For the past 8 years or so Scatori's was my favorite Italian restaurant. It was where I took visiting friends and family. That ended Monday evening. After waiting nearly an hour for our pasta dinners to be served, one was not prepared as ordered. Diners who ordered after we did received their food before us. Our complaint to the manager was fruitless. She was arrogant and condescending, offering excuses for her staff's shortcomings despite our waitress admitting her error in ordering. No apology or compensation was offered; no attempt to appease longtime patrons. The eatery was busy but not crowded. Myrtle Beach has too many other dining choices to tolerate such behavior.

My parent's ate at the restaurant recently and loved the food as well as the service. The atmosphere was nice and the server was very pleasant. The pizza was great as well as the pasta and the fresh bread was incredible.Chef Kevin knew his wine and made all of his dishes with love. It shows that he has over 15 years of experience and has been trained by the best chef's in the world. A great Italian resturant and one of the best in Mrytle Beach. Recomend it to anyone who appreciates good food and great service.

The food is OK, typical pizza place. Service is extremely slow, mostly due to not enough servers working, however if you take too long to eat your food you will be asked to hurry up because other people are waiting! I was appalled!

I have been ordering pizza from Scatori's in Surfside since they opened. Tonight even though we tipped their driver the lady driver claimed to the owner that we did not tip her at all. Then proceeded to tell the owner that we were rude to her because she was late which she was not. The OWNER called to tell us we could not order pizza anymore and to go to Dominos. Told me our daughter Becky was rude ( if you consider laughing at a joke the driver made herself rude..ahhh ...okay.) to their driver for being late which she was not so she is LYING again about what happened. Instead of calling up and screaming to your customer maybe you could have showed some class and asked what happened first. Then you hang up not once but 3 times when I called you and your wife back. Yes, my daughter is upset in the back ground ( and now also yelling while I am trying to politely get to the bottom of what is going on between 2 screaming people) because you are accusing her of something that never happened and as a man to call a female customer without any provocation start yelling and screaming at them IS BEYOND WRONG. Gee I am sorry your driver didn't get the tip she was hoping for your drivers never complained before. I am sorry I need to have 3 heart valves replaced and cannot afford $10.00 tips for the drivers. I am sorry my grandson wanted pizza and I figured I would purchase it from a small local business instead of a chain like Dominos. I'm sorry my patronage of your restaurant is not appreciated as apparently I am not rich enough to eat there. I am sorry I don't think someone deserves a $10.00 tip when the pizza itself was only $20.00 and I only live 5 minutes away from your store! I wonder how many customers you are going to hear this about from this employee before you realize she caused you to loose a customer and possibly others who have ordered from you almost every week since you have opened and this is the first time you had an issue?!? And you saw no reason to question it, you just call up screaming and yelling at a customer and then without hearing the customers side hang up, instead of finding out what happened from their side? Think about it. Who was rude, maybe you should examine your actions before you accuse someone else of being rude.

The chef is amazing, their service has been solid, food consistently excellent. AND, WE ARE NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. Why? We are locals and spent almost $3,000 in the past two years including special occasions, tastings (always excellent) and regular dinners. The staff & chef know us and we know them--almost like family (or so we thought.) Today, I called to make a reservation for 9 from out of town. I spoke with the owner who said she had an established rule that no pizza could be served on the dinner side of the restaurant--for kids by-the-slice or otherwise. "That's our rule and we have stuck to it for 5 years" she said. "The dinner side is for dinners--not pizza" she added. The restaurant won awards for pizza. They advertise it. And, two kids (10-12 years old) wanted pizza. Seven (7) adults were dining. This would have been a big ticket--but not so to the owner. The owner said "No" because "Saturday night is a busy night" and "the party wasn't a large party" Don't know what this has to do with pizza...but I told her if that's what she wants, she got it. Food Rule #1 No pizza. No exceptions. No more business from us. Then, she offered to seat us on the restaurant side (cramped, noisy and crowded for 9 for dinner-people we haven't seen in years) And, like a dog holding a trusted bone, kept referring back to her "rules." So, if you want great food, they have it, but make sure you can get it. If you have ANY special needs, requests or expect "exceptional" service, this is not a "flexible" restaurant, to quote the owner.

I'm sitting in Scatori's right now and I'm so disappointed. I love their food but lately the service has been TERRIBLE. The owner used to be so sweet and the last 2 times she pretended like she didn't know us and treated us like we were a big annoyance. I was hoping today would be different but sadly it's not. Our server got irritated with us because we changed our minds on what we wanted to order and seems annoyed to be waiting on us. The food is amazing and always delicious but I now feel like I'm an inconvenience to them. NOT HAPPY!

The food here is excellent. The pizza is the best around, especially if you are from the north. If you are from SC you probably won't like it, because the food is GOOD! My only complaint are some of the prices have really gone up and are a little ridiculous. $9 for a Calzone and $9 for a Meatball Sub are more than the prices are in NY. I was up in NY recently and was surprised that it was less expensive for good Italian food there than here. But again, the food is great, but if the prices go up much more I won't be able to afford going there. And if you go to the "Fine" restaurant side, bring lots and lots of money!

Omg. Delicious food!!!! Great sauce. Early bird dinner menu with appetizer, salad, and meal is awesome. I have already been there 2x in 2 weeks and can't wait for a reason to go back. The fresh hot bread is so yummy. Hidden on 544 you may not see it. Give yourself a gift of fine Italian food and visit here for dinner. Oh, I ate on the restaurant side both times. We waited over an hour for our pizza. The waitress (owner) told us we wouldn't mind the wait if we ordered an appetizer or salad! Ate one slice when finally served and took the rest with us. Had another slice at home and threw the rest away. The pizza was soggy and not enought cheese. Will not be back.

We are locals who eat at Scatori's often. We have loved it until tonight. We waited over 45 min for a pizza during which we saw another table get a pizza delivered and then a second pizza later. Others were served their food as well. I spoke to the server and the manager and was told they were backed up due to a large order. We continued to wait and my husband went to speak to the manager. She didn't even make eye contact with him and said she was sorry but it would be out in a couple more minutes. He asked about a discount and she said she couldn't do anything about it. Another customer who picked up a to-go order waited for us outside to let us know that she thought the manager was rude and that the customer service was terrible. We were very disappointed and may not go back!

Went there for dinner and ate on the pizzeria side......all tables were full, but it took 1 1/2 hours to get out food. I asked twice why the long wait, and was told it was because of take out orders. If that's the case, then why was it we continually saw people walk up and place their order, then be able to walk out 20 minutes later with their food. They obviously do not put patrons who dine in a priority. If someone takes the time to go and eat in their restaurant, then they should be treated as a priority too. This is not a well organized system they have.

A few days ago, I had the good fortune to be a guest at one of the Chef's Dinners at Scatori's, and can highly recommend the experience for any special occasion you care to recall or invent! It was superb. Truly superb. No courses are repeated; this is a catered-for-your-party's-tastes experience. The portions are adequate so that at the end of the five, you are satisfied but not overwrought. The wine pairings are an education in themselves, but even if one isn't partaking of the vino, the food is exquisite. Smoked portobello, risotto, beef and fried spinach, ravioli and clams, and a chicken dish, as I recall, were all delicious. I live several flights away, so won't be back for a while, but checking in at Scatori's is now a priority for my next visit to MB! Thanks!

We are locals and had heard Scatori's had a really good pizza. We were somewhat disappointed. It is a good New York style pizza, but the crust in too tough. There are better pizza places in Myrtle Beach, e.g., Michael's. Scatori's is a nice looking restaurant and the Italian dishes may be very good, we tried only the pizza. Service as really pretty bad, waiting over 30 minutes for a pizza. When we mentioned this to the server, she seemed to indicate that was not unusual because "they make meals from scratch." So all is all, our experience was just OK.

Very deceiving ... You get a lot more than you expect when you walk through the doors of Scatori's. You are seated in an up-scale atmosphered, cozy dining area. Linen tables clothes, well dressed servers and waiters. Then you get to order from an extensive menu. The food is more than enough to share, but, of course, my husband and I order our own favorites. There is always enough food to take home and enjoy the following day. Food is presented very nicely and everything we have ordered has been delicious. Today, we are celebrating my mom's 96th birthday at Scatori's. It's a special day for us and what better place to celebrate than at Scatori's. It's like being back in Brooklyn!

All I can say is wow! We only ate on the pizza side, but how amazing. My family split a large buffalo chicken pie and a gorgonzola salad...yes, we love cheese. :-) We finished with some really yummy dough balls smothered in powdered sugar, which they brought after we were finished with the pizza and salad. The place was a bit hard to find (recommended by guest services at our hotel) and a bit far off the beaten path. I guess it's more of a local place (next to a Lowes grocery store and behind a Kohl's department store)...but we always try to find restaurants that come with excellent recommendations. Anyway, next time we're in the Myrtle Beach area, we'll definitely come back!

Hi, I worked here for a couple weeks a few summers ago. I would like to say it was a pleasant experience, but it was not. The owners are horrible to their employee's, I left after a few weeks and they did not even pay me for the time I worked there. Just gave me the cold shoulder. I believe that is common practice at Scatori's, because the turn around rate is so high. As a former food buyer, I had some suggestions about how they could improve some of their dishes by using 'authentic' Italian ingredients, and I might have been talking to the food Nazi's. If you want to eat somewhere, where the vibes are bad, eat here.

I'm a New Yorker living in New Jersey. I had Scatori's Pizza and I thought I was back in Broolklyn. It's better then anything I get in New Jersey. Their Chicken Parm was out of sight. You must ask for the mousse for dessert. The Chef and Owner are wonderful, and the staff is great. Can't wait to get back to Myrlte Beach for some real Italian food.

On a recent visit to Myrtle Beach, I went to Scatori's with family who are year-round residents and eat at this wonderful restaurant often. The decor in the dining room was charming and inviting. We went on a Saturday evening and although the restaurant was busy, the service provided by our waiter was excellent. He was able to recommend appetizers and entrees and we were not disappointed. We ordered three appetizers to share including the Italian Nachos, the Trio of Cheese and Fried Calamari. All were delicious. As I love veal, but it is not something I make at home, I ordered the Veal Franchaise with a side of angel hair pasta. The veal was very tender and delicious. Each entree came with choice of soup or salad and fresh baked bread. It was a good value for the money since the portions are rather large. I look forward to returning to Scatori's on my next visit to Myrtle Beach.

We had been to this restaurant during the week and had a wonderful dinner. We returned tonight with friends and our experience was not good at all. We waited over one in a half hours to get our food. I understand the Chief Kevin was not there tonight. When we spoke to the owner she was very nasty and forgot that I was going to be the person writing this review, she should acted like "a good business woman" instead of a "street woman". Our server was a lovely person and was very sorry for how the owner spoke to us. To bad she has to work for such "a common person".

Last week went to Scatori's while down on vacation. Someone had told us it was the best Italian in Myrtle Beach. They were right. There was seven of us and we got the Nachos and Bruchetta as appetizers. I got the Chicken Gorganzola which was excellent. I'm a NY Italian and my parents owned a restaurant for years in NY. I was really blown away...this is the real deal! It brought back memories of when my parents had their restaurant. The owners were there working and the chef came over to talk to us. Next time we are in Myrtle Beach we are going to do the tasting with chef Kevin. Great place, great food!

My husband and I have been coming to Scatori's since their first summer open and make a point to go whenever we are down visiting the family. Last December we did the Chef's Dinner with Chef Kevin & it is an experience that is out of this world and unlike anything you will find in Myrtle Beach. We came down last week and went in for dinner last Wednesday and Chef Kevin was doing a Chef's Dinner with the table behind us. What did I miss that he is no longer there as the previous poster remarked? Food was phenomenal as always. Music was a great surprise too! Bring your appetite because the portions are huge & the bread you can't stop eating!! This is a hidden jewel in Myrtle Beach & we recommend it to everyone!

What happen to Chef Kevin? The quality of the food is not the same since he left. Chef Kevin made the place what it was. His personal attention to all that came in to dine was a major part of the experience of dining there. His food as delicious, but not so much now that he's gone. We use to recommend Scatori's to everyone, but not now.

Too bad. Kevin is no longer the chef. The main reason for going to this restaurant, except for the pizza.

orrible! Been here dozens of times! We sat on the pizza side, waited almost an hour for our pies! Came out burnt! The owners daughter was so rude, we ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes for pizza cooked just like the first 2! This place is so. Out of wack! They had the nerve to charge us full price! Sometimes its good, but it is never consistant! This was the final straw! Want good pizza, go to ginos off forestbrook rd!

I have eaten at Scatori's since they first opened about 2 years ago. I eat in both the Pizzeria and also the Dining Room frequently. I don't know what the previous poster thinks a small portion is because I always go home with enough leftovers for either lunch or dinner the next day (and it appears so do the tables around us). The pizza is absolutely the best around (and I'm a Jersey transplant) and in this poor economy I have not noticed any "cutbacks" on food quality or portions as I have with other restaurants nor a price increase. I guess to each their own but I will continue to have my pizza "fix" and enjoy the pasta dishes which are truly made from scatch (can sometimes hear the pounding of my veal).

After reading all the other reviews I am not sure if the reviews are plants, if the ownership has changed or just what the story is, but our experience at this restaurant was aweful. We gave this place 2 chances. The food and service was poor-aweful both times, especially for the price. After waiting 1 hour this past wkend for our meal with hardly anyone in the dining room, it was obvious that the kitchen/management is more interested in serving the delivery pizza crowd than the dining in crowd. There are too many great restaurants in Myrtle Beach to waste your money here.

The pizza is awesome, the entree portions are extraordinarily small and over priced. The food is extremly salty. Scatori's was great when they first opened, they are now too full of themselves, it is a shame.

We are NY transplants and have never found good Italian food until I heard about Scatori's. This IS the Italian stop you must hit when in South Carolina. The chef's creations are carefully plated and the flavors are amazing!! Chef Kevin comes out all the time to see how your food is. I have NEVER been there when he didnt come to our table. The pizza is like it was flown in from NY... The best around. You must stop in to Scatori's when in SC - Myrtle Beach area

The pizza and subs we tried two different times from Scatoris were not very good. Maybe if you like Pizza Inn you like this place. Even some of the chains have better quality. The place is nice inside but try Viennas for a great pie.

WOW! My husband and I ate there last weekend on the Restaurant side. The food was excellent! We had the bruchetta as an appetizer, I had the Veal Scatori and my husband had a Fruti De Mar that the Chef customized with a Fra Diablo sauce. We went last night for Pizza in the Pizzeria side. Although very busy the service was friendly and excellent. The Pizza is outstanding and since we are originally from Jersey we finally found pizza like home! We had the bruchetta again and got a Scatori Supreme pizza. I have not stopped telling all my neighbors and friends about this place. You owe to yourself to give it a try. Great job, Scatori's!

As a previous reviewer stated - this is the real deal for pizza. Excellent on all levels: crust, cheese, sauce & ingredients. We're from Chicago and have eaten ALOT of pizza of all types; deep dish, pan, stuffed, hand tossed, thin, etc. Scatori's is the best we've found here on the strand. You can't beat the 4-7 happy hour specials on wine, beer, cocktails and appetizers. Service is always great and the restaurant clean and well managed. Grazie mille!!!!

We and two other couples recently had the pleasure of experiencing the "Chef's Tasting" on a Saturday night. All courses were innovative in style, composition and flavor - and newly created that evening just for the six of us. The accompanying wine pairings were also excellent. Chef Kevin came out to the table with each course to fully explain his creations and answer any questions. Scatori's is lucky to have such a personable and talented chef! We have already booked another chef's tasting and are really looking forward to more culinary adventure.

In a recent visit to the Myrtle Beach area we were recommended Scatori's. I have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and both my wife and I have traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. I am Italian and wherever we go am always on the lookout for good Italian food. Not only did we find this at Scatori's, but were blown away by the quality and variety of the menu. It was so good that for the 10 days we were in Myrtle Beach we ate at Scatori's 3 times and each was better than the last..... Chef Kevin is not only a very talented chef but is also very pleasant and extremely enthusiastic about his food. Do not miss it.

Visited for the first time today for lunch. They have the best Italian food we have found in SC since moving here 8 years ago. Will definitely return to try other items. I had the chicken parmesan and husband had the veal parmesan. Both were delicious and portions were huge. The sauce was outstanding -- not too sweet -- just perfect. Great bread and delicious soup and caesar salad also. Only regret is that we had no room for dessert! Service was excellent as well. As NJ transplants, we are really happy to have this gem in the area!

I brought my family who was visiting from out of town to Scatori's last night for dinner. I decided to try the restaurant because they catered lunch at my work on July 2 and I thought the pizza was great and also the Meatball sub. Plus my family loves Italian. There was ten of us last night and the kids got Pizza and the rest of us got dinners. We sat in the dining room section and had such a good time. The food was excellent and so was our servers. I will definitely be going back to Scatori's.

These guys catered a luncheon at work for us. The subs were mostly bread and the pizza was average at best. They ran out of food 3 or 4 times so people were waiting and waiting for the next delivery. These kind of poor results won't bring in new customers.

I'm from Sanford, NC (originally NJ) and come to Myrtle Beach 3 or 4 times a year. We tried Scatori's for dinner about 5 months ago for the first time and went back the next day for the Pizza. We just went again last week while we were down visiting. We ate once in the Dining Room for dinner and 2x in the Pizza side. The food is really excellent and the best Italian we've found in Myrtle Beach. I had Chicken Francaise and my Mother had Fettucini Alfredo with Shrimp. In the pizza place we got the Scatori Supreme pizza the one nite for dinner and we split a Cheesesteak Supreme sub and a Gorgonzola salad for lunch on the other day. Everything is really excellent! I will definitely be coming to Scatori's everytime we come down to Myrtle Beach. I have not had Italian this good (or Pizza this good) since I left NJ. I wish Scatori's would open up a restaurant in Sanford.

Wow...I am shocked by the last person's comment.... Maybe you all ate at the wrong place??? Their subs are freakin huge! I get an Italian & my girlfriend gets a turkey sub twice a week on our lunch break & Boars Head is QUALITY & they load those things up! Scatori's by far has the best pizza in Myrtle Beach. I order delivery every friday night now for 6 months! IT'S REAL NY PIZZA.....flavored crust is CHAIN pizza not REAL pizza! The combination of their sauce & cheese makes the pie! Their pizza sauce is awesome! Anyone who wants real pizza GO TO SCATORI'S. Tried it for the first time 6 months ago & will NEVER go anywhere else again!

We have tried their subs and pizza and were disappointed by both. The subs had too little meat. The pizza sauce tasted more like spaghetti sauce and the dough was bland. If the pizza isn't too good, we don't want to try the other foods.

I too am a NJ snob. You can't get better Italian food anywhere. Kevin, Stephanie, Eileen and Mike are like family. When my 13 year old grandson, Brian had the flu in January, Kevin made him chicken noodle soup to help him get better. I don't know any other restaurant that would be so considerate. We love Scatori's -- and so will you.

After living here for five years I FINALLY found the BEST Italian on the beach and truly the BEST pizza. The pizza is actually better than my favorite pizzeria back in Jersey. We have been to Scatori's many times in the last few months (and also do delivery). They have a beautiful Tuscan decorated restaurant on one side and a NY style Pizzeria on the other. We have eaten on both sides and the food has always been excellent and the service friendly. A must try is the Italian Nachos - to die for! The Eggplant Parmigiana is excellent and not mushy at all and any of the veal dishes are great (very tender). My favorite dish is the Risotto - Wow! I suggest making reservations though on the weekends since they do tend to be very busy.

This is a family owned and operated restaurant that does a wonderful job of accomodating the desires of it's customers. We have dined there in the dining room and the service and cuisine was excellent. This place has absolutely the best pizza on the beach. We have been there 4 times and it has always been excellent and that says a lot considering I am a NJ Pizzeria snob. But you owe it to yourself to try it.
