We have noticed this restaurant over the years but for no particular reason just never tried it. There was a coupon 2/1 in the newspaper so we thought we would give it a try and we were glad we did! It was excellent. We ordered ravioli and lasagna. The other couple ordered veal parmigiana and sway served on spinach. All the meals we delicious but I must say the sway was the best. My friend said it was the best meal she had ever had in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will return. We are so glad we gave it a try. Would highly recommend it.

First off I'd like to address the poor reviews, someone stated that if you think this is good Italian food you need to get out more. We are transplants from NY and was worried about finding a good Italian Restaurant here in the South. Well my wife and I have eaten in the best Italian Restaurants in NYC including those in Little Italy. Villa Tuscana & the new Tuscana Bistro blows them away. Chef Venney was the Head Chef in a 5 star Resort in Milan Italy and it shows.....enuff said. I am not a salad guy but when you can make the house salad taste like the best salad I ever had you are a great chef, and the food gets better from there. It is a little pricey for the Beach but as the saying goes......you get what you pay for..

My husband and I have been coming down from NJ to Myrtle Beach for many years and finally found an Italian Restaurant with NYC quality. The food was fresh and delishous. Our server, Vickie, was the greatest! She made our first time to this gem of a restaurant a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this place. You won't be sorry. If you're looking for "fast food", stay away because this is the real thing.

I love this place! I used to live near the Villa, and i just want to say this: YES it is busy! It is in high demand because the flavor and the authentic foods are outstanding! You just need to prepare to wait, but it is worth it! If you aren't satisfied then Vinny is super nice and very serious when it comes to satisfying his customers! Just ask for him. To the people who complain about the prices, you obviously never worked in the food business. Believe it or not food cost are through the roof, and considering the food here is REAL and not fake its going to cost!!! If you want cheap food then go to fast food. Everyone should visit here, and FYI the dipping sauce for the bread is out of this world! Buy some to take home with you for the family back home.

My wife and I dine here every time we visit Myrtle Beach, and have always come away raving about the food. I've eaten in upscale italian restaurants in NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia and back home in New Jersey, and Villa Tuscanna takes a backseat to none of them. Starting with the stracciatella, thru the caesar salad and onto the main course ( this visit it was Veal saltimboca for my wife and Zuppe Alfredo for me), this chef sends out some of the best food I've ever eaten. There are many Italian restaurants in Myrtle Beach, Villa Tuscann is the best of them.

If you want authentic Italian..this is the place. The owner is from Sicily and it is the best sauce I have ever had. Salad used to be included in the price, but now it is separate, slightly pricely, but if you want excellent food, you pay for it. The staff is excellent also. The owner watches the floor very closely to be sure all his guests have top notch service. My husband and I went for the first time and we had no reservations. We were not turned away. The owner brought out a special table just for us. Awesome...Hats off to a great restaurant!! Now, we go back all the time.

From the appetizers to entrees to deserts this was by far our best Dining experience in N.MB The food was EXCELLENT Our server let us taste three wines before we could decide. Vikki was awesome. We had an unfortunate spill and she was there in two seconds rearranging the table and cleaning up our mess with a smile.

I have never had such wonderful tasting sauce. I could eat it with a spoon. This is by far our favorite italian restaurant. The owners are from Sicily. Their staff is superb. The gentleman who owns the place watches the customers like a hawk to be sure everyone receives excellent service. Likewise, the help is excellent. Other italian restaurants haven't a chance with the excellent food that this restaurant has. Prices are rather high. At one time the salad was included in the meal, now there is an extra charge. I think if they lowered their prices just slightly, they would have even more business. Hats off to a great restaurant!!

My husband and I came to myrtle beach for our first time for vacation. After reading many great reviews of this restaurant on tripadvisor and having a craving for italian food, we decided to give this restaurant a go. I think this restaurant has alot of potential. We got in around 9pm an hour before they close and noone greeted us. We were standing there for like 5 minutes. Finally I assume the owner? came and told us to wait, he had to look for a table. My first impression of this restaurant wasn't very good but I decided maybe we were coming in a little late and lets see how the rest of the nite would turn out. The waitress was very nice and friendly. I liked the decor of the restaurant. Nice touch. The bread came out and looked nice and hot and we started slicing it from the outside in. First piece, delicious! But the middle of the bread was still frozen! Its like they just put it straight in the oven from the freezer and it wasn't cooked thoroughly!. I then had the caesar salad. Yeah, that salad was not good. It tasted like only cream and butter. It had no anchovies in it at all. Caesar salad dressing is made with eggs and anchovy paste am I right? I couldn't finish it. My husbands minestrone was delicious though. The main courses were hearty but I was also famished. My husband liked his dish but I think mine was a tad salty. I ordered the chicken romana. The dish stated it was chicken with fresh mozarella and prosciutto in a lemon herb sauce. The mozerella didn't look fresh to me and it tasted more like ricotta cheese with processed mozerella melted on top. It tasted somewhat good though even though it was pretty salty. I also ordered the rasberry torte. Eight bucks for a slice of cake that tasted like something you get from a grocery store. It was frozen and tasted processed. Not homemade or good at all. Very disappointed with the taste and the price! I really really wanted to like this restaurant. To me, its more on par with a place like Olive Garden in terms of quality. Maybe I came on a bad night. But the first impressions here make me not want to come back. I would prefer Carraba's. And where does it state the pasta is homemade? Neither of our pasta in our pasta dishes were homemade at all. It was from a box. I get homemade pasta back home in DC all the time from a little italian place and my chinese hole in the wall restaurant I frequent. These noodles were perfectly the same size and length. More like machine made. I think they have potential though. I kept thinking of Gordon Ramsay's show kitchen nightmares when I think of that frozen bread. He would not tolerate that! All in all, I probably wouldn't reccomend this restaurant. Its average dining for a pretty expensive price. My dish was 22 dollars and I could get that same quality dish at olive garden's or carrabbas for five or six dollars cheaper! (especially if the pasta is not homemade) And I don't understand the concept of charging for an extra bowl of bread. It was good but not that good especially if it was frozen before being reheated! Arggh....I should have said something right at that moment....ah wells....

What can I say? If you want a little Italian restaurant with authenticity and a bit of imagination, where the osso bucco melts in your mouth and the chef will adapt to your needs, where the pasta is made right back there, and the staff make sure everything is right without clinging, and the piano player rocks...this is the place. Was so delighted to find it, amidst the chains and strip malls of the area. Surprises in every bite. Steaming hot bread. Great waitress.

Great food, but we had a party of eight and the waitress knew she was getting her 18% tip and we hardly ever saw her. It was not crowded and the poor service really ruined the experience. The automatic tip was also figured on the bottles of wine and the sales tax. The great food was not worth it.

My wife and I have been coming here for 5 years. Until this visit I rated it as one of my favorite restaurants. We were a party of four with a 6 o'clock reservation. They open at five. We asked if there pasta was home made and were told it was. The waiter announced they were out of linguini-yet only been serving one hour and it was still fairly empty when we arrived. My wife ordered the snapper-were told it was sold out; she then ordered lobster ravioli-same answer sold out. The other couple ordered a chianti off their wine list-answer-no longer have it.Our menus were different and it was so dark we had to lift the window shade to read it.

This was the worst Italian food ever. We were really excited by reading all the great reviews from the locals. If that is the best Italian food you have ever had, you need to get out more. I have had frozen dinners that were better which is not saying much. The bread was outstanding, so we figured we were in for a real treat. We had the chicken parmesan, the tortelini and pizza and ravioli for the kids. All really bad. The service was not bad and the restaurant had a really neat atmosphere. If they had good food they would have a great place.

Having gone to Villa Tuscana on many occasions while visiting Myrtle Beach we were very disappointed in our last visit. Dinner was not up to the ususal high standards, looks like there was a new menu and couldn't even get an Italian salad with dinner while a Cesar salad was included. What Italian resturant gives a Cesar salad in place of an Italian salad. I am afraid that was our last visit to Villa Tuscana. Hope the new Toscana Italian Bistro's food is much better.

We have eaten Italian food at some of the best restaurants in NYC,in Little Italy, Tony Dinapoli's, etc. Vinny at Villa Toscanna is the best chef hands down. When you can make something as simple as a tossed salad taste like the best salad you have ever eaten, that is one remarkable chef. Vinny was the head chef in a 5 star resort in Milan Italy and it shows. The only place on the Beach, and apparently NYC to go for Italian Food. Now if I can only convince him to move North., better yet I'm moving South !

We have been coming to Myrtle Beach for over 20 years for an annual golf trip. While we have eaten at several Italian Restaurants in MB, Villa Tuscana is, by far, the best of them all. From the moment we were seated (which was right away), the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The food, from the ceaser salad to the entree and the desserts was outstanding. A bit pricey, but well worth it.

Shhhhhh..... Keep this to yourself as I would like it to remIn a local " secret " ... Simply one of the most unexpected culinary treasures in the entire south. We are foodies. We love THE spots like Alenia , French Laundry, Guy Savoy , Daniel ect and don't mind plunking down tuition to dine . It's a rare treat that we stumble on something this delicious and affordable.I've read several reviewers state it's expensive. It's not . What is is however is astonishing in is simplicity and perfection .THE best escargot in the US. Period, Served in a gorgonzola sun dried tomato garlic creme under a fine layer of cheese and lightly toasted breadcrumbs , you will swear you are in Milan . We followed with an amazing veal chop on a sublime Demi glacé that never overpowered the taste and texture of the veal . We also had the chicken stuffed with crab on a herb creme sauce that was to die for . It came with light as air , melt in your mouth angel hair pasta that was obviously made that day . They offer good and yet inexpensive wine flights. The service was excellent and the air was electrified with joyous diners. Unless you eat calabash buffets often you instantly realize the pricing is on the moderate to low side when you think about how delicious and fresh the meal was. Outstanding !!!

Bad, bad, bad! My group of three couples visited Villa Tuscana in April 2010. We called ahead to make sure they would have a table available for us. While we were seated quickly, the service was slow and our server was surly and unfriendly. He rushed us through the menu offerings and brought our entrees and meals at different times. He seemed upset when we asked questions about the menu. He walked off with a huff when we asked for coffee (he didn't offer it). And he was equally upset when we dared inquire about desert. The ultimate insult came with the bill that included an automatic 15% gratuity - for such bad service and without any previous notification (in the menu or elsewhere). We'll never return.

On Sept.9, 2010 our friends and ourselves went to Villa Tuscanna for a birthday lunch. Both couples belong to International Dining Club,Ltd. As members we were guarented a buy one get one meal at this resturant. We told our server we were members of this club after we were seated, she asked for our cards then took them to the owner. Upon her return she told us that he would not honor them. That he had refused to alow their use before. She then left us for at least 5 mins. upon her return she asked if we still wanted to eat there, we decided to try the food since we were there. Again we were disapointed, All in all I would recommend avoiding this resturant, they not only to not honor their contracts, but the food was not up to the quality we expected , truly a disapointment.

Skip the seafood resturants - go to this place! We've figured out the seafood back home is the same as at the beach and for less money, so we will replace our seafood night with another night of Italian at Villa Tuscanna. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resturant to anyone. EXCELLENT FOOD! The teenagers loved it - even the very picky eater.

Be wary! I have the feel that management is writing many if not most of these reviews. The food, service and atmosphere are average to a tad above. However, when we dined here several months ago, a "new" menu offered "imported" clams in the vongole pasta. When asked where they were imported from (me figuring maybe NC, NJ or VA) server Dan checks with kitchen and then tells me - Portugal! Sorry but not for me; I like my seafood fresher than that preferably from local waters and harvested the day I eat it or at most one or two days later. Save the "imports" from Portugal for the port wine.I'm trying Villa Romanna next time.

Stopped in on Friday night. Not crowded at all (8:00pm) Had a seafood special, pasta carbonara, and fettucine with chicken. Two salads...hot antipasta, wine, pop, water....$110. for all. Although a pricey place...the food was outstanding!! Wonderful bread with a dipping sauce...excellent. Great waitress.

We have been to Villa Tuscanna a couple of times over the past few years. It was always excellent in all areas. Although the food this year certainly matched the quality of previous visits, the service by a surly and impatient waiter spoiled what otherwise should have been a pleasant return. The waiter was impatient and did not hide well his disrespectful facial expressions. Not appreciated when also handed a non-discretionary 18% gratuity charge. I think next time we'll spend our money where otherwise welcomed.

I took my fiance to Villa Tuscanna last summer and all I can say is the place should be shut down. Not only could I hear the owner yelling and cussing out his waitstaff in the kitchen, they obviously have a bug problem. My fiance ordered the pollo romana. She had finished half of her meal when she discover a dead roach in her dish. The only thing the owner offered was to buy both of us a cocktail. He did not offer to discount the check at all! We were so disgusted we just wanted to leave. After talking with people about our experience it was understood that this was not uncommon. I just want people to BEWARE! This restaurant should be condemned! There are plenty of other CLEAN wonderful restaurants to have dinner on the strand.

This resturant is a joke. The food is decent and priced fairly well for what you are getting but that is all I can say that is decent about this resturant. The waiter danny was the worst I have ever seen, and listened to the owner let the f word fly several times at the waitstaff. Dont take your kids. The owners foul mouth was so bad we were about to walk out but our food came. Ate fast then left. I am a local and wont be back and will let everyone in town know how the owner treats his staff..

Made reservation to voice mailbbox which was confirmed by return telephone call same night for date two weeks later (2/5/10). Upon arrival on time there was no reservation noted for us but it was early so a table was made available (booth as requested). So far not bad (but could have been no table if we arrived later). New menu was presented and confirmed by Danny (server) to be only several weeks old. In the mood for vongole (clams) I noted that new listing offered clams in red or white sauce with "Imported Clams (or if you preferred, scunguill or squid - both also preceded by the "Imported" designation). Never having (nor desired) IMPORTED clams with my linguine ANYWHERE I inquired of Danny: "Imported from WHERE"? thinking it might be from North Carolina or Chesapeake waters). After checking with the kitchen as I requested, Danny advised that the clams were imported from Portugal where they were caught, flash frozen and shipped to wherever....... I passed after telling Dan that the restaurant had just lost four stars from my own previous rating of about eight.(scale of 1 -10) and that it would be many moons before I ate there again. FRESH clams are much too abundant to have to settle for dead frozen ones from anywhere including Portugal. I was told I could have fresh mussels though which do not have the same appeal to me as fresh clams. Pity!! Although not listed on the menu I was assured that my second choice of Eggplant Parm could be assembled so that's what I had. Asked Dan if entrees were still accompanied with choice of soup or salad; answer: Yes. OK so my lady ordered Veal Tuscanna ($25) and we both opted for the soup (came to table tepid not hot). When check came there was a charge of $3 for soup and when questioned, Danny advised that soup did not come with the Eggplant Parm (after having told me otherwise). Rather than debate the extra charge we skipped dessert and took our leave - probably until Danny moves on or Vinny (owner/chef) decides to offer fresh clams (maybe he has relatives in the flash frozen seafood business in Portugal?). Sorry - USED to be good. Anybody know of a great Italian ristorante in Myrtle or No. Myrtle Beach that serves fresh seafood?

HORRIBLE! After driving by this restaurant many times and seeing the lot full of cars and reading the good reviews, we decided to give it a try. We were seated at the bar awaiting a table and got a glass of wine. The glass was filthy - not a good start to a meal. When seated, we were served bread and flavored olive oil. Nice. We chose the antipasti to start, again, nice. Entrees ... not so nice. Husband chose the fish special, a grouper. It was a less than quality piece of fish with gristle. I ordered rigatoni with marinara sauce. How can a simple dish like this be prepared so horribly? The following description is LITERAL - with NO exaggeration: The plate came out with 5 pieces of rigatoni served with AT LEAST two cups of an orange colored sauce that looked like campbell's tomato soup. OMG. I was speechless. I couldn't even bring myself to taste it. The server (I felt sorry for her because I think she was as horrified to see this dish come out of the kitchen) said she would take it off the bill and offered to replace it with something else. At this point I wasn't interested in anything else from this establishment. We tipped our server well since none of this was her fault. We will NEVER return and would NEVER recommend to anyone we know.

This was my first visit to Villa Tuscanna. I saw the parking lot full and decided to try it. I was seated promptly and was served a great loaf of Italian Bread with a variety of dipping oils. The salad was crisp, fresh and tasted great. The main course, the shrimp and clams Di Fraivlo, was disappointing. The sauce was was filled with garlic and was bland and while the shrimp was large, the shrimp had no flavor.

The food at Villa Tuscanna is excellent. I have traveled all over the world and can assure you that the Spaghetti Carbonara is the best I have ever eaten. It is absolutely delicious! Everyone in my party was very pleased with their meals as well. I will say that the atmosphere is not the greatest, simply because the restaurant itself is small. It is often crowded and therefore, it feels a bit claustrophobic. The waitstaff do seem a bit frantic which could in fact be because they are understaffed. That said, we will be back because of the quality of the food.

We decided to go to villa tuscanna for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised! our server greeted us and sat us at a comfortable booth. We ordered a lovely bottle of tuscan wine and our veal entrees were exquisite! the veal rolls is to die for! we had a special request for carpaccio that was not even on the menu....we were in heaven and then we were offered homemade limoncello! what a memorable evening and very reasonably priced. We will definetly go back on our next visit to myrtle beach..

Tonight we selected Villa Tuscanna because we all like Italian food and had heard that this restaurant was a good one. The service was friendly, gracious and very efficient. The food was excellant. We ordered three of our meals from the specials and one from the menu. All were well presented and very good. We will not hesitate to recommend Villa Tuscanna to our friends and it will go on our list of places to eat on the Strand.

*******Poor Service and under staffed************ We read the reviews and the menu and were excited to try this restaurant. We saw a couple of reviews that complained about them being under staffed. I figured those were instances and we would give it try.

We arrived late, traffic, and arrived at the hostess station.

We had several "waiters" come to the hostess station. But not a single one acknowledged we were there. We waited 10 minutes. No one talked to us. I finally said something to one of the waiters, he said he was a server, he would try and find the hostess. After 5 more minutes, I finally ran into the hostess, she said she was sorry they got busy and she had to help with the bar.

She started to look for a table, it was talking a few more minutes we decided to leave.

On our way out, a couple asked why we were leaving, we told we had been standing at the hostess station for 15 minutes. They left as well.

Take your chances.

I have been a fan of Villa Tuscanna since they opened. They are always upgrading the experience. It is a nice alternative to the standard chain fare. Only complaint - I don't like their Caesar dressing. But they have a decent Carbonara, not the best I ever had but way above the average Alfredo take off. Not the same dish. They can also accomodate larger parties very nicely. I have been there with all size groups from 2-24.

I wish I could agree with all these reviews, but I am Italian and I didn't like the food here at all. Even the caesar salad had an oily dressing on it and that was all I could taste in it. I am already turned off a restaurant that wants to charge me for sides. $24+ for a piece of meat or chicken and then I have to pay an extra $5 - $7 for a vegetable to go with it??.give me a break! Italian restaurants have always been famous for giving you more food than you can eat because they take pride in their food. Having to pay for every little thing is not traditionally Italian, sorry. The food was too exotic and not enough good, basic Italian.

I LOVE the Villa Tuscanna Restaurant. I always take my wife and two young boys, ages 5 & 8.

My family and I loved this place. The atmosphere was great.

The food was the best I've ever had.

A bit expensive but worth it.

We had a business meeting here the other day. The food was EXCELLENT! I will go here more often for sure. This night they were a little busy so we did not get served right away. They were short on staff and the bartender was actually our waiter. It was still a good expierence.

Fabuloso!!! My Italian Mama would be thrilled by the amazingly tasteful dishes served in a quaint but elegant setting. A bit pricey but so worth the money! Great place for a romantic dinner.
