Mercifully, this place has closed. It has been taken over by new owners as hillbilly's grill and still. Hopefully, these people will have better management skills. ref: 16082 ![]() |

Went looking for a German restaurant while on a trip to the beach and stumbled upon German John's Cafe. FYI -- This is NOT a German restaurant. "German John" isn't even German -- he's POLISH! This place was T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E! ref: 14957 ![]() |

Hey, I like this place. Good specials, inexpensive. Guess what, it is mainly (wait for it)... a BAR!!! Cheap lunch, cold beer. I like stuffed cabbage, and go here every few weeks for a few. It is exactly what it looks like, a bar like you might find in Pittsburgh, or Cleveland. (or upstate N.Y for that matter). Pierogies too! Just drink yer beer, eat yer haluski, and chill the %$%$# out! ref: 13213 ![]() |

With all of the fine restaurants in the Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach and Little River area, I am astonished that this one is still in business. I will be brief, after golf 4 of us decided to have some refreshments and went to German John's. We had the worst food, waitress and the beer was warm. I am not a snob and have been visiting this area for the last 10 years for 70 days per year, the other couple own a condo in Little River. We were all in agreement, this is just a terrible restaurant and definitely not up to Myrtle standards. We will never go there again, so it's up to you if you wish to gamble. ref: 12554 ![]() |

With all of the fine establishments in this area, this one is a Big disappointment. Food: Ordered Veal (Schnitzel) got pork or the worst veal in history. Service: The waitress asked how our food was, we replied, just awful, she responded with would you like some desert. Very smokey restaurant, poor food. poor service, good beer. Myrtle Beach has some great establishments, this is definitely not one of them, we just paid our $70 and will not return. ref: 10413 ![]() |

My husband and I expected great german food, service, and entertainment. Instead we got a lousy bartender, greasy food, and no entertainment (which was advertised). The atmosphere was just plain boring unless you get a kick out of a bunch of old drunks!!!! ref: 10109 ![]() |

My husband and I recently tried German John's. We are huge fans of German food and live right down the road so we thought what the heck, we'll try it. Big mistake! The food was mediocre and the service was terrible. Our waitress was definitely one of a kind, between not knowing the menu, chomping her gum and using profanity, and not appearing to be too sanitary, we have decided not to return. Unless you are just wanting to hang out at the bar, I wouldn't recommend it. ref: 8960 ![]() |
