Review: I have nothing negative to say other than the fact that the temperature was a little cooler than anticipated, even with the scorching temperatures outside, so bring a sweater or light jacket for comfort sake. The food was excellent... fresh salad, wonderful soup & the entree was enough for two people and then some to eat off of for dinner & lunch the next day. The prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. The owner was very cordial and came around two times to inquire about our dinner & even wished us a good evening. I highly recommend this restaurant!!

Review: We eat at Villa Mare every time that we are in Myrtle Beach. The service is always wonderful and the food is delicious. Be sure to try the Eggplant Parm...one of our faves! We're heading to Myrtle Beach again in a few weeks and Villa Mare is at the top of our list of stops!

Review: I cannot comment on the quality of the food served nor the value for the money. My granddaughter and I tried to eat dinner at this restaurant on Saturday evening, about 6pm. We went inside, was never greeted by anyone and just stood there waiting for someone to seat us. A gentleman from the bar looked over and said someone would be with us shortly. We could see many empty tables, so this was not the problem. We waited approx. 10 minutes and never had anyone approach us to seat us. We finally got disgusted and walked out. This is extremely poor service and I will never attempt to eat at this restaurant in the future. I will make it a point to let everyone know of this experience.

Review: After reading the previous review-felt I needed to respond. Every time we have visited Villa Mare, the food was excellent. It is made to order and has been delicious. The sauce is not canned. It is homemade by a hardworking family. The service is always great. And the owner- just can't imagine him being rude to anyone.He checks on all the tables in the place to make sure his customers are satisfied. Great place, great service, great everything.

Review: The staff (waitresses) of the restaurant is what makes it. We have tried this place several times and liked it the first few but the last couple of times we have gone the food has not been good. We have received cold, watered down food and when we finally said something to the owner about it he was rude.
Don't think we will waste our money here anymore... there is a great Italian restaurant directly behind it that is really good!

Review: This is our favorite restaurant. We love having soup and salad included.
We are snowbirds and always take friends and family. Everyone agrees "the food is great!". Our Italian friends gave rave reviews. Service is always friendly and Fred makes you feel welcome and sees that all patrons are comfortable and satisfied. Villa Mare has it all ....excellent food, good wine, and a friendly and warm atmosphere.

Review: When I go to an Italian restaurant the last thing I expect to be served is a "gray" chicken patty (not a real breast) with a bland, watery sauce (it resembles canned tomato soup more than any good Italian sauce that I've had). The soup was too salty and the pasta overcooked. This restaurant was recommended to me so I was expecting something spectacular and was totally let down.
As others have said, it's also very cold in there. Definitely will not be back.

Review: Food was not good. A chicken parm shouldn't be two frozen chicken cutlets with canned sauce and a little cheese. Having worked in the restaurant business for a long time its easy to spot these things. Nice decor, service wasn't very good. Probably wont go back. And why is it so cold in there?

Review: Excellent, entrees were fabulous, all 3! Only recommendation is to get some fresh parm, cracked pepper and dipping oil for the bread, and it'll be like I never left north Joisey:) Good job, we'll be back.

Review: My friend and I were visiting Myrtle Beach. Everything was fantastic!! We had the stuffed peppers to start and then shared the Chicken Portobello for an entree. We had plenty to eat because the portions were generous. I can't say enough about how great our experience was. Warm and friendly service and the food was to die for.

Review: Service was great. The owner is walking around greeting people, which is great. Food started out great but went downhill. Appetizers were very good but entree, not so good. It's a shame because we can't find a good italian restaurant around here and had high hopes for this one. Might try it one more time..

Review: Great place. Great food. My wife and I gave it a try when we couldn't get a seat at tavern in the forest. We were so glad we did. We had the lobster ravioli for a starter and the chicken marsala for the main course. The food was fantastic. Great service and cozy atmosphere. I definately recommed this place..

Review: I do not understand anyone saying that this is agreat Italian restaurant. The sauce is watery, bland and huge servings do not mean good food. The pasta was overcooked and the eggplant dish I had was mostly sauce. We had wine, but no one asked us if we wanted another. We also needed more water but we couldn't get our servers attention for several minutes. She rarely came back to check on things. We went with 6 other people and we were crowded around a small table and the service was slow. It is really just one big room and very noisy. We will not be back.

Review: My wife and I are from the state of Maryland.We moved down here two years ago. While being here, we have been patrons at numerous restaurants. Back when we lived in Maryland, we would visit an area, in Baltimore, called " Little Italy" . It is famous for very good italian restaurants. By far Villa Mare's food out shines the food we had there! Taste, temperature, quality and the size of the portions of the meal are tops. We met the owner, who (by the way seated us) was by far friendly and neighborly. The service alone, by his staff, is another good reason to visit again. We fully enjoyed the lasagna and lobster ravioli dishes.

Review: Altho we love this restaurant when it was in another location, we were extremely disappointed that calzones are no longer on the menu. W have waited months for the new restaurant to open. Made a 25 min trip last night for the mouth watering calzones (best we ever had), only to find out th menu no longer has pasta on it. Very sad.

Review: My husband and I have been looking for a good Italian restaurant with great veal in Myrtle Beach and I think we found it. I had the best Veal Romana there last night. The salad was yummy - get the raspberry vin. dressing. Don't be in a hurry - all food is prepared to order and worth the wait. Prices aren't bad - 17 for great veal 11 for ok lasagna. Portions are large and soup and salad was inculded. The staff was warm and friendly. There are white real tablecloths but the place is not stuffy!

Review: My family and I travel to Myrtle Beach once per year and we ALWAYS make it a point to have dinner at Villa Mare. Everything about this place is good and they always have something good for everyone in the family. They especially go out of their way to accomodate my kids. Visit them early in your vacation week because you will have left-overs! Great Place!

Review: As a diner who is from New York and eats out every night I can comfortably reccommend this restaurant as the best Italian restaurant in Myrtle beach. Lacking in atmosphere is made up for by extremely well prepared food from the kitchen.The lamb chops are the best I've ever had and the eggplant is of the highest quality.The portions are way to much for the little price they charge. Fred, owner and host, is cordial, caring and interested in your comments.

Review: This family owned restaurant in Myrtle Beach on 79th Street is a must to visit. Try the Pasta Santa Lucia (linguini with shrimp and spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes.) Also the Portabella Chicken is very flavorful. Portions are large and Fred the owner strolls through and greets diners on most nights.
