Love this place!!!! We go to Joe's every opportunity we get when in MB. The bar area is small, but Jenine is a terrific bar tender and always keeps you entertained. The dining room is a little on the small side but creates an intimate atmosphere. During the cooler evenings, Joey makes sure there is a fire in the fireplace and that is a great area to have a drink while you wait on your table or to have a nice after dinner drink. If the locals hang out there, you know it's a winner!!!!++++++++

Rude hostess. Barely average service. Very crowded, tightly packed, hot(86deg.), uncomfortable, dining room. Paid $24 for my dinner... still would have been disappointed for half of that. Very noisy even without the relentless screaming baby. (why folks would bring a baby to a restaraunt at 9:30 at night is a mystery.)

Unbelievable atmosphere and food! The owner is always working to make his restaurant and your experience one of a kind! Must try this exquisite restaurant! Wonderful sitting area in front of fireplace inside. Also a double sided fireplace outside with seating on each side. Definitely THE BEST restaurant on the beach! (from a local)

We can't believe that we lived in calabash for 8 yrs & this was the 1st time we visited this fine establishment. Certainly it won't be the last. We ordered steak & surf (lobster) & turf. Could not be better! and, the maitre de was keeping us posted on scores of the playoff game (det & tx) every inning! how great is that! there were 8 in our party and the satisfaction was unanimous..

We went last night night for the first time and last. I order the Newyork Strip. My steak was over cooked and didn't taste. The server took it to the manager who send her back to say it was over cooked it was the lighting. That's right the lighting. I had to pay for a steak that I couldn't even eat. The manager never even came to our table. I was looking forward to a really nice dinner and that wasn't what I got. I should have order a hamburger. Never again.

This is a keeper! Hubby and I are unfamiliar with the area and Joe's was suggested by our family members. We were treated as old friends from the hostess to the owner! The atmosphere was relaxing, food was great and the service was over the top. After dinner, our waiter suggested we go sit by the fireplace while waiting for our dessert and coffee. We took our glasses of wine and took his advice, but the attraction was outside where the raccoons were making themselves at home munching on the house bread! Glad we took the family's advice, great time, will return again!

We had a delightful dinner at Joe's Bar & Grill. We almost made the mistake of stopping at Joe's Burgers, just a block away, but I remember that the REAL Joe's didn't look like a burger joint. Their Cajun crab stuffed mushrooms were delightful for an appetizer and the shrimp and grits were amongst the best I've ever eaten. I'll be back in September with a group in tow.

We have been dining with Joey and his crew for ten years and have enjoyed every visit. The food and service is excellent. Unlike some reviewers, we knew we were at Joe's and not at Hamburger Joe's. This is a restaurant, not a cafe, and you get what you pay for. Until something more special comes along, this will continue to be our favorite.

The very best restaurant in North Myrtle Beach!! We always get the triple play! Steak you can cut with a fork, grilled shrimp and THE BEST crab cake I have ever eaten! Those of you complaining about the hamburgers and onion rings are not even at Joe's Bar and Grill you are at Joe's Hamburgers which is very close to this restaurant. Before you start bashing this restaurant you need to make sure you are at the right place! We love eating on the back deck and watch the raccoons while we eat. It is a very NICE restaurant that you can still wear nice shorts to!

We always order the triple play which is steak (that you could cut with your fork), grilled shrimp and the best crab cake you have ever tasted! It is a little pricey but oh so worth every penny! Love, love, love it!! Before you start bad mouthing this restaurant about the onion rings, hamburgers and wings make sure you are at the right restaurant!!

The food and service were outstanding. The name does not reflect this restaurant. It is five star all the way. Including the prices. The food is worth the high price. The service was excellent. It was amazing to watch the busmen clear tables immediately after a group left and reset it in a flash without making any noise. If you turned your head, you'd miss it. Obviously well rehearsed. This restaurant is a must try.

I don't understand - has this place changed hands?? Based on these reviews, we went there on Saturday night of Labor day weekend, expecting a menu that would include real food - fish, steaks, etc. After a 30 min. wait, we sat at in a noisy brightly lit picnic style room, and got a menu with nothing but burgers, fries, onion rings, wings...this is just a cheap dive - and even the limited food selections were nothing special (soggy fries, tasteless onion rings, etc.) Only my husband got 'silverware' in the form of a plastic fork, and the roll of paper towels on the table were the 'napkins'. Again - I'm fine with this if the food is outstanding, and I expect this atmosphere for a really good seafood shack - but there was no seafood on the menu at all. I felt like a idiot for wasting one of our precious vacation evenings here.

I am from PA and go to the Mrytle Beach area each year. It has become not only a favorite of my husband and I's but one that our children love as well! While we are down their we wouldn't miss all that Joe's has to offer, from exceptional hospitality to fine dining cuisine, you can't go wrong. The area has a lot to offer but, Joe's is a MUST for all to see and enjoy. Each person has something to give to each that enters the doors.

If you go there be prepared to get lots of second hand smoke with your meal - they have a bar area with a sofa & table with ashtrays right next to the dining area and we were unlucky enough to have a cigar smoker puffing away for the entire lenght of our meal. We had dinner there. Got the Chicken Oscar, it was ok, but bland. Good veggies, bread & good soups. But for us too much smoke is a deal breaker...

Joes is Awesome, Great food, Great service. Off the beaten path, with out compromise. Its a must stop. The other reviews on this page are a bit misleading, because there is a Hamburger Joes around the corner, so the idiots who bragged about Chicken wings and the brilliant review about bad service couldnt get a seat, check out the resturaunts correct name before writing the review. Joes Bar and Grill does not even offer chicken wings. Im sure you complain about the gratuity on your check too.

My husband and I go to Joe's every time we visit Myrtle. We love the food, service, and atmosphere! Every time my husband orders the steak au poivre and hasn't found one anywhere that he likes better. The lobster is the best, pricey but worth it, so buttery and sweet. The bread pudding is an excellent end to the meal. Joe's has a great bar to enjoy while waiting to be seated or make reservations and be seated promptly. We wouldn't leave Myrtle without eating at Joe's.

The service was undoubtable the worst that we had during our 18 years of coming to North Myrtle Beach. Very sad to say I had better food at several of the chain restaurants in the area! The building seemed a bit run down with noticable rot in the exterior wood work. This will be our last visit and certainly will never be recommended.

Joe's Bar and Grill is a must when we go to Myrtle Beach each year and that has been for the past 12 years. The hamburgers are the juciest and tastiest I have eaten anywhere! The chicken wings are undoubtedly the HOTTEST I have eaten but I continue to get them while complaining that my mouth is numb. The ambiance is distinctly Joe's. The beer is the coldest in town and the staff is very polite and I have yet to have a bad experience. I have recommended this place to friends and they all agree this is a must do each time. Give it a try and you will be a believer.

Exceptionally poor service. We asked for non-smoking and were told it was available but we were surrounded by smoke anyway. Brownish, limp lettuce on a comically small salad. The entrées were almost superb, but we need to have a telethon for our waiter. He was "special". It is hard to overcome a waiter who is a total idiot (way beyond annoying) while picking through an inedible salad in a smoky non-smoking section. Sadly, you can walk to this restaurant from our condo and the menu is excellent. We would love to make Joe's "our favorite little place", but there is just too much to overcome. Oh, yeah...its pricy too - Steee Rike Three!
