Supannahong

Thai Restaurant in Myrtle Beach

Supannahong is a family affair with owner Parinya Popra, her mother, Joy Raiford (who is the sister of the owner of Thai Cuisine restaurant), her uncle, Sonya Boonsit, and friend Wanna Samedang. Lunches come with complimentary Sour and Spicy Soup brimming with matchstick ginger, tofu and fresh cilantro; and a Spring Roll served with sweet Thai Sauce. Dishes include Guay Teow Phad Thai (stir-fried noodles with a choice of meats and egg, bean sprouts, green onions and crushed peanuts); Phad Kai-Grob (stir-fried crispy chicken, chili paste, egg, ginger and bell pepper); Golden Hong Thong - Deep-fried rolls with shrimp, chicken, crab, onion and crystal noodles served with Thai sauce; Tod Kra-Dook-Moo - Deep-fried spareribs topped with roasted garlic and served with Thai chili sauce; and Phad Preow-Wan Plad - Deep-fried whole snapper topped with chili paste, onion, bell pepper, celery, mushroom, green onion and cashew nuts.

Review: This is our favorite restaurant. The food is delicous and even though the service is a little strange it is worth it. Our favorite is the chicken pad Thai and Thai ice tea.

Review: THIS RESTRAUNT WAS TERRIBLE! When we got there we had to stand for five minutes to be seated even though nobody else was there, these woman just stared at us. We ordered different thai soups for dinner, which tasted okay but gave this terrible feeling to many of us like we had been druged. I must say I can not reccomend this to anyone

Review: This gem in hiding is a small family-owned restaurant located in Socastee Plaza (nearly opposite Socastee Station) on Hwy 707. So far it is relatively quiet so you will be served at once. Decor is low key but in addtion to tables they have some Thai-style cushion seating which would be nice for a romantic couple. They don't have a liquor license but you may BYO. The best thing though is the Thai food here is excellent quality with generous servings - vastly superior in taste and authenticity than the restaurant which claims to be the "Best Thai in MB" and served piping hot. Try the coconut chicken soup, and pad thai noodles. Also for a variation on ice tea, try their ice green tea or Thai iced tea.
