Went to this restaurant many times over the years and was sad to hear it had closed. Here is the recipe for the crab dip served as you sat down. It was given to me, hand written on the restaurant's card many years ago and I have made it many times to rave reviews. I usually add a little more cheddar cheese than is called for because my family likes it that way. The Captain’s Restaurant Crab Dip 1 cup crab meat 1 cup heavy mayonnaise 1 ¼ cup grated sharp cheddar cheese 1 teasp horseradish 4 tablespoons French Dressing Juice of ½ lemon

I am so sad that this resturant closed down. I had been going there with my family since I was a little girl! I thought it was hilarious that everyone on this page was wanting to know the same question I did. HOW TO MAKE THE CRAB DIP?! I loved the crab dip, shirley temples, and ice cream sundaes! It was a part of my childhood I must say. Looking out the window at the house with fake windows and a kitty cat painted on it. So sad. RIP

I am heartbroken to hear that this restaurant has closed! We always ate there on every trip to the beach (sometimes more than once). The crab dip that was served as soon as you were seated was WONDERFUL, as was the she crab soup!! We loved looking out the windows at the beautiful old oak trees, and the ambience was a welcomed respite from all the noise encountered elsewhere. I am so sad now!!

Simply stated, this is one of the best family owned restaurants in the country. Wether it's the Seafood Platter, Fresh Local Shrimp, She Crab Soup, or Lightly Fried Oysters, Abe and Lois know how to treat their customers and employees. I worked for Abe and Lois in the Mid-80's and saw how family, hard work, and commitment can turn a business into an institution. " A Good Time Was Had By All " Kurt

This restaurant has been closed for a couple of years. My friend's parents owned it. The building is now the Waccamaw Community Foundation.

I worked at this restaurant during my college years... Abe and Lois run a very warm and friendly restaurant... They are very STRICT about the quality of the seafood and the way it is prepared and served. Lots of work goes into this restaurant by these owners and one trip there will evident of this. I really enjoyed the family because they were not your typical restaurant owners, they really care about people.... customers and employees.... Please visit them for a great seafood experience--- I highly rec. the fried oysters or the lump crabmeat entree... OH- the She Crab soup will make you slap your mother!!!!!! Erika M.
