You now have to give waitress order for steak...if she ever returns to your table after giving your drinks. First visit on Easter, we had a party of 10. Those who ordered steak medium rare received steak burnt on one side and raw on inside..one person told waitress and she took his order for a different steak. It arrived the same way. He was given complimentary meals. We used the free meals tonite and after waitress served our drinks we never saw her again. My husband went up to window to order a steak and was told he had to give order to our waitress and he explained she disappeared??? Meanwhile cook was putting meat back on the grill because it was never picked up and got cold. He talked to his manager and was telling him about our complaint. This was as we were walking out the door!. Ryan's has been a favorite for years but I doubt we will be returning in a very long time.

Good buffet. Although all the food is more or less average, I have to say the amount of choices is phenominal! My family always wants something different and this was the perfect place we ended up with an assortment of: spaghetti, fried chicken, a corndog, mozzerella sticks, fried pickles, salads, tacos and there was still an "of the grill meat bar"plenty of other food options and a dessert station filled with cookies, cakes, pies, brownies, cobblers, and a soft served ice cream bar with yummy toppings. On the downside it was about $11 a person and the decor was very old and sad.

I usually eat at the Surfside Ryans once or twice a month. The last few times there I have been very disappointed and today I asked for my money back and left. I arrived around 2:30 and while they were a little busy, it was not the rush you get at lunch time. There were an abundant amount of empty tables, but none were clean. On one side there were 4 booths that needed busing. I walked around and there was not one clean table. I asked a waitress if there were any available, but she just said "no, I'll get to them later". I asked to speak to a manager and young man came out and offered to get one clean for me, but after walking all around the room and seeing it in such a nasty mess, I did not want to eat there. Sorry Ryans you lost a customer today.

RE; Ryan's Surfside. at 544 and 17 bypass. The have better soft ice cream than the other nearby Ryan., and the ent ance is cleaner or more appealing . I think they try hard to keep you coming back. We go an avg of 2 times a week. Wish they would serve sauer kraut and sausage more often, it is excellent! So many items and good pizza., .

We used to eat here several times a week, because I knew I could count on them serving a simple broiled fish. When they cut down the salmon to two days a week, we started going two days a week. Even though they state they will serve salmon Friday night and Sunday, they more often do not have it. Instead they try to make the cheap tilapia "expensive" by adding cheese and bread crumbs. It is awful! Go back to the salmon - even if it is only on Sundays. We'll see you then. Until then, no way...

Quality of the buffet style food is much better than the over expensive "Calabash" style buffets in the area. The value, service and quality are very good. The buffet is kept fresh and clean unlike some places. Can't beat it for the price.

We were very disappointed when we went to Ryans we are sr. Citizens and when we went in yesterday to purchase our lunch I asked for water, I would get my hot tea later during the meal. When I asked for hot tea the girl said she couldn't give it to me because I ordered water! I didn't realize that you consider water a drink. After I spoke with a manager he said the corp. Was not giving out coffee or tea unless when you ordered it when you came in. Well there was no mention of it and who would have thought I couldn't get a cup of hot tea. How cheap can you be??? also the girl never came back to ask if I wanted a refill on my drink water! we always enjoy our meal at ryan's but will think twice before coming back. There should be a sign when you pay letting you know there is no more coffee/tea when you order unless you order it at that time,. Harriette bandremer .

Anytime we travel south we check to see if we will cross paths with a Ryans! When we come to Myrtle Beach it is our tradition to make it our first nights dinner... after driving 12 hours with a family age ranges from 6 years old to 90 years old - it's wonderful that everyone can get what they want. Several of us are vegetarian and love that there is a huge salad bar - TONS of veggies - sweet and white potatos - great fruit - pizza - LOTS of choices. And unlike many places in the south - there isn't ham or a hamhock in every vegetable! The warm rolls with honey butter are to die for - as are the wide assortment of desserts available (the kids LOVE being able to fix a sunday!). We feel like for all you can eat - a family friendly casual atmosphere - a wait staff that in our experiance in at least 5 states is always helpful, fun loving, accomdoating and efficient - and convienent locations - the price is more then fair. We leave in a few days for our summer vacation at Ocean Lakes - and as soon as we can unload our gear - will be heading directly to Ryans for dinner.... Can't Wait!

Enjoyed eating at the Country Buffet in New Jersey and found that Ryans in Surfside Beach is just as good. Being a so called locals now we really enjoy eating here a couple of times a month. Also enjoyed the breakfast buffet and Frenchie the omelet maker.Kudos to the entire staff for making our visits enjoyable.

We went to the Surfside Ryan's for the "shrimp night" and found out that the three types advertised (was right on our table sign) were not available--only one selection. I complained to the manager and asked for our money back and he smoozed me into staying by cooking a plate of sauteed buttered shrimp for us. I still felt that this was not satisfactory and spoke to the area supervisor a few days later and he was very apologetic and offered to send us a couple of coupons for free buffets. Needless to say they never showed (this was 18 months ago). Needless to say, we haven't and won't be back. This chain also owns Country Buffet so beware

While on vacation in MB from Wa. state we ate at Ryan`s. We did not purchase a senior card as we would not be eating there again and there are no Ryan`s where we live. We were asked about a bevarage, Which I discovered was EXTRA. I said no and was charged anyway for cofee.. We have eaten at many buffets but were never charged for the beverage!!!!! I find this unbelievable!!!At $9.99 for sunday buffet, I feel that the beverage should be included

As a group, we tend to avoid buffet style restaurants. Ryan's is an exception for sure! The unlimited steak is better than most restaurants we've been to. The grill cook will try to find the right piece of meat to make you happy! The buffet offerings are plentiful, fresh, visually appealing, and there is enough food on the buffet tables to feed a small country! Buffet tables are accessable from both sides, servers are fast to remove used dishes from your table when you get up to fill another plate, and the tables are arranged as to allow plenty of space to walk to and from the buffet area without disturbing others who are eating. They even have a dessert bar that, IF you still have room after raiding the buffet tables, will fill any desire for after dinner sweets! Soft serve ice cream, cakes, pies, fruit, toppings, cookies, etc, etc, etc! The eating areas are always clean with unlittered floors. More attention could be paid on the restrooms as they are often cluttered with debris on the floors as well as the sinks being somewhat less than clean, but this is somewhat understandable considering the multitude of people using the restrooms all day. However, more attention should be focused on this area. But, assuming you went to Ryan's to EAT a good and plentiful meal and not simply to use the restrooms, you WILL leave full, content, happy, and looking forward to your return visit! We always do.....!
