Went there last year with friends for my birthday. Mistake! very pricy, food not good, service even worse, and not big enough portions. This was just the beginning. Waiter, when he did arrive, took our order and when the food finally arrived was wrong for 2 out of 4 people. Will not ever visit again or recommend to anyone. (not friends that I would like to keep anyway) .

We have been eating at The Crab House for years and found our last visit to be one of the best. Although we didn't try the buffet it looked wonderful but neither of us are really buffet people. We tried the tuna taco's, crab cakes and broiled seafood platter and everything was prepared well and served hot. The service was without a doubt the best we had while on vacation. We would highly recommend this place.

We ate there Saturday when we arrived in town, having eaten at the Crab House on several occaisions in the past. We were very disappointed in the menu, I couldn't get a side salad (only a salad bar as part of my meal for another $7.50), the entre prices were not a good value, in my opinion, and my husband and I were both disappointed in the quality of food served. I ordered the grilled tuna, and it was very dry, my husband ordered the snapper and he said it was ok but salty, and my husband, two year old, and I, who all enjoy broccoli, couldn't eat the broccoli served -- it was bitter, undercooked and overripe, almost yellow (not GREEN). For three of us, it cost us about $65 and we couldn't eat half of what was served.

My first and last time at this restaurant was bad to say the least.it started when my kids and I ordered water to drink. The server said "the kids meals include a soda", as if I am cheap for ordering water.then I gave my server a coupon for free crap dip. He mumbled something and then said i'll give you some time to look at the menu. He came back and we ordered calamari as an appetizer and I again asked if we could have the crab dip. He didn't acknowledge me, so I assumed that he was just going to bring it out. He didn't. Then he brings our dinner out. He came back once to see if everything was ok. Then I tasted the stuffed crab-how gross! I could taste the freezer burn! our server never came back though to check on us! I wanted to say something then, but my husband said "he already thinks we're cheap" I will never eat here again!.

We went to The Crab House with a very large party. We were seated right away and our drink orders were taken. The appetizers arrived shortly as well as our drinks. Our waiter brought our bread a little later then we would have liked. I ordered a shrimp combination plate with three different types of shrimp, broccoli, and pasta. Everything tasted very good but it was not as hot as I would have liked. My husband ordered the seafood and salad bar which was all you can eat. They do things different here because the waiter has to bring you a plate each time you want to go up. I think this is their way of making sure you don't eat too much. He really enjoyed the food but was a little frustrated when he asked for his third plate and had to wait over ten minutes. He ended up just sticking with two plates which didn't exactly make up for the $30 price of the seafood bar.

I've been it myrtle for 2 weeks and this has to be the worst place to eat in all of myrtle... I sent my cold crablegs back once then they just reheated them and brought the same back to me that were now really over cooked. Now they were extremely hard to get out of shell. My wifes food was ordered off the special menu and was not worth it for the money, we will never go back, very unsatisfied.

We are originally from NY and have been living in MB for approximately 4 months. We have eaten at many seafood restaurants and definitely think the meals are great here. We think the crab cakes are the best in the area. Every meal we have ordered was excellent, except for the king crab legs, which were a big disappoint to our son. There just was not enough and they were pricey, but we will definitely be back. Service was great and the serve staff was friendly and helpful. Upstate NY

We live in Myrtle Beach and in July we stopped for couple appetizers and drinks at this restaurant. We had a wonderful experience! The Bloody Mary they make for happy hour are awesome, they garnish it with a huge shrimp! Great value! We started with couple of those, tried frozen Margaritas and ened up with Mojitos! Our bartender Pete did an excellent job, the best Mojitos we've ever had! We also tried Oyster appetizer and coconut shrimp! food was excellent! We also liked the atmosphere, it was nice and friendly. They were not very busy and we felt so special for all the attention we got from the bartender! We are definitely coming back!

My family really enjoyed this restaurant. There was a guy there who made balloon pets for all of us. The food was okay. It's better to come when they first open then later when they start to mass produce food. Prices need to be lower, remember it's alot of families vacationing, money is tight. Needs more lighting, and the air conditioner was great, nice and cool. We would come back again.

On our last day at MB, we looked for some seafood and decided to try this out. At first, things looked promising- lots of good fish choices on the menu and lots of crab. But the food was just OK at best. My grilled mahi was OK- nothing spectacular about the taste or texture- I've had better. My wife thought her grilled halibut was tastless and didn't even finish half her plate. Our son's fried shrimp was OK- I've had better. They overloaded each of us with broccoli and it wasn't that good. The service was good- the waiter was attentive and polite. The outdoor seating was scenic and nice (right on the lake). But for the amount on the check (66.00), I expected much higher qualit than this. Overall, the meal was kind of disappointing. A convenient place to go at B at B, but not worth it.

On April 5th 2007 our family of 4 adults arrived for dinner around 4:45 p.m. We were seated right away. We ordered drinks, which were served promptly, along with hot bread. It took at least 35 minutes for our food to arrive. My shrimp fresca tasted fine at first, but the more I ate, the more the shrimp tasted like they had freezer burn. My husband's ribeye was just fair, it was fatty and wasn't served with the onions and sauce described on the menu but came with broccoli instead. My son said his stuffed shrimp also tasted like they had freezer burn. Not knowing what would happen if we sent our food back, we just ate what we could stomach and left. Overall, this experience was enough to keep us from returning to this particular restaurant.

Went there over thanksgiving vacation. Decided to eat there because it was close to Palace Theater. Food was good. Menu is a little expensive. I had crab cakes, very reasonable and wife had fish and chips. A lot of food for the price. Very attractive interior. Service was good. Coffee after dinner was expensive and not that great. Over all, a good experience.

I had the seafood platter. It looked like the oysters had been cut into 5 pieces and fried. You could not taste the so called oyster through all of the corn meal. 2 fish sticks and 3 oysters. You are better off going to Captain D's, A salad did not come with the steak - It was 20.95 for a thin steak, one scoop of mashed potatoes and frozen broccoli. Pitiful meal. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We just ate here on Wednesday which is Kids Eat Free day. We were seated immediately when we got there. I ordered a sampler platter that included stuffed crab, beer-battered fish, fried shrimp, a crab cake, fries, and cole slaw. It was $20 and very good. My husband ordered the Flounder Florentine which was delicious. He had steamed broccoli with it which he said wasn't very tasty. I think it was also $20. Our 2 year old had grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. He loved the chicken and ate some of the broccoli. He doesn't eat mashed potatoes, so my husband ate them and said they were really good. Since it was Wednesday, his was free. We sat out on the deck and the server brought out some crackers for our son to feed the ducks and fish. He LOVED that. It was the perfect night for eating outside. Toward the end of the meal it was getting dark and the lighting out on the deck wasn't all that great, so it was a little hard to see what I was eating. Our server was a little slow on refilling my tea, but I was thirsty so he did have to refill it about 5 times. He was able to answer our questions about the menu and the strange fish in the pond.

We ate there a few days ago, and we were rather disappointed with the service, the food, the atmosphere, and the value. We had reservations for 7:30 and were seated immediately. I noticed at least 15 empty tables and a very long line at the door. I had the "salad and seafood buffet" for almost $30. It was horrendous. I cannot believe a seafood restaurant would serve something like this. Bland cold steamed shrimp, crawfish and oysters (which I do not like) and Alaskan Crablegs that were watery and cold. I like them steamed and warm. My wife had stuffed shrimp which was average at best. I did like the crab spring rolls. Check one of the local coupon books for a free appetizer of crab dip. That was the best part of the meal. I would not go back to this restaurant. I was in one in Miami that was quite good.

The she-crab soup and bread were very good. But we should have stopped there. We both ordered the tilapia grilled. Mine was burnt. Both had no flavor to speak of. My broccoli was mostly yellow instead of green...definitely not fresh and tasted terrible. We won't go back to any location.

The reviews below are true. We ate there in August and it was really bad.

We were seated right away because we went for lunch and the place was empty. Our server was excellent maybe because we were his only table.

The music was so loud it woke our child who normally sleeps through anything.

The food was HORRIBLE, not even close to being average.

The total was just over $50 bucks for two and NO alcoholic beverages. Just two soups, two entrees and one sprite. Will not visit again!

The food was not at all worth the price we paid!! Beware of this place, I dont know how it's staying in business. Waitress was too busy flirting with men at the next table and making plans for after work to wait on us at all. We were not given refills and when we asked for a box, she had an attitude like we were disturbing her courtship!! I nor my friends will EVER return!!

We were very excited to go to the Crab House and was quickly disappointed. Wait time even with call ahead seating. Went in after 30 minutes to many empty tables. Shouldn't have been a wait time. Expensive menu. $13.95 for salad bar ... not included with meals. Waitress didn't smile once. Sprite refills filled with water. Manager was as bad as the waitress. 18% gratuity automatically added onto ticket with 3 people. Aweful experience for such a so-called classy restaurant. I Do Not Recommend! Spend your money where you're appreciated.
