Very Bad Hot Dog. I know my dogs being from Buffalo and a Ted's fan. This place sucks big time and charges $4.40 for a foot long. If it was a good dog maybe, but that's not the case. Stay clear like everyone else wrote. ref: 17966 |

We go to Sam's for the hot dogs every year. The food last night was only average and our waitress should have been working at Dick's Last Resort instead. She was very cranky and did not leave a good impression with the person in our party who had never been there before. I was so disappointed. Unfortunately, we will not recommend our friends go there again :(

I went to this establishment...I'm sorry...this hole in the wall to place an order for a good burger. It was really early in the morning and I travelled about 15 for one of their burgers. Needless to say, when I got their I was encountered by this rude, pasty mean old lady who had the customer service skills of a baboon. She was really nasty in trying to answer my questions and seemed a little bias. The burger wasn't the best....and the restaurant wasn't all that clean either. I wouldn't return here if I was dying and their food contained life saving oxygen! ref: 16874 |

We were in Myrtle Beach on vacation and ran across this place, we thought it would be a great place to eat. My grandson was with us and likes hot dogs his name is also Sam. We got some cool pictures of him there, but as far as the food, one of the worst hod dogs I ever had. You look in you bun and say where is the meat. They are over priced and the soda was $1.85 for mostly ice and they want to charge
55 cents for a refill. Poor Poor will never eat there again. ref: 16487 |

I have been to Myrtle Beach multiple times and always wanted to stop at Sam's, so did this past trip. We got the hot dogs and fries to go as we were heading home to NC. They were quite good and we are probably going back tomorrow for a day-trip and bring some home. It isn't steak but it is a good slice of Americana. ref: 16294 |

Went to Sam's Corner in Myrtle Beach to taste the world's best hot dog. I have to say it was as bad a hot dog as I've ever eaten. The price was extremely high. Three hot dogs to go, all the way, were $9.05 (tax included). Needless to say, I will never go to Sam's corner again. Terrible, terrible, terrible.....one for each hot dog!!! ref: 13594 |

I love to go to Sams Corner for their hot dogs. The best part was the ones taking my order. During the day it was Teresa, who always had a smile on her face, and at night it was a guy I think he is called Ed. He always has a joke for me. I will be back just to see them. The hot dogs are a little pricey. ref: 13519 |

Since we moved in the area 5 months ago, we've been coming to Sam's Corner every Sunday for breakfast. Sylvia, who welcomes you and takes your order at the counter, is a sweetie. We look forward to see her every week. She brings us coffee with a smile and we just love her. Salomon does the best brekfast in town. He is just so nice too! All in all, it is the best place to have breakfast. Feels like home away from home. ref: 12861 |

Sam's Corner in Myrtle Beach has really fell off. Myself and my sister were on the side of the road throwing up minutes after eating there. They were rude, and dirty looking people working there. They kicked a group of guys out just for being a little loud. There was a rusty air conditioning vent leaking water into one of the food trays that was filled with food. I used to like the Ocean burger until it ruined my stomach for 2 days. ref: 11809 |

You can add this to any of Baker's resturants. It is amazing that anyone in food service would stoop so low to have cheap sub-humans cook and serve to unsuspecting tourists that for some reason believe they are getting clean and fresh uncontaminated food without contamination. No one checks or audits Sam's business. What a shame. ref: 11700 |

We were told by a friend this was the BEST place to get a hot dog...but I don't think so. I chose the Italian sausage sandwich. The peppers & onions came out of a freezer already chopped but it was an OK sandwich. Two of my three grandchildren and son got the hot dogs. Tasted like a Target dog, nothing special. My oldest grandson chose the "Elvis special"..."grilled PB & J". Sorry folks, false info. His fav was a PB & banana sandwich and I never heard if he liked it grilled! I doubt we'll go back. ref: 11658 |

On our first trip to M.B. I asked where do I go for the best footlong? I was told Sam's. Are you kidding? the worst footlong and if this place was the best I would hate to see the worst. Dirty, rude and the filth was everywhere. Stayed two weeks never went back and never will. I told the guy who suggested the place to me about my experience and he was surprised although he has not been at Sam's for awhile. Sad that people buy a famous place and let the place go to H_ _ l.
Opportunity for someone else to open great footlong joint. Look out Sam's we are moving to M.B. soon. ref: 10167 |

Food was mediocre at best...nothing that you couldn't get at your average gas station. As a local I have visited this establishment on more than one occasion and have been disappointed each time. On both occasions I have been informed that they were not serving beer at the time and the soft drinks cost for the refills. As a service industry employee of the area I can say that this place is one of the worst on the beach...if you are from out of town don't waste your time and if you are looking for late night food you are better off at waffle house. ref: 10159 |

Sams Corner as a born and raised beach girl, has always been a great place to go and grab a late night hot dog, a order of fries, maybe a beer, or some of that dank fruit punch. Tonight, as well as the past handfull of times I have been there, I have been treated like I was a bother for the employees while they were smoking their ciggerattes leaning on the liquor case. I asked for a drink without ice and once she filled the entier cup up with ice, she then told me that she would refill it again for me later for free. My friend ordered cheese fries, and a side of ranch, and after recieving his fries with absloultly no cheese sauce nor ranch dressing, he was then charged for the sauces. 75 cents EACH. Asking for light onions on your hotdog never once meant cover the whole hot dog in onions did it? So as far as the food being horrible I wanted my fruit punch refilled and the white headed crypt keeper then looked at me and said $2.05. Furious I walked out of there and will never return. As I mentioned before I was born and raised on Sams Corner and if there is any hope for them to revive their local service industry customers, I would suggest a new late night staff. I work in this industry and have never seen someone with such a negative and bitter attitude. ref: 9714 |

This used to be the place for a foot-long dog, fries and a "cold one", but this place has changed and not for the good. A foot-long is now $4.50. Soft drink refills are no longer free. In the past you could order, eat then pay. Now they make you pay up front. I guess that is to prevent you from complaining on how bad the food is. I used to go every time I was in Myrtle Beach, but now I will only go when McDonald's or Wendee's is closed. ref: 8014 |

I am a true "Native" of S.C. and have watched Sam's through Hurricanes, to different owners, through summertime loves, through grandpas that have passed, babies being born and so forth. It holds a true place in my heart. I have watched it for 35 years. It has changed though. For the worst! SC Is about hospitality. Where are these people from that work there now? Why are they so so so very rude. I know they have to work there, but for God's sake, a smile would not hurt you. And why is it now 25 bucks for two dogs and two beers..10oz I might add. I still love the smells and the oldies that are always playing. And as someone mentioned before...the lady who is at the cash register needs to realize PEOPLE are the ones who have kept Sams standing over all these years. I still love the hotdogs, but was dissappointed and badly treated the last time. As much money as I have spent there over the years I probably should have a thank you wall dedicated to my family. Anyway...enough said. The place is like a family member who has went ary. You still love-em anyway. ref: 8013 |

After years of loyal patronage, I've had my last Sam's hotdog. The quality is well below average, the place is dirty and the prices are outrageous. We visit Myrtle Beach every year and Sam's Corner is one of the places that we go to every day. We were there on January 27, 2007 to reserve our room for the Bike Festival coming up in May, 2007. I ordered a double cheeseberger, onion rings, and ice tea. All of that came up to $8.98. Some may think this is expensive but to me its not. Plus you get free refills on the ice tea. Every time we go it seems like the same people are working so they know our faces by now LOL!! Can't wait to hit Sam's Corner again!! ref: 4967 |

The sign said $2.75 for a regular hotdog so I thought I would order one to go to see if it was worth it. Then he said it would be $3.50 and I asked how much it was. And he said $2.75 for the hot dog plus tax and then a surcharge for carry out. And not very friendly he looked at me like I was wrong for asking, but the sign said nothing about being charged for walking out the door with your food. Very disappointed and will not go back ever but that is just me. ref: 3596 |

What a shame that Sam's has deteriorated to this level. It was once THE late night dog and burger place with big juicy hot dogs and the famous 5 cent cup of coffee. Now, you could buy a full steak dinner for the same price that they charge for a cut-rate skinny dog (one of those cheap RED things), an order of fries and a cup of coke over a LOT of ice. Didn't get enough soda to wash down the lousy dog? Be prepared to lay out another $1.50 for a refill. The majority of the current staff looks like they could use a long shower and they act like it's just too much trouble to take your order - not to mention being polite about it! Sorry, Sam's, buy a mop, clean up your restaurant, your employees, your menu AND your service. You've sunk too low for me! Even after a couple or three beers! ref: 3586 |

This was the first time to hit the Sam's at Myrtle Beach. Had been at the one in Garden City before quite a few times over the past years. Same great food. Cost was a little on the high side for a "dog " joint. Didint get to find out about the no refill policy, had a bottle drink. If that is the case they are one of the last not offering refills. That is one of the things that keeps me coming back to places. Service was ok - the lady at the counter was helpful with what came with what on it. The Myrtle Beach store still dosent have the same old feeling that the one in Garden City has. But I think I'll go to the one in Garden City next time. ref: 2867 |

After waiting for the lady that looks like she would be in the corner of a bowling alley smoking a pack of marlboro reds to acknowledge our presence we ordered 3 regular sized hot dogs 1 fry and 2 cokes for 15 bucks... unbelievable. Then had to pay for a refill, which by the way everyone doesn't have to do b/c shortly after my 1.49 refill another guy came up, got a refill and actually got a smile out of the lady with no charge for the drink. Even after paying the 1.49 for the refill she refilled it with the wrong soda. Don't waste your time with this place, the food really isn't that great and I love hot dogs.. I travel all over just for a good hot dog and will not add this place to my list of favorites. ref: 2734 |

The best hotdogs I've ever had. I travel and eat out a lot and don't always have to eat somewhere fancy. This is the type of small diner I would like to own. if I lived in MyrtleBeach. I could see myself waking up at 2,3,or 4am just to go to Sams Corner. Once I ate two footlongs and an order of fries and a steak sandwich, and went right back the next day. At Sams they even take time to lightly toast the bun which also makes a difference. ref: 1985 |

My family has bee going to Garden City and Sam's for over 30 years. It was once an icon, but the original cast, owner Sam and family have obviously departed and left behind a dirty, expensive, disappointing shell of it's former. What a shame, a 'footlong, fries, and a cold beer' were once tradition. I can go anywhere and suffer rude help, filth, subpar food, and smell redneck sweat. But I choose to eat where I can pay the going rate f food, the staff speaks English, and has pride and tradition are stamped on the menu. Adios Sam's! ref: 1860 |

I have been going to Garden City for the family friendly atmosphere for 6 years now. This past year I was astounded to be told that it'd cost me an extra $1.50 for a refill on a drink that was all ice in the first place!!!! The food there is ok but it is NOT so good as to make up for nothing to drink unless you spend a fortune. The quality of the food does vary greatly according to which crew is there working. Last year I ate at Sam's corner more often then any other place on the beach I think.. That may seem a little odd considering all the different places to eat, but what put Sam's Corner above most others is that they are open 24 hours a day, so when I got hungry at around 2am it was no problem riding to Sam's and getting a hot dog and fries. They definitely deserve to be ranked one of the best on convenience alone, not to mention the food is great! ref: 582 |
