Waited over an hour for our food. It never came. Some locals sitting around us were served a long time before we decided to leave. Manager said he was two cooks down. I understand his position but that's not our problem. And clearly some customers were able to get their order. Asked for check for appetizers and drinks and had to wait 15 minutes for that. It should have been gratis. We talked with three sets coming in and warned them of the wait. They decided to leave. Will continue to spread the news.

What's the problem here. I've been here dozens of times over the last 7 years and this was one of my favorites. Yesterday, brunch was horrible. The waiter was barely attentive and that was the good part. The food was poorly cooked. The English muffins were way over done. My eggs were barely cooked. I'd have not written but this was the second poor meal I've had in a row. On Mother's Day they were overwhelmed. I assumed they just couldn't handle the rush. Well, maybe I was wrong. They may be trying to live off their reputation. Now, that I truly hope I'm wrong about that. Maybe I'll give them 1 more shot. But, I'm not sure.

This was our first time visiting Salt Water Creek Café. The food was only okay and the service was too rushed. Our waiter was abrupt and always seemed in a hurry even though the place was almost empty. He first took my salad away before I was even finished....he never even asked if I was done, and then he almost took the rest of my entrée away before I stopped him and asked for to go box. I was really not impressed by this place and I don't think I'll be returning.

I was unsure how many of the good reviews I read about this restaurant could be true, however wanting to find a new place close to where we stay during our annual vacation to garden city we decided to try it anyway. Of the three meals we ordered along with an appetizer of pizza we found that all was delicious and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area. Our server was timely and funny and although we waited a short time for initial service to be seated the host made it up by being funny and truly sorry. We will visit again next year.

"It was love at first sight"...my first reaction to this delightful cafe! The wait staff couldn't be more attentive...right from the start...even the owner came to our table, introduced himself, and engaged us in conversation. The food was attractive in its presentation...and the taste, well, we were both members of the Clean Plate Club! As the Blue Plate Special was lobster, I indulged!! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the Grouper Francaise. And, the Ana Banana Pudding we shared topped off a terrific evening of dining out for us. We'll be back!!

I love this restaurant. Every time we are headed for Myrtle Beach we stop here it is my most favored restaurant. I always get the shrimp pasta it is the best I have ever had. And there sweet tea I really think is better than anyone else has made it. My husband likes the meatloaf Sandwich and the Mac & Cheese. The salads are really fresh and tasty too. It is a rather cute restaurant with seating inside and out lots of parking in the front and back and they have take out too if you want. I would definitely make this a place to stop at if you are in the area it is well worth it they have many things to choose from not just seafood.

LOVE this place. Will be meeting 3 friends for lunch on Friday, and can't wait. They all agreed, "let's go to Salt Creek", "one of our favorit places"! Weather permitting - we'll be outside on the patio. Even on hot days, those ceiling fans in the porch area do a great job.

My family and I have been coming to MBR for quite a few years. I tried the Salt Creek only because of the great reviews I read. I can only say that they are not misleading. The food was terriffic. The staff was outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. I will recommend the Salt Creek to all our friends who come down to MB because of the great experience. Don't forget to try the she crab soup, it is everything that we read it would be.

My favorite restaraunt right now. Oyster shooters are great (but a bit expensive), fish tacos are a favorite, awesome mac and cheese, even a great burger. I agree with a previous review... maybe too many choices?

I've been here a dozen times, and have had exceptional service every time.

First time dining at Salt Creek Cafe. Lovely setting, friendly staff, good service - The calamari was excellent, but was disappointed that the pizza dough was not from scratch, so all of the fresh toppings were sort of wasted on the pre-made/formed supermarket style crust (also had a very heavy taste of pepper). A tomato/basil/mozarella pasta was in much need of some good tasting olive oil - very bland, again, the fresh ingredients were not complimented. My companion was very satisfied with their meal. Perhaps there is TOO MUCH variety on the menu, instead of going with offerings that they are fantastic with?. I will definitely go back to try this restaurant again.

The food and service at Salt Creek is exquisite. The menu has variety, but the variety does not compromise quality. The rib eye was perfectly seasoned and cooked, the Cuban dish had a cilantro sauce that was heavenly. The she crab soup was a first for this buckeye, and it rivals the best chowder I’ve ever had in Boston. The salads were fresh and the bread was warm. We will be going back to try more items from the menu. A dining pleasure you must experience.

We asked the front desk at our resort to point us to a local resturant that the locals go to. This was it. Close by and the food was excellent. Try the She Crab Soup, wish I had asked for the bowl instead of a cup. We sat outside. It was a little noisy with the road traffic but we got used to it. Service was good but nothing special. The oysters with fried green tomatoes were perfect and my fried oysters were the same. The prices were also very reasonable.

We tried this restaurant upon advice of my hairdresser and were not disappointed. The atmosphere was charming and the waiter attentive and very friendly. The quality of the food esp. the honey mustard chicken was excellent. The she crab soup was the best I have ever had and a "must" to try. We are looking forward to going back for the very affordable "early bird specials" from 3-6. Also we want to go on a Fri or Sat eve and listen to the "live" entertainment whom we have been told is an excellent guitarist and diversified singer. The fireplace was an added plus and our overall experience was GREAT.

This is such a hidden treasure located on the Murrells Inlet by-pass. From the moment we walked in the décor and ambiance spoke to us. The brick floor and the lit fireplace made us feel right at home. I ordered the Seafood Platter and my wife ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich. We loved them. We have been back numerous times and the food has always been top of the line, the staff and owner friendly and we will absolutely go back. What a great dinning experience - we love it!

My husband and I have been here twice and I just took my Mom & Dad, who were visiting from Maryland. I do believe this is my favorite seafood restaurant in Myrtle Beach. Prices are right, food is cooked properly, from the seafood to the steak. Great Happy hour too. On Friday's there is a one man show, plays guitar and sings and he is very good. This place is delightful and I truly hope they succeed.

Salt Creek is one of our favorite regular choices. It is open everyday for lunch and dinner so there is never a question of their hours as is the case with some restaurants. We often like to eat a late lunch after golfing and Salt Creek has early bird drink and meal specials hich fit our schedule and budget. At least one of the owners is always present and they always ask about the meal and service, They are so accomodating to give us whatever we need, extra gravy, a taste of this, a sample of that. The atmosphere is comfortable, casual and friendly. Try the steak, she crab soup, oyster shooters.

This restaurant location has been numerous restaurants over the past 25 years and we would like to see this one succeed. We have had two bad experiences there. We had not eaten and stopped there one night after a meeting. They really just wanted us gone. We didn’t want much so we split the Turkey Dinner but they refused to split it in the kitchen. Any restaurant in Murrells Inlet or Charleston where we eat never has refused to split a meal. We don’t care if they charge a split charge. They brought our salad out and immediately brought the entrée. We felt rushed and it was not a pleasant experience.

The second occasion was with friends who wanted to go there. Again, we barely took a bite of our salad when the entrées came out. Three of us had the Salt Creek Chicken that was very mediocre. There are too many good places to eat to bother going back.

We are now locals and this is our favorite place. The owners are always on site and make sure everything is going great. The food is fantastic, I love the fish tacos, salads, appetizers, cheese pizza...well everything to be honest. They have five different cocktails that are only THREE $$$ all day long! I highly recommend the bloody mary. And the she crab soup is some of the best I have ever tasted!!!! The atmosphere is cozy and attractive and most times there is some live music.

This has become our favorite restaurant. My wife and I are "seniors" and are usually looking for light fare and bargain prices. Salt creek has an early bird menu that is outstanding. With happy hour prices on drinks and a selection of entrees approximately 30% below standard menu prices but without reducing size of entree, it is "the" bargain. The quality of the food is great with a Thai chili sauce for the calamari or horseradish sauce for the zuccchini/portabello mushroom appetizers. We often share an appetizer and a pizza (the BBQ chicken pizza is special) and bring home tomorrows lunch in one of their unique take out boxes. I also recommend the mushroom & chicken fettuchini but it leaves no room for their wonderful desserts - watch out for the mud pie!

This by far is one of the best restaurants I have been to while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. The food and service were both excellent!!! The restaurant if very laid back and like the other persons review, my husband and I were personally welcomed by the owner and his wife. I would definately recommend the mushroom and chicken fettucini. There was so much of it that I had leftovers for lunch. It was very very good. Our server highly recommended the cookie slop for dessert and she could not have recommended a better one. It is a definate must when you eat there. I look forward to going back to the restaurant next year!

Being a local, trying .new places can be challenging. The food, service, ambiance and price make this restaurant a true gem! My kids beg to go to Salt Creek all of the time, they love the mac n cheese and the special pink and blue drinks just for the younger crowd. My husband loves the Thanksgiving dinner that is available year round. As for me, I try something different each time we dine there and I have enjoyed everything! Salt Creek provides a relaxing, beautiful, family atmosphere without the noise and commotion found at so many chain restaurants and allows us to eat something other than burgers or pizza as a family.

Our first experience at Salt Creek Cafe was one of delicious food (loved the fried oyster Caesar salad), delightful service, (smiles greeted us from the entrance, to our server, and our personal greeting by Keith, the owner), and the savoring of the ambience of the restaurant. Salt Creek has an aura of comfort and enjoyment, from the seating to the charming, beautiful surf pictures around the dining room and the bar area. Speaking of which, what a knockout area to enjoy happy hour! It truly sparkles. This restaurant is a definite keeper for us.

Dining at Salt Creek Cafe was a great experience! The menu is eclectic - made up of food the owners love to eat at home - I know this because we were personally welcomed by the owner who was the former manager of the Gulf Stream...the food we ordered was great! The She Crab soup was to die for - the salt creek grits - (our first tim trying grits!) really great. We ordered fish tacos to try something new and they were really tasty - We would definately go back to Salt Creek Cafe for the food - the service - great prices and great ambiance..(also to be noted...the surf photography on the walls throughout is really something to see.)
