Myrtle Beach. We were a party of eight who arrived on Sunday night. We had a varied menu. We all enjoyed each item we had. The waiter was superb. He knew his menu and made suggestions without trying to have us buy the most expensive item on the menu. If you want to be treated special go to The Pacific Grill.

We tried this place on a whim-what a beautiful rest. Food is different--definitely for the adventurous. Eventhe dessert was great. A little priceybut the freshest most inovative food to be had on the beach. I had never had butterfish before and was told it was awful--not here. What a great chefs this place has.

This is a solid pan-Asian restaurant and we will definitely go back. Service was outstanding - we were seated promptly (had reservations), and our server was prompt, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was generally quite good, though perhaps not quite on par with a comparably-priced similar restaurant in a major city. We had the lobster wontons as a starter, and they were outstanding, perfectly cooked and paired with a trio of exquisite sauces. Main courses were the pineapple shrimp and the ginger-lime crusted tuna. The former was well-prepared and well portioned, a very mainstream dish which my wife quite enjoyed. The tuna dish was a bit of a disappointment. The tuna itself, a good-sized portion, was nicely cooked (medium rare), but lacking in flavor. There was no "crust" on the fish, simply a seasoning rub. The sides were, however, spectacular. A spicy bean sort of cassoulet was the starch, and an excellent array of picked vegetables accompanied. The sides far outshone the tuna, and as this is one of the more expensive entrees, that was a little disappointing. Dessert was a sampler trio consisting of creme brulee, green tea cheesecake, and a chocolate spring roll with green tea ice cream. The brulee was perfectly prepared, and as this is my favorite dessert, I was most pleased. I didn't get to try the spring roll, though my wife loved it, and the ice cream was quite nice. Unlike a previous review, we enjoyed the green tea cheesecake. It had a nice flavor of green tea without being overpowering. The wine list is pretty extensive, ordered logically, and reasonably priced. We had a very nice viognier for about $32 that complemented our meals well.

Umi was Highly recommended by the concierge at Dye Villas where we own a Villa. During our stay this week we dined twice, both times our service was Excellent and the food was beyond expectation! The crab cake appetizer, the butterfish and the scallops were exceptional!! The best we've had in years. Then came the deserts which were delectable! Try the chocolate cake with ice cream and macadamia cookie drizzled with Kahlua chocolate sauce or the Creme Bruelee..... The atmosphere is unique and creative....very cosmopolitan....very Manhattan or South Beach.....different and better than anywhere else in the beach area. Find time to dine here. You will return.

My husband and i had our first wedding anniversary on June 3rd, and decided to go to pacific grill after seeing a commercial on TV. We are a younger couple with very little money : ( We were seated immediately after walking in the door. The service was excellent, and the food was even better, the lighting was perfect. It was a little pricey for us, but more than well worth it overall. I would definately reccommend anyone to go there, and we'll be going back ourselves..... maybe out next anniversary : )

The atmosphere of the restaurant was great however, the amount of food served was extremely overpriced. You definitely pay for the ambience and not the quantity of food. The restaurant was out of the daily special when the early seating started. In my opinion it should have been removed from the entree list.

We recently visited Myrtle Beach with our granddaughters and stumbled upon this place. We almost turned around and left as we entered thinking it would be too adult and too expensive for them. We were pleasantly surpised. Great food and staff, and the kids were treated very well. I would definitely go again. This was the best restaurant of our entire trip.

We ate their with a party of nine. The food in general was excellent. Between all of us, we had the duck entree, the pinapple shrimp, the sesame scallops, and the butter fish; all were very good. The desserts also got good reviews, with the exception of the green tea cheesecake which wasn't a big hit. The decor was interesting; the music was not intrusive (as I'd read in another review). The service was exemplary as well, we're all looking foward to going back at a later time.

Three of our party were (well behaved) children under ten; they really enjoyed their choices from the children's menu; and especially enjoyed the presentation (bento boxes).

Heartily recommended.
