We had heard from a few different friends that this was a place we should try. We were very pleased with our experience. The menu comprised a variety of well described selections that were difficult to choose from. In addition there were some specials described by our waitress that were not on the menu. Both the appetizers and the main courses that we ordered were excellent. We had made a last minute reservation on a busy night and were assigned probably the least desirable table but it was still OK. The wine list was full of choices at relatively good prices (much more reasonable than some restaurants lately.) The meal items were priced on the high side, but justified by the taste and the presentation. We did not have dessert because the meal was sufficiently filling. Before we left, we walked around to admire the artwork that covers most of the walls and adds to the atmosphere. This is a place we will recommend and return to.

Collectors Cafe provided us with a superb dining experience. The food was excellent and our waitress, Katie, was delightful. Having traveled much of the US and the world, we give this fine restaurant five stars by any standard of measurement and offer up an unqualified recommendation to any visitor to Myrtle Beach.

This is by far one of the best if not the best non-chain restaurant on the Grand Strand. I've eaten here at least 5-6 times and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the food is incredible. We make sure to come here on every trip to Myrtle Beach. We make reservations and are always seated promply. We are in New York and Atlanta frequently and Collector's ranks with the best.

This is by far one of the very best places to eat in Myrtle Beach. We have been dining here for the past 3 years and it just keeps getting better. What is even better is that you can find something for both the seafood lover (The Scallop cakes are to die for) and the steak lover as well. Another personal favorite is the Ahi Tuna. It is simply divine. If you are in the area you cant go wrong with a night at Collectors. PS - call ahead for a reservation- any time we have had reservations we've never waited more than a few minutes to be seated.

What a disappointment after hearing good things about Collectors! Some good things around service and frankly we loved the art collection and even some of the food was good but at these prices the food should shine. One fish dish was dry and overcooked and frankly had that "fishy smell" that says I am past my prime, meals were just warm, portions are on the small side and overall you just got the feeling the kitchen did not have its A-game.

Awful overpriced food, terrible service! Interesting atmosphere like dining in a cluttered gallery. Noisy, tight seating. $30 for one almost all breading crab cake. With all the choices in the Myrtle Beach Area to dine I would pass on dining here.

A wonderful dining treat! We had the scallop cakes (wow, wow, wow!) and the lamb chops. Definitely some unique and delicious flavors! The desserts were great too. The only disappointment was the after-dinner decaf coffee. It seemed incredibly weak, and looked more like weak tea! Service was great! He was so attentive!

Collector's Cafe has been our favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach since they opened 14 years ago. Several reasons include: the menu changes very often. The artwork is incredible and it is like having dinner in a museum. It is THE place to be seen !! Several rooms to dine in makes it feel like going to a different restaurant each time. They have a more formal dining room, a grill area with a flat screen TV, a coffee house / bar area, a comfortable plush sofa room, a totally private "virtually sound proof" room for business discussions, and a gallery room that is great for large groups. You will see not only the latest artwork, and taste incredible food... but it is also the best place to go to see the most current fashions on Friday and Saturday nights.

The attitude of wait staff was unfriendly at best, and apparent as soon as we entered the restaurant and continued throughout the evening. The food and presentation was everything we expected with the exception of the Ceasar salad which was watery and tasteless at best. I asked for some fresh anchovies and was informend they used a paste. I could not immagine a restaurant of this calibaer not having fresh anchovies.

We expected to have a complimentary dessert or at least a coffee in return for the both of us indicating our displeasure.

The dessert and after dinner drinks were first class.

As a result, a less than desireable tip was left due to the unfriendly wait staff and awful ceaser salad. We then had to contend with our waiter (Jumpin Jon) comming out into the parking lot to confront the situation.

Needless to say I do not believe that we will be back.

Go for the art, which is wonderful to behold, and the novelty of having it all around you to enjoy while you eat. The variety and taste of the dishes is above average, but overpriced. I remember the service as top rate, and the wine list is good.

We have dined here for many years as a regular part of our vacation. We have even made the 200 mile trip, just to eat here for special occasions, like someone's birthday. Nothing has changed over the years, except unfortunately for the food. This year, the food was at best, average. We were eight guest and each member of our family were very disappointed. Not even the very professional service can offset this condition. Probably will not make any 200 mile spur of the moment trips to dine there this year, but we will definitely try it again one year from now and hope things have retured to the past level.

Collector's used to be a special treat for my husband and I. We had friends from out of state a couple of weeks ago and took them to Collector's. What a huge dissappointment. This restaurant used to be one of the best but has deteriorated in its total dining experience. The food was mediocre and expensive. I ordered the scallop cakes, which I have ordered many times, and they had an overwhelming scrambled egg taste. The waitress was not helpful when we had questions about the menu. She was so sloppy with her service that she splashed olive oil on my brand new blouse and never even apologized. The level of noise made it difficult to have conversation with friends. We are taking this restaurant off our list. There are too many others in this area who try harder to earn and keep our business! We won't be back.

This was my first and will be my ONLY dining experience at Collectors Cafe. Although the food was wonderful, the service left much to be desired. The waiter never refilled our water glasses and only came to the table when it was time to deliver another course. But the reason we will not be returning to this restaurant is that the waiter actually had the audacity to stop us as we were leaving to tell us that we had only left him a 10% gratuity and that an additional $18 would make it a 15% gratuity. We certainly did not intentionally leave him only 10%, but miscalculated. We were a party of 8 and although the waiter asked us at the beginning of the meal if we would like separate bills (we said yes); he put all on one bill. I have never had a waiter approach me after a meal and have the nerve to tell me I did not leave him a large enough tip. We should have demanded to speak to the manager but we had another engagement. Needless to say, we will never go back
