Is this restaurant shut down? We were on vacation, had a baby-sitter, and looked forward to going to this restaurant to use our gift certificate from restaurants.com, and when we got there at 6:40 on a Wednesday night, there was no one there, and the lights were all off. Very strange!

Used to frequent this place often ... went a few weeks ago to have some of their awesome king crab legs only to find a whole new menu and the crab is gone! :-( We didn't stay, as the new menu wasn't as appetizing as the old ... what a disappointment - the deal on the crab legs was the best in the area!

We're renting here for February & March, 2010. We've been here a few times in the past couple of years and always do a restaurant or 2 at Murrells Inlet. This year we passed Hoof-N-Finz a few times and finally decided to go in. SO happy we did!! Met the owner, BIG Tom and LITTLE Tom .... such friendly people. This is definitely where the locals go! You can't beat the drink prices. ALL day $1 drafts, well-drinks and bottled beer, $2. 1/2 price appetizers from 4-7 pm (you can't beat these prices and you can certainly make a meal out of a few apps). Also, AYCE specials every night. We'll be going back several times before we leave April 1st. A DEFINITE 'MUST-TRY"!!

We have eaten at Hoof-N-Finz many times and have always left full and satisfied! You can't beat the prices for Happy Hour food and beverages or weekday specials! It's a family favorite for us. We've had several birthday get togethers there and have had wonderful service. The AYCE menu is an awesome value. It's 'all you can eat' of what you order plus 2 sides! I recommend Hoof-N-Finz to everyone who appreciates good food, a good bargain, and friendly service.

October 14, 2009. We discovered Hoof N Finz while vacationing in Myrtle Beach. The happy hour is unbeatable. They have $1.00 drafts and 1/2 price appetizers from 4 - 7 Tuesday thru Saturday. The peel and eat shrimp were huge. They were cooked just right. The steamed oysters and chicken wings were also awesome. Kudos to the bartenders who were great. Summer and Ocean thanks for the southern hospitality. We also tried dinner there Saturday night. The dinner comes with a salad and two sides. The filet was cooked just the way I like it (medium rare) and the Prime Rib was great! Will go back again when in Myrtle Beach. What a hidden gem!

The food was not what we expected, had to send entrees back to be warmed up, sat there for a while with empty drinks. Would of had dinner special if informed about them. The bar was loud and smokey. We were seated right away as there was only 1 other table seated when we were seated.

The best thing about the restaurant was the no wait time to be seated. But we found out why. The salads came out frozen, the appetizers were cold and the server did not know what the desserts were and when she found out they had one and it was not good. Needless to say there is a much better restaurant right down the road called drunken jacks. They have a lot better atmosphere and better service available.

Kudos! "Absolutely the best steak on the beach through all the years I've been vacationing there!" Unfortunately, I had dined at almost every restaurant in Murrells Inlet prior to Hoof -N-Finz; most boasting a false sense of both southern charm, and seafood cuisine! In the words of that great politician, or actor, or something....."I'll be back!"

Don't bother to go, there are so many great restaurants in Murrells Inlet where you get Great Food, Atmosphere, and Service. No one was there the night we were there, now we know why. No music or entertainment of any kind, just noise, we waited & waited for the food to be served, the restaurant looks old and need refurbished, the bathrooms were terrible and we didn't feel clean. No one looked after us or came by, we had to keep asking for service......food, just o.k. nothing special, now a days-everyone will appreciate your business so go where they will love you being there and treat you that way!

Draft Beer is 1.00 all types all day. Happy hour 4-7 everyday! with early bird appetizers 50% off. A locals favorite 4 sure.

Having read raving reviews on this restaurant in GS Magazine we decided to try it. Big Mistake! She Crab soup had been sitting in a hot pot so long it was overcooked, lacked fresh taste and quality. Just awful. Ordered Shiskabob of shrimp and scallops - sorry all out of shiskabob, what, no sticks? Waitress was not familiar with menu and could not answer questions w/o going off to ask someone on several questions. Fried oysters - so much breading you could not find the oyster and when you did it was a tough chewy clump. Garlinc Mashed potatos - take a meat mallot and smash a baked potato and sprinkle garlic on it. hmmmmm. What's up GS Magazine? I won't trust your reviews from now on.

My first time in Hoof -n- Finz i was hooked from their steaks to their sushi. This is a fun establishment with great food and good conversation. We now go at least once a week and it just keeps getting better! I can't wait until spring and summer when they open the TIKI bar and start having outdoor entertainment. GREAT JOB!!!

The fabulous chef from 2007 is obviously not there anymore! Sadly, the food was barely palatable. Such a disappointment from the fantastic meal we had last year when the restaraunt was under far better management and a genius chef. We won't go back and unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone! The only positive was a very friendly wait staff.

This place is the best!!!! The food is delicious, the decor is really cool, and the service is great! The early bird specials make it even more affordable, but it certainly isn't unreasonable anyway. We tried it the first time on a whim, as my son didn't want to eat at the place we had originally chosen. Boy, am I ever glad that he chose this night to misbehave! The appetizers are yummy, steak and crab legs are AMAZING, and the homemade desserts are to die for! their specials are really creative and tasty too. I actually keep their menu in my car year round so I don't lose it and can dream of the place on cold winter nights! Do yourself a favor and aeat at Hoof n Finz, you won't be disapointed!!!!!!!

We ate here last year and I'm surprised it's still open! Maybe they were having a bad day, because the other reviews seem to be decent.

Our waitress sat down and had a cigarette with us and told us about dropping out of highschool, having a child at the age of 16 or something.... during our dinner. We were sort of stunned. She went on and on about how the school systems in SC are "so stupid".

Our food was crappy and we swore we'd never return. Go to Texas Roadhouse or something similar if you're in the mood for that atmosphere.

I live about 15 mins from Hoof-N-Finz and thought I would try it after reading the past reviews. I must say that I was not impressed. There are hundreds of resturants to choose from here at the beach. What I am looking for is good food and atmosphere and this place lacked both. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was ok. Not bad but not great. I went in the winter so maybe the place is better in the summer?

After passing this place many times we decided to try it. VERY limited menu. Waiter explained they were trying a "new" menu. I've always wanted to try shrimp and grits. Several minutes after ordering the waiter came back and said they were all out of it. Second choice was the catfish nuggets, which my friend had ordered also. Our husbands went with the all you can eat catfish filets. Not many other options. I had to send back my catfish nuggets to be cooked some more. The guys filets looked much better. Unfortunately a large party celebrating a birthday were also there and the noise was so loud we couldn't hear each other talk...not resturants falt. I would go back if they enlarge their menu, just not much to choose from. Not sure what they were thinking with their "new" menu. Waiter was very nice and prompt. Priced reasonably.

Your are kind of in Biker Country in this section of Murrell's Inlet...not saying that this is such a bad thing but it can have an effect on the noise level. We enjoyed our dinner here this evening, all at reasonable prices. Very good She-Crab soup, generous porion of shrimp and grits (a bit too much on the peppers perhaps, and very good catch of the day which this evening was mahi-mahi.

There are two things that no one can ever seem to be cooke to my satisfaction....a good steak and grits. Well, the steak at Hoof and Finz was literally the best steak I ever at. I couldn't eat it all and ended up taking some home. The next morning I warmed it up for breakfast with some eggs. That steak tasted even better the next day. Now the grits...the shrimp and grits are so good.

I recommend this restaurant highly.

WOW! Is all I can say about Hoof n Finz. Great food and service.I was there during the Spring rally and even if they just opened they were on cue with serving thousands Bikers and locals. Entertainment was out of sight. Of course Chef Michael Braddock is the kicker. The best thing they could have done he adds expierence and love off cooking to every dish. He brings low country food back home. I have been to many restaurants in the MB area same ole same ole, and I have to be honest Hoof N Finz is destin for greatness. No one in the South Strand does it better. So if you want Great food Great Drink and a Great Casual Expierence Its a must do on your list. I will be back often.

All I can say is "Wow!"

I was apprehensive about the place at first - it looked like it was more "bar" than restaraunt. I am sure glad I went in and checked it out.

The food is off the hook! I am addicted to the shrimp & grits and their scallops.

As a local I am hard to please when it comes to seafood - this place is my new favorite!
