This is our favorite restaurant in Garden City/Murrells Inlet. We are locals and always look forward to their re-opening every spring. The chicken is fabulous and we can't get enough of the fried oysters. We're so happy they brought them back this year. The staff is family friendly and so accomodating.

We went here other week. I do not eat that much seafood per say but I thought I would still give this a try. They were out of fried chicken but the server brought me out two pieces of chicken in a few minutes. But not sure what oil they use but just did not taste that well. Matter of fact everything just had a poor taste. The salad bar area was not stocked. The service was great. Overall this new local will not return.

We have been enjoying Southern Suppers since they first opened in the 70's at their original location near the former Air Force Base! It's always a very clean inviting enviornment with great food, great service- June and Sheri are delightful~ With the weak ecomony many people that can afford beach vacations cannot afford pricey meals so, I hope they keep the price affordable for familys! See you in June!! The Tanners from Ohio

After skipping Southern Suppers the last few years since they relocated to Garden City, my wife and I decided to return last week on on Wednesday, 6/24. We are very glad we did. I found the quality of food to be outstanding and the price less expensive than some of the other buffets. You should note that Southern Suppers has ham rather than prime rib on their buffet, so keep this in mind when making your decision on where to eat. Your desire for crab legs is also an issue. The price does not include crab legs - they are $$$ more. I feel Southern Suppers was every bit as good, and we walked right in and were seated with no wait. Even though tourism is definitely down in MB, Crabby Mike's had a significant wait to get seated. I strongly suggest giving Southern Suppers a chance.

Have been going there for sometime but this trip was very disappointed. No prime rib on the buffet and have to pay for crab legs by the pound. At 19.95 per person I feel its too expensive for what you get. This was probably my last trip to Southern Suppers.

LOVE IT!! Our family goes to Southern Suppers every year. We tried it one year and fell in love with it. Our family is from upstate SC and its great to eat a place that reminds you of local southern cooking. Its a little pricey but there is usually a coupon in the Sunny Day guide that you can use. Take your family there and enjoy great food, great service, and a really good time.

My husband and I were there in March of 2008 after you opened. We enjoyed the meal and the service was great. I especially enjoyed the scalloped corn. My father used to make scalloped corn for the family and I had not had that in many many years. When we come back to Garden City, we definitely will go back to the restaurant when they open in March.

We went to Southern Suppers on 8-4-08. We went to dinner around 8pm and was seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and brought refill's before we had to ask. The only thing I did not like is that you paid $9 extra for the crab legs which would be fine if you knew that before you were seated. We did get the crab legs and they were good. My children loved the mashed potato's. This was our first and only buffet during our trip and we had a good experience. Every trip we made to the buffet nothing was ever empty.

This place is a RIP-OFF! You can get much better food at other restaurants in the area (try Admiral's Flagship) for a much better price. I can't believe I forked over more than $50 for my wife and I to eat here. The food wasn't that great, the service (even for a buffet) was less than desirable, and again, the price was highway robbery. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

We were so disappointed by Southern Suppers after reading the good reviews. The buffet was $20 per person (not including drinks), and the waitress told the couple behind us that the prices were higher in the summer (to get more out of the tourists I suppose). I'm willing to pay 15-17 dollars at other buffets because the food and service are so good. At SS, the prime rib was overcooked, the "raw bar" crab was like rubber, and the fried shrimp were soggy. What filled me up was the cornbread, which I admit was delicious. In addition, we waited almost 15 minutes after we were finished for the waitress to bring our check, and that was after she had us stack our own plates on top of other people's plates that she was carrying! Gross! I left feeling incredibly ripped off and wishing I had gone back to The Ghost Ship or Admiral's Flagship. I consider myself easy to please, but if I'm paying that much for my family, I at least expect good food and good service!

Our waitress was more interested in pleasing the family of ten at the next table. She never checked to see if we needed anything. Throughout our entire meal, she spent "all of her time" at the next table. It was as if we weren't even there. When my husband asked for the check, the only thing she said was she hoped we enjoyed our meal! I have never, ever received poor service like this anywhere! This occured on the evening of 21 August 06..

My family tried this place on a recent visit to the coast and were very pleased. It was not as pricey as some other buffets on the strand, but it still had a large variety to choose from and everything we tried was great. Fast and friendly service and good food is often hard to find in these buffet type restaurants. This is an exception. Highly recommended!!!

My favorite place to eat on the Grand Strand. All the food is hot, and every item is that I've tried has been excellent. Great place to eat and you don't have to deal with the 1 or 2 hour wait time like you do at the big name buffets. Let's keep this a secret or I may have to stand in a long line next time. Price is around $15 (w/coupon) without the crab legs. Highly recommend.
