Went here in the summer for an evening meal and beverage. They did not serve coffee. The waitress said they didn't even stock it. The food was average--not bad, but nothing special.

Love the pasta salad.would love the recipe, it is different. It is typical bar food and can get quite noisy esp. With the trivia game, but the service and friendliness was excellent. Will be visiting carolina forest quite often and will definitely return.

My husband & I took a 92 yr. old friend out for lunch and chose this place it was close to where she lives. We had never been before and will never go back. We thought it was dirty( floors, tables, windows and blinds). When my husband told our server about the floors she said they power was them every 3 months. The service was o.k. the server took the horrible food off our check we had hot dogs who screws up a hot dog. I love pasta but was unable to eat the pasta salad it was like nothing I had ever tasted before. My husband had the potato skins he said they were alright but he's had better. I know you will fing it hard to believe but we don't complain sadly this was worth writing about. It probably has it's followers as a sports bar so who really cares about the cleanliness. I was just very disappointed we should have gone to another restaurant.

After a 7 hour drive from Florida my husband and I pulled in starving. We sat at the bar and realized the kitchen was about to close. The bartender Steve told us not to rush we could take our time to put our order in. He recommended the pizza which was awesome. My husband is from New Jersey and said it tasted just like home. After a long drive it was nice to relax and enjoy a few drinks and great conversation with the locals. Steve and the "regulars" were very welcoming. The Tavern is our new favorite when visiting family in Carolina Forest.

Food is good, especially the pizza. The service sucks. The place is filthy. The fans outside need a cleaning. ( as the fans rotate u wonder if the dust is falling on your food)the floor looks horrible(not swept on a regular basis). They have a junk table, thats always piled up with crap.the doors a not cleaned, fingerprints all over.and last but not least...make sure u take a close look at your bill before u pay! especially in a group setting.

Have eaten here twice, won't be back. First time my husband and I ordered a fried shrimp basket, the shrimp was burnt beyond recognition or edibility. The second time, I ordered the crab dip appetizer, which was hot and bubbly and and golden on the outside, frozen solid on the inside. Service is slow to non-existent. Very noisy, and not too clean.

We consistently enjoy the food: (Excellant burgers, good chicken cheesesteak, good apps - love the crab dip) Decent happy hour specials. But the one thing that is very disturbing is the uncleanness of the bathroooms and dirty windows. I like good food, but when noone cares about the cleanliness of the restaurant, it makes me wonder what the kitchen is like.

Agree with previous poster, best pizza in town. Good pizza (and bread) were the only things I was missing from NJ, at least I can get one of those now! The rest of the food is just OK. Service is spotty. Not a bad place for the locals to get a quick bite away from the tourists.

Absolutely, hands down, no doubt about it, BEST PIZZA in Myrtle Beach. Please, please, please we're begging you -- don't change a thing. Searched all over and finally found pizza that could go toe-to-toe with New York. I am now a happy transplant!

The hamburger was fine- actually pretty good. The french fries were not fresh- a little moist and soggy. I had to ask for my set up and condiments for my burger. The beer came without a napkin to catch the drips. It is noisy- bad acoustics to absorb the sound. The windows between the bar and the patio area need washed- very dirty. Those globe lights hanging over the booths are covered with dust. Why are there cheap Hampton Inn plastic cups at the bar in front of customers? Better places in Myrtle and I would not take my mother to this place. The wait staff are young and inexperienced and it is unclear if the managers are paying attention.

This is a great place for locals to hang out after work during the week. The food is surprisingly good especially the pizza and baby back ribs and they serve good pours. The atmosphere feels like “Cheers” where people can get to know each other. Friendly servers. Saturday night Trivia rocks.

Tavern is a great place to go and hang out. The food is great with their daily specials while the athmosphere is always exciting. By day, the Tavern is a family resturaunt and by night, it turns into a great place for people to come and grab a bite to eat and have a few drings with their friends. The Saturday night team trivia is a huge hit along with karaoke on tuesdays and wendsdays. On Friday nights, there is a live dj playing all the favorites and even some karaoke. The service is great and the bartenders are friendly and love to hangout.

Love the Tavern! The bartender, Chris is AWESOME and the food is excellent. Watch for the specials, they are usually to die for. This is the perfect, "upscale", local's tavern where everybody knows your name. Clean, clean, and did I mention clean? It's not the cheapest place in town, but you get what you pay for. (If you want cheap and don't mind dirty, there's always RJ's or the BH.) The Tavern is worth every penny and CHRIS makes it the best!!

The worst $17 Ribeye dinner ever. No season on the steak. Tasted like they just took it out of the freezer and threw it on a flat top grill. A little garlic salt, onion powder or some other season would be good. Awful and tasteless.

Worst experience I can remember having in a restaurant in years, and we have given them several chances. Living in Carolina Forest means we would love this to be a favorite, but instead, the new owners have made certain that will not happen. The length of time it took to even get a drink order during a weekday lunch was 30 minutes. Unacceptable! It only got worse. Tuna salad platter would be easy you would think, but it was horrible. The tuna was served as scooped out of the bowl, just sitting on the plate, to the left was a pile of iceberg (browning) lettuce, and they forgot the eggs, but 20 minutes later brought them on a plate and just slid them onto our table. We didn't pay a dime or leave a tip which I have NEVER done. I've never experienced worse service, food or dining experience in general.

Maybe the worst value we know in Carolina Forest. The "new rib sauce" is awful. I think the new owners are not of the old saying if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The Crab Cakes went from a nice 6 oz+ Crabcake to a small and way overpriced 4oz. The waitstaff, which was so nice and friendly was negative and did not serve us very efficiently. The bartenders are nasty people and most of all, the PRICES HAVE ALL GONE UP.....Bad form Tavern...The new Tavern is terrible...

Definatley not a go back to place. The drinks are over priced, and the food served is well below average. The chicken tenders are so dried out, and the french onion soup had been water down till the flavor was gone. When we told our server, her reply was"Oh" 15 minuets later she came back and said do you guys want something else? No just the tab.20 minuets later she brought it, the un-eatten food still on the bill. The new chef and menu aren't doing it for us,live music, friendly people, nice management, and maybe we will be back. I can hear sing along in the garage, beach music at the dance clubs, you were to be a family place, and now you want the college crowd, (but are they faithful)? Your old established clietele are gonme.

We spent most of last summer in Myrtle Beach and stopped in at the Tavern whenever we could. Very good "pub grub"! The burgers were massive and the ribs were fall off the bone tender! A great place to relax and have fun. We also had a favorite bartender, Steve Pence. What a great bartender and a true professional! Always a warm welcome and a ready smile. He is an asset to your business. We look forward to seeing Steve and all our friends at the Tavern this coming summer!

After many months of giving them a chance, here is the deal. Food over-priced, they need new cooks and chef, table service is terrible, we waited 20 minuets for a server to show up at the table, had to walk to the bar for drink refills.

The best thing they had going for them was the entertainment from the previous owner. Joan, was super, we ate there every Friday just to hear her. Love the beatles twins, ( any weekend nite would be better.) Week nights don't work for many of the working families that love to hear real music, not canned, sing along.

We will not be returning,, ( as if they will care if they miss our tables of 8-14 locals.) The new owners are not freindly. If you want a decent drink and meal at resonable prices look elsewhere in the forest.

My wife and I visit the Tavern weekly and we have not been disappointed yet. Dave Murphy co owner is always there with a smile & friendly greeting. The service is top notch and the food is awesome. Our favorites are the Tavern Burgers "best in town", Rack of Ribs, French Onion Soup "to die for" Meat Loaf "yummy" and last but not least the Shrimp Ceasar Salad. For a real good meal at down to earth prices you can't beat the Tavern..

Not real good. Ate there because of the ads in the Carolina Forest Newspaper. Was disappointed. Went to Longbeards behind the shopping center. Was suprised. It was very good if you like wildlife on the walls. I think they went a little overboard on that but it was good.
