We have been going to the Bistro since it opened and have never had a disappointing meal or experience at lunch or dinner. I like the choice of carrot and celery strips in the bread basket. Our one complaint is the cheese spread served in the basket is too spicy. This is a complaint of all restaurants today that we have to ask about how spicy a dish is because it seems to be the norm for the chefs to put red pepper flakes or some other hot spice in so many dishes. The salads are wonderful.

Have eaten here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Each time was exceptional. Not the usual humdrum selections. Lots of thought goes into the menu. Have never been disappointed. Everything is freshly made and top notch.

I have been to Bistro 217 several times and have never had a problem with this restaurant besides a snooty waiter that acted like he was doing us a favor by waiting on us. Last time I checked, that was his job. As well as some dry chicken and off flavor in the Honey Lime Chicken Salad. Today, I took my mom there for lunch for her birthday. We were seated right away seeing as there was hardly anyone there. Our hostess told a passing waitress that she was seating us in her section. Well, my mom and I sat there for close to 30 minutes without anyone taking our drink order. Finally, my mom got up and went to the bar and told a waitress that was casually leaning against the bar chatting that we had not been waited on yet. This just so happened to be the same waitress that the hostess had told earlier that we were seated in her section. Not once did the waitress apologize or even act like she cared. She was completely disinterested. After 40 minutes of being in the restaurant, we finally got our drinks. My mom ordered the BLT that came with a cup of potato soup and a salad, while I ordered just a bowl of the potato soup. Needless to say, it shouldn't have taken that long for us to receive our entrees especially when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. It took at least 30 minutes for us to receive our food, and in those 30 minutes, our waitress never graced her presence on our table. Once we got our food, she begrudgingly refilled our drinks. The food was delicious as pretty much always, that is definitely not their problem. The atmosphere is always lovely and the quality of food for the money is great. What Bistro 217 needs to work on is their service. Between snooty and rude waiters and completely disinterested waitresses, the service left alot to be desired. If they didn't have such great food, I would probably never go back.

What a real treat!! Food is awesome. The best seafood at the beach by far... Love the new decor!! Wow! Now it matches the food!!! We ate there three times in a week. Twice for dinner and once for lunch!!! If we had know how good the lunch was we would have gone there again! we had three different servers and all were very good!! The place was slammed and they did not miss a beat

We have to stop here twice on our annual golf girls trip - once for a wonderful meal (we have one gal who has only 1 request - red snapper - and this is the place) and on our way out of town - for the BEST non-mix home-made Mojitos (especially when Anita-Mojita makes them for us!!) - we sit at the bar laugh about our weekend (mostly our golf) have wonderful appetizers and head out to the airport - the perfect ending to a perfect girls gone wild weekend away.

We have been comming to Litchfield Beach with a group for 6 years and Bistro 217 was head & shoulders above any restaurant we have visited. Chef Adam personally visited our table. When we asked what the spices were in the tomato crab soup, he offered a receipe. Brian was our server & did a fabulous job, as did the entire sevice staff. We will be back for sure.

In short: even though we had a great time as a family, neither the restaurant nor the food was memorable at all, and we are not planning to go there again. In details: We travel a lot in US and Europe and usually select the local restaurants after reading all the reviews. While this restaurant has really good reviews, it did not impress us in any way. The interior decoration seem to be done by non-professional decorator, the dining room layout is odd. The good part - we had absolutely great waitress! Food... The artichoke & crab dip was weird, it was more cream cheese in it than artichokes, and there was absolutely NO crab in it. They should steal a recipe for it from Landry's at Broadway at the Beach. The appetizer salad is tiny and calamari we not liked by anyone in our family. The waitress was really nice and said she will take it off the order, so no complains about the service there! The NY steak was not a prime cut, and the seafood pasta was so-so. Lamb was great though! The owner of the restaurant walks around (you will recognize her by her pictures on the wall by the restrooms), but she does not seem to realize that people see her unhappy face all the time. If she comes to your table to find out if everything is fine, looks like she is not ready for 'not quite so' answer and immediately walks away. Needs to improve her social skills. IF the owners tried to go French (according to the name and signs on the restrooms), then they should've traveled to Paris to find out WHAT makes it French or at least different, romantic and unforgettable. This place is NOT what we expected. Oh, and BTW - The sink in the mademoiselle's room is awesome!. Monsignor, sorry - yours is still disgusting! Next time I will go to Landry's.

I think we have tried almost every restaranut between Myrtle Beach and Georgetown and this is our all-time favorite. The lunch choices are wonderful and varied, and while my husband always get the Grouper, I have tried everything on the menu, and neither of us is ever disappointed! The chef is outstanding, and every member of the staff provides excellent service. The owners are there all the time and make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. We always make sure we take our visiting friends to eat at Bistro 217, and they always rave about it.

What a wonderful discovery! We visit Pawleys often, but only recently decided to try some of the local restaurants. We were delighted to find this little bistro with a wonderful selection of light lunches and salads. The selection of items was unique. I recommend the Bancok Chicken-- my wife enjoyed the Fish Taco. We had a pleasant conversation with our waitress who was very friendly and helpful. The outside is nicely located to conceal the highway and parking lot. We'll go back.

Me and my fiance love this place! The atmosphere is very cozy and romantic. The menu is not very large and the only downside is that I think its a bit overpriced. But I don't mind paying a bit more for the atmosphere. Overall I would highly recommend it.

This where we eat for our "special" nights out. The food and service are always wonderful. The Treasure Trunk is my favorite (crusted eggplant filled with seafood in a white sauce), but I've tried most of the apps and other entrees. Everything is delicious. Expect to spend $20 per person without alcohol.

We are locals and have eaten here many times. Excellent food. We like the carrot strips and grapes that are served with the bread basket. The staff are always very friendly.

Have never eaten on the patio as it is more casual than we care for and have a TV going.

I ordered Shrimp and Grits which was delicious. The server was very attentive and pleasant, we ate outside and loved the atmosphere. The prices were reasonable for lunch. The desserts were fabulous, we shared fried banana, cinnamon and vanilla bean ice creams, a yummy valentines mousse and a rich chocolate brownie with ice cream. The chef is outstanding! I highly reccomend Bistro 217!!!

The menu is creative and varied enough to go often and the food is always perfectly prepared and delicious. Chef Kirby is passionate about his dishes and has developed a significant following among locals and visitors. It would be hard to pick a favorite dish, but any fresh seafood will be outstanding. The salads are special---not just the ordinary Caesar or mixed greens. It will be hard to save room, but the table should share at least a couple of the chef's especially wonderful desserts. This is a white tablecloth restaurant with reasonable prices and generous portions--an excellent value.

Finally a place that lives up to expectations! Bistro217 is worth the drive from Myrtle Beach. The atmosphere is upscale, but casual enough to wear shorts. We ate inside, but there is a beautiful outside patio dining area. Service was excellent - very friendly and attentive. The food was by far the best of our vacation. Portion sizes are perfect - not quite enough to have leftovers but you don't leave hungry. The Tomato & Crab soup had a nice spicyness; the Caesar Salad had just the right amount of dressing. The Chicken entree was juicy and full of flavor. The Eggplant Treasure Chest is a must-have item for seafood lovers. Very unique and a work of art when presented! The homemade banana ice cream was a great finish. We'll definitely be going back! A new favorite! A+++

My husband and I have a condo at Garden City and a friend or two who live in Pawley's and Litchfield. It is great fun to "do" the local seafood restaurants with friends and cook at home, as well, yet Bistro 217 was beyond our expectations for a night out .A little bit of high class metropolitan expectations, atmosphere, and excellent "plateing" sealed our enjoyment, in addition to what the "hunkiest" waiter in the Carolinas did to my 61 year old libido. Laughing. Our dinners were phenomenal. I had two appetizers instead of a main course dinner: Fried green tomatoes with delicately fried oysters and the crabcake sealed my love forever, and my DH had some wonderful fish. We'll definitely go back and shoot the budget to the wind again.

Very Good. Our favorite place to eat. Great calamari, steaks, specials and seafood. Last time we had the "Treasure Chest" Coated eggplant stuffed with seafood in a cream sauce. The seafood was wonderful and the eggplant was delicious. Incredible service and atmosphere. Usually the owner and/or chef come by the table to check on our meal.

Recently my son and I were in Pawleys Island, S.C.. Bistro 217 was recommended to us by Richard, a shuttle driver for Litchfield Resort. I had the Roasted Chicken on rice and my son had a hamburger. It was outstanding. Cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Also they give you a bowl of carrots and celery sticks, with grapes and Italian bread. That was a great start as you waited for your meal. The whole experience was very nice. The chef even came around to make sure you were pleased with your meal. How many chefs do that?

This little gem is tucked away in a strip mall in Pawley's.

Grouper with flash-fried spinach and a lobster sauce, outstanding. Service, excellent.

For dinner, try the scallops and risotto.

I rarely dine anywhere twice on a single vacation, Bistro 217 is the exception!
