I reside in Murrells Inlet and Flo's is one of my most favorite places to eat. The last visit was the first of May and my server was a lady named Shannon. She never let the beverages get empty and the service was great. Since being here for over five years and eating at other places' I can say the food was great and if it is not hot enough, they have a sauce that will make you sweat!!!! Enjoyable dining

My wife and I have been eating at Flo's when on vacation for the past 10 years, and we would not miss it. Their PoBoy sandwitch is the best we have ever had anywhere, bar none. We have recommended it to all our friends.

I feel sorry for anyone that eats in this place.the food is horrible and way overpriced .i feel for those that work here. I am appalled at the owner for yelling and cursing so loud at her kitchen staff that you could hear her in the bar area. All I can say is my family and I will never step foot into this place again.

Taste was nothing above average and the meal was undercooked. Service was just what was expected nothing more. The atmosphere was as advertised. Fried seafood platter was too high priced for the portion. Most "all you can eat" places around the beach would match or top Flo's meal for value and taste and you would get so much more food. Cole slaw is mushed up like mushy pee's. Not my preference. Went early - no line at all. Noise was not an issue. Had nice seating on the ocean front deck. Nice parking. Not sure if Flo's will get a second take from us.

We go to Flo's at least once while on vacation, which is several times a year. We were in over Thanksgiving week 2012 with our grandkids. They had a wonderful time. Jennifer our waitress was fantastic with the kids. It's March and our grandson (he's 4) is still talking about Flo's. They left with beads and little stuffed toys. Food and service was excellent as always!

We've been coming here for many years (10), ever since the re-model and expansion the overall food and experience has gone down each year. In fact we skipped last year because the promised table for 9 ended being divided into 2 tables AND it just happened again with a confirmed reservation for a single table for 10 ended up a split with the explanation that a party of 30 had been seated instead. This will be our last visit to Flo's, ever.

I lived in new Orleans for a number of years, this place is a disgrace to cajun cuisine. Something told us to turn around and leave, but we decided to give it a try. The waitress had the attitude that we were taking her time. I had the shrimp creole which looked nothing like the picture in the menu. Famous garlic bread? French bread brushed with a butter flavored oil. The shrimp was mediocre Walmart quality. The dish had the shrimp, marinara sauce, and rice for $15. We left disgusted and wishing we ate at McDonald's instead. Do your gut and your wallet a favor and ignore the quick seating time.

Not one item we ordered was made from Fresh seafood. Some of the food was so bad that we sent it back. Even the kids refused to eat their popcorn shrimp! We also ordered gator fritters which was made with some kind of "mystery meat". We all grew up here at the beach and remembered when Flo's was a good place with great food. I am not sure what has happened but all of us that visited there tonight are currently eating leftovers! What a shame.

We go to Myrtle Beach every summer and always go to Murrells Inlet. Everytime we pass Flo's it is packed so last year we decided to stop, big mistake. The drinks and appitizers were good but after that the service and food was awful. My stuffed flounder was so small I asked if this was it, the waitress just laughed. it took 45 minutes for our food to get to us after the appitizers. They told us they had a party of 20 that took up a lot of time , I said that would be like 5 tables of 4 you should be prepaired. We will not be back. Too many good restaurants on the inlet to go back there.

Enjoyed dinner there tonight. Seated quickly, great service and a great host. Crawfish were a little small but its because of the time of the season - but the oysters broiled on the seafood platter were outstanding. Unfortanately my mahi had been frozen. However, after 20 years in restaurant business, that is manly what you get. Overall, things were great. Will be back.

Was so disappointed in this place. The food was cold and soggy. And it was expensive for two people, almost $80. Seated quickly because no one was there. Sitting on the deck was nice with a nice view, however, I was so upset with the quality of my food and how much money that I spent. I left hungry.

We live in Murrells Inlet and have visited many of the restaurants. I figured this one would be good since it was the only one in the area that was growing instead of closing. They had extended it, making it larger. We decided to have lunch there one afternoon off season (a few years ago) so we took and kids and walked there as we live very close by.I was not in the least impressed. The food was very greasy, the slaw was limp, drowned and horrid. The hush puppies were about the only thing that was good. The service was decent.Walking back home was a challenge as my stomach started cramping really bad and I was afraid that I would not get back in time to use the facilities.I will not be returning.

I lived in Murrells Inlet from 1992 until August 2004. Having lived in Georgia 6 years afterwards, I now reside in Southern Mississippi. Living in Murrells Inlet was good!!, laid back and very friendly, I thoroughly enjoyed the area. I miss that, but most of all, I miss Flo's. Wonderful food, carefree attitude & people, plus their unique way of making their customers, old or new...comfortable and satisfied. My personal favorite order was the shrimp and oyster hoagie. During the 12 years or so I visited this establishment, I never heard a cross word. I do so wish I could return, just once to reminisce!

I have eaten at Flo's since I discover it 3 yrs ago. Being a frequesnt visitor to New Orleans, the food is a close match to the Crescent City's. Service can be a bit slow at times but you're on vacation.....what's the rush? Atmospher is wonderful....food is excellent....and the employees are friendly. A trip to the beach would not be complete without at least one visit to Flo's. You MUST try the shrimp balls!! Great place....

We just ate here last night and were very disappointed. Our food took a very long to come out. In fact, our appetizer came out at the same time as our meals. And the waiter never even apologized for it. I ordered the crab legs and the waiter never brought a cracker with it. By the time he brought it, my crab legs were cold! The food was expensive compared to any place we have been in north myrtle beach. It was not worth the money or the ride to get there. We will never return.

We have been going to Myrtle Beach every March for the last 7 years and have never had a bad meal or experience. We took our kids there when they were small to taste the 'gator nuggetts'! They are awesome!!! The dip makes them extra tasty! We usually would eat on the veranda, but when they added the deck around the back, that's where you will find us. Good atmosphere, good service, GREAT food, easy to find location, and moderately priced...the 5 reasons to keep going back! The Hall Family

Great atmosphere with great views. Crab dip was just ok...chips with it were not tortilla chips as described but more of a sweet dessert chip. The Red Beans and Rice with Sausage was lacking any flavor at all. It seemed odd to be a New Orleans style restaurant with very bland food. We will try it out again, but probably order some fried seafood.

My family being local attends flos regulary. We love it! The servers are always so nice and we never had to wait that long to be seated. It has a new orleans feel and music to match. The fried seafood basket it great and you get so much food with it. Enough for two meals. Also the Poboys are amazing! Make sure you try the Flo's green sauce!!! We buy it and take it home! You have the choice to set inside, out on the higher roofed deck or an even lower uncovered deck. You overlook the marsh but remeber if you want to see water check the tide chart. If not you will look at mud but you still see alot of wild life and the waitstaff can tell you about what you are seeing! Its a great place and you really feel at ease.

We have never been there before so we thought we would give it a try, as soon as we walked into the restraunt we were surrounded by what seemed to be something right out of mardi gras party in New Orleans. There was so many friendly people there that we felt right at home, are servers name was Mike and he was really nice and funny. He explained the menu to us in great detail and suggested we get the crab stuffed flounder and wow were glad we did it was some of the best seafood we have ever had. My wife and I will always come back to Flo's place every time we come back and would recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Let's Just say THE BEST PLACE EVER!!! We decided to have dinner there on Sunday around sixish, it was a group of eight of us. We were all greeted at the door by this cute southern gal whith smiles & high fives, the host sat us in the dining area near the JAzz band that was playing, they were great!!! I got up and danced and earned MY MARDI GRAS BEADS :) We started off with the BEST GUMBO I have ever eaten which the server explained was made with a homeade rue (she was very informative about the whole menu!) We chowed down on aligator nuggets & fried pickles all were very yummy! For dinner I had the Bourban Street Bowl which was to die for!!!! It was a dish served with mussels, clams, & shrimp sautee with a wonderful wine, onion and tomato gravy on top rice, with a side of delicious garlic bread which I had to order more of to dip in the sauce!!! Flo's Place has a hundred thumbs up in my book, and I will be back every trip I make, it is fun, friendly, and layed back, I LOVE IT!!!

My boyfriend and I were vacationing in Myrtle beach and decided to go to Murrells Inlet for dinner with his brother and girlfriend. We were incredibly disappointed with our choice. We are from NY and never heard of a hushpuppy, and when we asked our waitress what it was she gave us quite a look and answered pretty rudely. Our waitress had an attitude all night and was extremely unpleasant. The food was nothing to talk about, none of us really enjoyed our meals. The only nice thing about this place was sitting out on the deck, but I would not recommend this place to anybody.

Our first restaurant to dine at on our Memorial Day weekend and unfortunately for us, put my husband out of commission for the rest of the weekend. We figured out it was the crab legs he had here, as I had everything else he had and wasn't deathly sick like he was. A word of caution to anyone who ventures here- be careful of what you order!

Four of us had lunch today. Only 3 employees working, said they didn't expect a large lunch crowd. Memorial Day weekend....duh?? Waiter was also cooking. Gumbo was mostly rice, with little meat. Fried flounder was old tasting. Extremely small cup of cole slaw. Blackened hamburger was good. Only ate 1/2 because it was so big. Fr. fries were plentiful and hot. Waiter replenished our sweet with unsweet tea, I think he was frazzled. He asked if everything was all right. When told about the flounder, he laughed a nervous laugh, but did not offer any compensation or even an apology. Would not go again.

One half hour after we were seated all we had to show for it was a cup of coffee. Noone had taken our food order. We left without ordering. The front desk was very nice and did not charge us for the coffee,

This was during the off season and the place was not crowded, so there was no excuse for this kind of service.

BAD, BAD, BAD!!! We live 1 mile from Flo's and will NEVER go back. We were completely ignored for 15 minutes- while the waitress helped tables around us. No acknowlgement of us at all. WE LEFT! The two Bimbos at the front never said anything. With so many restaurants in the area, how can you not even care about your customers?? We are long time residents and can find good restaurants along the Grand Strand everyday. Good Bye forever Flo's!!

Shrimp, scallops, and oyster basket was great! Seafood done right, and a nice hardy portion. Children's menu was perfect as well, with lot's of the kiddie's favorites. Service, and ambience of the inlet were just what we look for when we are in the area. Went twice during our week in July, and will definitely go again next summer. Left with a bottle of Flo's famous green sauce...just to get us through the year until our next visit.

Went to Murrells Inlet to eat and should have realized when all of the other restaurants were packed with a mile long wait outside their doors and Flo's parking lot was not even half full. Were greeted by a friendly gal and seated outside. Our server Todd was a real ass and acted like he would rather have a lobotomy then deal with us. We were not told specials (as we heard another server tell a nearby table) He was rude the entire time and scolded my husband like a child when he asked to substitue a salad for a vegetable. Food was mediocre at best. Never asked us about desserts. Very poor experience. Next year we will wait in line at Bovine's or Drunken Jack's with everyone else....

Well the five of us (2 adults & 3 chilren) had dinner and no alcohol-total bill $$$. My wife's cod was ok, my chicken tasted like it had been microwaved, our son's chicken and fries were microwaved, the other two's pizza was different. The only thing good was the crab dip but for $$$ it should have been. Service was lousy. It took forever for the check after asking.Family thought I had ordered a dessert. The environment was nice except a lady taking photos and how about music from Louisiana! Like all of the decor. We will not return or recommend.

We waited to be seated for about half an hour, but the hostess was very pleasent, and entertaining. The atmosphere was very entertaining; we waited for our food for a good amount of time, but we hardly noticed because we were taking in the atmosphere. Our waitress was very apologetic about the wait. The food wasn't bad, the fried green tomatoes weren't bad, but were plain, and nothing special. The clam strips were good, and so were the hushpuppies, but the beans, rice and sausage was less than enjoyable. I wouldn't mind returning, but would be sure to be careful about the food selections to make.

With reading other reviews I somehow can't believe we ate at the same place. Have to agree with the review from 6/15/09 we apparently were at Flo's around the same time and both weren't happy with it. The food wasn't good in my opinion. The service was horrible, three peoples orders weren't complete and we mentioned it to two people and they both forgot to bring us the rest of our meal. On top of that, the crab legs even came out cold. I asked they take a meal off of our bill that someone with us couldn't even eat since his burger was smothered with Mayo which he didn't want and they would not do it, they offered to get us a free round of drinks, we agreed at first but then thought that might not be a wise idea! . So we went to the bar to "watch" them make our drinks and they were rattled there also. In my opinion it wasn't even busy??? I overheard a few of the staff arguing about them sitting people too fast and she couldn't keep up.. then another customer was annoyed with how slow they were also. I wanted to tell this young couple waiting to get seated to not waste their time but my cousin told me not to!! I ended up telling her to forget our "free" drinks and I just wanted to get out of there. We're use to being fast paced but by Wed in the South we are use to the slower service which is fine but put that on top of 10 other things that went wrong and that was just the icing on the cake. Would never eat their again.. sorry to say..

My husband and I treat ourselves to this restaurant 2-3 times a year. Prices are high, but we found THE DISH that makes this restaurant one of our favorites because of it: Parmesan Grouper. Once we found this dish, this is our usual every time we go. We also love their hush puppies, finding them the BEST IN THE AREA (inlcuding Myrtle Beach) and the price can't be beat (you can order them as an appetizer, and you get quite alot). We've had a few other entrees but can not rave anything else. Since we are locals, we try to go when tourist season is at a low, therefore we have never had to wait for seating and have always had great service each time there, the wait staff is very competent here.

We've been coming to Flo's on our annnual trip to the beach for about 15 years. In past years, we've eaten there as many as 4-5 times during the week. Like many, we're on a budget and typically go for lunch during the week. Starting this visit, Flo's lunch menu is no more. Paid nearly 70 bucks for non-alcoholic drinks, a couple of sandwiches, a big salad, and a bowl of gumbo. Thumbs down on this new pricing. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. Just can't afford it.

The sandwiches are great, fries, cole slaw etc...i've only tried three of the entrees and didn't like one of them but the other two were ok. I would suggest an appetizer and a sandwich, with a bloody mary of course!.

This was my family's first trip to the Myrtle Beach area so I did a lot of research before we went. After reading the reviews for Flo's Place I knew that it was some place that we wanted to eat at and we were not disappointed. Although the parking lot was full we walked in and were seated immediately. I asked that we be seated outside and we were taken right to our table by the water. I knew that I wanted to try the crab cakes and was surprised to find them offered as an appitizer and as a dinner. I decided to get the crab cake appetizer and my husband choose the "Gotta have it shrimp dip". We shared each and while both were good I loved the crab cakes. I wish that I had gotten the dinner instead of just the appetizer. For my main course I chose the parmesan encrusted cod and it was wonderful too. My husband chose the steak and he was very pleased with it too. Unfortunately we didn't leave any room for dessert. You can't go wrong with dinner at Flo's Place. I would skip the appetizers though and go straight for the crab cake dinner if I was to go back. I am already looking forward to our next trip.

We had been to Flo's before and like what we had ordered, but on our last visit in early July of 2008, we were extremely disappointed. I ordered the scallops along with fish a shrimp and was shocked that such a place with the reputation it had would serve FAKE SCALLOPS! They didn't even taste like scallops and their only similarity was that they were round. I complained to the waiter after waiting through most of our meal to ask that the portion of the meal I would not eat be taken off the check and he returned a few minutes later to say the kitchen was sorry that my food wasn't cooked the way I liked and left me a small plate of fried shrimp. I then asked to see the manager (which I think was just another waiter) and explained I didn't ask for more shrimp and wanted a portion of the bill deducted and that I couldn't believe that they were serving fake scallops. She stated they would not edit the bill and was sorry I didn't like the food. I should have just walked out with out paying, but I didn't. I think Flo's is more worried about their money per head count rather than a satisfied customer. I'll never eat their again.

Loved the fried pickles. Service was good. Just a little flashy inside, but hey, that's what makes it Flo's Place. I will be returning more this summer. Especially if Ryan in the waiter!

A very laid back atmosphere. Great food. Some very good hushpuppies. Inside or outside dining. If you have children I'd suggest outside. They'll like it there. A definite spot to visit.

Cool looking place, but a bit pricey, and the food was just o.k. Steak just o.k. Fish o.k. Shrimp salad was good. Overall nothing spectacular for the money.

Flo's Place is a funky laid-back place. We were looking for just that with outdoor seating. I had the popcorn shrimp that was pretty tasty. It is a fun casual place.

March 2008. This was our first time at Flo's Place. They have a New Orleans Jazz Band every Sunday from 4-7 and they were great! The food was excellent and plentiful My Hubby is not a sea food lover, but ordered the seafood platter, which I also ordered. You can pick and choose 3 items from a list of about 10...everything was very good, shrimp, mahi mahi, flounder, scallops, grouper and the deviled crab was out of this world. Had a great time at Flo's!

Since our first trip to Flo's 10 years ago it had become our custom to eat at Flo's. several times while in the area. Never been disappointed in any of their dishes or their raw oysters on the half shell. The Parmesan encrusted baked grouper is delightful. Another new dish, to me, is flounder topped with fried tomato's in a cheese sauce. I had that yesterday and was beyond pleased. It was nice enough to eat outdoors. Their Po'Boys, fried green maters hit the spot, too. The staff is always courteous and prompt. Casual dining. I'd give them a 10 stars and my mardi gras beads.

This is a fun place to go and has good food everytime I went. It was my grandfather's favorite. Deb does a good job. I miss the hats. I would recommend going and I am a local Inlet girl.

I have eaten at Flo's twice in the last six months, a lunch and a dinner, each time with a party of five so I got to taste a lot of their different entrees. Their service is more than friendly - it's a family atmosphere. I loved all of their food except for their red beans and rice which was served room temperature, the sauce was too tomatoey and overly thick, and the rice was undercooked. We loved their garlic bread and other appetizers. We would definitely eat there again. Also, saw a flying fish in the marsh!!!

We really enjoyed Flo's and eating out on the deck. The sweet tea and Hush puppies were out of this world. Couldn't be better than having a cold beer and a plate of hush puppies with their special butter. MMMMM ! we even took some home for the freezer. Seafood and the chowder were also top knotch.

We have been eating at Flo's for the last 7 years when we vacation in Sept. It has always been delicious and reasonable. You must eat outside though, the breeze coming in off the inlet is wonderful, cold beer, fresh seafood, great service. What more can you want?

I LOVED Flo's Place. The food reminded me of my time spent in New Orleans. The Cajun pickles are fantastic, as well as the blackened burgers. The key lime pie was one of the best I've had. Flo's is not an expensive restaurant, and I wish I had the time to back again before heading home.

Have eaten the 'steam pot' many times, and it is usually great. One problem is it is not consistent. They basically give you what they have. Times you get oysters, times you don't, etc. Rather pricey, but we love the steamed seafood in the tomato sauce, with the bread for dipping.

The best crabcakes--ever!!!! The coldest and freshest oysters on the half shell on the east coast!!!!The served side dishes excellent and definately homemade!!! The food, the service and the atmosphere is great!!! During our six nights in Murrells Inlet we ate at Flo's twice. Both times did not disappoint!!! If you like southern food especially crab, shrimp and oysters, Flo's Place is the place!!!

The seafood dishes were very good. Some of the burgers were over-done. They have outdoor deck dining with a nice view of the inlet. Bottled beers are $3 for domestic. Free mardi gras beeds the day we were there. All in all, a good choice for dinner.
