Lets start off by saying the location is everything. The beautiful scenery and the fresh smell of marshlands. That's a real seafood restraunt to me. The service was impecable. The waitress was there for every need and the time was fast, considering the place was packed. I had the Lobster Pot Pie and it was breath taking good. My only regret was not asking why they dont have one in my town Las Vegas. Thankyou Hot Fish Club for making my visit great. And before I forget if you like to party on the weekend the Hot Fish Club has a Gazebo that is one the best drunk times in my life. ref: 26143 ![]() |

This was one of the best meals we had while in the Grand Strand area...7days. The food was very good and was well worth the money. The fact that a fish house is NOT serving hushpuppies lowered the food rating down from excellent...the bread was good, but I buy the same rolls at Wal-Mart in the frozen section. Also, don't expect more than one per person...seemed odd to me given the wait on the food, but that is what it is. Until the time we were done with our meal I was ready to return for the next three nights! Then we had to wait longer for the check than it took us to order AND eat. I watched and other tables seemed to be taken care of much quicker. It became apparent that our waitress put a whole lot of emphasis on the front end of the service in hope of bigger tips...I expect she is somewhat at a loss. I still left 15%, but usually leave 20-25%. We didn't go back, but only because we wanted to try other places and and areas. My advice...GO TO THE HOT FISH CLUB...YOU WILL LOVE THE FOOD! ref: 25696 ![]() |

Stay Away! Went with a work group of 12 on 9-14-2011 Slow slow service, when food came order was incomplete. Reportedly new ownership was the problem. Few customers in attendance No wonder. Tried to charge us for food never received. No manager appeared when we requested to speak with him/her.
I will never go back. Too many good quality competitors in the area to put up with this. ref: 23981 ![]() |

We stopped in and looked at the menu. Menu states the seafood is local, I asked the waitress and she stated the same and said they buy it all local and fresh from across the street. We ordered a steamer basket with mussels, shrimp, scallops, clams, king crab legs. Well obviously the king crab legs would not be local since they are not native to the area. But everything else in the basket was cooked from frozen. First dead giveaway was the peeled and deviened farm raised shrimp from taiwan. The mussels and clams were also far from fresh local. All of it was farm raised previously frozen bland boring tasteless. This place is not cheap either. Our bill was close to $100 with drinks, what a rip for frozen grocery store quality seafood raised overseas in fish farms. After our meal we decided to take a walk over to the seafood distributor they claimed they get their "local" seafood from. I asked the people behind the counter if the Hot Fish club buys seafood from them and they acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. What a shame also, this is peak shrimping season and this distributor had nice looking local SC shrimp in their case... beautiful shrimp head on. What a shame not to support your local shrimpers as a restaurant in the seafood capitol of SC. But I can say the seafood distributor did have some frozen farm raised shrimp in a bag, peeled and deviened straight from Taiwan! So maybe the only truth is the Hot Fish club does buy from them... just not the good local seafood. They go for the cheap imported stuff instead. Uhhh, disgraceful! ref: 23262 ![]() |

There were 2 people in our party, I ordered the Sword Fish (Blackened), scallops, mixed steamed veggies and salad with water to drink. My friend ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Scampi with pasta, an order of loaded mashed potatoes, with a diet coke. Well the issues began with the service of our food. The salad had wilted lettuce, the blue cheese dressing tasted like watered down mayonnaise with blue cheese crumbles. Our entree's and sides were mixed up, did not receive the scallops with the sword fish, the sword fish was not blackened, the scallops on the scampi were slightly under cooked, the scampi had tomato's which was not explained by the server at the time the order was taken, which she clearly let him know of her dislike for tomato's when she ordered her salad. I took 2 bites of the sword fish, realized it wasn't blackened, they said they would cook a new one for me, brought back the original with seasoning then accused me of eating 1/2 so they refused to cook a new steak. So evidently they are serving half portions and charging full price. The waiter was very argumentative and making wrong accusation before finding out the facts. We had 3 people involved with our service not one knew what was going on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT ref: 23087 ![]() |

The Hot Fish Club was once our favorite dining spot in the Inlet; food quality was consistently high; service was always "spot on" - a terrific value for the dollar. While the atmosphere remains well above average, it just was so unfortunate because the quality of food and service just wasn't there that night. Needless to say I was a bit embarrassed as I bragged so much to the riends and family joining us that evening. I am curious if there are new owners and/or a chnage in the kitchen. We might give it 1 more try.... ref: 18943 ![]() |

Had reservations for two for dinner. Frequent customers. Arrived on time. Front seating area had many open tables. Waited over 15 minutes to be seated while walk-in groups were placed at tables. Finally seated in the small bar area in front after we questioned why the wait. Told the tables in the rear dining area were reserved for parties of 4 or more and although there were vacancies there we could not move. Walked out. Never to return after eating frequently and patronizing them in the "slow" months when we were welcomed since our business helped to pay the light bills. ref: 15425 ![]() |

For all of you who stopped going to the Hot Fish Club because of their lackluster food and so-so service, now is the time to give them a try again! I had read in a local magazine, LowCountry Companion, that they hired a new manager and chef so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived the restaurant was busy so we decided to grab a drink at the bar. Our bartender, Taylor, was so nice and her knowledge of food and wine was above par. She poured my friend a great glass of Pinot Noir and made me the perfect dirty martini. Although a table became available, we decided to eat right at the bar where Taylor made suggestions about the menu. My friend chose an evening special of seared scallops served over sauteed napa cabbage with panceta and it was heaven on a plate. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the napa cabbage was a perfect compliment. I had the shrimp and grits which were also perfect. To top it off, we shared a piece of homemade pumpkin bread pudding topped with a warm caramel sauce that was divine.Chatting away with our bartender/server we came to find out that the new chef, Eric and new manager, Cheryl collaborate daily on the menu and it shows. The Hot Fish Club is once again becoming the place to dine in Murrell's Inlet. Try it....you'll love it!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local realtor, she said to go early for the sunset specials. They had a nice selection but the food itself was ugh. Rolls, hard, my crabcake, although sauteed, was mushy, my sister's flounder had some amaretto-ey kind of sauce on it, my niece got the salmon and she said it was good. But out of a party of ten, only three said they enjoyed their meals. And the Sunset Specials are $12.50 each. Thank goodness we didn't pay full price! My husband and I were introduced to this restaurant by some friends that live in Murrels Inlet. Every time we come down to Myrtle Beach we make it a top priority on our dining list and our visit this evening (12/28/07) was absolutely delectible and our waiter, Shane, was excellent! We have always had a very delicious and well presented seafood dinner (however, there is something for everyone on the dinner menu). We usually arrive before 6 PM so we order from the sunset menu and we always leave full. We have yet to have their dessert because we are too full. We highly recommend this restaurant and have always had excellent service. We did not have reservations this evening but we have been here in the busy summer season and I highly suggest reservations during this time. You can't go wrong sitting out in the screened in dining room (if it is not too hot/humid),so that you can enjoy the view of the inlet/marsh and the beautiful wildlife! If you try this restaurant just once, you will be a repeat customer! ref: 9574 ![]() |

It has an old fashioned charm with southern elegance. The service was friendly and accommodating. I ordered the grilled seafood platter; it was delicious. Restaurant was empty when we came in but you'd have thought they were waiting for the queen of England. Didn't have reservations (again, the restaurant was empty), yet the old lady at the front desk was pretty rude and acted as if we were scum off the street. We were seated by the bar (for the third time, the restaurant was empty) and although the waiter was very nice and efficient, the food was only ok. Probably won't go back - the battleax out front is enough to cure me. There are plenty of other places that will take our money with a smile.
