Went for dinner with my family today. Had no reservations but was accommodated for 8 people quickly. Food is excellent and we all enjoyed it. I am Austrian and the food/taste was authentic. We enjoyed it very much.

Simply one of the best Restaurants I've ever had the pleasure to dine at. Service was superb, and there is only one word to describe my meal, i.e. AMBROSIA. I had the Chicken Cordon Bleu: . Simply wonderful. The Apple Struetel was so, so good. It was a perfect end to a great meal. . My friend had the Trout Filet and said it was delightful. Roger Gulfport, MS

We came to Myrtle Beach to celebrate our 44th anniversary. My husband was stationed in Germany while he was in the Army and has always loved the food. Anywhere we go we try to find a good place to get authentic German food. We found a true gem in Cafe Old Vienna. The food is fantastic, service some of the best we have ever gotten and atmosphere intimate and relaxing. We will definitely go back next time we are in Myrtle Beach.

I met the owner, Werner, when he visited my computer store for service on his laptops. I love to try new restaurants and went to The Vienna Cafe that very night. What a charming place. Sure to remind many of similar places in Germany & Austria. Having no experience with Austrian food, I ordered a grouper dish with spetzel(which is hand made every day by Werner, the waitress told me). Everything was excellent, including a nice take on the salad. And it's rare to see the Owner/ Head chef step out of the kitchen to greet & chat with his guests as Werner did. I remember him saying the Cafe has been open for 12 or 15 yrs now, Any restaurant open that long in Myrtle Beach is doing something right. Why don't you stop by & see for yourself? Located on the right side of the plaza behind Hooters at 38th North & Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.

When we visited in Oct. 2012, we looked forward to eating here based on the reviews. MISTAKE ! Very small, sit with your back to the wall and you sit on a plank. This is a lowclass operation. Service was ok, but food was below par off a limited menu. The red cabbage was tasteless and from a can and the spatzel was unrecognizable as to any we'd seen before. We were so taken by surprize that neither one of us can remember what our main dishes were. Even the seating (chairs ) were flinsy. We should have turned and walked away as was our first indication. It resembled a pre-war European tiny bad restaurant. And so it was...

We go to Myrtle Beach every year and just discovered this restaurant this August. It's tucked away in a strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside, and we were wondering if we'd made a mistake, when we walked in and found an intimate, quaint, delightful little restaurant. There was a young man playing classical guitar, taper candles in silver candlesticks, and amazing food! Our teenagers loved it as well. The desserts are to die for. This restaurant is a gem and a true find, and we look forward to going back next year.

Wanted to pick a special place for my friends birthday , and we were pleasantly surprized. The snitsel and osoboco was very, very good.Service was excellent , The size is one of the charms of the place , cozy, old world atmosphere. Everything was so good I had to go to the kitchen and congratulate the chief/owner , who is a charming talented gentleman.

Everything we ate was just wonderful. My husband had the styria plate and I had the weiner schnitzel special. Loved the accent of the ladies that served us. We topped it off with the chocolate kiss dessert. It was heavenly. Wish we were closer. We are 3 hrs. away but its worth the trip. Wish there were others like it in Walterboro or charleston. We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary on Nov. 1st. We met some great people while we were there also. Only about 8-10 tables but loved it.

I wanted my friend to experience a little bit of Europe, what a pleasant surprise! The food was delicious! I loved the way our coffee was served, on a small tray with our water, just like Oma. Great service and the atmosphere was akin to a guesthaus.

My husband and I visited there Saturday night, Feb 7 2009 and we loved it. We called ahead to ask what the special was for the night and were told Roast Pork! We couldn't wait, but unfortunately when we arrived at 7:00, they had already sold out of it. We were told that 30 patrons requested the special and the owner seemed surprised. Our advice is to call ahead for the special, including the saurbraten which is not made all the time. With all that said, we loved the restaurant and the owner is charming and very nice. We own a place in Myrtle Beach and are from NYC. We plan to make this restaurant a regular for us. We do wish they'd add some wonderful streudel dessert to the menu!

Absolutely loved this Cafe! Very small and very quaint but well worth every cent. The food is freshly cooked and delicious. The owners do an excellent job and the service is outstanding. The only thing dissapointing was that they weren't serving Sauerbraten the night we went. Next time we will ask when they are serving it and make reservations for that night. Yes, they absolutely recommend reservations and after going we see why. The place is constantly busy. We went on a Thursday night. Absolutely a must on our next trip to MB.

This place earns all the rave reviews. We are extremely satisfied and it truly serves the BEST schnitzel in all of MB. Yes don't limit yourself to just that. Bratwurst lovers...watch out. You will get hooked to theirs. Ahhh...the potato salad....c'est magnifique! Then finish your meal with their scrumptious desserts or a cup of coffee Vienna. Next stop; Vienna, Austria. Wunderbar!

We discovered this restaurant from the reviews written on this website, and were very pleased with our dinners. My husband and I have traveled to Austria and have enjoyed the Austrian cuisine which was comparable to the good meal we had at Cafe Old Vienna. Don't miss the schnitzel and bratwurst. You may have some difficulty finding the restaurant as it is in the Village Square Shopping Center and cannot easily be seen from Business Route 17.

My high school German class went on a field trip to the restaurant today. I had heard of it and was expecting a good experience. I was rather suprised when I stepped inside...it was like stepping through a doorway into Austria! The walls were adorned with authentic decorations that the owners/operators brought from Europe. The menu was made up of an array of traditional Austrian dishes that the chef (an Austrian himself), the owner, whipped up in a short amount of time. The food was delicious and the server, the owner's wife, was very polite and courteous. The field trip was especially fun because our class was able to practice our German with the server! Overall the experience was great and I would definitely reccommend the restaurant to anyone and everyone!!!

This place is wonderful! We lived in Germany for 5 years and missed the food, even though it is Austrian the food is the same. It is small which can be a disadvantage at times, but we usually time our lunch out so that we don't have to wait. We have always had delicious food there and the service is good also. It is a restaurant you wouldn't think would be in Myrtle Beach and if someone doesn't tell you about you won't find it! A jewel of a find.

"New York Eat Your Heart Out" - The food is unbelievably delicious. Living in Northern New Jersey with access to some of the best restaurants in the world, Cafe Old Vienna ranks as one of them. The worst part is that when you go there with your mouth watering for one of the awesome menu items, they top it with a special that you must have. By the way - if you don't start with the soup you are crazy!

This is one of those places where you feel as if you`ve left the country and were transported to Europe! No kidding. I spent nearly two years in Germany while in the military, sampling the local cuisine everywhere I went. So I feel safe to say that the snitzel, bratwurst, and pork dishes are authentic, generous, and delicious. And the desserts are simply awesome..Lets not forget the wide selection of European beer and wine. You won`t be disappointed, I promise. Tom Turrise, satisfied customer

This is one of those tiny hidden away places that you love to take friends to. I have been going there for many years and still miss Michael, but the new crew is equal to the first owners. It is a lovely reminder of small restaurants in Germany and Austria. The food is very, very good, the desserts are sinful and it is a great place to eat lunch.
