Under new administration. Now call Mami's Ice Cream & Cafe. You have to stop by, they have a little bit of everything. Ice Cream, Smoothies, Crepes, Piña Coladas, Sandwiches, Fried Pies and Desserts. So much now to chose from.....

Glad to see new owners here. Now my wife and I can try it again. How funny and ironic is that? An angry, miserable couple owning an ice cream shop. The few good reviews must be written by relatives, or maybe even themselves. I hope this guy found a miserable job to match his personality!

Hi every one, wow, from what i've read about the previous owners, i'm sure glad my first visit was this year. I'm diabetic and the sugar free double chocolate was so good I almost doubted it was sugar free. The selection of ice cream was great and delicious. Just ask my husband (a connoisseur). We happened to notice the front case had steeler items and being from pittsburgh, we struck up a conversation with the new owners. I love meeting nice people, it restores my faith in humanity. Then to my surprise the drummer and founder of the guess who came in for ice cream with his beautiful wife. I grew up with the guess who and was so honored when he shook my hand and spoke with me. Hey the band is touring if any one is interested. So if you want ice cream while in myrtle not only will you get yummy for your money, you might get to meet one of your idols. If not no more ice cream nazi only really nice people..

What a relief! The new owners are very friendly and the ice cream is tasty. They have a large selection of flavors and Dan gave me a free sample when I couldn't decide which one to get. The prices are reasonable for the beach and the place is clean. I've been there several times and the service has always been great. The only thing that is missing is to lose the name that reminds people of the "ice cream nazi". I think they should have a box where people can submit names. It would be fun. I wish them well.

Don and Beverly were warm and welcoming. They were inquisitive as to where we were from and very friendly. Turned out we were close Northern neighbors at one point. Gave free samples when we were unsure of what we wanted to try and we will definately stop by again. Great place to take your kids. It is nice that you can sit inside or out. GO STEELERS!!

We stay in Little River every year and stopped for ice cream one night. The store is very cute and the owners Dan and Beverly were delightful. They made a fuss over my children and the ice cream was reasonable and excellent. It is a great change from the crowds in Myrtle. We were delighted to see their Steeler case as we walked in, must send them some Penguin things! Great to see hometown people doing well. We'll be back next year and will send family and friends your way!

I go down with my family to Myrtle every year and remember the horror that was "the ice cream Nazi". Not that we knew him as that but I remember the attitude. Luckily the new owner Dan is a fantastic guy. Great service, great ice cream and from Pittsburgh, what more could you ask for? Go Pens!

YES!!!!!! The "ice cream Nazi" is gone!!!!! The new owner is a very nice, friendly man - Dan. A group of 6 of us visited O'Henry's tonight for some ice cream after dinner. To our delight, we were greeted with a smile and very friendly conversation with the new owner. We actually sat in the rockers and chairs and enjoyed our ice cream while talking with Dan - just like being at home. That would never have happened with the "ice cream Nazi." Go and support Dan in his new venture!

Every year our family gathers in N Myrtle Beach for a family reunion. We always go to "the grumpy old man's" ice cream shop. It's ALWAYS a topic of conversation after we leave with what happens. Here's one of our favorite stories - one visit my neice ordered an ice cream cone and asked for sprinkles. The "grumpy old man's" wife told her in a very nasty way that she could NOT have sprinkles because they will just fall off. So...why do they have them there for the kids to look at then???? I for one am THRILLED that he is gone! We're looking forward to a new place to go!

Yes you are correct it is under new ownership. In fact my girlfriends brother bought it. He moved to SC from PA and he decided to buy this place. His name is Dan tell him John sent you. He is a great guy. Nothing like the idiot described in other reviews. Plus we are Steeler fans unlike the last owner who was a Browns fan. I think that may explain his foul attitude. Anyway Dan is cool as heck and I hope he does great at this new venture of his. Take care everyone.

My family has been enjoying O'Henrys since my 6 yr. old was in her Mothers belly. We've since added another little one and they both LOVE the "Ice Cream Man". Tom goes out of his way to be nice and as accomodating as he can. The portions are always generous and my family enjoys the down home feel of the place. We have never been treated badly and perhaps the folks who have put negative comments on this page should note that this is an Ice Cream parlor, not a fine dining place. Save this place for the locals and take your 6 bucks to Wal-Mart and buy some sherbert.

My wife and I started to go to this place when our 1st baby was still in her belly. 7 yrs (and another little one) and we still love this place. My oldest walks in like she owns the joint, and the "ice cream man" is very accomodating. I hope the tourists who read the rest of the reviews about the best ice cream on the north end enjoy their corporate Baskins and Robbins. Leave this place to the locals or folks who don't walk into a place like the 6 bucks that they may be spending entitles them to a fine dining experiance. Jeff, Vicky, Gabrielle and Sophia

We just moved to Little River and thought about going out for a treat at a cute little icecream place up the road. Not so cute I saw they were Ohio State Buckeye fans so i asked he only mumbled, then i asked to sample taste a icecream yogart was told not aloud, ,My bf asked for a chocolate milkshake was told out of chocolate pick something else . Then I decided to have a coffee ice cream cone with sprinkles AGAIN not aloud to have sprinkles the guy/owner was very very rude and unprofessional we went up the street and got icecream and was told there they also have recieved very rude service from this place. DON NOT GO !! BAD SERVICE WE JUST WALK OUT WITH NOTHING...also was threaten by the owner he was calling the police since we were walking out without paying nor recieving any items..

The quality of the food was o.k. but it definitly was not worth it. First, the prices, i think it would have been better if I had made it myself, it says they have great ice cream but all its only Hershey. Also, and this is the big one, the man behind the counter was so rude!!!! All he did the whole time we were there is bark (not litterally) at my children and I every time we spoke to him!

I just found this site. Last summer we stopped in here for lunch, which was just ice cream. The only reason we stopped was we are from Ohio. It was the lady behind the counter. She apparently is just like the old man. We tried to start up a conversation about Ohio, since they had all that Ohio stuff in there. She would not even talk to us. She looked at my kids like they were evil. The only reason they got excellent in the last two categories was there was no one else in there. When we left I said to my mom I wonder why she even has a restaurant she acted like she'd rather be anywhere but there. We won't be going back there.

Beautiful setting and large portions of excellent ice cream! Service is quick and they have OVER 30 flavors. We've been coming for years and will go no where else...even when it is cold outside. The reviews you listed are, in one of their words, nasty and very serving. Calling names borders on libel, in my opinion. If you can't say something good - why respond at all. But that is old fashioned. Everybody wants to sound off even though they have negative to say. As for me and my family, this is the ice cream place on the beach - bar none!

I have lived in the Myrtle Beach area for 6 years now and everytime we have someone come visit us (which is quite often) they want ice cream. It has actually become a joke to take them to this "ice cream Nazi" just to see how nasty he can be. And funny enough, he always comes through for us. The service is so poor!!! He is a nasty man and should really move back to Ohio! So now that our fun is over, we go up the road a bit on 17N towards Wilmington. There is a great place on the left that sells the same Hershey's Ice Cream and the service is MUCH BETTER!

I was really relieved to see the other reviews on this awful, awful place. My husband likes the ice cream, is oblivious to the incredible rudeness and arrogance of these shopkeepers, and we live in Little River so I have gone there more times than I would ever like (once was too much for me). After tonight's experience, I have vowed NEVER AGAIN! The ice cream is tasteless and overly sweet. I asked for a hot fudge sundae and it was the worst (and unrecognizable) I've ever had. McDonald's hot fudge sundae would have been a major improvement. Don't even get me started on the incredibly ridiculous price of this terrible ice cream. Worst ice cream, service, and price I've ever experienced in 57 years and living in 7 other states other than SC. Bad for first impressions of visitors to this state. Shame!

Have you ever seen the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld? Well, come to O' Henry's ice cream and you can live it. The owner will insult you so much you would think you are at Dick's Last Resort, except that the servers at Dick's are joking and this crazy guy is not, he really means to hurt your feelings. My wife had to leave the store, and when I came out to check on her, she was in tears. The ice cream was good, but it is not worth having to talk to this guy and have an emotional breakdown for.

The icecream is the best. The service is the worst. Why doesn't the man behind the counter understand that even customers who love his icecream will stop spending money there if he continues to be mean and rude???

I will never enter this place of business again! The man that works there was very rude and really insulted me & my family. When we moved back to SC from Florida, I guess I got spoiled being able to use the debit card where ever we go. After we placed our order, we realized that debit was not accepted. I sent my husband to an ATM to get cash as I held icecream cones and a 2 yr old in my arms. AS the icecream began dripping down my arms I politely asked him for a cup. He said that "you asked for cones, not cups!" I said back to him...that was before I realized I'd be standing here with them for 5 minutes! I will gladly pay you for the cups. He then stated that "Not everone accepts debit cards" Well at this point it was pretty obvious that he was having a bad day or was just plain hateful! He was so arrogant and rude, that I swore I'd never go back. (and I haven't) But I did find a great creamery in Calabash I highly recommend.

We don't eat inside O'Henry's, so we can't really rate the atmosphere, time to be seated, and noise level. We order the homemade ice cream to go, and IT IS THE BEST WE'VE *****EVER**** had... absolutely the best there is. And we're ice cream eating people.. so believe me, if you haven't tried O-Henry's icecream, you need to get your butt to there and get some!!!!
