My husband and I love this place! We ate here last year when we were vacationing and went again this morning. The food, service, and prices are excellent. It is memorial weekend and the place was very, very busy. However, we still didn't have to wait long. It only took a fews minutes to seat us. This is one of the best breakfast diners I've been to!

This place is awesome! We love all of their creative pancakes. Their omelets are huge. Not only do they serve great portions, it tasted great too! The waitress was great and food was served fast and hot. We definately are making this a regular stop on our trips to the beach!

My wife and myself, along w/ our children, thier spouses, and this year my granddaughter will be eating our breakfast's at Sunrise when we visit in July We've always found the owner to be very pleasant, and will take time for general conversation w/ you. He's even shared that he has visited the general area of our home. Come on, how many owners takes their time to do that. I've heard the local's enjoy it there, and I know my family and myself as "outsiders" do. On a time or two, we did have to wait for a " very short period of time" to be seated due to the high volume of customers, but what resturant does'nt. Sunrise gets our vote......SEE YOU IN JULY!!!!

My husband and I visited during our Valentine's day trip, the waitress helping us quit! The table across from us complained that their food wasn't good. All of the waitresses were hanging out in the kitchen (never a good sign)! One server came out with a order of onion rings 3 different times , but couldn't remember where they went. The total experience was horrible so we went to our old dependable Cracker Barrel down the street.

My husband and I went on Monday morning. Wasn't busy. Put in our order and then customers who came in after us were served. Waitress said our "slip fell behind the toaster". She would get right on it! My toast was burned and who knows what was in the sausage patties. I kept chewing on something hard???? Then we waited and waited for the waitress and our check and waited and waited. Finally I got up and went to the cashier and told them what we had for breakfast. Without the slip from the waitress he didn't know what to do. Waitress came running over with the slip. She ran when it meant a tip! Will not go there again. Stung once! Not twice!!!!

I've been vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area for many years and this is definitely one of the best breakfast restaurants at the beach. The staff was friendly, the food was wonderful and the prices were great for the amount of food you receive.

Best breakfast in Brunswick County easily. after eating at other local breakfast joints, it's easy to see that Sunrise's food quality is heads and shoulders above the rest. New owner is very customer friendly and wait staff is very energetic and professional. Should be a destination for any vacationer to the coast.

my husband and i ate here in june 09 -we didnt know until leaving the restaurant that they close at 2. we didn't get there till 130 -the staff never said a word. they were so friendly and kind to us. when we noticed the sign and mentioned how sorry we were to go in so late, the waitress said"honey we are here another hour cleaning it was no problem" and to the person who commented on the owner not being friendly-i couldn't disagree more. He was wonderful and i think the little girl he smacked with the menu was his grandaughter. we will definately go back this year

My family and I have been regular customers here for a couple of years. We have tried just about everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. We usually visit Sunrise for breakfast but have had lunch here a few times too and the food was great. The owners are welcoming and pleasant. They create a nice family atmosphere. Most of the employees are treated like family which you can tell by the informal interaction between them and the owners. Yet great service is maintained. As for the food, the pancakes are phenomenol as well as the omlettes. I also recommend the breakfast burrito. It is huge and delicious. And for those who like grits, they are wonderful here. Too many things to recommend. Just give them a try and you will not be disappointed. Thanks to Rector, Betty, Jeff and the entire staff for a great place to go!!

I haven't been here for about 1 year, I find the owner a horrible person. He actually popped one of the 14 -16 year old girls who are bus people on the butt with a menu and told her to get our drinks. The food was very expensive for breakfast and the food isn't as good as George's across the street. The owner of this place is not a nice guy.

Sunrise for breakfast, Callahan's to Christmas shop, Lori's to shop for golf for the wife, then Cap'n Nance's for lunch. Now that's the way to spend half a day in Calabash. The pecan waffles or pancakes are to die for, along with a slab of ham and a great cup of coffee. Check the crowds of locals (license plates) after Sunday churchs let out. It's worth the wait. Try it, you'll be back!
