Buffet style wide variety hot tasty foods. Egg foo yong could be more seasoned but putting kikkoman sauce worked for me. Quick service seating at 4pm. When the start the higher price dinner service I thought a minute or so too early. But do Jane senior citizen price. All round happy with meal drive a little further from my hotel but like atmosphere and food

Went for a late lunch at 2:30...seated right away, drink orders taken right away...the food was incredible!! everything was fresh and hot, from the delicious egg rolls to the hunan beef!! Our glasses were never empty! the desserts were great, from the ice cream, coconut cake spice cake, cookies, and pineapple. At a price of 6.95 until 4pm, how can you go wrong??

We enjoy eating here and enjoy the food. Coming from upstate ny it's a little different. We don't have to pay extra for crag legs.,.... The only thing negative would be the kids running around it's terrible also allowing them to get food on their own is not a good idea. I saw one kid take fruit with his hand and I said something to him but it fell on deaf ears. I did say something to the young lady serving us she did say something to the mother but to no avail. I feel that children under 12 should be with a mom or dad when getting their food...no child should be allowed to go to the food bar alone. This is the onlly thing that I am upset about. No control over the children I also think when people come in with kids they should seat them away from people who want to sit eat and enjoy their food..... Don't get me wrong I love kids and have grandkids but there has to be some control over them in a public place.

I normally eat at the New China in North Myrtle Beach but this time I made the mistake of eating at the one in Surfside. I had the crab legs or tried to have the crab legs I should say. It took about 15 minutes for them to replenish them and when they did the amount was so small they were gone in no time. The shells were extremely rubbery and would not break. The meat was stuck inside of the shell and would not come out. Then to top it off, some of the meat was still frozen. I complained to the waitress but it fell on deaf ears. I was there about an hour and was only able to get a refill two times and both times they were horrible. When I checked out the girl said, "it was only one that was frozen you still have to pay".

I live in Myrtle Beach and have eaten here about once a month for lunch during the past 2 years or so. Several years ago we tried it and weren't impressed. Now we think it's the best chinese buffet in Surfside so keep that in mind when you read some of the older reviews as I feel it has improved. It's a buffet restaurant so you get buffet quality food which I think is pretty good. At lunch they are always refilling to keep food fresh and it's always hot. Good selection.

My husband and I love New China! the decor is a little tacky but the chinese food is great and you can't beat the price! I would never eat the "american" food at a chinese place so I can't judge on any of that but the actual chinese food is great! .

My family and I are Chinese buffet professionals, we eat at a Chinese buffet at least once a week and have been all over the country. Without a doubt, this is just an awful Chinese buffet. The worst we have ever been in. The sushi was horrible, the Eel was such a small portion, I had a hard time tasting it. The rolls were terrible with little to no fish, mostly rice. The Chinese items were soggy and cold, which is hard to do because we were there at peak dinner time. For those of you on this forum that rated this place excellent, it really makes me wonder if you have ever had good Chinese? Maybe the local people do not know any better. On top of that, the place is way overpriced, we dropped $50 on a family of five (2 adults, 3 children under 10). My advice is to keep driving! I am not upset that I spent the money, I am upset because I wanted some good Chinese and got let down.

My wife ordered a white zinfandel wine and received some mixed wine (like they didn't have any and decided to mix up a red and white). It was disgusting. That made us very suspicous of the seafood items as we did not know if they were out a long time and not rotated out from lunch time. The items advertised as "Crab" were made with "fake crab pollack". You get what you paid for @10.99 a person. What really aggrivated me was tipping the waitress and she hands all the cash to the guy at the front desk. DON'T Go There!

This review is for the location on 17 in Restaurant Row. My absolute favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. I go for lunch once a week and try to get there when they first open for the day. Everything is fresh and very good. The food is very consistent from day to day. The $5.99 price can't be beat. Where else can you get 3 full plates of food and dessert for under $6? I'm very glad we have a place like this in a town were most everything else is average at best and way overpriced.

I go to the New China on Rt.17 next to Giant Crab only because I like the space in seating! The food in both places is excellent and you can't beat the price! We eat there at lunch and dinner and they always keep the trays full and you can see them replacing the trays with fresh food!

We visit this restaurant evrey time we go to Myrtle Beach and it is by far the best chinese i have had on the beach. The dishes are well prepared and they fill the empty spaces up when they are empty. I would recomend you to try it at least once and im sure you will like it. sometimes we even eat there twice on our vacations.

My dining experience in this restaurant is just fair. The food is too oily and not fresh enough. Sushi, one of the dishes, is in poor condition!! The restaurant is equipped with a Mongolian Bar, which prepares fresh Mongolian BBQ on request with no extra cost. The dinner buffet is less than $10 dollars with a one dollar coupon from the coupon magazine.

We just recommended this restaurant to an out-of-town family looking for crab legs. We love them - they are always juicy & tender -- never overcooked. We have always been told at the door about the extra cost of crab legs.

Most everything on the menu is on a par with most other chinese buffet restaurants.

Wait staff alert and quick to remove used plates when you go to the table for more.

Looking forward to getting off my diet so I can go back soon.

The trip I took showed to have cold food, empty trays, and waitresses who barely spoke English. I would say for the price it's probably to be expected. I did not get the crab legs but that is not told to you when you walk in, so if you take them off the bar be ready to pay.

This is not a bad place to eat chinese food, but just not great. Food was o.k., but nothing to get excited about. The guy at the cash register was less than enthusiastic when taking our money. If your looking for an inexpensive place to eat that's not memorable, here ya' go! We liked China Buffet much better.

Wonderful selection of fresh food to choose from... First time I've seen a person keep track of food trays by using a walkie-talkie to talk with the cook/chef as to what's needed.

Great price for lunch when using senior 20% discount.

Wait staff stays alert to your needs. Large parties no problem.

This is 1 of only 2 places where we have eaten twice. I think the value is fabulous for $9.95 and an extra $5 if you want all-you-can-eat crab legs. Far better value than any of the seafood buffets we have been to.

Food choices are plentiful and fresh and the serving area is very clean.

Food trays are always full and I love the fact that I can get sushi there!

Get an extra $2 off per head if you bring a coupon as well!

Great value for anyone on a budget or with lots of kids to feed.
