After reading the reviews, I was a bit skeptical about dining at Franks but after experiencing the dining experience, I was pleased. The person accepting my reservation was a bit rude. The phone rang several times before someone answered - I was hanging up when I heard the "hello." This person could use some telephone etiquette when accepting reservations or talking about Franks. Reservations are best - by the time we left, the restaurant was full. The service was good, not the best we've had but good. Our wait staff was a bit talkie but did provide some good info about the area. (We're new to Pawleys Island.) The overall quality of the food was excellent! Price was reasonable for the quality. The steak was a bit rubbery, not the best we've had but ok. The environment, ambiance left a bit to be desired. The tables are too close for intimate dining; the noise level overwhelming - it was difficult to hear my dining companion. We dined early but by the time we finished dining, we could hardly hear each other's comments. Would we dine there again - yes, absolutely. We will use Franks as special occasion dining and would go early to avoid the noise level. You'll enjoy this restaurant should you decide to go - make your own decision about price, quality, ambiance and enjoy!

The outside restaurant rocks. This place has the best atmosphere of any non-waterview fine dining establishment in the area. Very romantic. Great pizza. Don't order anything with cheese other than pizza. They'll smother it. The fillet mignon is excellent as well. Nice presentation.

Frank's is always my favorite in Pawleys. I usually sit in the bar, Lance is the bartender and gives the best service and conversation. I love their crabcakes and lambchop tapas. The tuna nachos are to die for(suggested by Lance). If the quail is on the menu(it's not vey often) you must try it...love it!

I can only say that this is the best restaurant in the area by far. People say it is expensive but it is top quality and generous portions. The prime steaks offered could have been cut with a butter knife. It is a great place!

The last review was on the money. I would not have believed it. We have been coming here for years. Currently the worst food I have ever had in myrtle beach. The grouper was fishy. Shrimp was old and uncooked. My wife ordered a pasta chicekn dish with small chunks of unknown chicken parts for 23$. Ordered a glass of wine off of the menu, it was old and bad. Hostess was rude. Talk about resting on your laurels. I would recommend going anywhere else. I will never return, not even if the meal were free..

The Outback was a delightful dinner setting and unique. Service was exceptional and food was very good. First time visitors to the Myrtle Beach area and would recommend this local restuarant to anyone looking for fine dining with great atmosphere.

Had a reservation for 7:30 so we were seated without a problem or any wait time. Food was great, waiter was well mannered and polite. Seating by the kitchen sucks, the reception we got was poor, the lady giving us water and clearing our plates could only say yea when we thanked he. The other waiters hanging around just talking a few feet away from us was bad. Unless you sit on the left when you first come in the restr., you will not be happy in seating. Tables to close, so if you get a pudgy waiter. waitress, or water lady, your arm or back will get knocked. Also watch out for the drunks using bad language.

On September 08 my husband took me hear for a very disappointing dinner. He had talked about it for years. I guess we hit a bad night but we aren't going back. It was mediocre at best. A disappointed local.

Truly if you like good food then you will absolutely love this place. This place really is amazing. Their are always going to be obnoxious, idiotic people that do not enjoy good food, but if you are in the Southeast, and looking for a good place to eat that really is not very expensive for the quality and quantity of food you are receiving then you definitely should consider trying this wonderful place. Once you go you will also be astonished by some reviews that people write.

Avoid this restaurant. The service is terrible and the food is sub-par but they want to charge premium prices. Ever have undercooked fish or burnt steak? If so, you will like Frank's. I've been there twice just to see if the first time was a fluke but nope, it was just as bad the second time. Never again.

Each time we have eaten here it has been fantastic. The wait staff is always so eager to please and friendly. The Atmosphere in the restaurant is so romantic and charming. Very simple. If you have't been here, go. Lamb is the best we have ever had, ( although I liked the previous cherry sauce version better) Service is excllent, and knowledgable. The tables are set with starched linens, and everything is very classy. This is a top drawer place, with top drawer food.

We have been to many restaurants in the area and Franks by far is the best. The attention to details and service is remarkable. Our server was always there but never to much. For our first course we had crab cakes and scallops, both excellant. For our main course we had lamb and veal and again excellant. We are in the area until September and will return to Franks. Great value.

Although we have been to many restaurants in the area, we wanted something special for our 30th anniversary. We asked for advice from many people. We decided on Franks and so glad we did. The service was outstanding and the food was unbelievable. We started with crab cake and scallops, which both were very good. For the main course, we had veal and lamb and again both were excellant. Our waiter was great - always there but never to much. We started with drinks outside at Franks Outback and the bartender was wonderful. Then we went to the inside bar where again the bartender was great. I had made reservations and was not overly happy with.the table they had selected for us for our 30th,although it was a nice area, just to close to other customers. The hostess was more than please for us to choose another table. We will be in the area for the reminder of the summer and will be returning. Even though it is expensive, it is worth the money.

We have a place in Pawleys, and since we discovered Franks two years ago while up for the week, we make a point of going back each time we are in town. Not only is the food delicious, the presentation and portions are excellent. It is also nice having a wine list that compliments to menu. We are on our way back tomorrow night!

We recently visited Franks for a special occasion. We have lived in Murrells Inlet for over a year, and I was looking forward to it. When we arrived, we were greeted by a surly young woman who barely greeted us as she walked us to a table. When we asked if we could move to a different table ( it was early and the place was quiet), she kind of grunted, and walked us to a different table. The server who came by after that was a little more pleasant, but not much. We almost left after ordering drinks, but stayed on to have a few appetizers. The food was very tasty, but for a place that puts itself out there as one of the best in the area the service was awful. We would definitely not return- there are way too many other options where people are friendly and make you feel welcome.

This was one of the best meals I've ever had and my fellow diner agreed! We found refuge from the sweltering July heat inside at one of the few available tables. The crab cakes were like dessert - sweet and melty and absolutely delicious! The veggies were perfect and the bread and rice did not disappoint. The ice cream and derby pie was the perfect cap to a perfect meal. Our waiter was delightful and the wine list is spectacular. I really can't say enough nice things!

I know everyone remembers the phrase, "You get what you pay for.!" Franks is well worth a visit or two or three or four. What can I say, we love Franks Outback. The Crab Cake they serve is so delectable my Fiance orders it as an appetizer and also as a side with his entree. We have been together 8 years and finally decided we would take the plunge. My first thought was an outback wedding and reception. Unfortunately I do not possess that kind of money, although I will still call to inquire about the possibility. Love the atmosphere the food and the service. Save your money even just for a special occasion you won't regret it.

We have been making it a point to visit Frank's while on vacation each and every year since 1987. Our son introduced this fine dining experience to us years back when he was on the waiting staff. Every day there are offerings that are simply succulant. Lynn is a magnificent hostess, and Salter and Wolfee are outstanding owner's. One can choose from two dining experiences--Inside or "Outback" under the stars. You'll find the waiting staff enjoying an evening ending beverage as they at times become your guest for their outstanding service. Bon Apetite.

We have been traveling to Myrtle Beach for 9 years and Frank's is always on our list. Excellent seafood and even a steak if you're so inclined. Enjoy an after dinner cocktail and cigar next to the fireplace in the bar. Must stop venue!

We traveled from the West Coast. We called to make a reservation and we were looking forward to a nice dining experience upon the recommendation of a travel book. Upon arrival for our 6pm reservation we were confused by the "Frank's" & "Frank's Outback", which we were not made aware of when we booked our reservation. We requested inside seating when we made our reservation. We were seated outside and we let them know it was unacceptable and we wanted to be seated inside "Frank's" -- we were told the dining room was booked until 9pm and we could not sit in the dining room. The prices were high and the food was good but not great. The unaccommodating behavior of the staff was a very big disappointment.
