Review: Sugami is an excellent restaurant. It's open until late and has a fantastic atmosphere.
However, as someone who has actually lived in Japan for many years and knows Japanese food well (from nato to tonkatsu to ramen to sushi to oshinko and so on), I can say that the quality of the food is not the best. You can find fresher sushi from Yamato at a slightly more reasonable price.
Regardless, I love Sugami because of the atmosphere and the service which are both excellent. In addition, you can find dishes that are typically hard to find in America (save for big cities like New York and L.A.) like udon and tempura. Too bad they don't have shoyu ramen.

Review: This is a servicable "Benni Hanna" type of Japanese restaurant, where they cook the food in front of you. Their stock in trade is the dishes made popular in America by these type of places, all of which are based on Yahiniku. The sushi, while not exceptional or adventuresome, is consistantly tasty, fresh, and good. If you're craving sushi, it will take care of that for you, but don't expect to be amazed. Overall a good place.

Review: Sugami is my favorite restraunt in Myrtle Beach. I have been all around the world and have tried sushi many different places and I must say that Sugami is one of the best I've had. I eat anything on the menu from their exquisite sashimi to their teriyaki dinners. Everything i have tasted is beyond belife. I would recomend this restraunt to anyone who would like to experience a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere with the freshest sushi in town!

Review: The past three times I've been to Myrtle Beach, this is one of the spots I must stop and dine at. Sumgami's is one of the best values in MB. I've had several items on thier menu ranging from the sweet potato tempura rolls and spicy tuna roll to the chicken hibachi plate and it's all been fabulous, especially for the price. The staff has been extremely friendly and eager to please and food has always been prompt. The bar area can get crowded on the weekends, but a great place to sip sake and take in the scene.
