I was vacationing with my wife, brother and sister in law. We decided that we wanted Italian, but were not sure where to go. Luckily we came across Ramando's while driving down Kings Highway. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. I particularly enjoyed the veal parmigan.

I'm from Bridgeport, WV where we have excellent Italian food originating from the Calabria region of Italy. I was skeptical trying Ramandos. When we arrived I asked for a sample of their meat sauce, a little sweet but very tasty. We ordered manicotti it was excellent. The garlic bread was a treat. I would recommend Ramandos for everyone traveling down from North Central WV. It is a small locally owned place give it a try.

When we come to myrtle beach we head for this restaurant. Not only does it have a very charming interior, from the minute you walk in they make you feel at home. We have taken a number of our friends there and every one of them raved about the food and the presentation of the food., very few restaurants offer all three criteria's for a nice dinner out, great atmosphere, great food and a warm welcome feeling .. You leave with a great feeling...

Walked in to the restaurant... one family in front of us, two more came in behind us and we all waited in line.... once the family in front of us was sat the hostess came back, looks in the line BEHIND my family and takes th family behind us and tells the fam AFTER them that she will be back (I'm black). The racist disrespect was so blatant the white gentleman behind me was appalled! Horrible..

We just ate here a couple nights ago. It was terrible. The prices are insane and not worth the money. We will never eat here again. The forced tip from the party of 6 people was stupid. We had 11 people, we were two families going on vacation together. The total price was around $200. Don't waste your money or time on this place !!!!

O.M.G. !!! I have been going to Myrtle Beach for the past 25 + years and as usual, we are creatures of habit as we usually go to our regular watering hole and restaurent. This time by accident, we happened on to Ramando's and my bride of 42 years and I fell in love with this place. The food and service were outstanding and I feel we got an outstanding value for our money... Being in food and customer service for the past 45 years, I was very plesently suprised. I'll be back in November and this will be on my bucket list ! Great place to eat and unwind !

Our first visit to Myrtle Beach and my wife and children are vegetarians. We drove up and down the Kings Hwy. looking for something that would appeal to all of us. We planned on eating out only once in our four-day trip so the choice was important. Finally, after a half hour of stopping and checking out menus, I pulled into Romando's and said, "this is where we are eating, no arguements, everyone out". Junior was our waiter and he was awesome, even had an Italian accent, great personality, wonderful attention and service. I had the fettucini with crab/shrimp and it was delicious. The wife and kids had the eggplant parmesean which was amazing. We were expecting the prices to be outrageous but they were very reasonable. Family of four, two adult drinks, children drinks, appetizer and entrees including 20%+ tip was about $100. We will absolutely make this our dinner destination every time we visit. Thank you.

Liked the atmosphere, and the food was great. We had the special pizza, and another had lasagna. 100% Italian. Prices however, not so great. Soft drinks are around $2, you only get one refill, and the glasses aren't that generous. If you want to share, it's another $3.50 added to the bill. The service was not great, considering there were three other parties in the restaurant, all under four people. The waitress left a pitcher of water on the table, and rarely returned to check on us. On top of that, they added the 18% gratuity for our party. Overall, this is a great place if you don't mind spending a little extra money and time. A word to the wise though, I have heard the employees are racist, so if you're black, take that into consideration.

A group of 26 adults and teenagers went into this restaurant on Saturday evening around 8:30pm. We were seated very quickly.....it then took almost 45 minutes to get our drink orders. I spoke to the lady at the front register and told her that I thought our waitress needed some help. I personally think that 26 people is a tad too many for one person to handle at one time. We waited an additional 1 hour to get our food....everyone was so hungry that we were done eating in 15 minutes and it then took another 25-30 minutes to get our checks. When one of the men in our party said something to the waitress about getting our checks....the owner stepped in and started yelling at the waitress. He had been sitting in a booth watching a football game the entire time we were there and NEVER offered to help. We then all proceeded to check out.....one the men had received clams instead of scallops and mentioned that to the owner....he got very biligerent and THREW a $10 bill at the man. This is not the 1st time that I have ever eaten at this restaurant, but it will be the last.

We had a party of 26 about 8pm on a Saturday night. The waitress right awaymentioned she wasnt happy about having to stay late and accomadate us. From the time we walked through the door until leaving was 2 1/2 hours. Management did a poor job of providing her the help she needed to assist us. Additionally, the manager/owner sat eating HIS dinner and watching the football game while WE (the customer) waited forever for our meals. They even brought one customer the wrong item...never apologized. They changed it (took of clams and adding scallops) without actually remaking it. That means the dish still tasted like the clams. When we complained about the issues we were told they were the best resturant in Myrtle Beach and provided the best food and best environment. Rest assured, the owner is arrogant and an idiot to believe such a statement to be true. I have had better meals at cheap Italian resturants and the food was just as good. Bottom line...best of luck if you visit the place and be ready to overpay (way over-priced) for mediocore food.

The reason I feel the service was below average was for several reasons. The waitress was suppose to be off but was asked to stay longer and she did. The problem was there was about 30 of us to serve. It was too much for one person to keep track of and I feel the manager should have intercepted with more help because it was too much for one person to handle. There were minor mess ups which was understandable with the amount of help. We did wait for 2 1/2 hours to receive our food. I am not opposed to tipping but I like to have good service to tip. I think the waitress did the best she could given the situation. I don't think the manager did the right thing. He could have had more help for the waitress and stepped in himself to make sure things ran smoothly.

We have eaten at Ramando's every time we have visited MB, and it always exceeds our expectations. On our last visit we split an oder of lasagna, which was the best I've evr had. There was a $2.00 "share" charge, but it was well worth it. Two ample portions of lasagna reached our table, so we didn't need to split it ourselves, which usually ends in a mess. When I got home, I called to ask about the secret to this dish, and the gentleman who answered the phone told me exactly how to make. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Where do I start. This place was horrible. When we first arrived we were looked up and down before being seated. We ordered pizza which was dry and had too much cheese (frozen pizza is better). In addition, the service is poor. Our waitress never came to the table to check and make sure everything was OK or to even offer to refill our glasses. To top it off, the waitress never brought back my credit card and when I noticed the next morning, I found out that someone at the restuarant used it to make purchases at the grocery store Bi-Lo. I will never go here again nor will I recommend it to anyone..in fact, I am pressing charges on the restuarant!!

My husband and I come to dine here 2-3 times a year for date night. We are locals and love this restaurant because of the atmosphere and for our favorite dish: Chicken Marsala. Other seafood dishes we have tried are very good as well but I've had their lasagna and prefer to let Olive Garden satisfy my craving. The portions you get leave you quite full, and I usually pass my dish over to my 6' 3 husband for him to finish. They serve a salad and garlic bread before your meal arrives, both are very good. The Chicken Marsala comes with two large pieces of chicken along with a side of spaghetti, which we are too full to eat. (Consider requesting they not send it along.) The service is very fine, you will always find a diverse ethnic wait staff any time of the year. We have never had to wait for seating, but the restaurant does keep quite busy all times of the year.

I am from Hartsville SC, and my husband and I visited this restaurant for our aniversary. No one referred us to this restaurant we just stopped because the food smelled good from the road! The waitresses were very very nice. We left a large tip because the food was so good and the waitresses were so helpful and friendly. We have now decided to make it "our special Place" to go for romantic events. I really enjoyed it and recommand it to everyone. The portion sizes were large and the garlic bread was great. It's 100 percent better than Olive Garden!

I had travelled to SC for the first time. I had been told to find this place from the begining, but never made it until the last 2 days of our trip. What a mistake! Great food! Just like back home. Dave, and his staff, were excellent. He even took some time to spend at our table. A gentleman and a hard worker. South Carolina should be proud to have a great establishment such as this. With so many choices of food, don't waste your time or appetite. Go straight to Ramando's for the sure thing in taste and service. Seen you next year! Thanks.

Been going here for years. This year 2008 was really bad. My chicken was very hard to cut. I had only a butter knife. I told them & they offered to cook another chicken. I told them no (didn't want to wait for it). Was charged full price for dinner. Me and my friend will never go back to this place.

I read the reviews on here before I dined at Romandos. I thought everything from service was great and seating. We got there early but the food wasn't what I expected. I Love Italian and it's just not what its cracked up to be. It was ok but not excellent.

We are locals and have been eating here for over 20 years. Recently the food level has been on the decline. After dining there last night for the last time I saw two dishes go back to the kitchen. My Chicken Ramanodo appearance and taste was nothing like it used to be. One waitress sat down at another table to take a guests order. I think I'll wait a while to back to let whatever is happening settle. I see that most of the servers that have been there many many years are gone.

I am from Connecticut but I worked for Dave in the 90's. He was not only a nice and generous boss, but he is one of the hardest workers that I ever met. I can tell you that his place is immaculate and I would have continued to work their but I moved back to Ct. to become an english professor. I am born amd raised on the east coast where the best Italian food is from (NY) and I can tell you that Ramandos is an incredible Italian restaurant. Audra Cort-Riccitelli - Branford, CT

We will be retiring to Myrtle Beach, not soon enough, but everytime we visit which is quite frequently we hit Ramando's. It is the best Italian Restaurant I have ever eaten at. We will be coming down soon and can't wait to eat there. Keep up the good work.

Being 'Locals', we have been dining at Ramandos for more than 12 years. Even though service is usually slow, we would enjoy a glass of wine and a cigarette while patiently waiting for our food....GOOD food. Although the quality of the food has recently begun to decline and the service has worsened (Is the normally diligent owner playing hooky?).

We were still faithful customers UNTIL we were told that the very small smoking section of the restaurant- 6 tables in an isolated corner - has been removed. When we asked why we were told that "smokers take up too much table time".

So, after 12 years of loyal year-round patronage, we're out of there. If our average expenditure of $50.00 per meal twice a month isn't worth an hour of table time, we'll spend it somewhere else.

My fiance and I decided to try Ramandos a few years back, and has decided that this is one of the best Italian restaurants that we have been to.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in Italy.

The smell of fresh herbs when you walk in the door makes your chops water. We are also greatful that the prices are low and we even have to take home boxes.

I rate this place as above excellent, specially because it's a family owned restaurant and there is no other like it. Be sure to give it a try.

We love Ramando's! We've been there every year for the past 5 or 6 years in a row, ever since we discovered it. I've had two birthdays there. There is never a wait and the food is extremely tasty, traditional, and the portions are very generous. The owners are very personable and very friendly. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed.

Great restaurant. I went there for my friend's graduation dinner this past weekend. The food and drinks were very appropriately traditional. The presentation was homestyle and simple - something that I appreciate in Italian food. Prices were moderate and portions generous. Waitstaff was surprisingly friendly. The toasted ravioli appetizer was very good, as was the house Merlot.

Oh - and save room for dessert. Tiramisu was out of this world.

I'm sure that the quality has remained high, so I would recommend Ramando's to anyone. We especially enjoyed the steak and lobster tail specials when available!
