Review: Santa Fe is closed, being replaced with a fresh new place and look! The caboose is gone. Maybe the new great restaurant in town? We'll see very soon!

Review: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DON'T GO THERE!!! Most horrible restaurant EVER! Advertised "live music", was in fact a guy singing along with a karoake machine and strumming his guitar every fourth chord. Hostess didn't actually seat us...she handed us a menu and pointed to our table and told us to seat ourselves there. Once there, the seats had pools of some liquid in them. Had to find a waitress to wipe them down before we could even be seated. Ordered a two drinks which we never received despite asking for them three times. My girlfriends salad came out hot, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. We had to get our own place settings off another table, so she could have a fork to eat her hot salad. My food was average at best. The waitress never checked on us. When it came time for the bill, I asked to speak to the manager and the waitress was genuinely shocked that I was upset. The manager was rude and was not apologetic. He stated he would "see what he could do" about the bill and left our table. He never returned and after 15 minutes, we just left. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Review: We waited for a very long time to get our drinks after we were finally seated. THEN she got the order some of the orders wrong and had to wait another 15 minutes for the dinner to be brought out again. I began getting my own condiments and things instead of waiting for them. There really weren't many people in the restaurant either. I was NOT impressed to say the least.

Review: We were seated near the bar and a few locals were really living it up so we asked to be moved and that was a mistake. We had disturbed the host and it was obvious he did not like our request to move. The salads were about three days past needing to have been discarded, you could tell the lettuce had actually been frozen. All of our entrees were terrible. When my wife's finally arrived (after asking numerous times) the rest of our party had finished, or had to stop eating due to the horrible quality and I mean horrible. When we told the waitress about the poor quality she did not respond but sent the manager, the one in the same friendly host and he told us sorry but we had eaten more than half of our food and there was nothing he could do. We will never visit this establishment again.

Review: I don't know why people have left this place bad reviews, I have went there multiple times and always had good food. The restaurant also has a good theme it looks like railroad cars and has a model train inside.

Review: This was the worst dining experience I have ever encountered in Myrtle Beach. We arrived at the restaurant, and the hostess could not be bothered to seat us, so she handed us the menus and pointed to our table. After sitting for about 10 minutes, our waitress came to take our drink order. The drinks arrived 15 minutes later, and were not refilled for our entire meal. The restaurant advertised "Live Music" but it would more accurately be described as "Poor Karaoke." We waited for our food for 45 minutes. Our waitress was nowhere to be found. A bus boy was instructed to serve our food. He served it to the wrong table, who accepted it, and then returned it to him. He promptly RE-served it to us, which violates health code. My entire grilled chicken salad was warm (who puts a salad under heat lamps??) and my boyfriend was very unhappy with his meal as well. The manager was very unresponsive and was not customer-service oriented. There are too many great restaurants in Myrtle Beach to waste time at this one. DO NOT let the cute train theme entice you!

Review: We thought we ordered from the early bird menu. I chose the crab cake. After receiving the bill I noticed I did not get the early bird special. I mention this to the waiter and boy was that a mistake. I was informed I ordered the regular dinner and ate it so I would pay for it. I asked to speak to the manger. Karen Henderson came out and lectured me. She more or less accused me of trying to stiff them. She also informed me the waiter saw my wife eating some of the crab cake and could charge me a sharing fee of $5.00.
Well after a lenghty, heated discussion Karen did adjust the bill to the early bird price. Kind of ruined the evening.

Review: I eat out alot and I don't know of too many restaurants including the chains that include more food with the price of the entree. ie... veggie and potato and salad . Most places now salad is offered ala cart only.Their prices are competitive with comparable rest. in the area. Food is well prepared and tastefully presented.Try the grilled fresh catches or the prime rib you won't be disappointed!!!
The service is as good if not better than anywhere on the beach , you can always meet some of the " locals" in the bar during Happy Hour and when the weather is good the deck offers outside dining. Live entertainment usually weekends beginning around Easter ,,, EVERYONE'S FAVORITE...

Review: I worked at this restaurant for a very brief four hours one day (several years ago). I had worked in many restaurants and I was training this day to become a server. The kitchen was not fit to cook in. It was over a 100 degrees back there, and the servers and kitchen staff were only cooled by fans. I don't know if it is the same anymore. The day I worked, the servers were cooling themselves off in the buckets of ice that were used for oysters on a half shell.
Then I served a steak, but as I was doing this, I dropped it onto the disgusting kitchen floor (the most disgusting out of all the restaurants I've ever worked in) and instead of tossing it out like most restaurants would, they threw it back onto the grill, and served it again. I refused to serve it. So, I went to the bar area where I found my manager. I was having to wait on her to finish speaking to a guest, b/c I was about to quit. As I'm waiting this man walked up the two steps from the bar into the dining room, slips, breaks both cocktail glasses, and NO ONE, even the manager who was standing right there did anything. I ran over to the man to make sure he wasn't bleeding, and he was. Then finally my manager walked over.
Right there in front of everyone, including the injured man, I said, "No way could I EVER work at such a low-down, disgusting place. I'm outta here."
Then I went to Dock Holidays to work, which is located behind Santa Fe Station, and what a difference. The EXACT opposite was found there, and I was a happy camper throughout the rest of summer.

Review: My family and friends have eaten at Sante Fe many, many times. My husband and I had a bad experience last year and decided not to return to the restaurant.
While in Cherry Grove on June 22-24, 2006, we met with friends who wanted to eat at Sante Fee Station, so we grudgingly went along. You may have lost the business of multiple customers as this was absolutely the WORST service any of us ever received in any restaurant. Our orders were wrong, our drinks were forgotten; couldn't get simple items such as catsup. It was a horrible experience especially for the dollar value.

Review: I had previously eaten at the Sante Fe Station while on vacation and was very impressed with the food---so when I had 5 guests on vacation May of 2006, I was excited to take them out to eat here. I cannot even find the words to tell you how horrible everything was. First- we were early dinner customers and among the first to get there-- still waited 25 minutes to get a waitress to the table and we were the only customers there at that point.
Everyone ordered - the service was the worst ever- the food was the worst ever- the prices were terribly expensive for what we ordered-- one of my guests shared from other plates because her food was not edible. Some sort of cajun beef tips that were so dry they were hard and so hot with cajun spice she could not even begin to eat them.
After a wonderful vacation- we saved this place for the last meal before our trip home--the absolute worst food I have ever eaten in a restaurant. They need to do something and I mean fast!!!!!!!!

Review: Please, turn back the clock about 10 years. This used to be an absolutely wonderful place. They had great food, both in quality and price. The staff and whole atmosphere used to be much more relaxed and fun. I must assume the place has changed owners. It certainly is suffering for it. Sad!

Review: I have been eating at Santa Fe for 20 years. I have seen the restaurant go from wonderful to very poor. My last experience there was 3 years ago. We were seated in the porch area and one of the ceiling fan blades comes flying off and barely missed a child. Then the waiter picked up my unfinshed salad and dropped it down the back of my dress. The waiter apologized and said he would discount my glass of wine. I received bill and was not discounted. This was a dry clean only dress. There are too many other restaurants in the area that are much better.

Review: The early bird special was a good value. Nice portion, fresh and well presented. The crab cake was good, but there was a bit more filler than crab.

Review: A nice restaurant, but not the value for the money. They try to come off as a more sophisticated, higher end restaurant (with corresponding prices), but fail to deliver on the meal. Nice atmosphere. Helpful staff.
