We ordered the 6 oz. sirloin on the early bird menu. Server asked if we wanted marshmellows on our sweet potato. We said "yes". Later, upon receipt of the bill, we were each charged 1.19 for a loaded potato. When we told the server that she did not tell us there was an extra charge for the marshmellows, she sarcastically said, "you didn't ask," then proceeded to argue with us about it being in the "fine print" on the menu. We asked to speak with the mgr. He was also argumentative and said it was clearly on the menu. After several minutes of discussion and showing him that it was not clear on the menu that marshmellows were extra, he volunteered to take the charge off the bill. I do not appreciate arguments with mgrs. of restaurants when it has been made clear to the mgr. that the guest had a valid concern and tried to discretely explain their position. The server came back with our change and said that the mgr. took the complete charge for the potato off our bill -- the potato came with the meal and did not have an extra charge. I again tried to explain to her that she did not do a good job explaining how the marshmellows and caramel sauce was a "loaded" potato, when the usual butter and brown sugar were completely left off. When she was searching for a clue about her tip, I told her that I felt that the service was lacking and I was quite disappointed about that part of the dining experience. She continued to try to argue with us. We had to just walk away from the situation. Bad experience.

First let me start by mentioning that I am a Waiter/Food Server myself and I have never been into a restaurant with such consistent great service time after time in my life! I must be in there at least once a week and I find the service friendly, prompt (I rarely even need to ask for a refill), and generally just quite good at what they do. Which is odd considering how bad tips have been for me lately in my restaurant.. It's hard for me to even keep a smile on my face..

My food always comes out cooked perfectly which is odd considering that it's a steak house. I almost always in most other restaurants have to order my steak under-cooked just to get it to come out the way that I like it, but not at Texas Roadhouse! They make a perfect Medium Filet. I order the 8oz Filet nearly everytime I visit the restaurant and I must admit that it is some of the best tasting and most tender filet that I've ever had in my life! Tthough I will sometimes change it up and go for the 1/2 slab of ribs. The Ribs are fantastic! Plenty of meat to the bone and a more than decent size portion for anyone. I've never tasted more tender ribs. You don't even need to cut them as they just fall apart on their own. If you order a baked potato or a baked sweet potato make sure that you try it loaded! For only a dollar extra it's so much better. The salads are fantastic and they say that their dressing are all made inside the restaurant. The French and the Italian Dressings are my favorite. Even the bread service deserves to be mentioned here as it is also delicious and that sweet honey cinnamon butter that comes with it is just out of this world.

The atmosphere is alright but it seems a little small for the kind of business that it brings in. They should really expand the restaurant. Also their smoking is right in the middle of the restaurant and that kind of bugs me. I almost always request a seat either upstairs or far away from the smoke. The music can get a little loud, especially when the crew is line-dancing, but at least it is good country music. Honestly I don't think that I have ever had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. Though larger parties may have trouble getting seated quickly. The restaurant just doesn't look like it's built to be able to seat parties of more than 8.

So overall I would say that it's my favorite restaurant in the Murrells Inlet/Garden City area (And I live here so that's saying something!). The service is better than almost any other restaurant that I've been to (I always end up tipping about 30% or more on my check), the food is not only cheap but tastes out of this world (I wouldn't hesitate to pay double their prices for that kind of food), and I cannot help but tell everyone I know about the place!

The steaks here are the best in town.. trust me i live here.... talk about a nice meaty cut steak... and you can even pick out your own steak from the window they have!! i would recommend eating here the prices are the best ive seen for steaks and you get great sides to choose from. they dance every hour which keeps the guests entertained... i do understand we went in the summer time when they get more service... i would tell anyone and everyone to go here if you didn't you would be crazy not to!!!! i could eat there every night.

We ate here in August 2007. We arrived at 5:50 and they allowed us to have the earlybird specials which was great. We were seated right away. My children loved their Chicken kids meals. The salad and bread was great. We finished and arrived at the Pelican stadium by 7:10. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We have eaten here every year that we come to Myrtle Beach for the last 5 years and it is always wonderful.

Our family was very disappointed with the service and quality of the food at this restaurant. We ordered a grilled chicken and shrimp dinner with fries, a hamburger, and a kid's order of chicken strips. We went on a Monday evening in September. The restaurant was less than half full. We waited over an hour for our food. After an hour, I approached the manager to ask about our order. I told him that we placed the order at 7:16pm and that we had waited at least 45 minutes for our food. He looked at his watch; it said 8:15pm. He looked up and said "Well, I guess it has been an hour. I'm sorry. It should be coming soon. We're waiting on the chicken strips." When we finally received our order, the burger was less than average, the shrimp was over cooked, and the chicken strips were overfried. The chicken strips cost $6.99. There were 2 strips of chicken that were only approximately 2 1/2 inches long. I could not believe it! The manager made no adjustment to our check despite the poor service, long wait for food, and burnt chicken strips. In good conscience, I couldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

After eating at a few local restraunts and waiting for half an hour just to be seated. It was very refreshing to get in have a great meal (probably one of the cheaper ones) and be out in an hour. When we arrived there were people waiting outside and it still only took 5 min to get in and the service was top notch. I would recommend this restraunte to every one.

We ordered ribs and rib eye steak. The ribs were cold in some place and only warm in other parts. They were not hot. We were never asked if we wanted more rolls. And when we complain she just said really that is unusual.

I am not a complainer but I really enjoy going to Texas Road House other than the last few times I have been to our local one. The food is still very good but the service is slacking. The last time we went the service was slow, got our appetizer, salads, and dinner at the same time. Then we felt like we were being rushed to leave. Last night when we went it was not busy but we got sat with no bread not a big deal but took 15 minutes before our waiter acknowledged us, asked for drinks and still took 5 minutes to get them. It honestly took 40 minutes from the time we sat to get our salads. And even after having to repeat 3 times that I wanted a hearty cut sirloin ( an 11 oz steak) I still only got an 8 oz steak. It is no longer a good experience and will more then likely be a very long time before trying it again.

We visited the Texas Roadhouse on our vacation to Myrtle Beach. I had steak, and my wife had chicken. Our salads were fresh, and the dressing was good. My steak was cooked the way I asked for it. It was flavorful and tender. I was pleased. My wife was happy with her meal as well. She said that the chicken was not dry, and had a good flavor. The atmosphere is always up beat. The wait staff was nice and also neat in appearance. Our waiter was prompt and attentive. The wait time to be seated was normal for summer, but not excessive. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, and had a good time there. We visit almost every year that we vacation in Myrtle Beach. We plan to go back again. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I am from Texas and just moved to Myrtle Beach and Texas Roadhouse was my favorite place to eat.( Also worked there a while back) I was so exited when I saw the neon sign, but was all changed when I went inside. I have never in my life been treated as poorly as I had that night, My steak was over cooked twice and I was not able to eat at the same time as my girlfriend, I just took the steak put it in my napkin and asked to talk to a manager. Twenty minutes later he comes and I told him I was also a restaurant manager not looking for any handouts, but I was not happy and he did nothing... I guess its true everything is BIGGER and Better in Texas - at least the TEXAS ROADHOUSEs are!!!!

My sister and I eat here at least 3 times a month. Great special on the two for one. Love the steak, it melts in your mouth. The salad is always cold and crisp. They have the best blue cheese dressing around. but could use extra - it's just not quiet enough. We always say "can we have two blue cheese each", but they hardly ever bring it. Now were rating the tip on if they bring it or not the first time! Ice tea is wonderful. and the rolls and baked potato are also great. We find it to be a great family restaurant. Staff is friendly and efficient most of the time. In the 3 yrs, maybe twice in all that time, we ever had a issue with a waitress or waiter, which were corrected quickly. From a rating of 1-10 You guys are a 10 !! Keep up the great work. Now the downfall is not much seating in front when your waiting for your table to be called. It gets so crowded. They need to put more benches around the restaurant outside and inside. Get rid of the juke box there. put it somewhere else. that could be another bench area.,and maybe under the big window they are cooking at. It is quite noisy at times, wish it could be a lttle bit quieter, but they do have fun there.. All in all it's a wonderful place!!! . We know the food and know its always consistant.!! You need to put some of your receips on the free Restauant receipes.com Especially your blue cheese dressing.Would love to know how to make it. We have never had a bad meal yet. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Colleen & Sharon
